  Also, for those of you whose interest in bourbon, its history, and its production has been piqued by the reading of this book, I would recommend, Bourbon: A History of the American Spirit, by Dane Huckelbridge. I found it a wonderful source for further study.

  Finally, I would like to thank those readers who have made it all the way to this final note. I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey. And should you ever make a trip to the Bluegrass Region, and Lexington in particular, please stop by Magee’s for a warm greeting, a fine cup of coffee and a wonderful almond croissant. You’ll find it right on East Main, directly across from the white house that sits adjacent to the school district’s Central Office. Without his help, all the Hispanic flavors that wind their way through this series would probably turn out to be more like Spanglish than authentic Mexican dialogue. While you’re there, go ahead and order a “Sonia’s Special.” I think you’ll enjoy it.

  After a long career as a professional musician and educator, having written several instructional texts along the way, Frank Messina turned his attention to writing fiction in 2016. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Music Education and a Doctor of Education degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
