My eyebrows meet. “Yesterday?”
“Yes,” she whispers. “I wanted to marry you yesterday…for a while now. I-I just didn’t know if that’s what you wanted. I-I know I-I’ve made harsh declarations against it.” She wets her lips while her eyes bounce around me as she tries to gather her words. “Bu-but I want anything that brings me closer to you. I want to be everything you need. I wa-want—”
I silence her unnecessary prattle with a kiss. She’s given me my answer: Elle Ann Jarreau will be Mrs. Jackson Q. Hunter aka Elle A. Hunter and I will now have the wings I need for my flight to take on the world.
