“Oh man, you should see your face. This is classic, you are all out of women while I’ve still got my pick of them.” He takes a swig of his beer and continues to chuckle.
In Reece’s case, he has a different taste in women. He likes to go for the more alpha, strong-headed women, where I like them more soft and easy.
I don’t know why, but I have this strong urge to look at the front doors of the bar and people watch those coming in. I’m not even sure what I’m looking for. The doors open to reveal a blonde woman, and following behind her is Louise. I knew it had to be for a reason.
Well this night has turned from a good one into a fucking great one.
I look back at Reece and his eyes have landed on the front doors as well. It’s like the whole bar stopped in time to watch these two sexy ladies walk through. The women have a jealous look resting on their faces and the men have their jaws hit the ground. It’s a sight to see that’s for sure.
I watch as Louise leans over to her friend and whispers in her ear. Her blonde friend locks eyes with me and smirks. I quickly turn away and busy myself by starting a conversation about work with Reece, but he doesn’t seem to be listening to me because his eyes are following Louise’s friend around the bar until they find a spot to sit.
Aw, he looks smitten already, this is new.
Reece turns back to me and cocks his head to the side.
“Who are those girls Alex, the brunette girl seems to know you. I wonder what she said when she leaned over to her friend. They both looked straight at you. What am I missing here friend?” His eyes lock dead on with mine waiting for my response.
“Well, Louise is the brunette girl over there. She is the one I’ve been going mad for the last couple of weeks. I can’t seem to get her out of my head. I took her on a date the other night and it didn’t end well. I’ve tried to talk to her but she won’t answer my calls and I even sent her a bouquet of flowers, but she continues to ignore me. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’m pretty sure I told you all this, unless you weren’t listening. Fuck this, I need another beer.” I get up before I hear his reply. I head towards the bar and order two shots of vodka to get the buzz going. I’m not on call for the next couple of days so that’s a relief. I know tonight I will need to let loose. Poor Reece, he is on call tomorrow. He won’t be able to drink too much or he will be putting people’s lives at risk. The only reason he is here tonight is to take my sorry ass out to get laid.
I got a phone call from Jackie last night. She told me she is moving to Paris next week, for good, to further her modeling career; so that is the end of that fling. Then I stood up Holly and that was a dick move. I don’t think it would be a good idea to seduce her again. She works for my Father and I need to stop going after his staff. I can’t have another woman in the firm know what my dick looks like.
I need to fire the list of women I’ve slept with at the firm before I take over my Father’s position but not before I have another job lined up for them. I’m not that much of an asshole.
I throw back the two shots and let the fiery burn run down my throat. I shake off the after taste and order other beer. I pick up the bottle and turn back to the booth where Reece is sitting. As I am turning, I bump into Louise. She is standing right in front of me, blocking my path to the booth. She is looking at me with a scowl on her pretty face, looking pissed off as ever. I must be an asshole about something.
She’s wearing a tight black halter-top, skinny white jeans and those killer red heels. Her hair is down but wavy around her shoulders and her gray eyes sparkle with anger. God this look is making me hard. I reach down towards my jeans and readjust myself.
“What are you doing here Alex,” she demands of me. I watch her as she crosses her arms under her boobs so they sit higher up.
“I could ask you the same thing babe,” I smirk, slowly looking her up and down again. Her eyes are watching mine. Good!
“I’m here because I’m celebrating a successful day at work today. Tell your Father I said thank you,” smirks and turns her back to me. She walks away swaying her hips and moving that amazing ass of hers.
What the actual fuck? That meeting was today? Damn it, I wanted to be there but I can’t be in two places at once. I knew Louise was presenting on that meeting but I completely forgot it was today. Fuck! I had to work and I knew my Father could take care of the meeting himself. I didn’t know the other accounts said yes. I must send her a gift for a great job well done. I take my spot across from Reece and take another sip of my beer.
“That looked interesting, almost like she poured iced water over your head. Are you okay? Do you need cement so you can harden the fuck up?” He laughs at his lame joke. I’ve never let another woman treat me this way, not since Tiff.
“Shut up man and pick out a new woman for me. I need to get out of here and fuck away my problems.” I scan the crowd, seeing that it has grown three times since we got here.
“What about that one, she keeps giving you the ‘come fuck me eyes’. If you don’t take her, I will. She’s hot.” I follow his line of sight and spot a petite girl, her black hair is in a pixie haircut and she’s wearing a dark green dress that is hardly covering her ass. Yeah she will do, I get up and make my way to her. I plaster on a smile that I know all ladies love. She isn’t who I want but she will have to do.
I stand right in front on her. I place my hand on her hip and lean in close. “Hello gorgeous, how are you tonight? Want to get out of here and head back to my place?” I don’t bother with pick-up lines since I’m not in the mood for the chase, thanks to Louise.
“Sure, lead the way handsome.” I take her hand, and lead her towards the door. On my way out I look over to Reece and give him the nod, it’s a code we use for ‘I’ll see you later,’ but before I open the door for her, I look to find Louise and I lock eyes with her. I watch as her eyes go wide with shock. Yeah, I’m a man-whore sweetheart. I lead this woman to my car and head back to my apartment.
My apartment isn’t that great, but its home. It’s not messy like you would expect it to be since it’s a bachelor pad. Reece likes to call it that. The place has a modern feel about it. I like to keep everything in its place. I’m hardly home as it is but when I am, I like to keep it clean. I’ve lost count of how many naked women have been in my room or my apartment in general.
I fish out my keys and unlock the front door. I watch as this woman walks inside and takes the place in. I drop my wallet, keys and phone on the kitchen counter and I lead this beauty to my bedroom. I kick the door closed behind us to give more of a privacy feel. I grab her around the waist and pull her back against my hard chest. I start off by kissing her neck. I kiss along her jawline, lick down her neck and trace her collarbone and left shoulder in kisses.
I reach down her back to unzip her dress, making quick work of the zipper. I throw the dress somewhere in my room and she turns in my hands. I watch her start by unbuttoning my shirt with clumsy hands. She throws the shirt on the floor and she makes her hands steady to unzip my pants. She shoves them down my thighs and I step out of them.
I bring her up against my body and I claim her mouth with mine. She smells like lemons and strawberries, too bad I won’t be seeing her again after tonight.
I push her towards my bed and she falls back against the bed and pushes up on her elbows. She watches as I crawl up the length of her. I lean forward to kiss down her neck. I reach a spot where I suck just above her collarbone that meets her neck. I bring my hand up to cup her left breast and I play around with her nipple until it’s hard and sensitive under my touch. I hear her quick little whimpers and she begins to stroke me through my briefs but it’s not enough. She attempts to pull them down but I get off the bed to take them off for her. I’m standing there in the nude when I reach down to pull her black panties off. I’m not in the mood to rip them off.
I can’t help but think about Louise in this moment, and what it will be like when I rip off her panties.
I walk
over to the bedside table for a condom and tear it open, I hand it to her so she can roll it on me. I climb on top of her and watch as she rolls the condom on my cock. I move my hand to the apex of her thighs and stroke between her folds; she’s very wet and ready for me. I slip a finger in to make sure she can handle my size. She bucks up and moans for more. I take another finger and watch as it disappears between her folds.
My cock is hard as a rock so I start by entering her folds with the tip and I slowly push my way into her tight pussy. Once I feel I’m all the way in, I wait and let her stretch to my size. I feel her buck her hips up to meet mine and I start off by slowly moving in and out of her. I get a slow rhythm going and I start to pick up my pace when I feel her walls start to clench. I pound her in and out, in and out, and I start to feel myself get close. She claws at my back and throws her head back against the pillows and lets out a throaty moan. All of a sudden, my thoughts go straight to Louise and I wish it were her who was here with me. I want to hear her soft sighs. I want to feel her naked body against mine. I want to wake up next to her and start all over again. With Louise in my thoughts I pump myself harder into this woman I’m fucking a few more times and that’s when I feel the tingle crawl up my spine and I cum inside her.
I pull out of her and hear her wince in pain. I get off the bed and pull the condom off my cock. I tie it up and throw it in the trashcan near the end of the bed. I exhale a shaky breath, look towards her sprawled out on my bed and she looks completely satisfied. I hope she leaves soon. I need to get some sleep before my busy day tomorrow. I pick up my briefs and put them back on.
“Well, that was great, thanks,” she chuckles.
“Yeah it was. I’m tired and should be getting some sleep,” I grunt my reply, hoping she takes the hint.
“Okay sure, but I don’t even know your name, and I’m sure you don’t know mine. I’m Sandra by the way.” She gets off the bed and starts to get dressed.
“I’m Alex, thanks for tonight.” I watch her collect her things. She waits for me to say something more but I wait until she has all her things and is ready to leave. “Oh and Sandra, make sure you lock the front door on your way out. See you around.” She walks out without a second glance. Now I can get some sleep and hopefully dream about Louise, a woman I will probably never get.
Chapter Eleven
Louise
THE AFTERNOON SUN PEEPS its way through my curtains, forcing me to roll over and hide my face. I can’t believe what happened last night. The bar was jamming and it was nice to be out. Steph and I were celebrating the deal we made with the companies. It was a girl’s night. I had to run into Alex there, and seeing his good looking friend there with him. Now I wouldn’t mind jumping his bones, but then Alex had the nerve to leave with another girl. Seriously, the mixed signals he is giving off will be the death of me, and I’m sure Steph was eye fucking his friend as he was her. Too bad he’s out of the cards now.
I’m sick of playing the cat and mouse game, he either wants me or he doesn’t. I know I still have to get over the fear of Matt, whether I’ll ever see him again. I know if I want to move forward with my life, with another man, that this issue has to be solved.
I’m just about to leave for work when there is a knock at my door, it must be one of Steph’s friends, or the delivery man dropping off more of her endless online purchases. Steph has a shoe and bag obsession. She doesn’t have enough closet space to keep them in.
I am making my way to the front door when I hear another three knocks. There is no peephole, so I have to trust whoever is behind the door and hope I don’t get murdered.
I inhale a deep breath and unlock the door. I open it wide enough to see who is behind it and I stagger back.
It’s Jax.
I double over to catch my breath but I can’t get in any air. This can’t be happening. He can’t be here because if he is here. If he’s here, then Matt knows I’m alive, and then he will come and find me, to finish the job he started in the first place.
Oh my god, I’m going to die for real this time.
“Lou, are you okay?” I feel Jax’s hand rubbing up and down my back, he hasn’t killed me yet, and maybe he’s here to give me a message.
“Ah, I… I’m fine,” I manage to get out before standing straight up and looking him in the eyes. He’s aged since I’ve seen him last, and he looks good, considering.
“Sorry to barge in here, but I’ve known you’ve been here since you left the hospital. I didn’t want to ruin your life until I knew for sure whether Matt believed you were dead.” He looks over the apartment before locking his eyes with mine.
Matt knows I’m alive, this can’t be good.
“Are you here to kill me then Jax?” I ask the first question that floats around my head.
“What, no! How can you think that?” he asks and looks frustrated, running his hand through his hair.
“What am I suppose to think? You barge in here, I haven’t seen you in months, and now I’m supposed to believe you’re not here to kill me because Matt found out I’m alive?” I’m fuming now, arms waving in the air. I need answers and I need them now.
“God damn it, I left Matt and his boys. After what he’s done to you, I can never go back. I’ve been on the run from them, just the same as you. I’m just better at it.”
“Where have you been then? What do you mean, better at it? Oh god he knows I’m here doesn’t he? That’s why you are here? What are you going to do? Am I going to live through this or do I have to keep running?” I throw so many questions at him my head is swimming. I need to sit down. I walk towards the couch and sit. I’m shaking. I need to tell Steph and tell Andrew I can’t make it today, this is just getting better and better.
“Slow down. First, Matt knows you are alive after he spoke to your doctors at the hospital, but he doesn’t know where you are exactly, which won’t take long, this is why I’m here. I have a plan for us to get out of the city unnoticed and alive, but we have to leave tonight. If you don’t come you risk your life and the lives of the ones you love.”
“Holy fuck, I can’t believe this.” Resting my head between my knees, I start counting my breaths, to calm myself down. I have to go with Jax or else everyone I’ve ever loved will die. No authority can stop Matt or his boys. I don’t have any other choice and Jax knows this, that’s why he has shown up so late.
“I know this is a lot to take in, but please make your choice within the hour, I need to notify my people we are coming. Here, this is my number. Text me your decision in an hour, and I hope it’s the right one.” He leans over the couch and kisses my head before leaving. The little white piece of paper sitting on the coffee table is staring at me; this hour will be the longest one of my life.
Do I tell Steph what’s happening or do I keep her in the dark just like before? Do I keep her safe from everything, or do I get her advice? Maybe she’ll even want to come with us. I can’t make her do that, she has a life here.
Just as the minutes tick by I go from yes, I will go with Jax, to no because I can’t keep running.
There is about twenty minutes left before Jax needs the answer and my phone buzzes. I jump back, on edge.
I look at the caller ID and its Alex.
Jesus, does this guy ever stop? I can’t talk to him now. I have to keep him safe too, even though he doesn’t deserve it after the stunt he pulled last night. I can’t keep ignoring him, I have to face my fears and tell him goodbye. Then that’s when it hits, I have to go back to Matt and face whatever he has in mind for my punishment.
I reach over and place the phone to my ear. “Hello, this is Louise.” I’m putting on a brave act, hopefully he doesn’t see straight through it.
“Hey Louise, it’s so good to hear your voice,” he breathes through the other end of the phone, like he can finally breathe again.
“Ah, yeah, so why… um… did you call me after what you pulled last night?” I wait for his answer, taking him longer than usual.

Right, well about that, I don’t know. I know I fucked up, no pun intended, but I didn’t mean to hurt you.” He chuckles at his joke.
“Seriously, this is how you are going to act, after everything? Look, I know nothing has happened between us, but maybe I had a little hope, knowing your reputation around town, but after last night, you can forget it. Just as well, I’m leaving town. You won’t hear from or see me again. I hope you’re happy.” Before I give him a chance to reply, I hang up the phone. I’m fuming, so angry at the events that have taken place tonight, the only option I have is to go back to Matt. I bring up the new contact that Jax gave me and send a text saying:
Hey, I can’t. I know I have to go back and I will.
Stay safe.

I head back to my room and start packing the things I really want to take. Things that will bring comfort when I walk back into the lion’s den. The photos Steph and I took together will come with me, the new clothes I bought, but I will leave my work clothes behind. My favorite pair of heels will come with me, and that’s about it. I make my way towards the kitchen and leave a note for Steph. I have no idea how to explain this to her, without freaking her out, but I have to make the note seem that I’m safe and for her not to come looking for me.
I write that I have to leave to keep her and everyone around me safe, that this was the only option; that she shouldn’t come looking for me, and I will contact her when it is safe. The last thing I write is how much I love her like a sister and I will miss her dearly.
I wipe my nose and taste the salt from my tears. This is the hardest thing I’ve done.
I hail a cab in front of the apartment, knowing that Steph will be home shortly, so I better get a move on.
The drive back to San Diego is not long enough to mentally and physically prepare my reunion with Matt and his boys. I thought that world was long gone, but here I am, standing in front of the house I called home for three years.
