The Storm's Gift

His eyes twinkled in the firelight.
“I guess I can keep you around for a while.” I teased as I rubbed my hands up and down his back, gripping his ass in my palms. My heart raced and my mind had trouble comprehending that Rory would want anything to do with me, but his words and demeanor were serious.
By the time we’d settled the issue, we were in desperate need of a shower.
“Pop the pizza back in the oven to warm it up while I start the water.” Rory gave me one last kiss before pulling his sticky stomach away from my equally messy one.
I watched him saunter to the bathroom to turn on our shower. I was taking a postsex shower with Rory Blackwell. And we had at least a promise of seeing where the semester would take us.
I still hated to miss time with my family, but winter break had taken a turn for the better. One thing was for sure. I’d never forget the winter I spent my Christmas in Cromwell.
A.D. ELLIS is an Indiana girl, born and raised. She spends much of her time in central Indiana teaching alternative education in the inner city of Indianapolis, being a mom to two amazing school-aged children, and laughing at two precocious cats. A lot of her time is also devoted to phone call avoidance and her hatred of cooking.
She loves chocolate, wine, pizza, and naps, along with reading and writing romance. These loves don’t leave much time for housework, much to the chagrin of her husband of nearly two decades. Who would pick cleaning the house over a nap or a good book? She uses any extra time to increase her fluency in sarcasm.
