“Fuckin’ awesome. Thanks!” I hug her and leave smiling the same way I went in.

I walk into Security with the smile still on my face. “Good day?” Taylor asks walking toward the classrooms.

“The best. I'm done with therapy. She's sending the paper to Prez.”

He hugs me. “Fuckin’ nice. No more dreams?”

I know he hasn't gone for help. “Not a one, Brother, and the flash never happened again. I don't think I was ready to deal until I had a reason to. The timing worked for me. Taking it all out and looking at it made it easier to deal. If you're ready, try it.” Knowing only the little bit he shared with me I can't tell him it's his time to deal. I know I wasn't ready.

“Yeah. I'm happy for you Sheila. I love seeing you without the pain in your eyes.” He walks into a class and I watch him. He's not ready.

I get to mine and smile at Eliza signing, ‘I'm done with therapy’ and she comes running to hug me almost bowling me down. The guys laugh.

“I'm so happy for you! This is a day for celebrating!” She signs she's pregnant. I hug her so damn happy. She was worried and I lost her last baby for her so it worried me too.

I blink my eyes a couple of million times and we start class. She's pregnant keeps popping in my head, but we get through it. After class we get a drink in the break room and I try not to watch Darren kiss her. “Enough already! He's going to do you in the closet again and we have more classes.”

He laughs and lets her go. I congratulate him and get the biggest smile. I'm so fuckin’ glad they're together. They fit together perfectly.

I'm surprised when Prez walks in. He has a coffee maker and fridge in his office. He walks to me and pulls me up. “I'm fuckin’ proud of you. You got your life back and you're happier than I've ever seen you.”

I hug him back. “Thanks Prez.”

He looks at Darren. “She's done with therapy. No restrictions Brother.”

  Darren smiles signing, 'Fuckin’ nice.'

“Yeah.” I check the time and drag Eliza down to the classroom.

These are the old PD officers. We go through call procedures and I get some eye rolls. I look at Eliza.

“Call for the body cam,” she tells me then looks at the class. “The eye rolling is why you're here.”

I walk out letting her talk and call Ops. Jason will put it up on our board. When I come in the board flashes on. We watch the whole thing right down to Driscoll taking the gun from me without anyone saying a word.

“The first mistake was the officers showing so late. They got the call the same time we did. You saw when they showed and we were farther away. We were their backup. You know what they were doing? They finished eating and stopped for coffee. You know why?” No one answered. “Their body cams showed them saying HS can handle it. A domestic dispute call. Thinking backup was seconds away we went in and got the boy out.”

Eliza moves forward. “Every mistake that could have been made was. An officer died on the scene because the PD decided HS could handle it. We are partnered with you, not the maid service meant to hand you the perps. You roll you're fuckin’ eyes at my partner again, you might as well just get up and walk the fuck out. HS did not die at that scene, one of yours did. Wake the fuck up. You're here because you've shown someone you're fuckin’ lazy.”

I throw her chin. “If you don't pass these classes you lose your job. No one wants to work with you and we won't put our Brothers in jeopardy because you want to play clean-up crew. We have a Clean-up crew and you would not make the cut. Anyone wanting out, get the fuck out. If you stay you show us a reason to keep you.”

I look around and see everyone is listening. Not bad. “So, from the beginning, you get a call and what happens?” Everyone raises their hand.

In the market the kids are good. I think this mainly because we see kids screaming and arguing for what they want and I'm fuckin’ glad they aren't mine. Brandon holds Stella's hand walking on the side of me. They watch the crabs in the tank while I'm getting meat to grill. When I'm done I tell them we need veggies. Stella does her little dance making me laugh. We get corn and onions and Brandon brings me applesauce saying they like this one because it's fresh. I put it in the basket and walk them to the register. Brandon watches a little girl yelling at her mom and looks at me. I shake my head letting him know it isn't the way to act. He helps put the food in the bags and takes Stella's hand again. Good fuckin’ brother. The lady tells him he's a good helper and he's proud signing it to Stella. She stomps her feet making little noises. I laugh and hold his hand walking out. I saw Strapper at another register watching, but didn't look at him. Tiny beat the fuck out of him, I'm surprised he's back here so soon. I heard he had a hospital stay up there.

I get the kids and food in and head home. Coming through the gate the guard is smiling. I throw him chin wondering what that's all about. When I turn I see it. “Fuck.”

I leave the truck at the corner and walk the kids and bags through Taylor, Brantley and Jared’s yards. Stella's diaper bag, my laptop, the cut, and the groceries all on my shoulder or in my hands. I feel like a fuckin’ pack mule. Brandon has his little backpack on so that's something. When we get to the house I help Stella up the stairs and walk in. Fuck, there is no fuckin’ way we can stay here. I look up and see the sky. I put everything on the plastic covered couch and pick up Stella. “Hold my loop Brandon.” He grabs my belt loop but he's looking all over the place. “Ready?” He nods looking up at me. “Danny!” I hear a yell and look up at where the ceiling used to be.

His head appears. “I'll come down.” Since I'm seeing the sky from the living room I think this is a great idea. He walks in from the kitchen. That was fuckin’ fast. He smiles. “The back stairs.”

“We didn't have stairs this morning.”

He smiles and tells me to come see the plans. Oh fuck. It was beds. All we needed were beds. “The two rooms were small. You'd never fit more kids with what you had. I called Little Ben and he said do what I have to, so we went up. You'll have three bedrooms, a big bathroom and a bonus room over the garage. Your bedroom down here gets bigger and we'll put in a nice bathroom. It all works out nice.”

“We could have moved to my house.”

“Tiny's in there and says Sheila likes her garden and trees. She has a thing for the yard.”

I nod. “Tiny's in there?” This is not the day for this. I had a plan.

“He came with some Brothers and the kids to help. He's got food going out in the back.”

Fuckin’ great. “Where are we sleeping?” There is no fuckin’ way the kids can make it through all this safely. Tools, wood, pieces of insulation are everywhere and the fuckin’ ceiling is sky.

He looks around. “It did end up being a little bigger than we thought. I have help tomorrow. We'll run straight through and be done in two days.”

That doesn't tell me where we're sleeping. “Every room in my house is filled?”

“Yeah Brother. We have help staying in all the spare rooms there, at Alex's and the Officers.”

I nod and walk away. “Hey did you get a date yet?”

I stop and look at him. Seriously? “That was going to happen tonight.”

He looks surprised. “Sorry Brother. Two more days and we're out.”

I walk back to the couch and put Stella down so I can pick everything up again. We trek back to the truck and I call Darren. “Can you get Sheila off the schedule for two days?” She's on training rotation so he'll get her covered.

I call Jared. “I need someone to cover me for the next two days.” He'll get me covered.

I call Lee. “I need someone to check in with Tim. I'm off for two days starting now.” He'll get Tim covered and he's sorry about the house. He's got Prospects showing for the second shift now.

I call Sheila. “Where are you?”

“Security. I'll be out in twenty.”

“I'll pick you up in forty. Before you leave there look a
t the house. Don't react, don't call anyone, just look.”

“Okay.” She sounds happy so I'll go with it.

“I'll be there in forty, Lucky.”

She laughs. “Not going to do it.”

I drive us to the store and grab clothes and a screen tent. At the back of the garage I unload everything into the RV and drive us to Security. She's laughing when she sees it. She climbs in the door and kisses the kids. “I didn't know you still had this.” She kisses me and sits. “What the hell happened to the house?”

Seeing her in the passenger seat hits me hard. It’s where I wanted her to be when I took Nomad. “Danny thought the rooms were too small for more kids so Prez told him to do what he needs to. Spare rooms everywhere are now spoken for and my house is filled with Tiny, the kids and workers. We're covered for the next two days so we're out until this fuckin’ circus is done.”

She laughs. I look at her then back at the road. “I love it. Thanks for saving me from the crazy MC.”

She goes in the back and sits with the kids. I had a movie going for them hoping to keep them busy until we get to the lake. She's just sitting back down when I'm turning into a shopping center. “I got shit before we left but you'll need clothes for two days. The kids are done. I'll get the food.”

She nods and takes Stella with her while I go to the next store and get food with Brandon. We're putting it away when she walks in the door. “Perfect timing.” I kiss her and get the kids belted in with some fruit. We have a good twenty-minute ride then some set up time before dinner. Everyone is excited and happy, making me happy. My girl will get her cut and ring tonight just like I planned. Well almost.

  Chapter Twelve

  Two days

  Jax

It's just after three when we pull into the gate. “Once I clean it out I'll park it in my driveway.”

She's been smiling the whole time we've been gone. I love that smile. It's been good to spend time away from everything and everyone. I didn't realize how much I'd learn with just us. She even told me about the rape. She’s so fuckin’ strong. We make a good family. Brandon keeps Stella close. Even when he's doing his own thing, he watches out for her. Sheila helps when they need her, but lets them figure shit out on their own. That's what the Brothers used to do with the kids. I'm glad she isn't a nagging control freak. I guess she wouldn't be here if she was.

There are trucks still here, but the driveway is clear. I pull right in and shut it off. “Ready baby girl?”

She nods. “As I'll ever be.”

I get the kids unbuckled and Brandon waits to take Stella's hand. I lift them both up and carry them out then up the front stairs. They're as excited as Sheila. Walking in I'm relieved to see furniture and a ceiling. Walls are gone and I can see straight through to the back deck. There's a treehouse out there but I climb the stairs to the second floor.

Prospects are putting clothes away in the first room. It's a girl's and connected by a small archway to the next room. The archway must be three foot by two and has a track coming through high on the wall side. Since this has a pink theme I put Stella down. She's stomping her feet and Brandon is showing her all her new things. She has a pink tire swing and LED flowers on her wall. She climbs up onto the treehouse platform and makes little noises as she crawls into her bed.

“She's laughing.” Sheila looks at me with tears in her eyes. “Did you hear her? She's laughing.”

“Yeah.” I swallow and ask Brandon if he wants to see his room.

He runs to me and I lift him up. “Stella's a princess too Daddy.”

I nod walking out. “The girls are our princesses. We show them every day what they mean to us. That way they never forget how important they are.” He nods seriously. When I turn into his room Danny is standing there.

  “Well said Brother.”

I throw him chin and put Brandon down. He stands in front of me stunned. “I'm important too? This is my room?” I laugh kneeling down. He hugs me and I wipe his tears. “Brothers are important too. We take care of our own, but pay special attention to the girls. You do that every day. You watch over Stella and make sure she's safe. This is for the important Brothers that take care of their girls.” He turns looking around. He's got a bike in front of a screen. I laugh walking him all through the room. He climbs on his bed and smiles out looking around his new room. Danny shows him the safe room then explains about the secret. Stella comes in and they play with motorcycles on the tracks going into her room.

Danny shows us the rest of the house. He put in a slide at the back stairs making us laugh. It's his first one but he likes it.

He moved all the walls in the hall, it's now a bathroom, bedroom and office. “This is incredible. Thank you.”

“The best is your room. With the work you do we made sure you had a place to let it all go. The old ladies always help with this and we let them go on yours.”

I'm almost afraid to look. She's going to hate any frilly shit in there. She grabs my hand and pulls me in. It's my bedroom set with the same color as my room. I look at Danny and he smiles. “I love it,” she says and I don't say a word. She loves it is good enough for me. The bathroom is huge with a separate shower and garden tub. Amanda painted a wall for her and she notices it right away.

“You have a treehouse with zip line in the back, the basement has one finished room. It's big. We put your furniture down there. Kind of man cave style. Your gym equipment is in the small room down there. Safe room is in here. The kids each have one and the office has one that goes down to the basement. He shows us ours and the office. I saw Brandon's and Stella's is under the platform with a button to open it.

I man hug him. “I don't know how to thank you. Email the bill and I'll get us square.”

“I would but Tiny was fighting Little Ben over it. Little Ben says it shows they're all in for you and the kids and Tiny says he's got to show his family is important to him. I'm not really into fighting with people to take back money so I split it and sent them each half back.”

I laugh. “All right Brother. Thanks for getting it done. We have a date. The first Saturday Pres is not busy. She wants all her family and a big party by the water.”

He smiles. “Perfect. I'll get back to you. For Brandon we sent Joey money for an account for him. Maybe we can do the same for the wedding. It took them a while, but the Brothers are learning.” He kisses Sheila and slaps my back walking up the stairs saying he has something to tell Brandon. We walk through the rooms again and I'm amazed with all he's done is such a short time.

We hear Brandon laughing and go see what he's laughing about. They're on the back stairs going up the stairs to slide down again. “This will be awesome when it's raining.”

I kiss her head watching them. He holds Stella in front of him sliding down. I'm struck again by how protective he is.

“There's another surprise for you out back,” I tell him as they hit the bottom. He's up and running for the door with Stella keeping up making her little laugh noises. Sheila is crying again. I kiss her head and grab us beer as I follow her out. We sit and watch them run across the bridge to the treehouse, they look out the windows and door waving. Kids are fuckin’ funny.

  “This is the best day.”

I laugh. “That's what you said yesterday and the day before that.”

“They keep getting better. We need to get them cuts.”

I've thought about it. “Yeah.” She's been in mine since I gave it to her. I'd like to see the kids with my name on them too.

“Let me up baby. I'll get the food in and get dinner going.”

  She stands. “I'll help.”

“No. I got it. Watch your babies play; it won't take long.” She walks across the bridge and I watch her bend to look in the door. Fuck. I turn away and get my shit done thinking about taking her in my bed. She always has those damn tight jeans on, showing that ass. I think I get turned on more because I know what's on under them. The women and their panties are like a legend. I never e
xpected Sheila to be part of that. I'm fuckin’ glad she is. Since she doesn't talk about it, I don't, but I got new coming on a schedule. The MC are masters at the all in shit. I'll take all their advice and use every bit of it.

After dinner we get the kids washed in their new bathroom. It's locker room style but has a separate room with a tub. They even put two toilets with pink and blue doors. Danny's crazy with building and I'm glad we get to benefit from it.

While Stella takes a bath I show Brandon how to shower. He thinks this is cool and tells Sheila all about how you shower. I just laugh. She gets Stella out of the tub and dried and she runs for the toilet with the pink door. Sheila laughs and sits her down on it. Me and Brandon stand against the wall laughing. When she pees I stop. She's like a year old, almost. Drake said she was born in the summer. That's two weeks away.

Sheila looks at me and I shrug. I thought kids didn't learn that until later. Like three or something. She claps for her and Brandon comes over and claps where she can see him. I walk out. I don't know a fuckin’ thing about training kids, but clapping seems weird.

They're down and happy. I pull Sheila away and sit on the deck looking at the treehouse. “Tiny was proud, he said Danny out did himself this time. He loves the slide. I sent the video with them on it.”

“That's good. We need to invite them down. Show we're appreciative.”

She nods. “Yeah. Maybe next week.” We talk about everything until there's nothing left and I pull her to bed. “I like your furniture better than mine.”

“I'm glad, it has a grid on the top of the frame, when you're ready we can use it.”

I get the shy look and pull her to me by the front of her jeans. “Okay.”

“Seeing you in these tight jeans, my name on your back and my bed in this room is fuckin’ with my control. I want your mouth on me baby girl.” She's on her knees pulling my dick out before I can get another word in. “Talented fuckin’ mouth baby.”
