“He's going to be all right, right Jax?”
“Yeah Alex. We'll make sure of it.”
“You aren't giving him away right? Like me and Ally. Dads kept us and are always our dads.”
Jesus. “I don't know Alex. He's not mine to keep or give away.”
“But he doesn't have a family no more. You could be his dad like Stella. Right?”
I look at Trapper, but he's no help. I wish he could see. “Dads say when someone needs strong the Brothers share it. I can help. I'm a good Goodwill Officer. I'll help share our strong so you can keep him. He doesn't have no strong, but you do. Sheila's strong too. All the Brothers help and will be strong when you need us.”
“Yeah Brother.”
“You're going to keep him and not give him away?”
I laugh. “I will Brother. Maybe Sheila will talk to me again next year.”
Trapper laughs. “She may surprise you.”
“I hope to fuck you're right Trapper.”
Alex hugs me watching out for Brandon. “She will. She loves everyone that's hurt. Brandon is hurt so Sheila will love him. Right Trapper?”
I'm shaking my head and Trapper laughs. “I think you got it right Alex. Let's get this done so he can bring his surprise home to Sheila.”
I lay Brandon down while they finish the bike. I walk out the bay and call Prez. He's got me covered with the lawyer and laughs.
“Don't even start. Your fuckin’ Goodwill Ambassador is determined this kid doesn't get given away.”
He laughs and tells me not to take a dog.
“She'll fuckin’ shoot me for sure.” I hang up while he’s still laughing. Fuckin’ kids.
I call Danny. “Your fuckin’ kid is killing me. I took a boy, so he's not given away according to Alex.” He's fuckin’ laughing. “I'm calling to make sure another fuckin’ trailer never makes it down here. Sheila lost her shit over it being parked in the grass. Tell them to send a fuckin’ card like normal people. If it hits the yard I'm sending it back.” At least he stopped laughing.
“I will Brother. What's the story on the boy?”
“Domestic dispute. Father had a gun on the kid. Sheila shot him. The mother shot a cop then herself. Family doesn't want him.”
“What the fuck is wrong with people?”
“I don't know Brother. Can you keep them from sending shit?”
“Yeah. You have a date? I need it first and I'll keep shit from hitting your gate.”
“What date?”
He laughs. “When you're getting married.”
Holy shit! “I just took a kid. Just figured out I love her and she took a fuckin’ kid. You think we can breathe for a fuckin’ minute before everyone goes crazy for a wedding?”
“Don't wait too long. She'll fuckin’ shoot you for dragging it out. I get the date and you don't see a trailer.”
“Fuckin’ Brother, you're as bad as Alex! Fine I'll give you the date when I get it.”
He laughs. “Where do you think he learned it from? Hey you need a dog for him?” I hang up on him before I end up with a fuckin’ dog too.
Fuck, she's going to fuckin’ kill me. I make it into the bay and my phone rings. “Yeah.”
“He's going up to the MC for classes with Kate's Center.” I look at the phone. It's Driscoll but I don't get what he's saying.
“Okay.”
“If I knew he was harassing her I would have stopped it. He's a good second, but this throws me. He's never done anything like this before. I've asked fuckin’ everyone.”
Fuckin’ Strapper was bothering her again! “Where is he?”
“Brother, Eliza wrecked his face. He's got a broken nose. It was handled.”
Eliza? “Where's Sheila?
“I gave them the day.”
“Where is he?”
“Look Jax, I was just giving you the call so you know it was handled. He's probably at the yard by now.”
I hang up and call Deirdre. “I'm keeping him. Prez will get me paper on him. Can you send what you have to Prez?” She's on it.
I call Tiny and tell him about Brandon and I need to bring him home tonight for the first time to meet Stella and get that he's staying. He thinks this is good. I tell him I can't make it up there, but that I want Strapper watched and why. He's fuckin’ pissed and I smile. He trained Strapper. He's going to un-train Strapper tonight. I thank him and hang up.
There is no fuckin’ way I'm getting anything more done so I call Lee and get Prospects to get me a bed and boy shit. I tell him that he's five and doesn't seem to know much about anything current. He's handling it.
I tell Tim to find me a small frame so we can make Brandon a bike. He gets excited and asks if we're matching mine. I smile. “No, Sheila's.”
Trapper laughs. “Nice move Jax. She's not going to shoot you tonight.”
I'm not so sure about that, but I don't say anything. Brandon wakes up when we have his bike half built. He has no clue what we're doing but helps us get it together. Tim has spray paint and starts painting the bike the smoked to royal blue like Sheila's. He lets Brandon spray the front fender and we get everything back on. When the seat goes on we try it out.
This one is running faster than the twin’s bikes. “Where'd the motor come from?”
Alex smiles. “I used the lift motor from the truck bed. It's better than the small ones 'cause he's bigger. Right?”
Trapper laughs. Fuckin’ Brothers. I look at Tim. “Get a motor in for tomorrow.” He walks away laughing.
I get Brandon and the bike in the truck and we go for Stella. I tell them I need to get Brandon in and the woman smiles. Prez already called. Fuckin’ nice. Brandon likes the idea of coming here tomorrow to play with the kids. We get a tour then Stella.
Once we're all packed in, Brandon talks to Stella. I tell him her ears don't work so she talks with her hands and we'll teach him so he can talk to her. He keeps talking to her and I smile.
Prospects are everywhere moving shit all over. She's going to shoot me. Done helps me get the kids in. He knows about Stella and I introduce him to Brandon.
“This is his first night here. He'll be staying with us from now on.”
Done looks surprised. “Does Sheila know?” I shake my head no. He tells the Brothers to hurry before she comes home and shoots us all. Fuck. That's not a good sign.
Brandon tells him about the school he's going to tomorrow and his new friends at the garage. I carry Stella in and think it's not so bad.
“Sheila doesn't know you did this does she?”
I look at Jason in the doorway and shake my head no. “She's going to fuckin’ shoot you.” I just look at him. He knows her better than anyone. “I'm just fuckin’ with you Brother. I heard Done.”
I'm not sure if this is right or wrong now and I'm wondering if I should take her guns before she gets in the house. Stella wants down so I set her down. Brandon takes her hand and walks with her to the toy box. She opens it and gives him a car. He gets one for her and they sit driving cars around the living room.
I tell Jason to watch them and look for dinner. Not seeing anything for five of us I order from the restaurant. It will be here by the time Sheila walks in. She can't shoot me with witnesses. Who the fuck am I kidding? She doesn't care about witnesses.
I walk down the hall and look at the rooms. They made him a real room. It's cute with a small bed and room for him to play. Sheila will like this.
They come running with Jason following. “Nice. You need Uncle Danny to make them rooms if you’re staying here.”
I nod not sure if Sheila will kick me out or keep me. I'll decide tomorrow about the room. This is good for now. It's a cute room.
“I ordered dinner. I got you meatloaf.”
“Sorry Brother. I need to go.”
I look at him. “Where?”
He smiles. “I'm not anywhere close when Sheila gets here.”
Fuck. She's going to shoot me.
“Relax Brother I'm fuckin’ with you
. I'm helping Alex give Prince a bath. It's a Goodwill thing.” He watches the kids playing then looks at me. “You want a dog for him?”
“Are you fuckin’ nuts? She's going to shoot me now. She'll fuckin’ kill me if I get a dog too.”
He's laughing hysterically. What the hell? He walks away.
“I didn't want to feed you anyway! I was just being nice because you're her brother.” He's still fuckin’ laughing.
When I look back at the kids, Stella is telling Brandon they're friends. I sit with them and show him how to sign the words she knows. I give them a new one, 'brother.'
When they get it I point to Brandon and sign it again. I give them, sister and point to Stella. They get it and Stella points to me and does sister. I laugh and do, ‘sister-girl, brother-boy’. She points to me and does, ‘brother’. I laugh.
“How do you make dad?”
I swallow hard and show him. He does, ‘dad-boy’ and Stella does it pointing at me. I lean over and kiss her then sign, 'yes'. She sits on my lap and makes noise.
“She's singing for you. I like Stella. Are you going to keep her too?”
Jesus what is with the keeping everyone? I sign, 'yes, sister stays.' Stella stomps her feet.
“Does she have a bike like me?”
I forgot all about the bike. “Yeah, hers is smaller.” I stand up and carry her out to the truck. When she sees the bike she's bouncing to get down. I put her down and pull his bike down for him. She runs to the garage and I help her get her bike out and helmet on. It's pink and cute as hell. Tim got the Prince logo on the helmet and tank in hot pink. I move the truck and let them ride. They're cute riding around not hitting each other.
I hear Sheila's bike and watch her come down the road. She stops on the road looking from them to me. Oh shit. She isn't smiling or yelling. I walk toward her. She drops the stand and watches as Stella runs holding Brandon's hand. She stops and signs 'brother'. Oh fuck.
Sheila looks at me. Brandon laughs and signs, 'sister.' “I don't know how to make Mom.” He shrugs. She looks from him to me.
I put my hands up. “I know it's a lot. If you're going to shoot me can you make it a leg or something?” She's not saying anything. “Maybe not in front of the kids.” She starts crying. “Fuck.” I take the step to her and pull her off the bike holding her head to my chest. “I'm sorry baby girl. Deirdre wasn't keeping him. I couldn't let them give him away.” She cries more. Fuck.
“Say something. Anything will work here.” I hold her chin up.
“I love you.”
“Thank fuck. I thought you were going to shoot me.”
“Not today.” She wipes her face.
Stella is pulling on my pants. I lift her up and she kisses Sheila making her laugh. She signs, 'I love you,' and I laugh. She's too fuckin’ cute, but I think that saved my life today so I kiss her cheek. I pull the helmet off her and set her down.
“Come see what the Prospects did.”
“Let me pull my bike in.” She gets her bike in the garage and the kids get theirs in on the side of hers.
I laugh. We'll need a bigger garage. Brandon takes her hand and walks her to his room. I carry Stella behind them.
I set her down knowing who's knocking and get the food from the guard. Setting the plates and silverware I call them for dinner. Brandon comes running with Stella's hand in his. He stays right at her side. He's going to be a good brother. Sheila is behind them smiling.
'He's not mad I shot his father,' she signs.
'Don't think he liked him much. Don't try to take him to McDonald’s.'
She laughs. “Okay.”
We eat and get the kids washed. On the deck they're playing with motorcycles and dolls. Every doll is a jump the motorcycles go over. Sheila thinks it's funny.
Getting the kids in bed is easier than I thought. Brandon watches us get Stella down then climbs in his bed without a word. Sheila sits and tells him she's glad he's here. He looks relieved. Shit, I should have said more for him.
She bends and kisses his head. When she moves I tell him if he needs us he can just call and we'll hear him. He nods and turns over. I kiss his head and tell him he was a good brother today.
Walking out I grab the monitor and Sheila's hand. We set the monitors on the table and I hand her a beer. She sits against me throwing relief. “How did you end up with Brandon?”
I tell her about what Eliza said and asking Deirdre to bring him over. Once it's straight in her head I ask about Strapper. She's got me laughing, but I want to beat his fuckin’ head in myself. I tell her I called about the trailer then Tiny. She's not happy I called Tiny, but it's done and she lets it go.
When there's nothing left to say we sit enjoying the night sounds. When a bike comes or goes I know who's home or leaving. It's nice to just sit. It's been an eventful day.
“You want Danny to make them rooms?”
“He'll show whether we want him to or not. I love all the rooms he’s made, so I'm good with that.” She stands. “Let's go in, it’s chilly out here.”
I stand and take the monitors with me then drop them on the table and the bottles in the recycle bin. When I start down the hall she's standing in Brandon's doorway. I like the look of that and scrape my foot so she knows I'm behind her. She looks back with a smile. “We need to take the side off the crib before she falls.”
Resting my chin on her head I smile. Fuckin’ kids. Stella is on the floor next to Brandon’s bed. “I'll do it tomorrow, tonight I'll put the mattress on the floor for her.” I get the mattress and carry her blanket and stuffed monkey setting it down by Brandon's bed. Sheila lays Stella on it so gentle then kisses her head. I slide it over and pull Sheila out.
My turn. I get us undressed and walk her over to the bed. I make sure she can see me in the mirror, moving her hair I bite her neck and lick up to her ear. She moans when I bite her lobe holding it in my teeth as I slowly release it. I push her shoulders down and kneel. My favorite position is behind her. I'm glad she’s willing to let me do this, but I move slow until she's moving for me. With her ass at my face I bite just under and get the movement I'm waiting for. I spread her legs and keep my mouth biting and nipping her ass while my fingers slide in. Fuck she's ready. Putting both hands on her ass I trail kisses to her pussy and she arches for me. “Fuckin’ sweet baby girl.” She's rolling her hips with my hands squeezing her ass putting my tongue where she needs it. Fuckin’ sexy as hell. She's off, but I can't stop. When she starts moving again I move away getting a groan and smile.
Pulling her up I sit on the chair. I moved it yesterday so she can see the mirror. I turn her and lift. “Legs on the arms.” She lifts her legs up and I sit her on my lap so she's facing the mirror. “You keep your hands on you. I'll move you.” She moans and I hold my dick sliding her down. Fuck. “Nothing like the feel of your hot, slick pussy sliding down right the fuck there.” I moan with her when she hits my legs. Jesus.
I move her and she's getting louder. She likes this as much as I do and it pushes me to move faster. “Hands baby girl.” She gives a low purring sound and I'm pulling her harder. “Take it Sheila. Put a hand on your pussy and take it baby girl.” Her hand moves and I watch her head go back. “Yeah baby, just like that.” Looking down watching her ass hitting against me, and I'm done. Fuck. “Going harder baby.” I pull her down hard and she's off. I move her until I can't then hold her down deep. “Your pussy stroking me feels so fuckin’ good baby.” I slide her legs off the arms and sit until she comes down. Every fuckin’ way is better. “Love you Sheila.” I kiss her head wrapping my arms around her. She moans for me and I smile.
Chapter Eleven
Three weeks
Jax
I have her cut and the ring. Tonight I'll give them to her and get the fuckin’ Brothers off my back. You'd think we were together for fuckin’ years with the way they nag. I smile. I'm not saying shit, but I can't wait to see my name on her. Every fuckin’ thing she does is better than I thought it would be.
<
br /> “You want company?” I look over the counter and smile.
“I didn't expect to see you Danny. What brings you down?” We just got rid of Tiny and Nancy again last week. Fuckin’ 'rents haunt me.
“Rooms. Heard there were some kids that sleep on the floor so I thought I'd make them some beds. Fuckin’ parents don't know any better, they’re new at this shit.”
I laugh. Fuckin’ Brothers. “Sheila said you'd show.”
He smiles. “Always liked that girl. What do they like?”
I give him all I know. They don't know characters enough to say they have a favorite, but they like playing with the motorcycles. I tell him about them jumping all the other toys with them and he says he's got it. I give him colors and he walks away. Sweet!
I look at her schedule and smile. She's got an early day with therapy in the morning. I have the dogs with Alex, but I'm out at three. I think about dinner and work that plan into my day. With everyone set, I get to work.

Sheila
I pull my phone before I go in and smile. He hopes it’s a good one. I'm surprised by all the little things he does to make the days good. Texts, calls, little videos of the kids signing to me and at home he always puts me before him. It makes me do little things for him so he sees I appreciate it. Now I know how the Brothers keep their women. Everyone works for it. I can't say I ever thought about it, but looking back I see all those little things and how they matter. I'm smiling when I walk in. I matter.
We talk for a while but it doesn't feel like therapy. She asks about the kids and how they're adjusting then about Jax. I answer everything and she says we're done.
“That went by fast.”
She laughs. “You don't need me anymore Sheila. If you need me, you know how to find me but you're right where you should be. You're thriving and happy. Putting the past behind you has set you free. Now you can go live with your new family and man without anything dragging you down. I wish all my clients had your support. I'll get the paperwork over to Mr. Knight right away.”
