She gave me a smirk. “No. Definitely not.”

“Then one of my boys will be with you in a second,” I said. “Take a seat.”

“How about you do my ink?” she said. “You clearly run the show here.”

“Actually, I run the register,” I snapped. “So, take a seat.”

“A man with a backbone…I like it.” She turned to my dad and checked him out up and down. “Your brother is cute too.” Then she wandered to a chair and sat down.

I turned back to my dad like nothing happened.

“The ladies love me,” Dad said. “I’m just irresistible.”

“Well, she went for me first then hit on you second.”

“She was still digging me more,” he said.

“Well, you can have her,” I said. “She’s got nothing on Trinity.”

He smiled. “If Trinity heard you she’d be dancing on the spot.”

“She shouldn’t be surprised,” I said.

“Well, I guess I’m going to head back to my shop,” he said. “It’s actually pretty quiet without you around.”

“And the toilets must be disgusting from not being cleaned,” I jabbed.

“I’ll have Razor take care of it,” he said with a shrug. “But seriously, it’s just not the same.” He gave me an affectionate look.

“I miss it too,” I admitted.

“Well, you know where to find me if you get lonely,” he said. “Don’t be a stranger.”

  “I won’t.”

Dad walked out then passed the windows until he was gone.

I didn’t realize how much I missed working with my dad until he mentioned it.

The door opened again and Trinity walked inside. “Hey,” she said brightly when she saw me behind the counter. She wore a yellow dress with nude wedges.

“Hey, baby,” I said. “You’re looking fine in that dress.” I leaned over the counter and kissed her.

“Yeah? I thought you might like this.” She spun around for me.

“I’d like to see it on the floor of my office.”

She rolled her eyes. “I came to see if you wanted to get lunch—and only lunch.”

“Only lunch?” I asked. “That sounds lame.”

“Well, if we have a quick lunch then we might have some time…” She gave me a knowing look.

“You have my attention.” I shoved my phone into my pocket then jumped over the counter. “I’ll be back in thirty,” I said to the guys.

“Excuse me?” the inked girl rose from her chair and crossed her arms over her chest. “My tattoo?”

“They’ll get you when they’re ready,” I said.

Trinity shot her a jealous glare.

“I want you to do it,” she insisted.

Who the hell was this bitch? “Well, I’m busy.”

  “Then I’ll make an appointment.”

I wanted to smack her. “I’m not for sale. They can do it or you can go somewhere else.”

“Your business won’t last long if that’s how you treat your customers,” she noted.

“And that pretty hair won’t stay on your scalp much longer if that’s how you treat my fiancé,” Trinity hissed.

Oh no. Trinity was involved. And that was never a good thing.

The inked girl smirked while she looked at Trinity. “You like blondes now?”

Now? What did that mean? “Do we know each other?”

“No…I guess not.” She moved around us then walked outside. She gave me one final look before she walked up the sidewalk.

  “Who was that?” Trinity asked.

“Honestly, I don’t have a fucking clue.” I tried to search my memory and come up with a name. But I found nothing. I didn’t even recognize her face.

  “Are you lying?” Trinity asked.

“No,” I snapped. “If I knew her I would tell you.”

  “What did she want?”

“To get some ink,” I said. “She didn’t specify what. But she wanted me to do it.”

“Well, I don’t like her,” she said. “And if I see her in the shop again I’ll kick her ass.”

“Baby, I know you’re feisty but I’m pretty sure this chick could take you.”

“Just because she has tattoos and piercings?” she asked incredulously. “Well, that’s a stereotype.”

  “And it’s a stereotype for a reason.”

  Love Lives On

Book Twenty-Four of The Forever and Ever Series

  May 11th, 2015

  Dear Reader,

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed reading Skye and Cayson’s story as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you could leave a short review, it would help me so much! Those reviews are the best kind of support you can give an author. Thank you!

  Wishing you love,

  E. L. Todd

  Announcement:

How many books will there be in the Forever and Ever Series?

I've gotten this question a lot over the past few weeks. I don't have an answer because I don't know what that answer is. I write these books because I love the characters and enjoy living through them. I will continue to write these novels as long as someone wants to read them. I also intend to pursue other novels while the series is going, if I can find the time and overcome the finger cramps. So, it could continue for ten more books, maybe twenty, maybe more. I honestly don't know.

The main reason why I love this series so much is because you love it too. These characters are real to me, and I care about their lives even though they only exist in my mind. On days when I'm sad, I think of them. On days when my reality is too difficult, I think of them.

I appreciate all the support everyone has given me. To those fans who eagerly await the release every Monday, you mean the world to me. To those fans who write reviews and give me a reason to keep going, I appreciate it more than words can say. And for those people who take time out of their day just to contact me and say my books meant something to them, I absolutely adore you.

  Thank you, and read on.

  Announcement:

I’ve released a new series called Beautiful Entourage. It contains five standalone novels about a group of five beautiful male escorts and how they attempt to resist the women who hire them for their skills. I’m selecting a few people to read and review the entire series of five books. If you would like me to consider you as a possible reviewer, send me an email at eltodd42@gmail.com
