Mr. Reigert’s face softened. “Well,” he said grumpily, “I’ll think about it.” He looked at Nancy. “Nancy Drew, I don’t know how I can ever thank you,” he said. “My daughter and I are back together, and it looks as if I’m going to get a fine son-in-law in the bargain. What can I do to repay you?”
Nancy stood up and stretched. “I’ll just settle for a walk through the garden—with Ned,” she said, smiling at him.
Ned stood up and put his arm around her shoulders. “I can’t think of a better ending.”
