More laughter came from the crowd as they smiled at each other.
“Levi. Today I take you as my husband to love, honor, and cherish until death do us part. I will love you with my entire being forever. You are my soul, my life, and my life’s partner. I know we will argue and I’ll always win, but know that I love you no matter what.” He slipped the wide gold band on Levi’s left ring finger.
“Curtis. Today I take you as my husband to love, honor, and cherish until death do us part. Although we will argue, and no you won’t win all the time, we will find love in our hearts for each other, any children we may be graced with, and our families. You are my life, my love, and my forever partner. I love you.” Levi slipped a matching gold band on his left right finger.
They turned to face the preacher.
“By the power vested in me by the state of Oklahoma, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss your spouse.”
He grabbed Levi by the lapbels of his fancy tuxedo jacket, hauled him in close and smashed his mouth against Levi’s lips. He’d been waiting for this day for months and now, Levi finally belonged to him in every sense of the word. They were forever bound in the eyes of God, the state of Oklahoma, but most importantly in each others’ eyes.
When they finally separated, he whispered, “I love you.”
Levi said, “I love you too.”
“Ladies and gentlemen. I give you Mr. Levi Bond and his husband, Mr. Curtis Walsh.”
