  Jo’s jaw dropped “Twice a year, what do you mean?”

  “Oh dear, because you made me so worried I have said too much” sighed Tchu.

  “Look Tchu if I am going to be a useful member of Sceriae society, I really feel that I need to know all I can about its customs, way of life, history and all that. I am used to using my brain, was going to university, and hoped to work with endangered species, after I got my degree. Surely you can see that I will whither and die if I am expected to live as a brood mare, with nothing else to occupy my mind” Jo said pushing her hands through her hair.

  “Jo, Jo please be calm. You are right. I have only known you for a short while and I understand how frustrated you must be. Lord Acorus has known you for an even shorter time, although the reason he took you for himself was because he saw the kind of person you are, He was worried that if the wrong male possessed you, you would die fighting him, so please be patient and give yourselves time to settle down and really get to know each other. Now please have a shower, massage and rest before your food is ready” and Tchu pulled her into her arms and hugged her. Jo was so surprised that she just stood there, resting her face on Tchu’s forehead.

  Tsu and Tjai had stood where they were, not knowing what to do. They were extremely surprised by Jo’s speech and actions. Tchu nodded at them and patting Jo’s back spoke again “In time I am sure that if you speak with Lady Ileya, sensibly and calmly, she will tell you all you want to know. It is not my place to talk of private things about the Sceriae”.

  Tsu came up to Jo and taking her hand said “Come Jo we had a nasty shock today.

  I feel tired and I’m sure you must be tired too. You have been so strong and brave, but even brave people can suffer from the after effects of shock. A shower, massage and nap, before you eat with Kylie and Julie, will make you feel better”.

  Jo sighed and moving away from Tchu said “Yes, you are both right. I’ve always been impatient, as Gramps used to say, I’ve always wanted to run before I could walk. I can see that I must learn to be patient!” and with that she went through to the bathroom.

  She took off her clothes and stepped into the shower. As the water and soap jets hit her body, she found herself running her hands over her stomach and down to the top of her legs. As she stood there her body remembered showering with Acorus and how it had been. Her body was reacting as if he was there with her and she swayed, feelings of desire running through her. Suddenly she shook herself and came out of her reverie. ‘My god’ she thought ‘What is the matter with me? I’m getting sex mad’ and at that she quickly soaped and washed her hair. When the warm air came on she ran her fingers roughly through her hair, and twisted and turned so that she would dry quickly.

  When she was dry she called Tjai and lay down on the massage table. Today Tjai’s fingers seemed to touch nerve ends and she jumped and said “Gently Tjai. I feel a bit delicate tonight” Tjai nodded, looking thoughtful and took another bottle of oil off the shelf. As her strong hands gently but firmly massaged the oil into Jo’s skin, a strong scent of musk and strongly scented flowers surrounded her. As usual Jo nodded off to sleep, and Tjai covered her with a lily white cloth, and left her to her nap. When Jo woke up she was still feeling strange. She sat up and called out to Tsu, who bustled into the bathroom with a clean Kaftan over her arm “Get dressed Jo, you have slept for longer than usual and Kylie and Julie are already waiting for you”.

  Jo slipped the Kaftan over her head and as she did, the strong musky perfume of the oil Tjai had used enveloped her and made her feel even stranger.

  “Tsu this isn’t the usual perfume Tjai uses on me. I don’t know if I like it” and she moved her head round to sniff her skin.

  “I don’t know what Tjai usually uses, but maybe that is to help calm you. Now you are dressed, food will be brought in for you all” and she hurried Jo through to the main chamber.

  On seeing her Julie gave a cheer “Excuse me if I don’t get up to applaud the hero of the hour, but these two” and she patted her stomach “are just itching to get out!”

  If possible her stomach looked even bigger although the rest of her was as slim and healthy as a very young girl.

  Jo said “Does that mean you’re going to have the babies soon?”

  Julie rubbed her stomach and replied “If experience is anything to go by, in another three or four hours. I wish the food would hurry up, I’m starving”.

  Jo looked at her in shock “Three or four hours, aren’t you in pain?”

  “No” laughed Julie “Thanks to my amazing machine”.

  “Machine?” asked Jo.

  Julie rolled onto her side and slid the back of her Kaftan up. Attached to the base of her spine was something that looked like a mobile phone. Jo sat on the couch beside Julie and looked at it closely. She couldn’t see any wires etc. It really was just a flat thin case “Does that stop you having labour pains?” she asked.

  “Oh yes, it’s fantastic. There is one thing to say about a planet that has females running all its major laboratories, hospitals etc. One of the first things they invented was a machine to make having a baby easy and pain free. Don’t ask how it works. Just be glad it does”.

  “But don’t you still have to push? That must be uncomfortable and tiring”.

  “We only have to push during the last few contractions. The machine does it all until then, you almost feel as if you could run a marathon after, it’s so good!” Julie laughed, “Not that I’ve ever had any desire to run a marathon, far too energetic”.

  At that moment their meal arrived and Julie filled her platter with gusto. Jo and Kylie helped themselves to the food with more decorum and sat companionably side by side on a sofa. Kylie turned to Jo and said “You were so brave today; I couldn’t have done what you did. I’m such a pathetic coward”.

  “You are not a coward” Jo replied “I just happened to see that creature run at Acorus and I’m afraid I just reacted instinctively”.

  Julie cut in “Kylie told me all about it and I must say you reacted brilliantly. You saved his life and I expect you’ll be very well rewarded”.

  “It was nothing” and Jo laughed “a bit like Saturday night in Leeds city centre!”

  All the girls laughed at that and ate in silent enjoyment. As Jo leaned forward to fill her tumbler with wine she once again smelled that musky perfume on herself. She frowned and Kylie saw her “What’s up, Jo?”

  “It’s this oil Tjai massaged me with today. I don’t think I like it very much, what do you think?” she asked. Kylie quickly said “It’s ok” but Jo saw the look she exchanged with Julie and asked “What’s going on?”

  “Nothing they said in unison and then Julie changed the subject by asking Jo what she had bought. Which reminded Jo that she didn’t know what had happened to her shopping. Kylie told her that Tsu and Tsera had brought it home, but she didn’t know what had happened to Jo’s earrings. Jo explained that she had put them in her tunic pocket so assumed that Tsu had put them somewhere safe.

  Tchaka came into the room and going to Julie put her hand on her stomach saying “It’s nearly time Julie, we must get you to the delivery room”.

  “Damn we were just settling down to a nice long chat, about clothes and jewellery” moaned Julie.

  “There will be plenty of time for that” Tchaka said looking serious “The nurses are bringing a chair and it’s time to go”.

  For some reason Jo felt really nervous. She didn’t know why, because Julie and Kylie were so matter of fact about it. The main door opened and two female Escorii, who Jo didn’t know, came into the room following a chair that floated, as all the vehicles on Scerior did. Julie heaved herself up off the sofa, and sat in the chair. Laughing and chatting to the Escorii as they escorted her from the room. Jo looked at Kylie who was eating, quite unconcernedly “She will be alright, won’t she?” she asked />
  Kylie said “Yeah, she’ll be fine. Piece of cake. Jo don’t look so worried. Oh dear, I think we’ve all forgotten how new you are to all this, and that’s because you’ve settled in so easily”.

  Jo laughed without humour “I may seem settled on top, but like a duck I’m paddling like mad underneath. Everything is so hard to take in. Mystery after mystery and surprise after surprise”.

  Kylie leaned over and hugged her “The reason we are all treating you as if you’ve been here forever is... You’ve not had hysterics, you haven’t done anything stupid, you’ve made it easy for me and Julie to accept you straight away” she was ticking the points off on her fingers and she said “Acorus likes you, it’s obvious you like him, and to round it all off you saved his life”.

  The two girls finished their meal, talking about the shopping they had done, and also about the incident with the blue haired man. After a while Kylie yawned deeply, “I’m so tired. We live such a quiet life; I’m not used to all the hustle and bustle we saw today. If you don’t mind Jo I think I’m ready for my bed”.

  Jo said that she understood and that Kylie must go to bed, and as she was tired too, bed seemed like a good idea.

  Kylie hugged Jo and kissing her goodnight went into her bed chamber. She sat for a while in deep thought, trying to make some sense of what had happened to her over the last few days. It didn’t feel like a few days, she felt as if she had been on Scerior forever.

  Then her thoughts turned to Acorus. ‘Whoa’ she thought ‘big mistake’ as her body responded as it had done in the shower.

  Shaking herself mentally she stood up and wandered round the room. It really was beautifully built and furnished and she wondered who had been responsible for its decor. Everything was made to make life easy. The white stone that it was built from looked cold but when she put her hand on it, it was comfortably warm. ‘What a pity ‘she mused’ if only the Sceriae would make contact with the people of Earth, they would have so much to contribute. In her wandering she came close to the doors which led into the garden. They were unlocked so she pushed them open and stepped out into the starlit night.

  The scent of the flowers was strong but in a fresh spring way. She could hear the sound of running water, so she wandered along a path looking for the source of the noise. As she rounded a corner, between two larger bushes, ahead of her she saw a high wall with a waterfall running down across the uneven rocks. It fell into a pond surrounded by foliage and flowers, and was extremely beautiful.

  At the side of the pond stood a half enclosed gazebo, which, when she ventured inside turned out to be furnished with a large comfortable couch covered in cushions. She sank down onto it, suddenly realising how weary she was. As she sat there breathing in the scent and the sounds, she found herself disappearing into a dream like reverie. The million stars in the sky twinkled down on her, and as she gazed at them she thought of Earth and wondered where in the universe it was.

  Acorus came into the garden looking for her. He had gone straight to her bed chamber and when she wasn’t there, and the garden doors were open he had guessed where she was. As he came along the path towards the pond he was suddenly aware of the scent of her, overpowering the perfume of the garden plants it led him straight to her.

  He came along the path between the shrubs, and through the entrance to the gazebo saw her sitting there, lost in her own thoughts. The scent of her was igniting his passion and he swallowed hard, trying to control himself. He advised himself to go carefully, he did not want to hurt her or frighten her, but he knew he must have her. Quietly he murmured “Jo-Anna” and as she turned starlit eyes towards him, he realised that she was as filled with passion as he was.

  He moved quickly towards her, took her in his arms and with one fluid movement slid her Kaftan off and toppled her back onto the couch. Jo squealed, but with laughter, not fear and gazed at Acorus as he flung his tunic and trousers off. He flung himself down next to her, took her into his arms and kissed her passionately. Not giving her a chance to breath he ran his hand down her body until he found her most sensitive core.

  Jo was returning his kiss as passionately, delightful feelings running through her body, which was aflame and wanting him badly. As Acorus explored her with his hand she moaned and twisted with desire, and he quickly moved above her and entered her with one smooth thrust. She gasped at the size of him, but quickly settled into his rhythm. This was what she had been yearning for all day.

  As they moved together, delighting in each other’s body Acorus groaned as if in pain, before Jo could say anything his body shuddered and suddenly Jo was in pain. He seemed to explode within her and her body, felt as if it was filled right up to her chest. As she shouted with panic, Acorus grabbed her to him, so that she couldn’t struggle. She felt as if she was fighting for her life, but Acorus said to her “Relax Jo-Anna, brave one, you are not damaged, trust me and relax”.

  Jo listened to his gentle tone and allowed the tenseness to leave her body. As she relaxed she realised that she wasn’t hurt, but that Acorus was trapped inside her!

  “That’s right Jo. Just lie still for a while and all will be explained to you”.

  “What has happened, that’s never happened to us before?” she gasped as she discovered that talking was uncomfortable.

  “Lie as still as you can” he said “and I will tell you what has happened”.

  As Jo moved slightly to get comfortable, she inadvertently tightened her body around him. Acorus clenched his teeth but couldn’t stop the groan that escaped him “If you do that too often we will never separate!” he groaned.

  Jo realised that she had the power to disturb him, and unsympathetically tightened her muscles again to tease him. He pressed her down onto the couch and growled “You trollop, stop your little game or you’ll be sorry” but he laughed as he said it, so Jo knew that she hadn’t angered him. As he held her down he looked into her eyes and for a moment was overcome with the knowledge that this brave, intelligent and beautiful woman desired him as much as he desired her. He couldn’t stop himself from kissing her tenderly and was punished by the contraction of her muscles once again.

  “How do you do that?” he moaned “No other female has ever reacted like that”.

  “It’s amazing how horse riding and pelvic floor exercises strengthen those particular muscles” she grinned “Now please tell me what has happened. I assume we are not going to be like this forever!”

  Acorus made himself as comfortable as he could without squashing Jo and explained that Sceriae males only release their sperm when a female is producing fertile eggs, and that when a fertile egg is released, a male’s body senses it and explodes into the path of the egg, making sure that it is always fertilised. In that way males waste no energy, meaning that they could fuck for hours.

  “Big head, you’re not having fucking for hours now, are you?”

  “No but you see, Sceriae females only produce eggs twice a year”.

  Jo pondered on this for a while “But Acorus, what do males do for the rest of the year, if they can only have sex twice a year?”

  “We exercise, we fight, we travel to other planets” he replied.

  “But that’s not the same as making love, don’t you get frustrated?” she asked.

  “Not now” he grinned “Now we have found that human females will mate any time”.

  Jo slapped his shoulder “Be serious, I want to know so I can understand your way of life”.

  Acorus sighed and said “I knew you wouldn’t let me off without a full explanation, so I will tell you all our dark secrets. The Sceriae, as you know are a very old race. Originally we mated as humans do but as the females became superior in intelligence they were too involved in their work. Through their intelligence, and the males strength and desire for exploration we became the race we are today. We are the most advanced race in medicine, constr
uction, engineering and space travel, that we have ever encountered. With the wisdom of the females and the courage and power of our males we are the protectors of our universe. We like to trade with other races, but we do not allow evil races to conquer planets that wish to live in peace”.

  Jo sighed “You are still not saying what you did before you found human females”.

  “I see you will not let go until you know everything” said Acorus, “Well you see, there is an old race, as old as ours, in our universe whose females, in everything external, are the same as ours. We are not compatible genetically, so do not produce young, but when a male needs a female they are useful. They have beautiful bodies, but are green all over and are very ugly to look at. However in the dark they are a female body”.

  Jo laughed, and Acorus said “You are out to torture me, have mercy!”

  She laughed again and deliberately tightened her muscles, then it was her turn to moan as Acorus moved within her.

  “Big mistake” and it was his turn to laugh “I told you I wouldn’t be immobilised for ever” and with that he carried her to orgasm after orgasm.

  As she lay cuddled in his arms, with her body completely satiated, she still couldn’t work out how the Sceriae procured the green females so she asked “How do you get these green females and are they willing to mate with the Sceriae or do you kidnap them too?”

  “No we do not kidnap them too” he said slightly riled at her dig “they are called the Ghorans and for centuries their females have sold themselves to whoever wants them. They have a colony on nearly every planet and have become a rich nation through their female’s expertise”.
