13 Secrets
Page 30
Fabian says it’s to do with the secrets. Not just the thirteen secrets, but everything that came out that summer. About his mother, and Warwick and Rose. It’s all out in the open. Me? I still have my secrets, like everyone. Things I want kept out of the way, like a certain letter, and an old compass and a pair of scissors given to me by the gypsy woman believed to be mad—or a witch—by most people. They’re all still here, under the floorboard. These days my secrets are mostly small, written on these pages, and hidden within a red cover. Just in case.
Thanks to:
All my family and friends for putting up with my hibernation when writing, talking through plotlines, and letting me know when I’d killed one character too many (yes, you were right, Mum).
Huge thanks to Darren for making the website so brilliant, and for all the computer wizardry in general.
Darley, Madeleine, and everyone at the Darley Anderson Agency for looking after me, and Julie, Pam, Lisa, and everybody at Little, Brown and Company for making this a better book.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, to the readers who have let Tanya, Fabian, and Rowan into your lives: thank you so much for your messages and support!
