Blood Red Rage (LIttlemoon Investigations Book 1) Page 36

by Morgan Kelley

At first, the strokes were hard and punishing, as he worked out some of his frustration. When she was just about ready to shatter apart, he pulled out of her body and began torturing her elsewhere.

“Julian,” she moaned, as he focused his full attention on her breasts. “God,” she murmured, as he drove her wild.

When she was squirming beneath him, he went back to invading her body. The quick intake of breath made him wild, and the ride started out rough once more.

Having his wife captive beneath him was turning him on like never before. “You’re mine, Victoria. Do you hear me?” he ordered as he drove into her.

His plan was to tease and torment her further, but he was coming undone.

  “Yes, Julian,” she gasped, breathlessly.

“I mean it,” he stated. “Only mine!”

Tori was finding it hard to even speak, she was so close to falling into the bliss that she couldn’t focus.

“Yes, Julian! Whatever you say,” she replied.

Her words drove him wild and with one last thrust, he exploded and pushed them both over the edge. When the room stopped spinning, he lifted himself up on his elbows and stared down into her eyes.

  “Yeah, just wow,” he admitted.

She giggled, and then kissed him on the lips. “I second that wow,” she answered.

Julian uncuffed her, and she immediately curled into his body and cuddled with him. “You’re a wild man, Mr. Littlemoon.”

He laughed. “Yeah, well what made you think about handcuffs?” he asked.

  “Men like props.”

“Honey, when it comes to sex with a beautiful woman, we’ll pretty much do anything you ask. We’re easy.”

  “Tell me about it.”

The pain began coming back. “Are we okay now?” he asked, staring down into her eyes.

  “Yes, we are.”

“Want to go have dinner?” Julian inquired.

She thought about it. “I picked up a ton of food. You wouldn’t happen to know what to do with it, would you?” she asked.

  Yeah, he certainly did.

  “I may have an idea.”

  Chapter Twenty Four

Julian knocked on the door, not sure what to expect. He was pretty sure that his brother was going to still be angry with him. After all, he didn't really blame him. Julian was pretty pissed at himself at that moment.

When the door opened, his exact replica stood there staring back at him. At first, neither man spoke. Finally, both of their faces eased as the tension dissipated.

“I’m sorry that I hurt you, Justin,” Julian said, as he waited to see the response.

Justin exited his doorway and moved towards his brother. He threw his arms around him and hugged him. “I’m sorry that I put my hands on you, Jules. Please forgive me for trying to hurt you.”

“Always,” he replied, as he hugged him. He could tell from his eyes that he was having a really bad night and Julian hated that it was his fault. “Can we come in?” he asked.

Justin stepped back and motioned for them to enter.

Tori stopped in front of him. “You okay, Marine?” she asked, as she threw her arms around him and hugged him.

“Yeah, my wife fixed it,” he answered.

“I’m glad,” she said. It made her feel better to know that Vivian wasn’t going to give up when she saw the scary side of Justin’s life.

“Are you both hungry?” asked Julian, as he placed the take out bag on the table. “We brought Chinese.”

Vivian crossed to Tori and hugged her. “How are you doing?” she asked.

  “Better,” she replied.

  Turning, Vivian stared at Julian.

He watched her, waiting for her to say something about what had happened. Julian was just grateful that she managed to find Justin and help him through it, and he would take any verbal ass kicking that she threw out. “Yes?” he finally asked.

  “Can I hug you?”

Everything in him relaxed, and he smiled. “I’d like that,” he answered.

Vivian crossed to him and hugged him tight. When he released her, she looked over at Tori. “It’s like hugging the same man,” she teased.

“Yeah, I know,” Tori replied back. “With your eyes closed and not smelling cologne, you can’t tell the difference.”

“HEY!” they both said at the same time.

  “See,” she replied, laughing.

The men grinned and began digging through the Chinese takeout bag. When they pulled the containers out, they all took a seat on the couch and chairs.

“Want to talk about it?” Tori asked, eating some of her Chinese, and then passing the rest to her husband to swap with him.

“I now see what Julian was trying to point out, and I agree that Lenny does need to be interviewed, but I think it should be me and Vivian. He’s my friend, and that’s why I should talk to him.”

Julian ate some of his wife’s takeout. “I think you should too. You’ll know better if he’s lying.”

“Wow, I didn't expect that,” Justin stated. He handed Vivian his container to swap food because it looked like something married couples definitely would do. Since he was new to this, he was letting his brother lead by example.

“Yeah, well I had time to think about it.”

Tori snickered. “Handcuffs and sex,” she muttered under her breath.

Vivian started laughing and Justin joined in.

“Oh my God! You need to be locked up,” Julian stated. “Do you realize that things like that should be kept private and between us only?”

  They all laughed even more.

“What? He’s your identical twin. It’s not like he doesn’t understand the whole thing. He would probably enjoy it too,” Tori answered. “Most identical twins share the same likes and dislikes.”

Vivian giggled and Justin wiggled his eyebrows at his wife before he added his opinion, “Hell yeah, he understands, and he does like the same thing that his brother does. Hint hint.”

“See?” she continued, “Besides, we don’t exactly have a lot of secrets. I’m sure Vivian is well aware by now that you two men are sex fiends.”

The women shared a look, and then broke out into laughter.

Justin wasn’t even fazed and smiled smugly at the conversation. “I have no secrets.”

Tori loved torturing them both. “So, she knows the story about you getting Tex tattooed on your ass?”

Julian grinned this time, as his brother nearly choked.

“Tor! You know that’s something that we never bring up! We took an oath!”

Now, Vivian was intrigued. “Do tell. I know he doesn’t have anything on his ass, I’ve checked it out a couple of times.” When he stared at her openmouthed, she continued, “What? The view is pretty spectacular from behind. Sue me.”

Tori explained to her new sister, “He challenged myself, and the director of the FBI, to a shooting match and lost. The bet was her nickname tattooed on his rear or his name on hers. It was winner take all.”

“Really? Do we have to discuss this?” Justin was mortified that his wife was hearing the details.

They ignored him. “Okay, so if he lost, where is it?”

Julian spilled this part, “He went to the tattoo artist and had him draw it on with a sharpie marker, and then sent that as proof.”

“Is nothing sacred?” he asked, as Tori took his Chinese and handed him hers.

Vivian did the same with Julian. It amazed her how easily all four of them seemed to come together. So, this was what siblings and family felt like.

“They’re out of control,” he stated.

Julian didn't disagree, and yet it was heartwarming to see his wife happy and at peace.

“Let’s talk about work and not my ass,” Justin stated. Despite the look on his face, he was secretly enjoying the camaraderie all four of them had. His family was growing, and he loved it. Now, he had his sister, his brother, and new wife in his life, and they all seemed to get along.

  T
his was pretty awesome.

“Sure,” Vivian said. “We’ll hit up Lenny Walters tomorrow, and you two can have the grieving boyfriend.”

Tori nodded. “I’m going to watch everyone around him, because I’m willing to bet that the woman, who he was cheating with, will be there and want to comfort him.”

“Good point,” stated Vivian. “Follow him home. I bet she joins him for further heart consolation, and other parts of his anatomy,” she added, grinning.

“Oh yeah, this ought to be good. Want to bet the sad man turns happy as soon as the cameras aren’t on him?”

“No way! That’s a losing bet. If we’re going to gamble, let’s pick something fair, like her hair color.”

“Or boob size,” Tori added, jokingly.

Justin looked at his brother. “Do you get the feeling that they really have no need for us? That they could be working on this all by themselves, and we’re just in the way.”

  “Yeah, welcome to my life.”

“I feel used,” Justin added with a grin.

  The both started laughing.

“Well where do I fit in?” stated Justin.

“You’re nice to look at,” Vivian teased.

  Justin simply stared at her.

Tori snickered. “So, if he’s a visual appetizer, then that makes Julian one too.” Tori paused before continuing, “Yeah, I can agree with that one wholeheartedly.”

“Hey!” Julian objected. “Now, I feel cheap.”

“Babe, there’s nothing wrong with that,” Tori added. “We’re married, so I like you easy.”

She gave Vivian a fist bump when the woman agreed. When she turned, she was caught off guard by her husband. Julian grabbed her by the front of the shirt and kissed her to shut her up.

Vivian laughed, until Justin did the same thing.

The room went quiet while both men proved a point and taught their boisterous wives a lesson.

  Slowly, they broke away.

“Yeah, it’s time to go home,” Julian muttered, putting down his take out.

Tori didn't disagree at all. It was a pretty spectacular kiss, and now she was all warmed up.

They quickly said goodnight and headed back to their place. Suddenly, Julian wanted to get his wife naked again. Why not? This was their newlywed year.

When they were gone, Vivian stood up. “Want to go back to our other place?” she asked.

“Don’t you want to christen our second apartment?” he teased, as he closed up his take-out container.

“I do, but my clothes are there. How about you grab your things and when this case is over, we can have sex in every room in this place.”

  “Every one?” he asked.

“Yep, handcuffs included,” she teased, just to test out the theory that her new friend had stated.

“Hell yeah, let me get my stuff,” he said as he vaulted over the back of the couch.

Vivian just shook her head. “Yeah, twins.”

He sat outside and waited. Earlier, he saw her going in there, and he was curious.

  Yeah, he was following her.

  So, sue him.

His cop senses said that something was definitely up, and that meant that he needed to figure it out.

If it felt off and looked off, then it was probably off. Wasn’t that something you learned as you worked the streets as a beat officer?

His partner was acting different, and he suspected the Littlemoons. Maybe they were some cult that sucked common sense from brains, and his partner was a hapless victim.

  That would explain it.

He slid down in the front seat of his car as he watched the apartment door open, and two people exited. He snapped a few pictures, and then looked at them.

They were holding hands and kissing.

  Damn it!

It was the wrong girl. This was the ex-Fed. He could tell by the red hair. It looked like he was going to have to sit there and wait a little more. When they climbed into the SUV, he watched them drive away.

When the door opened twenty minutes later, he began snapping photos like crazy.

Here was his partner, and she was attached to the other man’s face. That wasn’t a friendly little peck on the cheek goodnight.

That was one hell of a kiss.

Detective Lester watched them link hands and stroll towards his truck. Again, he kept the camera clicking and zoomed in on them.

Well, this was what his partner was hiding. She was in a relationship or having sex with a man who they had suspected in the disappearance of one of the women.

If this got out, the shit would hit the fan and the department was going to look bad.

  Then, he smiled joyfully.

  When it got out.

He watched them pull away, and he followed behind. The Littlemoons weren’t the only ones who could play private investigator.

  He could too.

Only in the end, he would get the final laugh.

  At his partner’s expense.

  Monday Morning

  Vivian liked having a husband.

  A lot!

It meant never having to wake up alone again. When she rolled over that morning, there he was in all his sexy Native glory. When he slept, he was peaceful and incredibly handsome. It made her wonder how the heck Tori ever got any rest. All she wanted to do was stare at him for hours, and then climb all over him.

Alas, this was her burden to carry.

Once awake, it didn't take long for them to get their routine down. They showered together and fooled around while wet and slickery, and then had coffee in her kitchen.

  It felt so…

  Perfect.

Nothing in life had ever given her this kind of peace and calm. It was as if Karma was finally repaying her for all the horrible years of pain that she had to live through.

  Justin was her reward.

Driving to Lenny’s place, she could see the tension on his face and body. Vivian had noticed that when the twins were angry or frustrated, their faces took on a ‘carved in granite’ appearance. All emotion fell away, and they looked stone cold.

He had that look right now, and she was worried about him. This was his friend, and the last thing that she wanted was for him to hurt or be wounded. For all they knew, this man had something to do with the women’s disappearances.

Pulling into the driveway, he finally looked over at her. “It’s not him. I can tell in my gut.”

She took his hand in hers. “I believe you, but we need to eliminate him from the list of suspects. Once we do, he’s in the clear.”

Justin released the breath he was holding. “Okay, let’s get this done.”

Out of the truck, they crossed the yard to the front porch.

“Holy shit,” muttered Vivian, as she glanced around.

“Yeah, you can say that again,” Justin replied. Never had he seen anything quite like it.

On the front porch, there were tons of empty beer cans and bottles. All of them were the same brand and didn't look like they had been there very long.

Justin thought back to his response to anger last night. Hadn’t he gone right towards alcohol too? If this was any indication of his friend’s pain, he was seriously hurting beneath the doctor façade.

“How can he function on this kind of booze bender?” Vivian asked, as she ran her hand down her husband’s arm reassuringly.

  “You got me,” he replied.

Together, they stood side by side on the porch as he knocked on the front door. Lenny Walters had some questions to answer, and the first one in Justin’s mind had to be related to his drinking.

When no one answered or came to the door, he knocked louder.

Vivian moved to the window and peered inside. “Well, the inside is just as messy,” she stated. “I don’t think he’s here. It looks all locked up.”

He agreed and headed down the steps. “Let’s scope the place out. It’s fairly isolated back here.”

/>   Vivian had already been thinking that, yet she didn't want to point out that this would be the ideal house to stash two women.

“It’s a concrete basement,” he stated, as he walked around the house.

  Again, Vivian said nothing.

In the back, they found more recycling cans full of empties. This time, there was the splattering of energy drinks tossed into the mix.

Staring in the kitchen window, he was appalled. “I’m messy, but Lenny is living in a pigsty.”

Vivian finally spoke, “If he’s this bad, Justin, we need to get him some help.”

He knew she was right. “If I get like this…” he began and couldn’t finish, because this was his fear. That he’d slip into this mess and never find a way out. Justin had seen too many friends take this route, and this was what he battled every day.

  “You won’t,” she promised.

“How do you know?” he asked, needing that reassurance from her right now.

“Because, Justin, you have me to anchor you to the here and now. I won’t let this happen to the man I love.”

He took her hand in his and squeezed it. “Let’s look around, and then head to the ER. If he’s not here, then he’s at the hospital.”

  “That works for me, Justin.”

  Together, they continued to search.

They managed to blend in by dressing the part.

Julian had slipped into a dark suit and pulled his hair back, and Tori wore a black wrap dress and heels. They definitely looked like they were heading to a memorial.

As they sat in the back, Tori watched the blonde woman who was sitting beside Josh Devaul. He was flanked by her and his co-worker Terry Boulet. Both of them were trying to console the man as he openly sobbed.

They watched him closely, as the service concluded, and he moved towards the picture of the smiling woman atop the mahogany casket. He kissed it, and then placed a red rose on top. As if he couldn’t take anymore, he walked down the aisle to escape the building.

The blonde went next, patting the casket and turning to follow him. One by one, all the co-workers and other paramedics did the same.

“We need to follow him home,” Tori whispered, as they silently slipped from the room and outside. As they exited the building, they watched Josh and the blonde escape in a car.
