“I’ll wear black tomorrow,” she said.

“I’ll picture you wearing black panties and bra to work.” The husky timber of his voice told her how much he was enjoying this.

“What about you?” Stevie asked. “Briefs, boxers, or boxer briefs? And what color?”

He laughed. “Boxer briefs and they’re blue. I’ll show you once I get my webcam taken care of,” he said. “I want to send you something for your night out with the girls on Saturday,” he said. “Can I have your address?”

Her eyes widened. “What are you going to send me?”

  “It’s a surprise,” he said.

Stevie felt her head spin a little from the wine, but she pressed him for more information. “Come on. What is it?”

“You’ll see,” he said. “I think you’ll like it.”

“Fifty-five twenty-one Crystal Avenue,” she said and gave him the zip code for her San Diego location. She thought she might have slurred “Crystal” a bit as a result of the combination of the wine and being exhausted.

“Great,” he said. “Now you need to sleep.”

She felt a yawn coming on and she covered her mouth with her hand. “Yes.”

  “Good night, babe.”

  “Good night.”
