  “Audrey…”

He put his hands on my shoulders and gently pulled me off of him. I blinked the tears out of my eyes and stared up at him. The intensity he had was everything I wanted and dreamed about. My body was trembling. I was dripping through my panties so much I had no choice but to roll them down my legs.

I didn’t need to say anything. Neither did he. Just a look was enough to tell each other what we wanted.

He crawled onto the bed with me. He took his place between my legs, our lips tangled in a loud, sloppy kiss. I pressed my hands on his muscled chest. He was so hard, even squeezing my fingers on him was like trying to grip a rock.

“Wait…” I whispered into his mouth.

“What’s wrong?” he said, suddenly pulling away from me.

“Nothing. I just… I never got the chance to be with you how I wanted… With everything going on, I was always distracted… Not now… Now I want you, Micah… I only want to think of you and… this…”

He didn’t protest when I pushed him onto his back. I straddled him, pressing my hands down on his chest, an excuse to keep feeling his muscles.

  “Are you sure? Your leg—”

“My leg is fine. Just… fine…”

I gripped his shaft and pointed it up. The heat coming from my entrance was so bad. I was leaking down the insides of my thighs. Even with how big he was, I knew I was slick enough for him to slide into me.

I found my folds with his tip and moved down on him. My eyelids flickered as I tried to keep my eyes open. But his cock splitting me apart was too much for me to handle. I clenched my jaw and pushed down on his chest to brace myself.

  “Fuck… Audrey… You’re so tight…”

“Yeah… Tell me… Tell me what I wanna hear.”

I started slow, riding him to my own rhythm. His cock throbbed against my walls and sent shivers up and down my spine.

  “That’s it… Ride me, babe… Just like that…”

Micah’s enthusiasm made me smile. A half-groan came out of my lips along with a chuckle. He felt so damn good. My body took control of itself. I wasn’t thinking any longer. All I could do was lose myself.

My ass moved up and down on top of him. My cheeks slammed against his hilt whenever I came down. I rode him like my life depended on it. And with how hard my heart was beating in my chest, I almost felt like I was near my end.

Micah couldn’t hold back either. His hands found my waist. He held me effortlessly in his strong grip, driving his cock up and into me. The loud rhythmic clapping of our bodies colliding made the bed squeak even louder beneath us.

He grunted through gritted teeth, pounding me so hard that the edge was already in sight.

My breasts heaved. My hair flailed in every direction. Sweat dripped down my brow and all over the rest of me.

  “That’s it… Fuck me… Give it to me, Micah…”

  “Audrey…”

Hearing him say my name made me tremble again. My back arched on its own so he could dig even deeper into me with a cock that felt like it was still getting harder. I gripped the sheets beneath me to brace myself. Every muscle in my body tightened up.

Micah banged into me like a jackhammer. I could tell he was close from how furious his groans were. He squeezed me in his grip like he didn’t want me to leave. But I wasn’t leaving. I was here. I didn’t wanna be anywhere else.

  “Micah…”

My mouth opened even wider but every moan I had got caught in my throat. All I could do was look at the edge before it came crashing into me.

A waterfall poured over me. I held my breath for a moment before losing control. Nothing made me come harder than the way Micah did it. Involuntary contractions made me twitch on top of him. My climax spread from my core and pulsed through the rest of my body as I moaned.

He kept pumping his cock until finally losing himself just the same. A thick spurt of cum filled my insides and made me shiver. Micah emptied himself into me while I succumbed to the throes of a climax that didn’t seem to end.

I squeezed myself around him and pulled out every drop he had before collapsing on top of him. My head fell against his chest. Bodies sweating. Breaths haggard. Hair gone in every direction. A complete mess between my legs. I rested against Micah until I finally had enough to gather my senses.

“I like this,” I sighed. “I like… being with you.”

“You’ve been in this hotel for so long. What do you say we get outta here?”

I raised my head up and smiled at him.

“That sounds like you’re asking me out on a date, Micah.”

  “What if it is?”

  “A date… I haven’t been on a date in a long time.”

“All the reason to come with me.”

“…All right. A date. That sounds like fun—”

“But not until tonight. It’ll give you a chance to get ready.”

“Get ready? I don’t know if I like the sound of that…”

“Tonight is gonna be special. You’ll see.”

  Chapter 28

  AUDREY

The feeling of riding on a bike was something I had to get used to. The wind blowing against your skin. Your clothes flapping in the breeze. The seat vibrating underneath you. The pavement so close you could stick your foot out and touch it. It made you take for granted how safe you were when you were riding a car.

I felt safe where I was though. My arms wrapped tight around his waist, I watched all of the buildings zoom by. Ivory was such a quiet little town but there was something different about the city at night. It was so serene and peaceful… I could feel it all the way down to my bones.

The bike pulled up to the curb in front of a small restaurant I wouldn’t have noticed if I was driving by. There were no signs. The lights were dim inside. It was hard to tell the place was even open.

  “We’re here.”

I still wasn’t sure what to make of Jordan. But if he was anything like Micah, I knew I could trust him. At the moment, I had my doubts though…

“And where are we exactly?” I asked Jordan.

“We’re at the best place to have a steak in Ivory.”

“Are we? It’s hard to tell.”

“Don’t worry. You’ll see when you get inside. Micah’s been planning something special for you.”

“Is that right? And I suppose having you chauffeur me was part of the plan?”

“You don’t know how lucky you are to be riding with the President of WC, little lady.”

  “Hmm… I’ll bet.”

“Time’s a wasting, Audrey. He’s waiting for you.”

  “Right…”

Jordan gave me a wink before revving his engine and speeding back down the road. I took a deep breath, a nervous anticipation sending a shiver up my spine.

“Let’s see what we have here…”

I stepped into the restaurant and immediately noticed how dim it was. Most of the bright lights came from the candles at every table. I didn’t have much time to appreciate the decor when someone walked up to me.

  “Miss Prescott?”

  “Yes?”

  “Right this way.”

The man was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans but treated me nice enough. I followed him through the restaurant and into another back room. My mind was racing thinking about what was waiting for me. And then I saw it. A lone table with a set of candlelights on it. And Micah standing next to it, still in that leather kutte and jeans I’d grown so accustomed to staring at.

“Your meal will be out shortly.”

The waiter excused himself. I’d barely noticed, my attention focused solely on Micah. He held his hand out to me and led me to the table.

  “I wasn’t expecting all this,” I said.

“It’s not much. But I figured if I was gonna take you out on a date, I’d do something nice for you. A candle-lit dinner at the best steakhouse in Ivory.”

“Steak, huh? I’m more of a fish and chips kinda girl.”

  “T
hey have that here, too—”

“When in Rome. I’m sure I’ll love it either way.”

He gave me a wink and took a seat in front of me. The cozy atmosphere made me smile like an obnoxious schoolgirl.

“Man,” he said. “I feel like I’m in high school.”

  “High school? Why’s that?”

“There wasn’t anybody after high school. I messed around with some girls but I never really had the chance to sit down and actually go on a date. Not since I was a teenager.”

“I guess that’s where you and I are different. I was not popular in high school. I told you before.”

“I find that hard to believe.”

“Don’t try to flatter me,” I said with a laugh. “All I did in high school was study and read, and ready and study. I didn’t have time for boys. And even in college, it was all just jerks who were using me to get what they wanted.”

“What makes you think I’m any different?”

“You are different. I’ve… I’ve seen enough from you, to know what’s in your heart.”

“I feel the same way about you.”

He leaned back in his seat and sighed, his eyes locked on me like he was trying to read my thoughts.

“It’s strange,” I said. “I spent all of that time chasing Pearson… then Booth… It was all I cared about. Now that it’s all over… I can finally go back to my normal life.”

“And what is your normal life, Audrey?”

“That’s the thing. I don’t know what normal is. I don’t think I’ll ever be normal.”

  “Normal’s not interesting.”

“You’re right. But… I’d like to just… settle down. I can relax now. I can just be who I am instead of what I was this whole time.”

I couldn’t help a laugh. He raised an eyebrow in curiosity.

  “What’s so funny?”

“Nothing… It’s just… This really does feel like a first date. All that time I spent with you and I don’t know much about who you are.”

“Well, there’s no better time than right now to get to know each other.”

“So…” I leaned forward and dropped my chin in my palm. “…Tell me about yourself.”

“All right,” he said, a big grin on his face. “I’m Micah Lawler. Born and raised in Ivory. Served for a decade. Army Ranger. Retired and now I’m back in Ivory. I work at the Bone Pit, clubhouse of the Winter Cobras. Bartender. Nothing fancy but it’s light work compared to what I was used to.”

“Micah Lawler. A war veteran and now a club member. That’s very interesting.”

  “Are you… being sarcastic?”

“Not at all. People don’t live the life you have.”

The candlelight cast a shadow on his face that made his face more strikingly handsome. Even with a smile, there was a certain intensity about him. But I’d never felt safer than I was now.

“How about you, Miss Prescott? What’s your story?”

“I’m afraid it’s not as interesting as yours.”

“I’ll be honest with you… Doc looked you up and told me a bit about you.”

“Did he? It seems like every MC is pretty liberal with information…”

“Just wanted to make sure your story checks out. All I know is that you graduated college.”

“I did. Went to graduate university, too. Did a little bit of teaching but had a regular job for awhile.”

  “And what was that?”

  “I was a nurse.”

  “A nurse?” he exclaimed.

  “Why? Does that surprise you?”

I couldn’t help but snicker at his reaction.

  “It shouldn’t but…”

“That’s all right. I guess… I guess you never really got a chance to know me until now.”

“I wanna know everything about you, Audrey. The real you. Not what you were trying to be.”

He stared into my eyes and the smile slowly left his face. I looked back at him and nodded.

“I’m Audrey Prescott. Just an ordinary girl from the city.”

“It’s nice to finally meet you, Audrey.”

  Epilogue 1

  MICAH

“All right, all right, all right, all right… Here we go…”

Teddy. Rex. Jordan. Doc. Even the prospect Quinn was watching me close. I’m sure Ashton and Grant would be doing the same if they weren’t down at the garage.

I raised the glass up and the alcohol practically burned the hair in my nostrils.

  “Jesus…”

“Don’t pussy out on me now, Mikey…”

Rex’s voice had never been so annoying. Shutting him up was the main reason I was so adamant about doing it.

  Do it.

Without giving it a second thought, I put the glass up to my lips and gulped it down with a fast swallow. They all cheered in unison when I finally did.

“There we go,” Rex said as he slapped me on the back. “This Cobra’s finally got his venom.”

“I suppose this is some dumb ritual you all came up with to initiate me,” I said.

“Nah. I just wanted to see if you would do it.”

Their obnoxious laughs just made me roll my eyes.

It was the middle of the afternoon in the Bone Pit and I was already half-drunk off of a drink Rex graciously put together for me.

“All right, boys,” Jordan said. “Let’s clean this place up. Starting to get a little filthy in here.”

“Filthy,” Teddy scoffed. “People like this place how it is. You make it sound like we’re having a lady over or something.”

“Just because you and Rex don’t got an old lady doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have respect for the clubhouse. Besides, our man Micah here’s got a lady. Same with Ash.”

“Ash?” Rex scoffed. “Are you talking about that Rose chick? Man… That shit isn’t serious. Ash just doesn’t know how to play the game.”

“The motherfucker learned everything he knew from Grant,” Teddy added. “What the fuck do you expect? They spend all their time in the fucking garage. You forget how to talk to a woman when you’re around nothing but machines.”

“Shut the fuck up and get to work,” Jordan said. “This place is a fucking sty.”

“Yeah, yeah,” Teddy muttered. “Yo, Q. Prospect duties. Get the rags and start wiping those windows down.”

Jordan headed to the back of the clubhouse while Rex and Teddy got busy ordering Quinn around. With only a few patrons around, it was the perfect opportunity to get the place ready for another wild night.

Doc sat at the bar, going over some paperwork like he always did.

“What are you up to?” I said.

“Just going over some numbers,” he sighed. “That’s what a treasurer does.”

  “And how are we doing?”

He gave me a quick glance then laughed.

“Doing just fine, Micah. Which reminds me… You haven’t paid your dues for the month.”

“I just forgot. You know I’m good for it.”

  “Yeah, yeah…”

I took a seat at the bar next to him and looked around the clubhouse.

  “Something on your mind, Micah?”

“I was just thinking… I’ve been in Ivory my entire life. I’ve always watched the MCs from afar. The way they always handled shit. When anybody was in trouble, they went to the MCs instead of the cops. They earned the peoples’ respect…”

“You’ve earned their respect. You’re one of us now, too. You know that.”

“Yeah… It’s just weird to think about it.”

“It’s not weird at all. There’s a reason you got voted in so easily.”

“After all the shit that went down with Booth, I wondered if I would get through it.”

“If you weren’t a Cobra, you wouldn’t have gotten through. We all knew you were good enough. You just proved it. No doubt about it. Wear that patch with pride.”

Doc wasn’t paying any attention to me but I knew he could hear me.

&nb
sp; “Maybe I should get some new ink.”

“There’s an idea. You won’t regret it. Life comes and goes but you’ve got venom in your blood. That’ll never change.”

  Epilogue 2

  AUDREY

  Two weeks later…

Mrs. Solomon always seemed to have a kind smile on her face. As she poured me a tall glass of tea, she stuck her tongue out with the kind of satisfaction only a mother could have.

“There you are,” she said. “Drink up.”

“Thanks for inviting me over again. I get kinda bored when Micah isn’t around.”

“Oh, nonsense. I can’t think of a better way to spend an evening than with you. I don’t have much company over. It’s nice to have someone to talk to.”

“I feel like I know so much about Ivory. You’ve told me so many stories.”

“I’ve been in Ivory my entire life, sweetie. I’ve got a lifetime of stories. Don’t you worry about me running out. But how about you?”

  “What about me?”

“You’ve been in Ivory for a good amount of time now. You must have something interesting to talk about.”

  “Well…”

I took a gulp of the tea and sighed. No matter how much I searched my thoughts, there was nothing for me to tell her. All I could do was laugh.

“What’s so funny now?” she said.

“I’ve been in Ivory for a bit but I haven’t been doing anything.”

“You have been searching for a job though, haven’t you?”

“Yes. There’s a vacancy at the hospital. I think they might have room for me.”

“That’s wonderful! There’s always room for one more at that place. We can never have too many friendly faces around. I’m sure you’ll do just fine.”

  “I’m looking forward to it.”

A quick knock at the door and Micah opened it up for himself.

“Hey,” he said as he walked over and greeted me with a kiss on the cheek. “I’m sorry I’m late.”

“You’re not late,” Mrs. Solomon said. “You’re right on time. Audrey here was just telling me about the job she was getting.”

“I didn’t get the job yet,” I said. “But things are looking good.”
