The Noru 7: Rage Of Angels
Page 21
I should look away, but I can’t. Maybe I’m just nosy. Maybe I’m a pervert who loves to watch, or maybe it makes me happy to watch two beings finally get the happiness they deserve. Either way, I look on and watch the Kon and the Kaster make love for the very first time.
He stands behind her, and she watches his movements in the glass door. I think she’s expecting him to pull her close and kiss her. But he doesn’t. Bex has his own plans. He’s going to give her what she’s been wanting for so long—“movie” love.
He glides his hands up and down her arms slowly. His movements are smooth and gentle. He doesn’t rush; he takes his time as he kisses her collarbone and grazes her neck with his lips. When he reaches her lips, he skillfully parts them with his tongue, all the while continuously stroking her. I can practically feel Diana shiver from the heat generated by Bex’s touch.
The subtle, light touch of his tongue on the nape of her neck is sending a flood of pleasure through her body, so much so that she sighs heavily. She lifts her hair up so he can unbutton her blouse. He does exactly as she wishes and removes it; the soft material flows down to the floor. With her back now exposed, he unhooks her bra and leaves behind a trail of tender, soft kisses. The kisses start at the back of her neck and go down to the space between her shoulder blades. When the bra becomes a hindrance, he peels it off her and lets it fall to the floor as well.
He teases her by whisking the tip of his fingers against her stiff nipples. She arches her back. He uses both hands to massage her breasts and send her into overdrive. She hooks her arms around his neck while still facing the glass door. Bex works her upper body over with the same determination he has in battle. He kneads her breasts until her eyes roll to the back of her head and her knees start to buckle.
He reaches under her skirt and slides her white lace panties off her. The dampness in the middle panel of her underwear makes him growl. He places his hand between her legs and explores the area he just stripped bare. Once his fingers are inside her, he gasps loudly.
“Damn, baby, you’re so wet…” He groans with pleasure.
No longer able to contain himself, he takes her skirt off, turns her around to face him, and carries her to the bed. He gently lays her down, removes his towel, and stands above her. But as much as he longs for her, he’s smart enough to take his time. He admires her body with a heated, sincere gaze.
Bex is genuinely taken by how stunning the girl on the bed really is. Diana’s been ravished before, but this isn’t that. This is something new, something wondrous, and that frightens her. Diana quickly sits up and covers her breasts with the white blanket. There’s alarm in her eyes and tension in her shoulders.
“Diana, I don’t want to stop touching you. When I drink from your lips, it feels like I’m drinking straight from the light. Just now, I begged Omnis to end my life because I knew I would never feel as good as I did when my fingers were inside you. But if you want me to stop, I will,” he vows.
“The guy I was with before I died—Sebastian—I felt about him the way I feel about you. I thought he was a good guy, but he stood by as his father raped me. I survived it by telling myself that sex is nothing, it’s no big deal. I told myself over and over again. I started to believe it. It helped make the pain stop, and now…now you’re here and it’s special…special scares me,” she admits with tears in her eyes.
“Then we can stop,” he says as he puts the towel back on and sits down beside her.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes,” he says as he gently kisses her forehead.
“I’m sorry. I’ve never had to stop before.”
“Don’t be sorry. Don’t ever be sorry for that. We don’t have to have sex. We don’t have to do anything but be here with each other,” he says as he positions himself so that her head is resting on his chest. He holds her close and lovingly strokes her hair.
“I’ve wanted this for a long time now—can’t believe I’m blowing it,” she says mostly to herself.
“You’re not. I like having you near me. I’ll take you any way I can get,” he says.
“I had a choice of outfits,” she says, sounding distant.
“What do you mean?” he asks.
“That night, the night of the rape, I could have gone with a longer skirt. I could have gone with a looser shirt or—”
“Diana, stop. It wasn’t your fault. None of it was your fault.”
“I know that most of the time. Once in a while—”
“I get it. It’s okay. When you start to feel that way, you let me know. I’ll help you push that thought away,” he replies.
She sits up and turns to face him. “You really do have feelings for me.”
“I do.”
“Can we try again?” she says.
“Diana, we don’t have to—”
“I know, I want to. I want us to make love…”
He doesn’t jump right back in. Instead, he plants light, tender kisses on her lips. He kisses her eyelashes, the tip of her nose, and her knees. She learns that she’s ticklish. She starts to giggle; soon the two of them are laughing out loud. But once he starts slowly licking the area below her breasts, above her waist, the laughing stops. Her breathing gets choppy; the moaning begins.
He kisses every exposed inch of her, turns her over, and grazes his lips between her shoulder blades and down to her lower back. He gently runs his fingers, lips, and tongue across her entire body in slow, concentric circles. Judging by her incoherent moans and shaking, Diana is soaking wet and on the edge of ecstasy. Unable to take it anymore, she begs him to be inside her.
But Bex has found a thrill in making love to Diana that he has not found with anyone else. I can tell because he’s looking at her like she’s a treasure he’s found, one he would rather die than watch get taken away.
Bex doesn’t want it to end. He doesn’t want to stop touching the places that are making her writhe in ecstasy. The only thing the Kon wants to do is get as close to Diana as he can. So he parts her knees and “drinks” from her center. It only takes a few minutes for Diana to start convulsing with pleasure.
She cries out in frenzied lust and begs once again for Bex to have mercy on her. Bex, unable and unwilling to stop, dives deeper inside her with his tongue. Diana cries out as she tries to close her legs and get away from the overwhelming sea of pleasure she’s drowning in.
Bex won’t allow her to escape. She moves her hips off the bed, she squirms, and she bucks back and forth. But Bex is able to keep up with her. She’s so taken by lust and pleasure she slams her palm against the side of the bed. By the time Bex is ready to stop, Diana is a weak and trembling, blissful mess.
Bex lies next to her, and she summons all the energy she has left and straddles him. They take turns exploring each other. Bex suckles on her fingers and she groans. She catches his nipples between her lips and flicks them with her tongue until Bex’s eyes glaze over. She glides her lips over his taut abs and pecs. She lowers her head and takes him into her mouth. He starts speaking a language no one has ever heard before. Diana starts to hum softly with Bex in her mouth; the vibrations send the Kon into orbit.
“Diana—anything—anything you want—just don’t stop! Don’t stop—oh shit!”
He grabs Diana roughly by her shoulders, lifts her up in the air, and impales her onto him. She rides with a passion and desire that can only come from being in love. They thrust against each other repeatedly; each time they collide, it causes a rush of ecstasy that makes them both cry out.
They lock hands as the final wave of passion comes over them. The Inner Arc is strong and jarring. The orgasm rocks them both to the core. Diana bites his shoulder, and he grabs her throat and squeezes as the ecstasy engulfs them both. They lie there. Naked. Exhausted. Happy.
“What are you doing all the way over there?” he asks when he sees that Diana has placed several feet between them.
“I don’t know. I guess this is usually the part where I flee the scene. Or the part where
the guy wants to go.”
“Get over here,” he says. Her back is to him, but she closes some of the gap between them.
“Closer,” he orders gently.
She does as he asks.
“Closer,” he says again. They are now so close there is no air between them. She is right up against his body as they spoon each other. He brushes the hair from her face, kisses her temple, and covers his girl with his wings.
Dylan enters the room as I throw a sheet over the device and hang my head in shame. He looks at me and asks if I’m okay. He thinks this is about Summit or the team, but he’s wrong. This is about the stupid thing that I just did.
“Pryor, what happened?” he asks.
“I’m a pervert. That’s what happened. I’m a peeper, like a creepy old man in a stalker movie,” I reply.
“No, you’re not. Why would you say that?” he says.
“The device came on and I saw Diana and Bex having…you know.”
“Oh, and you didn’t turn away?” he asks.
“Are you kidding? I was two seconds away from getting popcorn and batteries! Who does that? What kind of perv am I? Why didn’t I turn away?” I ask as I bury my head in my pillow.
“I could think of a few reasons.”
“Me too. I’m demented and creepy,” I reply.
“Well…on the surface. But there’s more to it than that. There’s research that says people become voyeurs because it makes them feel alive.”
“That’s no excuse. Dylan, it was a really intimate moment between two beings, and I should not have been there. And if Diana and Bex find out I watched, they would be mortified,” I reply.
“Don’t be so hard on yourself. Looking at another couple is forbidden; everyone likes things that are forbidden. Also, I suspect that had it not been the Kon and the queen, you would have turned away.”
“Great, so I’m only a pervert when it comes to them. Awesome.”
“Pryor, I can think of three really good non-pervert reasons as to why you watched your ex and his new girl have sex.”
“Okay, lay it on me,” I reply, eager for an explanation.
“You are waiting to find out if your child is going to be born. You are in need of a distraction in the worst way. And I bet the whole time you were watching, you didn’t think about Alexi or look out the window to see if she was coming.”
“Well, yeah. It did take my mind off everything for a while,” I admit.
“Also, I know you and the Kon used to be together. I’m gonna take a wild guess here and say that he wasn’t the one that broke it off.”
“No, I ended things with Bex,” I mumble.
“You have a big heart and hurting him made you feel really bad. But watching him find a new love, a new source of enjoyment, it assuaged your guilt,” Dylan says.
“Yeah, it made me feel better to know he was happy…”
“Exactly.”
“What’s the third reason?” I ask.
“The third is a little…dark. You know that some pregnant angels have died while Alexi sucks up the Sib inside them. It’s a major stress to the body. If Summit gets enough strength to summon Alexi, that doesn’t mean that you will be strong enough to endure Alexi cutting you open to suck Summit out of you. You could very well die in childbirth,” he says grimly.
“I know that can happen…don’t ask me to talk about that. I can’t,” I admit.
“Yeah, I guessed that. That takes us back to reason number three: it’s easier to watch two beings having hot sex than to wait for the bird that may essentially kill you,” he says gently.
Thankfully I don’t have to reply to that because just then I get a phone call. I pick up and speak to my grandpa briefly. Once I’m off the phone, I update Dylan and let him know that Grandpa found Apex’s location.
“Grandpa called Aaden and gave him all the info,” I conclude.
“So everyone is headed there now?” Dylan asks.
“Yes,” I reply.
“And where exactly is ‘there’? Where’s Apex’s home?”
“In the center of the Black Forest in Germany,” I inform him.
“Do you really think it’s a good idea that they go into the forest?” Dylan asks.
“Yes, the forest is safe, nurturing, and fills me with ease,” I reply sardonically.
“Guess I touched a nerve. Sorry,” he says.
“No, it’s not you. I just hate to think of them out there with some crazy angel hell-bent on revenge. And the forest has never been good to us. I think Apex knows that. I think he knew exactly what he was doing when he stole the ashes and placed them in a forest of all places. I have a bad feeling about this,” I reply.
“Me too, but we don’t have a choice. We only have two hours left until Malakaro breaks free,” he reminds me.
“That’s why they have to go in and hope for the best. And I have to just sit here, helpless, and watch,” I reply miserably.
“I talked to Swoop, and if it helps, some of the weapons they found in the mountains are really cool.”
“What did they find?” I ask.
“A coin that turns into a sword—the sword of Avery! It was so named after the queen of the Paras centuries ago. She used it to single-handedly save the day. The Omari were in a battle, they were losing to evil, and she took up the sword and managed to slay them all,” Dylan says.
“I heard about her in school. She was a real badass. It’s said that sword can cut through anything,” I reply excitedly.
“Well, almost anything. It can’t harm an angel because it was made by angels.”
“Damn it! So I can’t use it against Malakaro?” I ask.
“No. But it would be the perfect weapon for—”
“Alago. So Swoop found the weapon for me to use to kill my best friend?”
“Yeah. Basically. But it can also slay demons,” he says, trying to cheer me up.
“What else did they find?”
“The Blade of Alkar. It takes in any substance you place it in. So once we get the ashes, we scatter them over the dagger, and the blade will take on the power of the ash. It will strip Malakaro of his powers.”
“So a sword to kill Alago and a dagger to weaken Malakaro. Sounds easy,” I lie.
“How bad is it that Apex wants to meet in a forest?” he asks, unable to hide his worry.
“It’s really bad,” I admit.
He looks out the window as worry creeps into his eyes and makes its way through his body. He looks like he could take to the sky at any moment to go help Swoop. In fact, I’m pretty sure he will take off if I don’t find a way to distract him from the dangers the team is about to face.
“Hey, don’t worry, Dylan, I have Easton’s password for HBO GO! We have more than enough thinly veiled porn to get us through the night,” I tease. We share a much-needed laugh.
“Hey, the device just turned on,” Dylan says as he spots the light coming from under the sheet. I grab the device and place it so that we both have a view of the Black Forest. Dylan and I share the same silent prayer: Dear Omnis, let them all make it out of there alive…
The team lands in Germany not long after receiving the coordinates; Bex and Diana have now joined them. They find themselves in the front yard of an estate that’s been carved right into the mountain. It resembles a small castle. It’s made of large stone, curved archways, and wide spiral stone steps. It looks like something out of a dark fairy tale. Beyond the castle is a vast, dense forest that spans thousands of acres. There is a long white table set up with a linen tablecloth, napkins, and antique chairs. The table is set for six.
“A dining table set on top of a mountain, with a dark and mysterious forest looming just beyond us. This looks like it’s gonna go very well,” East quips.
“Yup, this has ‘lovely evening’ written all over it,” Swoop says.
“Keep your eyes open. I have no doubt Apex knows we’re here,” Aaden says.
“Judging by his table decor, he’s expecting us,”
Bex replies.
“He may be a madman, but his taste in dinnerware is flawless,” Diana says as she picks up a champagne flute and studies it up close.
“Naturally, my love, anything for you and your team. I am sorry to hear your leader will not be joining us. I had plans for her,” someone says at the top of the stone staircase. They look up in the direction the voice came from and find a tall, slim angel with sharp facial features. He has bone-straight, long blond hair and wears a long gray button-down, suede jacket. He looks like he belongs in another time period.
“Who the hell are you?” Aaden demands.
“My dear sir, I do believe you have wandered onto my property, so I believe it is I who should ask the questions,” he says as he makes his way down the staircase. His style is elegant, his movement graceful, but something about his clear blue eyes disturbs me.
“Are you Apex?” Bex calls out.
“Kon, it hurts me that you do not recall who I am. But then again you were so young when we met. I shall make allowances for your ignorance and I will not be offended,” Apex replies, clearly proud of himself.
“Where is the vial of ash? Give it to us now and we will let you live,” Aaden offers.
“Silver, I must admit I happen to be a big fan. How is it that you survived all those awful days and nights at the Center? I have to admit, at first, I was upset that a mere child was outdoing my creation. But then I started to understand that you, Silver, were a gift. You pushed me to work harder, to stretch the boundaries of pain and torment. You, my friend, are an inspiration. And I’d like to think that today, today I will make you proud,” Apex says.
Aaden is about to tackle him, but Bex wisely holds him back. Suddenly five glass cylinders appear behind all but one of the chairs at the table. They contain human beings with Samson strings around their necks.
“These humans are also guests of mine. Originally I had six, but since your leader couldn’t join us, I’ve had to retire one of them. But don’t fret, angels and angel sympathizers, you can still rescue all five humans and get the ashes you came for.”
“And how exactly are we supposed to do that?” Swoop asks as she eyes the humans desperately banging on their see-through cages. We can’t hear what they’re saying, but it’s not hard to see how scared they are.
