Impossibly Possible

His tongue laved over her clit, then circled, making her orgasm slow and drawn out. Her heels dug into the mattress. Her toes curled, and she moaned while cocking her hips into his greedy mouth. She came hard jolting her body forward and moaning through pursed lips.
He licked over her sensitive bead. The tremors from her body had her pulling away. It was too much. “Stop, stop, please,” she begged.
A low chuckle had her smiling. This man. Damn, she might die from pleasure. Was that even possible? She squirmed under his lips as he made his way up her stomach. Her breast tingled when his wet warm mouth covered her nipple.
She drove her hands through his hair. She loved his hair, velvety and messy. His teasing tongue was setting her up for another orgasm if he didn’t stop. She wasn’t quite sure if it was possible to come from nipple play, but if there was a man up to the task, it was definitely Bogs. Her hips quirked up.
She had sex before but nothing like what she had with him. This was intense and needy but in a good way. There was desperation in every kiss like he couldn’t help himself. It was sexy the way his lips trailed a line from her breast to her neck. He had the best lips, soft and smooth.
She draped her arms around his back and let her fingers glide over his tense muscles. She could stay this way forever.
She ran her fingertips over his hips, and he shuddered. She giggled.
“Are you ticklish?”
His tongue traced her earlobe, teasingly, before he sucked it into his mouth. It felt so good, she gripped his waist harder, not wanting him to stop. He yanked his body to the side confirming what she had thought.
“You are ticklish.” She immediately took advantage of this knowledge and dug her fingers into his sides. He moved over her body laughing, and she wrestled him onto his back. She hooked her leg over his waist and straddled him. He was gripping her wrists when she reached his stomach.
His eyebrows arched. “Be nice.”
She tilted her head and pouted. “I was going to be nice, but you’re going to have to let go of my hands.”
He grinned. “How nice?”
“Let go of my hands and I’ll show you.”
He released her hands suspiciously watching her as she scooted back down his legs and wrapped her hand over his cock. Long, hard, and so very tempting. She gazed up through her lashes. His eyes were pinned on her, and the heat was evident.
He kept his stare locked on hers when she lowered her head and licked the crown of his dick. The muscles in his stomach tensed and tightened. Forget the six pack. Bogs had an eight-pack. She teased him from the tip down to the root, loving the feel of his rigid skin over her tongue. His jaw clenched when her tongue flickered up his shaft. He wanted more.
“Tease,” he groaned through gritted teeth.
Being playful with a man in bed was new territory for her. Her lips curled, she liked it. Hell, she liked everything with Bogs. She took his cock between her lips slowly lowering him down her throat as far as she could take him. His hand entangled in her hair. It wasn’t a rough grip but enough to hold her in place. Her tongue slid over his length and took him deep down to her throat.
“Fuck, deeper, baby.” His voice was barely audible.
She sucked him hard and bobbed down to the base of his dick. Her eyes teared from taking him so deep, but the groans she was hearing were worth it. Just hearing him get off had her reaching for her pussy and rubbing circles over her clit.
Her free hand gripped his cock, squeezing him while her lips wrapped around the tip. The grasp on her hair tightened and he grunted. “Pull back. I’m gonna come.”
Never once had she heard those words and not backed off, but with him, she sucked harder keeping her mouth tight around his shaft. She wanted to make him come, and she was eager to take it. Her finger assaulted her nub, and her own body tensed feeling the onset of her own release.
“Kenzie…” His voice was a whisper. He tensed shifting his hips and came. He was salty, warm, and not at all what she expected. He moaned in pleasure as she licked him clean.
His heavy breathing was all she could hear in the room. She slithered up his body and rested her chin on his chest. His eyes were closed, and his mouth was in a tight line.
“Was that nice?”
He opened one eye and smirked. “Nice? No, a home cooked meal is nice. That was fucking hot. I think I saw God.”
She giggled and pressed her cheek to his chest. His heart was beating fast and her face flushed. I did that.

He couldn’t help but smile from the sound of her laugh. Kenzie was all girl. They’d spent the last hour or so with her inundating him with questions about his family. Mostly about him and his brothers. He liked her interest. She steered clear of anything she deemed too personal. Little did she know, there wasn’t anything he wasn’t willing to share with her.
This thing between them, the job, it had completely morphed into an unexpected, undefined relationship. When it was all over, and the threat to her was a memory, he wasn’t letting go of her. It may not have been a once upon a time start for them, but he’d do everything in his power to give her the happily ever after. With him.
They lay in silence, and her eyes got heavy as his hands caressed her bare back. It was heaven. She could fall asleep in that spot on him, staying there for days and he wouldn’t complain.
He ran his hand over her head, and she snuggled deeper into his hold. God, that felt good.
“Pretty girl, did I lose you?”
In her relaxed state, she whispered, “Never.” He had the feeling she didn’t quite realize how true her statement was, at least not yet.
“Hey.” He scratched her head. She curled into his hand like a cat. “Damn, I love you like this. All sweet and clingy.”
She poked his ribs. “I’m not clingy. I just like you right now. A lot.” She sighed, resting her weight over him. Her fingers circled over his chest.
“Whatcha thinkin’?”
“Nothing.” Her answer was too quick. She was the worst liar. He chuckled causing her to shift to her stomach, resting her chin on his chest, gazing up at him.
“What?”
“You can’t lie for shit, that’s what.”
Her eyes cast down to his neck and flickered back up. “I don’t know if it’s okay to ask you…I just don’t…” She scanned his face searching. Whatever she wanted to ask had her debating on how he would take it. “It’s personal.”
He nodded. “Ahh…well, let me save you the embarrassment of asking.” He smirked. “Eight inches.” He wiggled his brows.
She closed her eyes. Watching the smile spread across her face and her body shake over him had him grinning.
“What? That wasn’t the question?”
Her laugh was soft, almost like a blanket covering him, a sound ringing in his ears like a favorite song. He wanted to hear it play over and over. Her body settled as her laughter died off. It wasn’t what she was going to ask. He knew that. Seeing her fumble through her words, afraid to ask, didn’t sit well with him.
“Hey, pretty girl,” he whispered and waited for her to look up. “You can ask me anything. Anything.”
Her lips pulled down in a frown, her brows furrowed in stress. She drew in a breath before opening her mouth. “Do you ever think about your mom? Not your mom…” She stammered. “I mean, Cheryl.”
His hands caressing her back stilled. Not because she asked but how she did it. Her acknowledgment of knowing his biological mother was not who he considered his mom, tugged somewhere deep at his heart.
“The truth?”
She nodded as her lips tightened into a straight line. He rarely talked about Cheryl, at least not to his family. They all had their past before being adopted. Some harsher than others but all of them choosing to leave it in the past.
“I never used to. Once my mom and dad took me in, adopted me, they were it for me. Never looked back.” His fingers slid over her soft back. It was soothing. “Until a few mon
ths back. After T announced Cassie was pregnant, I thought about her a lot. Ya know, those two, the family, everyone so fucking excited.” He snickered. “Even me. I got to thinking this is how it should be, ya know. I don’t know why but for the first time in my life I just had to know, where she was, what happened to her.”
“Did you?”
“Yeah. Looked into her, she had gotten married, had two kids. Lives about two hours from here.” He glanced down at Kenzie. There was a pain in her eyes, a mixture of sorrow and pity. Bogs smiled, not from happiness, but the irony of the situation of how Cheryl’s life turned out. “Ya know, I figured she was either dead or lived some fucked-up life, chasing after some guy, same as when I was a kid. The search I did on her proved to be the opposite though. She worked part-time at her husband’s hardware store, volunteered at the school, belonged to a church.” He sighed. “Had to see it though. See it for myself.”
“What did you do?”
“Drove down to her place, parked a few doors down and waited. I watched the house for an hour before I saw her. She wasn’t anything like I remembered. She was carrying a case of water, trailed by two boys, one in a baseball uniform, the other running behind his brother flying a toy plane. The little guy, man, looked just like me when I was that age.” Bogs snorted. “Damn good-looking kid.”
She dug her fingers into his chest. Maybe on reflex or to comfort him, either way, it felt good to feel her touch. The tears welling in her eyes were another thing. He didn’t want that.
“Did you talk to her?”
“No, just watched. Took her a few trips to pack up her minivan. Watched the boys chase after each other, laughing and smiling. Happy. When she locked up the house, she came down the stairs saying something to them with a big smile on her face. I couldn’t hear, but the boys ran over to her. She leaned down, said something else, and they laughed. They got in the car and left. And then so did I. Leaving the past in the past.”
His search into Cheryl was far more in-depth than he told Kenzie. He did background checks, hacked into children’s services, and the accounting firm that handled her husband’s business. Everything came up clean, no records or reports. They were the average happy family.
“You don’t want to see her? Or your brothers?”
“She turned her life around, made good on the promise to be a good mom to my grandparents. Even if it wasn’t to me, her kids are taken care of and happy. That’s good enough for me. Around her, I’d always be that eight-year-old kid, scared and unwanted.” He wrapped his arms around her back pulling her deeper into his chest. “That’s not me anymore. I got my family, my dad and mom who loved me, brothers and a sister who piss me off on a daily basis, but I wouldn’t change that shit for anything.” He leaned into her, and she rushed up, meeting his lips for a salty kiss from her tears. “And I got you.”
“You got me, Bogs,” she whispered. He rested his head back and stared up at the ceiling. Even with his admission, it was in the past, a cut so deep never really faded. The mood was heavy.
“So, are you ever going to tell me your real name?” The question came out of nowhere, but he had the feeling she was trying her best to lighten the mood.
He peered down and smirked. “Gotta promise ya won’t laugh.”
“I promise.”
He drew in a breath. “Harrison.”
Harrison Garrison. She tightened her lips, clamping them closed. It was the only way to keep from laughing. It was no use. Her body shook, and she smiled with her lips pressed together.
He narrowed his eyes. “Don’t do it, you promised.”
She shook her head, holding in her laughter until it broke past her lips. She shoved her face against his chest, gasping for breath, “I’m sorry.” Her giggle erupted again.
He tugged her into his chest. “If you weren’t so damn cute, I’d be pissed right now.”
She wiped her eyes which had welled up from holding in her laugh. “So, how did you wind up with Bogs?”
“Once I changed my name, the kids at school teased me every chance they got. It was my mom who started calling me Bogs, believe it or not. My original last name was Bogner. She just shortened it.”
“Can I call you Harrison?” She cocked an eyebrow.
“Only when I make you come.” He winked.
“Deal.”
Chapter Fifteen
“So, this is the house you grew up in?” Kenzie asked. The road to his dad’s property was long and winding but flat, and either side had wood fencing leading up to the house.
“Yeah.” He glanced over and winked. “Wanna see my bedroom?”
She chuckled, ignoring his question. She actually did want to see his room, for curiosity purposes, of course, nothing more. “When did you move out?”
He leaned his elbow on the window, driving with his free hand, while the other was clasped with hers. “Well…I think I was twenty-one. No, wait, twenty-two. I got my place the summer I graduated.”
“You come back a lot?”
Bogs snorted. “As if I got a choice, my sister plans parties and dinners every other weekend. That’s what she does. She’s an event planner. I think she uses us as Guinea pigs for her business.” He chuckled barring right as the house came into view. “Don’t mind though. I like being around my family. Even T and Stone, if you can believe it. It’s better now that they got women. Gives me a better view than their ugly ass faces.”
They pulled up behind a silver car that looked out of place amongst all the trucks. When she got out and rounded the front, she took a closer look at the car. Gorgeous.
“That’s Ethan’s.”
“Your brother?”
“Yeah, and try not to be so obvious when you meet him.” He cocked an eyebrow. “It fucks with my ego.”
His ego? “I don’t understand.”
Bogs grabbed her hand and whispered. “You will.”
They weaved through the cars, about fifteen of them if she had to guess. This was more of a party and less like a family dinner. Her palms started to sweat. There was an awkward rush of nerves she felt. Meeting his family seemed like a big deal, even if he played it off. Maybe it wasn’t important to him, but it was scaring the crap out of her. They walked up the pathway leading to the porch.
“It’s beautiful.”
“Yeah, awesome place to be a kid.”
“So, how big is your family anyway?”
Bogs snorted. “Not this big. I have a feeling our family dinner turned into something bigger. Rox does that shit, she probably ran into friends and invited everyone.”
Kenzie was expecting a house full of people, but when they entered the house, it was empty. The large foyer led into a living room with the walls adorned by pictures. She followed Bogs as they made their way through the house. It was spacious and warm, giving off a homey vibe. She stopped short when a photo caught her eye. She leaned in closer to see four boys, covered in what looked like mud. How strange.
“Mud fight.”
She jerked her head over her shoulder. Bogs was smiling, but his eyes were set on the picture.
“You had a mud fight?”
“It was supposed to be a snowball fight.” Bogs chuckled. “We were expecting a snow storm, and you know for Houston that’s rare. Well, they had built it up to the point where schools were closing with anticipation for it. I spent days talking about everything we were gonna do. Had a kickass design for a snowman for Rox. We were gonna sleigh ride, but the biggest plan was for an epic snowball fight. It’s all I could think about. You can guess what happened, right?”
Kenzie turned to face Bogs and playfully pouted. “It never snowed.”
“No, and I was pissed and so fucking disappointed. They were calling for six inches, and all we got was rain and a shit ton of it.”
“That sucks.”
“Right?” He shrugged glancing down at the picture. “But with all the rain, it made for some awesome mud balls.”
“When life hands you lemons, you make lemonade.
”
Bogs shifted his glance to Kenzie and grinned. “You love those sayings, don’t ya?”
“Well, it certainly fits.” The deep voice husky voice came from behind Bogs. Kenzie looked over his shoulder to see an older man. He was smiling as he walked over to them. Bogs laughed and embraced the man in a hug.
“Hey, Dad.”
“Was wondering when you were going to show up. Not like you to be late for a party.”
“Last I heard it was dinner, not a party.”
“Well, Roxanne had other ideas.” He stepped forward reaching out his hand. “You must be Kenzie. I’m John.”
“It’s nice to meet you.” Kenzie took his hand. This was his dad? Most men her dad’s age didn’t hold much appeal to her, but John was very handsome and in great shape.
“It’s very nice to meet you, too.” He eyed Bogs and smiled. “I’ve heard a lot about you.”
Kenzie watched the small exchange between father and son. How much did John know? Bogs smirked and shook his head. “Everyone out back?”
John chuckled. “Yes, you two should head on out.”
Bogs grabbed her hand and pulled her through the hall to the kitchen.
“What was that about?”
Bogs sighed and turned back. “I’m the last single guy in the family. They’ve all been waiting for me to fall. They’re taking a lot of joy in it. Fuckers.”
Fall? What was he talking about? She squeezed his hand when he moved forward. “Wait, Bogs, what do you mean by fall?”
He glanced over his shoulder as he gripped the sliding door leading into the yard. “Fall for a girl.” He tugged her hand, smiling. “Come on.”
She had no time to register what he had just said. When she walked through the door her eyes widened as she took in the scene. This definitely wasn’t a dinner. This was a party.
The bonfire had been started and people milled around the yard. A lot of people. Mostly her age, some a bit older. No one seemed to notice their arrival. Good, they could make a quiet entrance.
“Party’s here,” Bogs shouted, and Kenzie whipped her head up at him. So much for a subtle entrance. There were shouts of welcome, and he gripped her hand tighter and led her into a larger group off the end of the deck. She didn’t recognize anyone, but he introduced her to everyone.
