“You little bitch. I gotta get out of here before I kill you,” Aunt Tricey said as she rushed out of the front door, slamming and locking it behind her.

Kylie sat there with tears and blood running down her face as she remembered all Aunt Tricey had said. She wondered if all of it was true. Had her grandmother actually did all those things intentionally to hurt Aunt Tricey? Suddenly, Kylie realized that Aunt Tricey had left her alone. She shook off her emotions and questions, wiped away her tears, and decided it was time to begin her plan. She looked around the room and noticed that her wheelchair was less than a foot away. Kylie tried to move her legs so that she could get up and get to her chair, but they still wouldn’t move. She could wiggle her toes and flex the muscles in her legs, but they were still too hard to move.

Kylie extended her arm and pulled the chair to her bed then positioned herself over it. She was able to move her body from the bed to the chair with ease, dragging her limp legs. Once in the chair, Kylie put her feet on the pedals and sat back exhausted as she thought about what she was about to do. After a few minutes of rest she wheeled herself into the kitchen and took the rat poison from under the sink, sitting it on the counter. Just then the phone rang and Kylie wheeled herself to Aunt Tricey’s bedroom at the end of the hall to answer it.

When Kylie got to Aunt Tricey’s door she stopped for a second as she stared at the mountains of junk piled everywhere. It smelled like rotten cheese and farts in Aunt Tricey’s room and there was so many piles of trash and clothes everywhere, Kylie had to carefully maneuver her chair to get through. Kylie was exhausted by the time she made it through the junk and to the phone. She answered the phone out of breath just as the caller was about to hang up.

“Hello, may I speak with Ms. Antrice, please? This is Antonio Webber and I am calling her about the stiffen payment from Lakea and Daniel Wright’s estate,” the man on the other end said.

Kylie felt her heart beat a mile a minute as she stared at the phone receiver in disbelief. She had wanted to speak with Mr. Webber so badly over the years to try and get in touch with her brother, but Aunt Tricey would never let her. Now, he was on the phone and her words seemed to be stuck in her throat. Mr. Webber cleared his throat and said hello again, snapping Kylie out of her panic.

“Mr. Webber. This is Kylie. I’m so happy you called. Can you please give me the number where I can reach my brother?” Kylie asked as tears fell from her eyes.

She was so overwhelmed with emotion at that moment she couldn’t fight back the tears that wanted to break free.

“Kylie? Is that you? What’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Mr. Webber asked with deep concern in his voice.

Kylie wanted so badly to tell him everything and ask him to come get her or send help, but her desire to see Aunt Tricey, Derrik, and Alicia suffer was stronger than her desire to save herself. She was willing to lose her life at that point just to see them suffer as they had made her, so she sucked up her tears and lied to the lawyer.

“I’m okay just missing my brother and she won’t let me talk to him. She won’t buy me anything or give me money either Mr. Webber, so I don’t think she should receive the stiffen. Keep it. I’ll be coming to get it myself soon,” Kylie said as she listened to the sounds of Mr. Webber's breathing.

He was quiet for moment just holding the phone. Kylie thought he had hung up until she could hear the sound of him typing on the computer.

“Kylie, I am so happy to hear from you. I’ve asked to speak to you several times, but your Aunt always said you were unavailable. I had a feeling that something was wrong and now I’m sure of it. I will be in Memphis the day after tomorrow to check on you, so in the meantime just hold on. Here is your brother’s number in the music department at Atlanta A&M University where he sometimes works,” Mr. Webber said with sympathy in his voice.

Kylie’s hands shook as she quickly wrote down her brother’s number on the pad next to the phone. She held it in her hands like a precious jewel as she told Mr. Webber how much she appreciated his help.

“Okay Kylie, call J-J. He really wants to talk to you. It seems your Aunt has been keeping him from you just like she did me, but we’ll have all that settled soon. Don’t you worry, Kylie,” Mr. Webber said before Kylie told him thank you again and hung up.

Kylie’s mind wondered and her hands trembled as she dialed the number Mr. Webber gave her and waited on someone to answer the phone. After six rings and no answer, Kylie heard an answering machine come on and then she heard J-J’s voice. Kylie’s heart fluttered as she listened to her brother’s callback message and then she began to quickly tell his machine what was happening after the beep. She had to look behind her as she talked because she thought she heard footsteps, but no one was there.

“J-J, this is Kylie. I miss you so much brother and this fat, evil bitch told me that you didn’t want to see me, but I know it isn’t true. Come get me J-J- please! They beat me and starve me, and Alissa cut off all of my hair. Call this lady named Constance she works here in Memphis at the Regional One Medical Center. She will tell you what’s going on and where to find me. Her number is 901-555-5520. Call her and y’all come get me. I’m afraid of what they may do to me if I have to stay here any longer, so you have to come now. Help me brother,” Kylie cried into the phone receiver until she heard the machine beep again, ending the message.

Kylie sat there in a daze with tears in her eyes, thinking about the day she would see her brother again and be free. Suddenly, she heard Aunt Tricey’s footsteps behind her and turned to see her evil face staring right at her.

“What the fuck are you doing in my room and on the phone lil’ bitch?” Aunt Tricey asked as she wobbled around the bed and snatched the phone out of Kylie’s hand.

She stared down at J-J’s number on the pad and grabbed it and ripped it up as Kylie rolled her eyes.

“Oh so you calling for help, huh? After I was being nice to you, bitch this is how you repay me?” Aunt Tricey yelled as she slapped Kylie repeatedly across the face.

Kylie grabbed her arm and tried to yank her down like she did Alissa, but Aunt Tricey was way too fat and strong. She punched Kylie several times in the face and head then quickly wheeled her out of the room and into the kitchen while she sat there dazed. When they got into the kitchen, Kylie noticed that she had left the rat poison on the counter and so did Aunt Tricey.

“Oh so you was going to poison me bitch?” Aunt Tricey asked as she slapped Kylie across the back of the head again before opening the basement door.

Kylie tried to hold on to the door jam as Aunt Tricey pushed her closer to the steps, but she beat her hands with her massive fists causing her to let go.

“Here go yo help lil’ wanch!” Aunt Tricey yelled as she dumped Kylie out of the wheelchair and her body tumbled down the basement steps.

Aunt Tricey’s evil voice was the last thing Kylie heard before darkness took her again.

  Chapter 12

Pain and darkness enveloped Kylie as she woke up that evening still crumbled at the bottom of the basement steps. She slowly lifted her head and fought through the pain from the big gash she got during the fall. Kylie stared at the blood on her hands in the little light coming from the basement window and she felt her rage ignite again. She now wanted to kill Aunt Tricey more than anything in the world, but she knew that her plan wouldn’t work. She had to make another plan.

Kylie looked around for weapons as she pulled her body across the dirty basement floor. Suddenly, she saw a can of paint thinner on a shelf and thought of a new plan to get revenge. Kylie pulled herself over to the can and grabbed some rags off the shelf, which she doused in the flammable liquid. The smell from the paint thinner made Kylie feel light headed, but she continued to wet the rags and think of what she would do with them.

Kylie decided she would get whoever came down stairs first and stood close enough to her. She would stuff the rag down their throat, and then she’d use the book of matches she found to set their ass on fire.
It was a good plan in her rage filled mind although she doubted it would ever work. Suddenly, fatigue came over Kylie in a violent burst. She slowly drug herself across the floor to the dirty mat with the rags and matches still in her hand. Kylie passed out from exhaustion as soon as she had her upper body on the mattress.

The sound of someone coming down the steps dragging her wheelchair and the light being turned on woke Kylie up some time later. She quickly looked at the window to see that it was very dark, and it was probably after one a.m. Kylie pulled herself up and tucked the rags and matches under her dress as Derrik came around the corner in his boxers with a blunt in his mouth, smiling at her.

Kylie’s heart raced as Derrik set up her chair and came over to her, lifting her up and sitting her in the chair. She was sure he smelled the scent from the paint thinner, but the mango cigar filled with kush he was smoking helped to mask the smell.

“Hey princess, you ready for me?” Derrik asked as he smiled at Kylie then turned to look out of the window.

When Derrik turned his head, Kylie quickly took the rag and matches from under her dress and put them in the pocket on her chair.

“It’s a beautiful night to make love to a cripple,” Derrik said as he turned back to Kylie smiling, still puffing his blunt.

Kylie stared at him in disgust as he walked closer and ran his hand across her bald-head. She cringed at his touch. She hated him so much her skin burned every time he touched her. Derrik stared at Kylie as he continued to smoke his blunt and smile.

“It’s amazing to me how you’re still beautiful with patches in yo damn head. Hell, you look better than Alicia and Alissa with no hair and bruises all over yo damn face. Was yo mama this damn fine too? Maybe that’s why they hated her so much. But anyway, the real question I want to ask is...what that mouth do?” Derrik asked as he pulled out his short, fat penis, and began to stroke it in Kylie’s face.

Kylie could feel all of the food she’d eaten churn in her stomach and her rage reignite as Derrik put his fully erect penis in her face. She hated him so much for what he was doing to her. She wanted to make him hurt in the worse way possible and at that second she knew exactly what she had to do.

“Now Ima tell you how this gonna go. You gonna suck my dick and then I’m gonna fuck you until yo crippled ass feel it,” Derrik said grabbing the back of Kylie’s head.

“If you bite me bitch, Ima kill you,” Derrik said puffing his blunt as he guided his dick into Kylie’s mouth.

Kylie gagged as Derrik’s salty, dirty penis slipped down her throat and mixed with the vomit that was coming up. She had to gasp for air out of the sides of her mouth as Derrik thrust his dick deeper and deeper. Tears fell from Kylie’s eyes as Derrik smoked his bunt and used his free hand to fondle her breast. All she could think about was getting that rag in his mouth and setting his ass on fire as he made love to her face.

“Hold it with yo hand!” Derrik yelled as Kylie quickly grabbed his short, fat penis with her left hand and let her right hand slip into the pocket on her chair.

Derrik closed his eyes and thrust his pelvis into Kylie’s face as he continued to smoke. Kylie peered up at him with tears in her eyes, vowing that would be the last time anyone ever saw him again. Suddenly, Derrik bent over with his penis still in her mouth and stuck his hand under her dress. When he touched her vagina for the first time since the accident, Kylie felt everything. Her heart beat fast as she tried to move her leg and Derrik continued to thrust his dick into her mouth while fingering her. This time when Kylie tried she felt her leg move as her foot fell off the pedal.

Relief rushed over Kylie and mixed with the hate as she used all of her might to get her foot back on to the pedal. Derrik was enjoying his moment, so much he didn’t even notice what was going on. Kylie slowly pulled on of the rags and matches out of her pocket and held it in her hand on the side of her chair as Derrik moaned in delight. Paint thinner from the rag dripped all over the floor around them as Kylie prepared to end her torture.

Derrik took his hand out of Kylie’s vagina and smelled his fingers while looking at her smiling. Kylie gave him the most evil look she could as he continued to laugh and puff the blunt in his hands.

“You don’t like me, huh? Well I don’t give a fuck. Now, give me a kiss before I get in that pussy,” Derrik said as started to slowly pull his dick out of her mouth to lean down to kiss her.

At that moment Kylie took a deep breath and bit down as hard as she could, snapping Derrik’s dick off an inch above the shaft. Derrik screamed out when he saw his dick in Kylie’s mouth and all of the blood that was pouring from his groin. Kylie spit the short, dirty piece of flesh at him while smiling with blood around her mouth. She quickly pulled a shocked Derrik down to her by his shirt.

Suddenly, she jammed the rag in his mouth, deep down his throat, and pushed her chair forward, pinning him against the wall while squeezing his balls. Derrik tried to squirm and punch her, but Kylie pushed her chair harder, pinning his knee against her wheel. Kylie’s quick actions caught Derrik by surprise causing him to drop the blunt that was still in his hand right into the trail of paint thinner. Derrik and Kylie’s chair quickly burst into flames.

Kylie was in shock as Derrik started to burn and flap around, setting the end of her dress on fire. She quickly backed away from Derrik and beat the flames on her dress out as Derrik ran around the basement setting everything that he touched on fire. Kylie hadn’t even noticed that her chair was on fire as she laughed at Derrik, not until she felt the flames on her legs. She quickly threw her body out of the chair and began pulling herself up the stairs as the basement became fully engulfed in flames.

Kylie could feel the heat from the fire raging behind her and she could hear Derrik’s screams as she pulled herself up the stairs using her now awake feet to help her along the way. Kylie had to use every muscle in her body as she made her way up the steps. When she got to the top of the steps, she looked back to see the blaze engulfing the ceiling and Derrik’s body laying at the bottom of the steps on fire. Kylie felt relief knowing that one of her tormentors was dead, but she wasn’t out of danger yet. She knew that she had to stand up to get out of the basement so Kylie channeled all of her strength and the angels she had watching her as she pulled her body up by the banister.

Kylie’s legs shook under her weight as she got into a standing position, but she didn’t fall. She took one step up on to the landing just as the ceiling of the basement collapsed and the fire pushed her into the kitchen. Kylie lay on the kitchen floor for a second as the smoke filled her lungs then she heard her mother’s voice urging her to get up.

“Get up Kylie and get out of that house. You can do it. Get up NOW!” Lakea’s voice echoed in Kylie’s ears as she pulled her body up on the table and stood.

Kylie wobbled into the living room coughing as the fire in the basement quickly spread to the rest of the house, filling it with smoke. Kylie went directly for the door until she heard Aunt Tricey’s snores coming from the living room. She slowly wobbled in on her weak, fragile legs and stared at Aunt Tricey sitting sleep in her chair with her song book in her hands, oblivious to everything that was going on. Before Kylie knew what she was doing, she grabbed the same scissors Alissa used to cut her hair and stood over Aunt Tricey, staring at her hateful face. She thought about all Aunt Tricey had done to her and her family as she raised the scissors and prepared to stab her.

“This is the end of you evil bitch!” Kylie yelled as Aunt Tricey’s eyes snapped open and she stabbed her over and over again in the neck.

Kylie was like a maniac as she stabbed Aunt Tricey and her blood squirted all over her. Once Aunt Tricey stopped moving and Kylie knew she was dead, she grabbed her book, wiped the blood off of it on Aunt Tricey’s shirt, and then slowly turned around to make her way to the front door. The fire was now raging through the first floor, engulfing the old wood in flames. Kylie thought about making her way upstairs to kill Alicia, but she was afraid her body wouldn’t let her. She
decided letting her burn alive would be enough so she turned back to the door just as someone began banging on it.

“Kylie open the door!” Someone yelled from outside as Kylie slowly stumbled towards the door.

Her heart raced as she recognized the voice at the door as J-J’s and she tried to rush to open it. Just as Kylie touched the knob, she heard a shrill cry behind her and turned to see Alicia running towards her at full speed. She had seen her mother’s dead body and was going to try to kill Kylie with her bare hands. Kylie tried to get away, but Alicia quickly yanked her by her dress, pulling her back deeper into the house. Alicia began punching and scratching Kylie as she tried to fight her off. Kylie could hear J-J kicking the door in as Alicia jumped on top of her and began choking her as J-J continued kicking the door.

Kylie felt the air leaving her body as Alicia continued to press her thumbs into her throat. She could hear another voice yelling with J-J as she struggled to take in air while scratching and punching at Alicia. Kylie glanced at the door as Alicia continued to choke and curse at her when suddenly it came tumbling down. Kylie watched as nurse Constance quickly rushed into the house with J-J close behind her and knocked Alicia off of her.
