Je T'aime

“Yes. I have a small thing for you from America. My sister sent it to me.” From his pocket, he pulled a small pink and red box.
“Candy hearts,” she exclaimed. “I love those.”
From the opened top, he pulled a light pink heart stamped with red lettering. He held it up. “Do you know these words?”
She gasped as she read them. “Je t’aime. I know these words.”
He placed his hands on her face. His palms were rough, but his touch was gentle. “Je t’aime. I love you passionately.”
She didn’t need a translator for those words, especially after her pulled her into a kiss. His mouth explored hers, as his hands pressed her closer. She gripped onto him, not wanting to ever let him go. She pressed her hand upon his lips to stop him for a moment. She had practiced the words in class. He had to hear them now. “Étienne, I have been too quiet. You are the man I have always wanted. I love you.” In English, she said, “It is what I would have said even without all of this.” She waved her hand at the shop behind her.
“Good. We will make a life together, you and I.” He kissed her cheek.
“Yes.”
“We must tell Brigitte to not return.” He kissed her other cheek.
“Yes.”
“And only I will teach you French.”
“Maybe a little school? I learn so much there.”
“Then I will be the only one to teach you this French.” He took her mouth in a deep kiss with his tongue tangling with hers.
Delight and desire spread through her, and she wished to no longer be on the street. “Yes. Only you. To do that properly, we should go home.”
“I agree. I made dinner, coq au vin.”
“Dinner will have to wait.”
“Yes, my love.”
About the Author
A few years ago, Ursula Whistler got annoyed at a misunderstanding that happened with a group blog. That anger spurred her to write an erotic romance that, after many rounds of editing, became her first published story. Through some more writing and plenty of support from her colleagues in the Southern Louisiana Romance Writers group, she kept writing contemporary erotic romances mostly set in New Orleans.
Now that she’s moved to Florida, she’s writing and publishing with The Wild Rose Press as she adjusts to beach life and caring for her ailing mother. You won’t hear much about her mother unless you follow her on Facebook or Twitter, but at her website, she writes the stories behind the stories and other snapshots of her life.
