The Senator's Choice Page 27

by Combs, Sasha

Morgan shook her head, causing her ponytail to wag like a trotting horses tail.

“On the last day that you saw your mother, and you left her room crying... Was that the point when you knew that you’d lost your chance to ask for her forgiveness?”

Tiny tears gathered in the corner of her eyes, causing William to rise from his chair. He wanted to hold his daughter in the comfort of his warm embrace, but Morgan bravely waved him away. William didn’t understand why she wouldn’t allow him to comfort her. He supposed, his brave girl didn’t believe she deserved to have her feelings pampered or caressed. In some ways he had to agree. Morgan had been given so much in her young life. Due to his responsibilities he’d not been as actively involved in her life. Demands placed on him and Bianca gave them few choices. This left Morgan on her own to grow up with others paid to be held accountable for her upbringing.

When at last, her tears began to slow; Morgan’s appetite wasn’t the same after her confession. She sipped from the glass containing her freshly squeezed orange juice, then she gestured at the pot holding the hot coffee.

“Can I freshen up your coffee for you daddy?”

He nodded while watching his growing princess. As she carefully filled his cup with streaming coffee, William phrased his question.

“Morgan, when I arrived with Pamela and her family, you weren’t immediately rude to them. But after you learned about Pamela...was your anger fueled due to me not telling you about the marriage or was there something else causing your temper to boil over?”

This was the hundred thousand dollar question and it wasn’t until the bear incident that the answer had come to Morgan. Her eyes fell low, landing on the table. She couldn’t bring herself to look William in his face.

“I was angry because I thought you had replaced my mother, which meant you were being given a second chance to be happy. While me on the other hand...I have never been forgiven for behaving so badly. And when mommy was no longer responding to me, I knew my opportunity had slipped away. Seeing Pamela only emphasized this point and I lashed out at her because it was convenient to blame her instead of myself. I wanted to cast doubt on the friendship that we formed after mommy died. I wanted you to believe that all along she had an ulterior motive. It was crazy of me to think that you would believe my silly ramblings but I wasn’t thinking straight and I just wanted her to go away.”

“What made you think that running away was the answer to all your problems? You could have gotten yourself killed. I need you to understand that Morgan because I never want to live through anything remotely resembling these past few days, ever again.”

Morgan felt the sting in his words, cutting to the crux of this conversation. Her actions could have ended badly, and Pamela could have ended up dead.

“Daddy, I don’t know what possessed me. All night, I tried to sleep and I could only see Pamela sitting at the dinner table next to you, where my mommy should have been. I noticed whenever your hand wasn’t in plain sight; I knew that you were touching her leg, lending her your support. In that moment I hated her for that. Then when you sent me to bed, I had lost all faith that you would see my side. Which left me with no other choice. I didn’t want to talk to you so I left. I chose the farthest cabin away from the house because I thought that, by going there I would have at least two days to think on my own. I never considered that you would check all the cabins simultaneously.”

“We didn’t check all the cabins. After Miguel noticed a footprint left in the mud, he deduced that you had to be heading in either one of two directions. So we split up to check the cabins in both of those areas. It was sheer luck that my party was the group that found you.”

She nodded, now knowing how and why things happened as they did. Morgan looked at her dad now with a new feeling of hope.

“Daddy do you ever think that you could forgive me.”

A tight smile eased across his face making him wonder what would entice his daughter to ask such an insane question.

“Morgan, I love you and there is an endless flow of forgiveness in my heart for you.”

“You forgive me for everything? Even how horrible I was to mommy?”

This time, William wouldn’t allow his little teenager to brush off his hug. He needed this show of affection just as much for himself as Morgan did. William lifted Morgan from her chair, and squeezed her until she giggled. The top of her ribbon tickled the rim of his nose.

William was still holding his daughter and he felt her head when she lay her face sideways to rest on his chest.

“Daddy...?” she said with a distinct inflection in her voice.

  “Yes, sweetheart?”

“Do you think that Pamela will forgive me as easily as you just did? And before you answer that, I want you to please tell her that, I would have died if that bear had hurt her. Daddy, I was so afraid but Pamela...she stood up for me. She kept herself in between me and that bear. I’ve never seen anyone as brave or fearless as her.”

Morgan’s relaxed body began to tremble. As her body shook, her legs were barely able to keep her standing upright. Earlier, he had marveled over her composure, but now in a moment of weakness William realized that she was reliving those tortuous moments back at the cabin. His hand stroked the length of her long ponytail, attempting to derail her thoughts. But before he could accomplish this, Morgan began a long litany, listing her shortcomings and faults. William did not interrupt her because his daughter needed this. She’d been the one to tell him how awful she’d felt over not having the chance to gain her mother’s forgiveness. Even though, he knew he would forgive every terrible thing she’d ever done; he also wouldn’t deny her these precious golden minutes to beg for forgiveness in a way that would absolve her from her mental guilt.

William’s hand kept pace with its steady strokes. When much of what she shared sounded more like disconnected ramblings, William guided his distraught daughter to the small couch in her suite. They sat there most of the morning, talking over every topic that came to mind. William touched on the things that would obviously be different in their lives. They also talked about how much their lives would remain the same. He noticed when Morgan hung dearly on these words because stability was the one thing she craved the most and he wanted to set her mind at ease.

When consciences were cleared of any residual misunderstandings, Morgan lay in the crook of her father’s arms happy and satisfied with their results. She noticed William when he peered at the clock on the wall, noting the passage of time.

“Daddy...do you think that Pamela is awake by now?”

  William shrugged.

“I don’t know. She’s had a rough couple of days. I would imagine, last night was her first restful evening without something to worry over.”

“Do you think that she’ll want to talk to me? Not now, of course. Later...maybe after you’ve talked to her and she’s had time to think about what we’ve shared.”

William laughed, then he said... “Morgan, after the bear incident how could you ever doubt Pamela’s feelings for you? She loves you and she wants to have a relationship with you, more than you could ever know.”

This sounded good to Morgan, but she still wanted to wait a little while longer. For her, the bear terror still hummed in her brain like a low residual buzz. She knew that Pam’s memory had to be ten times more severe than hers. Morgan wouldn’t feel the least bit of hurt if Pamela refused to set eyes on her. Particularly, after what she’d put them all through. In fact, she wanted forgiveness to come much slower from the one person she’d inflicted the most harm on. Pamela had risked all, even though she knew inside of her body, a baby was attempting to grow.

William heard a light tapping on the bedroom door, followed by his mother’s voice.

“Morgan...dear your Poppy and I wanted to know if you’d like to take a short walk with us?”

This was the signal for the end of their shared breakfast; food that was hardly touched.

  Morgan eased from her
father’s arms, then she kissed him on the side of his face while she stood in one fluid motion.

“Coming Nanny.” She trilled. She turned back to look at her father as he stood. Her eyes traveled upward; his height eclipsing her small frame. William spotted her changed mood immediately giving him a sense of closure. The worst was over now, but there were still many things that needed to be done to give them a sense of family.

“Will you go back to your suite to check on Pamela now?”

  William nodded yes.

Morgan walked over to the door to answer it. She rested her hand on the knob, turning to talk to him one final time before taking her nature walk with her grandparents.

  “Thanks daddy.”

  “For what baby?”

  “O, for just being you.”

William smiled. And when Morgan said her next set of words, he heard the release of an unsteady sigh, revealing his true hesitation.

“Tell Pamela that I’m sorry and that I’ll never put her through anything like that ever again.”

William was touched by his daughter’s words. He lowered and kissed the side of her face, and in his heart he knew that they definitely had bridged troubled waters. From this point, he was praying for clear sailing.

As they left her bedroom, Morgan and Mildred were met at the landing by Wallace. William waved at them while he continued on to his room to check on his wife. He admonished himself for being such a poor host because he still had not checked on Michael and LaShawn. But after all that they’d endured he was certain his friends would forgive him.

When William crept slowly in the bedroom, by the sound of her breathing, it was clear to him that Pamela was still in a deep sleep. Looking at her stretched out body, he tried to imagine a growing expanding belly. A smile lit his face at this thought because he couldn’t wait to meet his child. Even though currently the baby wasn’t larger than his tiny finger, he knew how quickly that would all change. Morgan was proof of that and she seemed to have grown overnight. William didn’t want to miss out on one bit of this pregnancy.

With that in mind, he peeled off his clothes, and eased back into his bed, replacing himself with the pillow that Pamela had been hugging. He heard the sound of a sexy moan coming from her delicious tempting lips. William leaned forward to sample what her mouth had to give. As he kissed her, he inhaled a deep whiff of her aroma. He wanted to ignite his senses all at once. His arms drew her in close to him, while his eyes drank her in like a large gulp of water. Everything about her pleased him and he wondered at what point this feeling would wain. Truthfully, William needed this emotion to tone down because he never wanted to be parted from her again.

Pamela felt his tongue with it teased at her lips, tempting her to part her opening. When she did, his tongue dipped low, then began stroking in a brush like motion. His hand braced the back of her head as she gently repositioned to lie on top of him. She tucked her knees underneath, allowing her body to straddle him for a ride. William eased her gown up pass her firm thighs, exposing her near nakedness. When their bodies touched, a heat burned like a red hot poker; demanding to be gratified.

As their lips sought out oral pleasures, William’s hand guided her hips to rise. Then he urged her to sheath his length with the folds of her inviting sex. Pamela lowered, allowing the head of his shaft to be gloved by her body. She heard a tight groan mixed with her purring whimper. Her muscles spasmed around him, causing William to hold her body still. Trimmers teased every cell in his body, making him consider the wisdom in moving further. He wasn’t ready to be completely engulfed by her. She was already testing his sexual reserve. But damned be to wisdom, he lived for this now. His body responded, excited by her every touch.

As his hands waltzed over her body, touching her in places that lit her on fire, Pamela began a slow rocking motion to edge them on. Behind closed eyes, she pictured him in her mind because she needed to remain focused. He was filling her, even more with each rock of her hips. Her downward thrust would cause heat to explode in the middle half of her body. The burning feeling in her legs heightened with her sway. The smell of their lovemaking held such eroticism. It was like a pheromone, something only their juices' could create and she’d come to love this aroma.

When William thought she was ready to contain his sex, he braced his hand on either side of her waist, pulling down until her body sheathed him with a tight pinching hold. Her hands clawed at his shoulders, holding on for dear life. She couldn’t hold back the gasp that squealed from her parted lips. They lay still like that for a moment. Priming to pounce or take flight. He felt her tight muscles milking him while they lay that way.

Again, with slow steady movements of her hips, Pamela moved while he lifted to a sitting position. William’s eyes were open now and his words were like liquid heat bathing her completely.

“Open your eyes. Look at me Pamela.”

She clinched her teeth because since her pregnancy, she’d noticed how making love felt different. Every touch, every advance was quadrupled in size. Whatever William did to her, these feelings, these touches made Pamela want to jump out of her skin. Making love to him was dangerous and she didn’t know how to explain this to him. But more importantly, she didn’t want him to know. Pamela loved the mind slipping orgasms that snuck up on her without any sign or warning. She felt one of those explosions peeling away at her calm. As it approached, she’d heard William asking her to open her eyes.

With warring sensations hitting her senses, Pamela struggled to focus on William when she finally lifted heavy lids. They had found a rhythm and were rocking in tandem like a teeter-totter. She watched as his dark gaze filled his view with her as its picture. Even this made her body reach a release. For William this was good, because her folds became slick, making his gliding motions meet less resistance.

“Once more...” he said. He’d felt her warm body fluids bathing him and he wanted to make her next experience even greater than the last. He wanted to send her twirling into total collapse. William moved his hand, placing his finger near her most sensitive spot.

“O, William.” Pamela spoke through clinched teeth, making her words low and softly spoken. Due to his own heavy breathing and mutterings, in the mix of their love talk, he hardly heard her cry. His focus was directed on pleasing her, nothing else mattered to him. William used her own moistness to lubricate his fingers. He rolled over the surface of her clit until Pamela couldn’t sit up any longer. She fell forward on his chest, after the thrill of experiencing another orgasm. He kissed the side of her face, then gently switched positions, laying her on the bed while he found a place in between her legs.

As he looked down at her breast; now two perky mounds with nipples erect and ready to be licked. He lowered his head, unable to resist the temptation. In the warmth of his mouth he swirled her nipple with the tip of his tongue, alternately licking to the point of driving her mad. As her body squirmed underneath his weight, he heard her pleading cries.

“William...please, stop teasing me. You know what I want.”

He knew, and he wouldn’t deny her this satisfaction. So without holding back, he lined the head of his sex up, then lifted her hips for ease of entry. His shaft glided into the slick of her wet folds. He felt the strong feeling of her thighs wrapping around his waist, pulling his body closer and deep inside of her. She would not deny herself this enjoyment. As he filled her as never before, drops of sweat dripped from his head, showing her how much effort he placed in their lovemaking. His hand slid across her smooth butt, pulling her hips closer. With each touch, he felt her opening to give him more. He had every intention to please her completely, leaving her sated and satisfied.

With each stroke of his hips, he felt his shaft pressing deep, yet not going to much farther. He had to remind himself; rough sex would have to wait until after the birth of their baby.

Flames raged throughout his body building to a peak. He was near a point of bursting. He felt her sharp nails cutting into the center of hi
s back; and he was quite certain her grip would draw blood. For a second before they each reached their climax; their eyes met in the heat of the moment. No words were wasted, only a glance was required. In the next shared heartbeat, a flash from an explosion leapt from him to her. Hot liquid filled her sex, mixing with the juices she’d created. The wetness remained sealed inside of her, cornered by his lodged length. William filled her completely and there was no space on the top, along the sides nor on the bottom. The liquid would remain there sealed into place due to their connection. Once he withdrew, then the fluid would be free to flow. However, William had no intentions of moving. Not now, or any time soon.

He breathed in a heavy gulp of air, after a long exhalation. His mouth settled at the nook of her neck, kissing and sucking alternately.

“That was wonderful.” She said in a breathless voice.

“I could do for some more, if you’re up to it.”

Pamela laughed, while nudging him on his side, tickling his ribcage.

“Hey...no fair.” William said as a lark but no one was laughing when they made love again, fifteen minutes later. This time, their passion stirred at a much slower rate. William took his time, priming her body and choosing not to rush. They had all morning, all afternoon and all evening if need be. In fact, they had all day. Their presence was sorely missed but no one bothered to knock on their door. Except for the kitchen staff with their snacks and meals. It was important, that they replenish their energy while sealing the bond of their marriage.

  Chapter 11

Ambassador’s Dinner at the White House

“The Senator from Massachusetts, William Randolph Hudson and his wife, Pamela Hudson.”

The secretary introduced the Ambassador representing the United Arab Emirates. The older man smiled, and William noticed the way his eyes danced along Pamela’s body; from her head down to her colored toes, then slowly back to her beautiful smiling face. He’d become use to this kind of response when men were introduced to his wife. By far, she was the most alluring and attractive, woman in the room; even with her small pregnant belly. After the ambassador realized he’d been staring, he quickly adjusted his behavior, then spoke to them using perfect English.
