The Virtual Realm

“Raven! What is he doing?” Scarlet asked.
The megalomaniac's entire body pulsated in an orb of violet blue, numerous mini bolts of lightning dancing around him, as if he had become lightning itself, and was now conjuring a storm. Locks of his void black hair swayed wildly from the electric orb’s pull.
“Don’t tell me...” Reaper proclaimed in horror.
A booming crackle of thunder shook the castle. The deadly orb jutted into several angles, creating electric branches of almighty death as it descended instantaneously onto the hapless populace below. Several bolts of wrath danced across the war-torn skies, homing straight in on the still battling armies at ground level. A collective thud of twenty thousand bodies hit the floor, all killed instantly, their hearts flash fried to a halt from the power spike that shut down their pulse—twenty thousand lives gone in the blink of a lightning strike. This sacrifice appeased the self-proclaimed god Raven, who bore the largest smirk on his face as he waved goodbye to Phoenix, vanishing into thin air.
“How many people must he kill before he’s satisfied?” Tsuki stewed, disgusted with the wretched display. She rose to her feet, wiping the tears from her face as she stared down at Dusk’s passed out body. Though he originally fought Kevlar in self-defense, the torture that followed was completely unnecessary. She couldn’t even look at him right now without being repulsed. A bitter taste was left in her mouth when she thought of how he acted. Either way, now was not the time to think about that. There were more immediate concerns they had to take care of. Deciding thusly, she turned her head away from the sadistic Phantom, freezing her eyes on the man who, unlike Dusk, was a monolith. Omni would never be shaken, and that is why she and everyone else followed his lead.
“So, you said you had a plan, Jed. What is the plan?”
Omni turned to face his comrade and replied, “We must each go personally to the five nations. It will be a tough journey, but a necessary one. Anything less but an in person appearance will not suffice. To accomplish this, one of us must go to each nation.”
“You’re trusting Dusk with such an important task?” Scarlet barked, displeased.
“Though he struggled, he ultimately made the choice not to take revenge upon Kevlar. Even so, there is much he has to learn. His uncertainty was very troubling indeed. I will certainly need to talk with him later. But time is of the essence. The longer we wait, the more likely that more wars will break out. The Draugos and Accursed are already at war.” Omni paused. “Think of this as training for our mission in the real world.”
“What about outside? There is still a battle going on,” Reaper inquired.
“That is a matter we must immediately attend to. We have a lot of unhappy people to deal with,” Omni said, fixing an intense stare into the distance as he retreated deep into contemplation.
Who would have ever thought this virtual game would become like this. In the end, it is all too real. Bermia is now at war with Necrobia. The Accursed and Draugos too, stand locked in conflict. Then there is the matter of Raven, the root of all this strife. In order for this all to end, we must dispatch him and his entourage once and for all. An extremely challenging road lies ahead, but it’s a path I will gladly walk.
Omni smiled warmly at the difficult task ahead of him. This was why Phoenix was formed, to one day put an end to this kind of senseless carnage. We will mend this world and overcome Ouroboros. This will undoubtedly test every member of Phoenix, pushing us to our limits and beyond. I can’t help but look forward to the trials ahead, that we might break through them.
The fearless sage slowly opened the double doors to the great unknown ahead of them. “Our mission begins now...”
