Loud voices came from her living room, and they were men. She recognized one as Messiah but not the other. She instantly got mad because Messiah knew how she felt about people knowing where she lived, especially niggas and random women.
“You having a party?” Jerrico questioned.
“No, that’s my stupid brother and whoever he has with him.”
Jerrico nodded. “You good then?”
Goody tilted her head to the side then shook it while rolling her eyes. His passive demeanor was getting on her nerves.
“Really, Jerrico?”
Jerrico gave her an annoyed look. “Really what?”
“You’re about to just leave?”
“What you want me to do? You got mad at the park, ended our date before I was ready, and now you want me to beg you?” He removed his hat and ran his hand over his head and face. “I’m a grown ass man. I don’t have time for games.”
“What games? You got mad about Elijah and started acting crazy.”
“I was never mad about him. No reason to be. You got in your feelings about a simple question and started being disrespectful, so I let you have your moment.”
“I don’t need a moment, though.” Goody shifted from one foot to the other while looking at the floor.
“What you need?” Jerrico raised her head, so they were making eye contact again.
Her hand grabbed the front of his shirt. “You with me.”
“What about your company?”
“Oh, I’m finna put them out,” she stated with a resurfaced attitude.
He chuckled. “You coming in? You’ve never seen my place.”
“You want to stay here?”
She shrugged. “We can.”
“Aight, let me go park then I’ll be back up here.”
Goody watched him walk off before going inside. She slammed the door to make sure they heard her coming. When she walked into the living room, she saw Messiah, his friend Jamez, and the girl from the other night. Her eyes slanted smaller as she frowned at all the food and beer bottles on her table.
“Messiah, you have lost your muthafucking mind!” She walked in and began knocking bottles off the table. “Clean this shit up before I throw your ass out.”
“Damn, Goody. What’s up, friend?” Jamez said with a smile.
“Don’t hey, friend me. Clean up my shit. Y’all must be crazy.”
She continued her rant as Messiah and Jamez began to pick up stuff and throw it in the trash while the girl sat there watching.
“Hoe, get your ass up and help.”
“Girl, you better watch how you talk to me,” she sassed.
“Oh, you bad, huh? Come get it then, bitch.” Goody dropped her purse and phone on the floor while headed toward the girl.
Since Jamez was the closest to her, he snatched her back while Messiah grabbed his friend and walked her into the room that he’d been occupying since visiting.
“You need to calm down,” Jamez told her.
“She needs to get her ass out,” Goody yelled after Messiah just as Jerrico walked back through the door.
“Baby, let me get my stuff so we can go before I start killing people,” Goody told him and walked out of Jamez’s grip and headed for her room.
Jerrico nodded at Jamez and followed her. He closed the door behind her as she walked into her closet. Goody was grabbing clothes and tossing them into the pink bag that she had sitting on the floor. Jerrico sat on the edge of the bed, watching her.
“You still not hungry? I’m starving.”
Goody was, in fact, hungry, so she nodded with a smile. “I been hungry, but I was mad.”
“Hurry up, so we can get something.”
She walked out of the closet with a sneaky smile on her face. “I can make you something. Might not be as good as yours, but I’m pretty good with food.”
Jerrico lay back on her bed, resting on his elbows. “I’m with that. I can’t wait.” He winked at her.
Goody, unable to control her fast self, walked over and straddled his lap. Her hands ran up his chest and to his neck. Simply enjoying him being there with her, Goody went from rubbing his chest to his arms, and he let her. Soon, he lay all the way back and grabbed one side of her butt while resting the other one behind his head.
“You can’t get mad every time I ask you something that you don’t want to answer.”
“I wasn’t mad,” Goody lied.
“You just said that you were.”
Not really feeling like answering, Goody leaned over and pecked his lips before trying to slide from his lap. Jerrico stopped her and pulled her right back to where she’d been.
“Where you going?”
“I was trying to finish getting ready.”
“Want to play a game with me?”
“It depends on what it is.” Goody rolled her hips around on him.
Jerrico looked down at their midsections before pinching her butt. “You better stop.”
She smiled. “Tell me about your game.” She pushed his shirt up and kissed his abs.
“It’s called shot for shot.”
She laughed while licking his stomach.
“We ask each other questions, and if it’s something you don’t want to answer, you have to drink.
“What’s the object of this game?”
Jerrico grabbed the back of her neck, stilling her tongue. It was rolling dangerously close to his growing erection, and she knew he would be putty soon if she didn’t stop.
“To get to know each other.”
Goody used her mouth to grab his dick through his shorts. Jerrico sucked air through his teeth and pulled her head away from him.
“Stop, girl. What’s wrong with you?”
Goody giggled and fell over onto his chest. “I want it.”
“With your brother and them in there?”
“I’ll be quiet.”
Jerrico paused and looked at her with a serious face.
“Promise?”
Goody nodded, and he sat them up from the bed. She moved to the side as he went to lock the door. As soon as he came back, he pulled her from the bed and bent her over.
“Wait.” Goody moved to her nightstand and pulled out a brand-new box of Magnums.
Jerrico wore a questioning expression, and she laughed.
“Yummy gave them to me yesterday. I’m not even about to tell you what she said to go along with it. Just know she bought them as a gift to you.”
Jerrico smiled and grabbed the box, tearing the plastic from it. When he was sheathed and ready, Goody bent back over the side of her bed while he stood behind her. Jerrico rolled her tights down himself and stepped closer to her. The moment she felt it between her thighs, she squeezed the covers.
“Shhh.” Jerrico reminded her to be quiet.
Goody was nodding to him when she felt it slide in. The covers balled up in her fist as soon as she closed her eyes. The whole thing was in, and she was breathless. Jerrico moved slowly, filling her up and making it juicer with each stroke.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” he whispered.
Goody looked over her shoulder and threw it back to him. His sexy abs were on display as he held the bottom of his shirt between his teeth. Her stomach jumped at how sexy he looked pushing into her. Nothing was better than him. All of his chocolatey goodness rushed through her. At first, his eyes and hands were on her butt, but his eyes left and found hers.
Goody licked her lips. “Harder.”
Her voice was so low that the words had barely come out, but the next stroke he delivered, brought it. She fell forward, grasping onto the bed for dear life. Jerrico came behind her, lying slightly on her back while still beating it so pleasurably good. His repetitive strokes hit deeper and deeper each time he pulled out and dove back in.
“Don’t wait for me.” She turned to the side to look at his face. “I know you’re about to cum. I can feel it.”
Jerrico dropped his head against her shoulder and bit it lightly. Seconds late
r, his body shook, and he was squeezing her body tightly. Goody smiled. She loved the way he reacted whenever he climaxed. It was so weakening. He was breathing hard and kissing the side of her face as he came down from his orgasmic high.
“I owe you.”
“No, you don’t. That feeling was good enough.”
Jerrico kissed her cheek. “You got my mind going in a million directions. Pussy so fucking good,” he gritted out as his body softly jerked.
“It’s yours.” She grinned when he shivered.
They lay together for a few minutes longer before getting themselves together. After a brief shower together, Goody proceeded to clean her apartment while he ran to the store to get the food that she would need to cook for him. Finally accepting the fact that she was indeed falling for Jerrico made Goody feel free. She’d been feeling so angry and burdened down while trying to fight what she already knew to be true, but that was over. He made her feel good, so she was doing him. It was finally time for her to choose herself, and she wanted Jerrico Blake.
Chapter Eleven
You Weren’t the One for Me
Khalid’s “Better” played in the background as Goody stood at the stove in another one of Jerrico’s shirts. It was an old cut off shirt from college that he only wore to the gym, but it looked like a million-dollar dress on her. He’d bought it for himself, but she’d grabbed it and covered herself with it before he had a chance to finish dressing. Since it looked damn good on her, he had not one complaint. Her bronze legs sat out slightly apart, showcasing the soft weight around her thighs and the widening of her hips.
Gone was the blue hair, and back was the big ball of black hair that she’d grown on her own. She was barefoot and stirring the steaming pot in front of her. The aroma of the neck bones and potatoes had Jerrico’s stomach growling louder. He was at her table with his laptop going over the monthly budget and inventory for his restaurants.
They’d been chilling at her house for the past two hours doing their own things. After they showered, they’d gotten to their individual tasks. Goody had come right from the shower cleaning and preparing the meal she insisted on making for him.
“I hope you like it,” she said with her back still turned.
“I’m sure I’ll love it.”
“I don’t know. As a chef, I’m sure everybody else’s food is nasty to you, or at least mediocre.”
Jerrico looked up from the spreadsheet in front of him and smirked.
“Maybe everybody else’s but not yours.”
“You don’t have to lie to me. I know how it is. I listen to some entertainers, and all I can do is shake my head to keep from criticizing them. It’s hard when you know your own talents, even if you do like the person.” She smiled over her shoulder.
“Is that so?”
Goody nodded and bent over to remove her cornbread from the stove.
“So, you mean to tell me that even if you are the best, there’s no room to like others?”
“I didn’t say that. I said it’s hard not to criticize them because you’re accustomed to doing things your way. Don’t act like you don’t know what I’m saying.”
Jerrico knew what she was saying because he’d done the same thing a time or two. Since he cooked so well, it was hard to try other people’s food and actually enjoy it. There had been times when he’d been disgusted with a meal, just like there had been times when he could have taken a few pointers from the chef. He just felt like being difficult to stir her up. His next move was sure to do just that.
“Drifting on a memory, ain’t no place I’d rather be, than with you. Loving you.” Jerrico stood from the table and danced around the kitchen while snapping on beat with his singing. “I want to be living, for the love of you. All that I’m giving is for the love of you.”
Goody spun around rapidly with her mouth hanging wide open and eyes big. Jerrico smiled at her while switching his song choice from the Isley Brothers to Trey Songz version of “It Would Be You.”
“If I could have anything, I put that on everything, that it would be you.”
“Baby, oh my gah!” she squealed, completely interrupting him.
Jerrico grabbed Goody for a quick kiss before backing away from her. “Told you, talent is talent. It’s just different from one person to the next. I can sing, you can rap. All music, but different.”
“You sound amazing! Why don’t you sing?”
“Because I like to cook.”
Goody stood there still shocked from his voice, as most people were whenever he’d sing. “I can’t believe you can sing like that.”
“Believe it while you finish that food. I’m hungry.”
Goody went back to her food, and he went back to his work. Not even a whole minute later, she turned back around.
“I have this song in my head. You should sing on it.”
Jerrico gave her a weird look before it switched to a smile. “No, Marcellus Junior.”
Goody snickered. “He must want you to sing for somebody?”
“All the time.”
“Do you ever do it?”
“Have you ever seen me?” Jerrico chuckled. “I like what I do. I don’t want to sing for nobody.”
“Not even me?” Goody poked her lip out.
Jerrico shook his head.
“Ah, you suck. You haven’t even heard the song yet, and you’re already saying no.”
“Why would I sing a hook to a song that you’re probably cussing me out on?”
Goody raised her eyebrows and turned away from him while suppressing a smirk. Jerrico didn’t go back to his work right away because he knew she wasn’t done yet. She was too passionate about music for her to let it go that fast.
“I’m not cussing men out in this one. It’s actually kind of sweet. I wrote it umm…” She paused and looked at him bashfully. “I wrote it the other night after my show.”
“The night you kept crying?” Jerrico joked on her.
She rolled her eyes to the sky with a smile on her face. “Yes, that night.”
“Oh, I have to hear this.”
“Only if you sing on it. It’s sweet, and I think you would make it better.” She turned the stove off and grabbed plates from his cabinet. “It’s about you. It would be perfect. We can practice tonight.”
Jerrico sat back in his seat, actually contemplating her proposition at least while they were at her house. It could be fun; it didn’t have to be anything serious. He shook his head and tried his best to wipe the smile from his face. Goody was already making him do things he didn’t do.
“Jerricoooo.”
“Paradiseeeee.”
She was cheesing when she turned around. “You’re really going to make me beg?”
“You wrote the hook already too?”
Goody nodded adamantly and took off from the kitchen. Jerrico got up and moved her pot of food from the stove. She rushed back in with a piece of paper as he was headed back to his seat.
“Let me see it.”
Goody hurried to stick the paper behind her back. “Tell me you’ll sing on it first.”
“I have to see if I like the lyrics first.”
“Come on now, this me you’re talking to. Slim Goody, I’m a beast. Don’t try me.”
“I’ll be the judge of that. Let me see the words.”
Goody was about to take off running, but Jerrico grabbed her up and snatched the paper out of her hand. She was laughing so hard that she couldn’t even keep up a good fight. Jerrico’s eyes surveyed the words on the paper before looking up at her with a smile on his face.
“Rap your part, and I’ll pick it up.” He extended the paper toward her.
“You keep it, I know my part,” she told him before standing in front of him and rapping.
Jerrico loved the mode she got into when it came to her music. Her whole aura was different, and it inspired him. From the serious look on her face to the way she moved her hand and body with each punchline. It was sexy as hell for real and
made his dick hard every time he heard her. Right then was much worse due to the fact that he was in the comfort of her home, and she was barely dressed.
Enchanted by her so deeply, he almost missed when she pointed her finger at him to sing his part. Jerrico hurried to look at the paper and picked the hook up. He literally had to grab himself and hold it when she swooned and began fanning herself as he sang her words. When her eyes watered at the beautifully written words, Jerrico grabbed her with the hand he’d been holding the paper with and pulled her to him.
He kissed her mouth as soon as he finished. “This is why I can’t do this with you.”
She was all smiles as she wrapped him up in her small arms. “No, that’s exactly why you need to do it with me. They’ll really feel us because you sound so perfect.”
“And you look perfect.” He dragged his nose along her face and inhaled. “We’d have to record this at home or in the studio with just Money Mars because I want to fuck you so bad right now.”
Goody licked his chin. “You can in a minute, but you have to wait right now.” She smiled and kissed him passionately. “So, does this mean you’ll do it with me?”
“Under one condition.”
Goody sighed dramatically. “There’s always a condition with you.”
Jerrico chuckled. “So? But, listen, you can’t list my name. I don’t want any credit, any publicity, no nothing.”
“That’s cool. I’ll just put Slim Goody featuring Bae.”
They laughed together before he released her to fix their food. Jerrico busied himself removing his computer and paperwork so they could eat without messing his things up. When she was done setting the table, they sat and ate together with him praising her food the entire time. By the time they’d gotten full, it was dark outside, and neither of them felt like playing any games. Jerrico especially. He wanted to lay up and get some rest. He had work the following day and needed to be ready.
They’d been peacefully sleeping when loud knocking on her door woke him up. Jerrico was a light sleeper, so after the first knock, he’d been awake. He didn’t move right away because for one it wasn’t his house and because he’d thought the person would have stopped by then. When they didn’t, he sat up and looked around the room, trying to get himself together. When he noticed she was still sleeping, he shook her lightly.
