  “Paradise.”

She stirred but didn’t open her eyes.

“Paradise, someone is at your door, baby.”

“Let them knock. I’m sleeping, shit. They don’t have no business coming over here this late anyway.”

  “It keeps waking me up.”

“Go answer it then.” She pulled the covers further over her head. “It probably ain’t nobody but my brother’s tacky ass anyway.”

Jerrico slid out of bed and walked to her door. As soon as he opened it, he came face to face with a tall, light skinned nigga who he’d never seen before. He didn’t necessarily remember what her brother looked like, so he stepped to the side to let him in. The nigga mugged him the whole time.

“Who the fuck are you?” he grumbled with a frown.

Jerrico gave him the same energy. “I should be asking you that.”

“Paradise,” the man called her name firmly. She didn’t answer. “Paradise?” he yelled again.

“What, Messiah, dang?” She groaned while walking into the living room, rubbing her eyes. She stopped in her tracks and frowned. “Nigga, what the fuck you doing at my house?”

“What’s this nigga doing at your fucking house?”

“This your brother, Paradise?” Jerrico needed to clarify before he got some shit started.

He didn’t make it a habit to go around fighting, but he didn’t do disrespect either.

“Nah, nigga. I’m her fucking husband.”

The fuck? Jerrico looked at Goody who was obviously not feeling Kayson’s presence in the least.

Goody’s movement stilled before she cracked her eyes open. “Fool, you ain’t my damn husband,” Goody snapped. “Get the fuck out my house. What you even doing over here in the first place?”

“This the nigga you’re all over the internet with?” Kayson yelled.

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“There are pictures of you and this black ass nigga all over the fucking blogs and shit! That nigga know you got a husband?”

“You are not my husband, Kayson!”

Kayson was furious. “You really ain’t told this nigga?”

Jerrico looked at Goody. “Told me what?”

“That she’s still my fucking wife!”

Jerrico looked at Goody, but all she did was drop her head and cover her face.
