Raunchy Roommate

"Hi baby girl," I slurred, my hands finding their way to her waist to steady myself. "Let's dance!"

She chuckled at my enthusiasm, her gorgeous smile appearing on her face as she kissed my cheek. "How much have you had to drink, Stu?"

I shrugged, leaning on her a little as I started to sway to the beat of the music. "I don't know. A lot," I answered with a giggle, moving my head down to nuzzle my face against hers.

"Are you feeling okay? I think maybe you should lie down. You don't look so good," Ann told me in a serious tone.

I shook my head back and forth many times. "No, no, I want to dance with my baby girl I don't wanna lie down in some poofy, goofy, loofy bed."

I began to shake my hips and spin in circles, even though my body felt very heavy and like my head was going to tip over since I was so dizzy. I couldn't stop laughing though.

Annabel gripped onto me tightly, her green eyes filled with concern. She turned towards Grace who was still dancing with Jordan and a few other people. "Grace, can you please go get Stuart some water? He's had way too much to drink."

Grace nodded, scurrying off to get me some water without question. "No, baby, I'm fine. Really. I'm fine."

Her palm cupped around my face. "No you're not. Come on, we're going to get you some water and then we're going to go home, okay?"

"I don't want to leave the party, baby! Stop being a party pooper!" I whined loudly, my lips curling over into a pout. My vision was getting clouded and I could barely see her clearly anymore, but I knew she was upset with me.

"Stuart, this is so dangerous, okay? You can't drink this much. Your liver can only work so fast. You need to be more careful," She lectured, her lovely voice soothing my ears.

Just as I was about to assure her that I was fine, my stomach tightened and I could feel a surge of puke racing up my throat. Annabel screamed, obviously recognizing what was about to happen, and she rushed me over towards the lone trash can near the food table. I put my head inside of it, and immediately began to barf, leaving behind a disgusting array of colors and making me want to cry from the revolting taste in my mouth and horrid feeling in my body.

Her palm rubbed circles against my back as I stood up, aware of everyone's attention being turned towards me. Grace returned with the glass of water, sticking her one arm out to give it to me as her other hand plugged her nose.

I drank the water, and spit some of it out into the trash can to try and diminish the taste. Annabel smiled at me sympathetically. "You're okay, Stu. You needed to throw all that crap up. Come on, baby, let's get you home."

Benjamin and Bradley sprinted over towards me with napkins, which meant they had left their game of pong to help. "Dude, that was so gross," Benjamin claimed, laughing lightly as the attention on me started to wear off. "I didn't know you were such a lightweight, buddy!"

"Benjamin," Annabel warned, sending him a look that conveyed that now was not the time to be teasing me. She picked up one of the napkins they brought over and dabbed it over my mouth, absorbing the excess vomit. "Do you feel like you're going to throw up again, Stuart?"

"No," I answered with a sigh. I felt like utter crap. My body was sore and my head was pounding and I didn't feel the rush of the alcohol anymore. "We can stay, I'm okay."

Annabel shook her head instantly. "No, you need to rest. You guys can celebrate the big win another night, okay? Come on, I'll call us a cab."

"No, Ann, take my keys and drive him home," Bradley insisted, reaching into his back pocket to hand over the keys to his car. "Grace was going to drive us back but we'll wait for a cab. You need to get him home right away."

"Thank you," Annabel replied gratefully, pulling my band mate in for a hug, along with hugging Benjamin quickly as well. "We'll see you guys later."

"Feel better, bud," Benjamin told me sadly, patting my back gently as Bradley waved goodbye to me.

"Come here, cutie," Annabel said as soon as they walked away, and I immediately collapsed into her arms, letting her hold me tightly as if it was the only cure for this awful feeling of embarrassment and pain and the remaining emotion of heartache.

She slung my arm over her shoulder to aid me in walking out of the house and towards Bradley's car that was parked in front of it. Annabel helped me get into the passenger seat and I pushed my head back so it was pressed all the way against the leather headrest, while curling my knees up to my chest and clutching onto them.

Tears started to form in my eyes as I took sharp inhales of breath. Annabel frowned, extending her hand out to grab my own. "Don't cry, Stu. You're okay. We'll be home soon."

"I feel awful. Everything hurts," I complained, closing my eyes tightly and blocking out the dim light coming from the moon.

She backed out of the driveway. "I know, baby. But I'm going to take care of you. I'll always take care of you, Stuart."

I sighed. "I love you so much."

"I love you more," She insisted as she removed her hand that was intertwined with mine to grip onto the steering wheel.

She might think she loves me more, but she was so, so, so wrong.

  Chapter 40

  Annabel

"Are you feeling better?" I asked Stuart as I stepped into the kitchen, where he was currently standing as he munched away on a bagel. I was quite groggy from not getting much sleep last night, whereas Stuart seemed to be perfectly awake.

He nodded his head, spreading his arms out wide to motion me to come in for a hug. I did without any hesitation, collapsing right against his chest as his toned arms held me tightly against his body. Stuart pressed a kiss on the top of my head. "I'm feeling much better. And it's all thanks to my wonderful girlfriend for taking care of me."

I tilted my head upwards to press a kiss to his lips, loving the way they molded together with such ease that it had become such a natural movement for us now. "I love you," I blurted out, just simply because staring up into his brown eyes while he had a little smile curved onto his face just made my feelings for him so clear.

"And I love you," Stuart responded, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear and letting his thumb drag along my cheekbones. "But we need to get going. I planned us a road trip. It will take us around like two hours to get there so we better get moving."

I furred my eyebrows together in confusion. "What? Where are we going?"

"You'll see," Stuart stated, winking at me. "Go get dressed. I already packed us a bag because I figured we would want to stay in a hotel tonight."

"I mean, if you insist," I said playfully, hopping off towards the bedroom to get changed into something comfortable yet still presentable.

It didn't take me very long to get ready, mainly because I was anxious to find out where we were headed. I found it so adorable that Stuart actually planned something for us to do together. Even if he was taking us to the most boring location ever, I was certain that it would not be boring because the two of us always have fun around one another.

I slid into the passenger seat of his car and Stuart turned on the radio before his hands gripped onto the steering wheel. I let out a little squeal of excitement.

"Can you at least give me a hint?" I whined, letting out a yawn that I wasn't even aware I was holding.

He smiled at me innocently, reaching out to intertwine our fingers together as his car drove down the street to leave our gated community. He lifted our laced hands up to his lips, pressing a kiss against the back of mine. "No. It's a surprise. Why don't you go to sleep for a bit and when you wake up we'll be there?"

I shook my head. "But I want to talk to you. I don't want you to just drive in silence."

"There's music playing. It's not silent," Stuart argued playfully, his grin never diminishing off of his sculpted face. "Come on, Ann. You took care of me when I was puking last night. Now it's my turn to make sure my girl has a relaxing and fun day."

"Fine," I agreed, reclining back the leather seat so I could find a more comfortable position to lay in. I was still very tired, even though I
was quite excited, and maybe a light nap would be good for me.

My eyelids fell closed after a few moments, letting my ears zero in on the sweet sound of Stuart's raspy voice sing along quietly to the radio.

"Here we are," Stuart cheered, as our car pulled into the parking lot of the San Diego Zoo. I should have known he would take us here. He's such an animal lover and it's the cutest thing.

"Aw, Stu. You are literally the most adorable person ever," I complimented, getting out of the vehicle so I could join him in walking hand in hand into the zoo.

It wasn't very crowded today, but that still didn't stop me from sprinting towards the ticket booth, tugging Stuart along with me, so we could get started on our day. He paid for the two of us like a total gentleman and I picked up a copy of the zoo map so we wouldn't get lost.

"Can we go see the tigers first?" I pleaded. I've always been a fan of the tigers and their vivid orange fur with the detailed layers of stripes covering the tops of it in various patterns.

"Sure, baby," Stuart obliged, kissing my forehead as we followed the directions to the first exhibit.

The crowd of people who were looking at the tigers disappeared after a few moments, letting Stuart and I get a front row seat at viewing them. Stuart gasped instantly when he caught sight of the massive tiger and he dashed towards the glass to get a closer look at it. His palms pressed against the bulletproof glass and the sunlight reflected against it, making his beaming smile seem to glow even more.

"Oh my God! It's coming over towards me! He must like me," Stuart cooed in an adorable fashion, letting out a little giggle as the tiger approached us and placed his face near the window we were peering through.

"Or he wants to eat you," I remarked, making him shoot a glare in my direction. I crouched down to get a better look at the magnificent animal, a smile managing to creep onto my own face. "Hi big guy."

"Ann, stop talking to my penis we're in a public place!" Stuart hissed, pretending to keep up his serious façade to scold me, but ended up just bursting into a fit of a laughter at his own joke.

"You're an idiot," I told him, waving goodbye to our tiger friend as I pulled him along the paved road towards the next exhibit.

Stuart slung his arm around my shoulder, as if it was the most comfortable resting position for him. "Do you want to go see the birds?" He suggested, motioning to the little building that we were standing next to.

I nodded, opening the door to it and stepping inside the much warmer building that had this peculiar odor to it. The chirping noises of different birds all pierced my eardrums as the contrasting sounds made a loud symphony that was horribly out of tune.

They were selling food for a dollar, so I rummaged in my pocket to buy it for the both of us. The worker placed a plastic cup in each of our hands and it was full of some special food that the birds must like to eat.

Within an instant, the colorful little birds flocked towards us. Two of them landed on my hand, one of them clutching onto my wrist with their feet. I jumped slightly by the sudden contact but then replaced the unfamiliarity with a giggle as their bright feathers tickled against my skin. "Anna! Look!" Stuart called, breaking my attention away from the birds that had landed on me to glance over at my boyfriend. He had two birds on his own hand, as well as two on his shoulders, and one that was resting on the top of his hat. He chuckled loudly. "I guess everyone is attracted to me."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Yeah, okay," I muttered sarcastically, which only made him grin even bigger.

"You jealous, baby?" Stuart teased, making me snort at the fact that he was using birds as a way to provoke envy. "I bet these birds are all female. The ladies just love me and my ruggedly handsome body."

"Most of these birds are actually males," An employee spoke up, interrupting his joking.

I bit on my lip to stop from cracking up, while Stuart's face grew red with embarrassment and he fumbled to find any words to say. "Oh, um, thanks for the info," He tried to say politely, but it ended up just spewing out of his mouth in a flustered fashion.

"I think we should go to the next exhibit," I told him, throwing the empty cup away and practically dragging Stuart away from the scene.

By the time we got to the giraffes, his chubby cheeks were still bright red. I pinched them gently, trying to distract him from his faux-pas. "Look how cute the giraffes are," I said while tugging on the sleeve of his shirt, begging for him to pay attention to the long-necked animals.

I leaned onto the railing, trying to get one of the giraffes to gallop over towards us as I waved to it in a friendly manner. Stuart laughed at me, standing directly behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist. "Look how cute you are," He mocked.

I could feel the heat radiating off of his body as he placed more pressure against my back, snuggling his head onto my shoulder so he could see the giraffes as well. "Giraffes are cuter though. Except I hear that before they mate the female like pees in the males mouth to check if she's fertile or something like that."

Stuart began to crack up. "We should try that sometime, baby."

I pushed him off of me, pretending to gag as I made a sound of complete disgust. "You're so gross; do not talk to me ever again."

"You're the one who brought it up!" Stuart protested, still giggling as if this was the funniest thing he had ever heard. His fingers laced together with mine again and he led us towards the monkeys.

"Okay, well still," I mumbled, trying not to smile, but I couldn't stop myself since I was having so much fun today. "We would have to be trying to have a baby to do that anyways."

Stuart gulped, his face hardening into a stern expression. He let out a loud sigh. "Someday I'm going to get you pregnant. And you're going to have a perfectly round belly that I will kiss all the time and then a beautiful baby that we made together is going to crawl out of your lovely vagina and it's going to be the best kid to ever exist. But that won't be for a long time and I don't want to think about it now."

"It seems like you've done a lot of thinking about it before," I pointed out, feeling my face flush. I couldn't help but feel butterflies flutter throughout my stomach just from hearing Stuart utter those sweet words about our future that I truly hoped would come true.

Stuart shrugged as we continued along the road, passing by gift shops and big families and charming ice cream stands that were selling it at an overpriced rate. "Well I don't know. Anytime I picture my future I see you in it. So I just always think about you and I having a family together someday. But like not for a really long time, okay? I'd make a terrible father right now."

"No you wouldn't," I disagreed, swinging our hands together as we finally made it to the monkey exhibit. I did agree with him on the fact that we shouldn't start a family for a long time, especially since we are in the peak of our careers and are enjoying a care-free young adult life at the moment.

He opened his mouth to protest, but we were interrupted by a little boy crying his eyes out. We scanned the area to find someone who was with this child, but the three of us were the only ones at the entrance to the monkey habitat.

Stuart bent down so he was at eye level with the kid, his skinny jeans tightening around his legs with the action. "Hey buddy. What's wrong?"

I crouched down beside the two of them. "I can't find my mom," The boy wailed, lifting his tiny little palms up to his eyes to dry up the tears and also as a method of ignoring eye contact with us.

"We can help you find her, alright bud?" I offered. I truly felt awful that he was abandoned here.

"Mommy said not to talk to strangers," The boy insisted, making me laugh lightly at how well behaved he was.

"I promise we'll take you to Mommy, okay?" Stuart said in a patient and caring tone, his brown irises locked on the distraught child in front of him.

It made my heart clench because it portrayed how he was such a kindhearted individual and it was one of the main reasons I had fallen in love with him. I couldn't believe he was just telling me how he thought h
e would make a bad father almost seconds ago, and ironically, here he was proving that all of his theories were incorrect.

Stuart scooped up the small boy into his arms, shifting him onto his hip as the child rested his head on Stuart's bony shoulder. "Where should we go? Like find security?"

"That's what I was thinking," I replied, as the two of us scrambled to find any type of police or security that could help us locate his mother. "Check over there."

The boy was still crying and from the corner of my eye I spotted Stuart rub his palm against his back in a soothing motion. If we weren't in the middle of running around I would have taken my phone out and took a candid picture of him, just like how I caught Stuart take one of me earlier today, but I pretended not to notice.

There was this little pavilion where some police officers were standing that we shuffled towards. A very uneasy looking woman whipped her head around as soon as she heard the commotion and her eyes went wide. "Johnny! I found you!"

"Mommy!" The boy, who must be named Johnny, called out, wiggling his arms towards his mother to clutch onto her body and escape Stuart's grasp.

"Thank you so much," The mother told us gratefully. Stuart let out a sigh of relief, turning to face me with a bright smile on his face.

"We did it," He declared proudly, leaning his head down to press our foreheads together, his lips only centimeters away from mine.

I grinned mischievously. "Yes we did, daddy."

  Chapter 41

  Annabel

By the time we had gotten to the hotel, my feet were absolutely killing me. We had been walking the entire day so we could see every animal possible, and when you mix a lot of walking with lack of sleep, it was a combination as bad as orange juice and brushed teeth.

The hotel room was much more cozy and inviting as opposed to the ones I usually stayed in. The walls were painted beige and the carpet was a rich, navy blue that felt very soft underneath my feet. One king sized bed sat in the middle of the room, topped with a fluffy duvet comforter and various pillows that I felt compelled to dive into like a child.
