“I’m guessing this means you’re okay with this?”

Ray growled and kissed the back of her neck. His fingers slid into the cleft of her buttocks.

  * * * *

She felt his tongue slide down her crack and tease her hole. “I want to fuck this tight ass, love. I want to be the dominant member of this family.” His fingers brushed lightly over the delicate sphincter, causing her to gasp and the muscles of her pussy clench.

“Be gentle, Ray,” she begged. “I’ve never done this with anyone.”

Her admission made his chest swell with pride. This would be his and his alone. “I’ll be as gentle as I can, love.” He ran a finger around the tight, puckered opening. “Get on your hands and knees, darlin’.”

Rennia followed his directions. “You’ll find some lube in the drawer beside the bed. I use it with some toys I have.”

Ray grinned, and leaned over to search in the drawer. “We’ll talk about your toys later.” Opening the tube, he squeezed some lube over several fingers and spread it around her opening. “Relax your bottom, baby.” When she took a deep breath, he eased his finger inside her, penetrating the tight muscle of her ass. She tensed as he spread the lubricant around, stretching her, preparing her. A minute later he slid a second finger inside her, scissoring them to start opening her up. The pressure felt strange.

“I’m putting in a third finger now. Let me know if it’s hurting you.”

She tensed as another finger breached her opening. “It feels tight, but not painful.”

“Then I think you’re ready for me.” His hands tightened on her buttocks, urging her to raise her hips. She looked over her shoulder and saw him wrap his hand around his cock and press it against her opening. Closing her eyes, she felt the head of his cock press into her anus. Sweat beaded on her forehead as he worked his erection into her ass.

“God, I feel so full.” She groaned. A burning feeling gripped her as he slowly forced the length of his shaft into her body. It hurt and it felt good at the same time. Her wolf rumbled softly, clearly happy that its mate was taking charge. Shivers of delight danced up and down her spine.

“I’m not gonna last, love.” Ray reached around her body and pinched her clit between his thumb and forefinger and tugged on it. That was all it took. Her body seized, and she screamed just as she felt his seed shoot within her. Her head fell back, exposing her throat. A moment later she was shocked to feel her mate’s teeth closing on the tender flesh of her shoulder. She yelped, and then spiraled into another release, not quite as strong as the first, but equally fulfilling.

Rennia breathed in Ray’s scent as he collapsed against her back. It was a full minute before he lifted his head and looked at her with dazed, misty eyes. “Are you all right?”

Ray shook his head. “I don’t know.” He slowly pulled from her body and got up from the bed. “I’ll be right back.”

She watched him go to the bathroom and heard the water running. She felt her shoulder and was surprised to find he’d broken the skin. There as a small amount of blood.

Ray came back with a cloth in his hand. He sat down on the bed and laid the wet rag on her shoulder. “I’m so sorry, Rennia. I don’t know what came over me. It was like I couldn’t stop myself.” He blinked rapidly. “I swore I’d never hurt you, and then I go and do this.”

Rennia turned over and put her arms around him. “You have nothing to apologize for. I wish you could see my animals right now. The wolf is strutting around like she owns the world. You’ve made them both very happy. They feel like you’ve left your mark on us to show everyone that we belong to you.” She glanced at her shoulder. “Tehran has a cream I can use on the bite, and it will leave a permanent scar for everyone to see, just like the scar you’ll have where I bit you. You’ll have marked your mate in the ways of my people.”

“And it doesn’t bother you that I bit you and made you bleed?”

“It’s kind of sexy, if you want to know the truth.”

Ray shook his head and pushed her down on the bed. He used the cloth to clean between her legs and then crawled in beside her, pulling her close to his body. “Maybe we should start planning our own wedding.” He leaned up on one elbow. “Even better, we could have a double ceremony with Kati.”

Rennia laughed. “I can hear the pastor now. Do you take this cat as your lawfully wedded wife?”

Ray laughed and kissed her slowly. He pulled her even closer. “I would say I will,” he whispered.

Rennia searched his eyes and then smiled. “Let’s get some sleep and talk about this tomorrow.” She closed her eyes and listened to the sound of her mate’s breathing. Is he really ready to accept everything about me?

  Chapter 17

Remus paced back and forth in the narrow visitation room. Zander sat at the small metal table in one of their folding chairs. He looked up. “Would you relax and sit down. You’re making me crazy.”

Remus snorted. “This is the right place for you then. All the men incarcerated here are bat shit crazy in one form or other.” They were waiting for the guards to bring Dr. Vincent Kaugh up from his cell. For one reason or another he’d spent a good portion of the last twenty-five years in solitary confinement. Even at his advance age he was still considered one of their most dangerous inmates. He looked up when the sound of footsteps echoed down the hall. In less than a minute they were leading the frail old man into the room and handcuffing him to the table.

Dr. Kaugh looked up at Remus and grinned. “Well, if it isn’t Alpha Remus. To what do I owe the honor of your visit?” He glanced at Zander. I know who you are, but you have no business with me. You can leave.” He turned back to Remus. “It’s a pleasant surprise to see you. I’ve been expecting you, of course, you’re ahead of schedule.”

“Why would you be expecting Remus?” asked Zander.

“I knew he’d be here as soon as he’d met my boy.”

“So, you have a son. Who’s his mother?”

Kaugh shrugged. “Irrelevant. He’s a chip off the old block. I think you’ll find he takes after me with the same goals, driven with the same ambition. I look forward to seeing how he beats you, Alpha. I have no doubt he’ll succeed where I failed.”

“I won’t have my family terrorized again. I’ll take him out the same way I took you down.”

Kaugh laughed and stood up. Both guards took him by the arm. The doctor smiled. “Let the games begin.”

Ray watched Latan and Ethan pace back and forth in the little dressing room off the main chapel.

“Where the devil are they?” asked Latan.

A knock at the door had both men rushing to open it. Kitania and Rennia walked in. Rennia was a vision in her dress. She’d chosen a cream silk chiffon shirtwaist dress that had a pleated bodice and a softly gathered long skirt. It made her look so dainty and feminine.

“We have a problem,” said Kitania.

Latan snorted. “Yeah, the boys are missing.”

Rennia let out a very unladylike snort of her own. “They aren’t the only ones.”

Ethan frowned. “Who else is missing?”

Kitania held up a sheet of paper and fanned it back and forth. “Our children have eloped.”

Ray felt his mouth drop open. “What? Why would they do that on the day of their wedding? That makes no sense.”

Kitania shrugged. “Last night Kati found out that somehow her dress had been ruined by the dry cleaners. After the invitation date being changed, the cake being wrong, and the flowers were going to be late, she had all she could take. She says it was all an omen that they shouldn’t have a ceremony here. They discussed it, and Kati is going to legally marry Synia because it will give her the Wind River name. Then, they plan on having a private joining ceremony between the three of them.”

“What the hell are we supposed to do now?” asked Ethan. “We have a church full of people, a minister who keeps checking his watch, and a restaurant with enough food to feed an army.”<

Ray moved forward and took Rennia’s hands. “I’ll tell you what we’ll do. We’re gonna have a wedding.”

Latan frowned. “What are you talking about?”

Kitania laughed. “Come on, mate. You’re not that dense. He’s proposing.”

“It won’t be legal,” said Ethan. “They don’t have a license.”

“We can do the legal bit next week.” Ray sank down on one knee and looked up into his mate’s eyes. “Rennia Wind River, I love you more than I ever thought possible. In a very short time you’ve become my whole world, and I can’t imagine my life without you in it. I want us to live together and see where life takes us. Will you do me the very great honor of becoming my wife in front of your friends and our families?”

Rennia smiled and sank to her knees. She threw her arms around Ray’s neck. “Will you take this cat and wolf and all that entails for the rest of your life?”

Ray leaned back to look into her eyes. “I will.”

She grinned. “I will, too.” She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. It only took a second for him to take over the kiss and plunge his tongue deep into her mouth, almost like he was trying to absorb her essence.

“Then let’s get this show on the road,” said Latan. “I’ll let the minister know about the change in names. He’s in a hurry because he has another wedding later this evening.”

Ray got to his feet and pulled Rennia up. “Let’s go get married.” She smiled and nodded and let him lead her toward the door.

“You think this family is ever gonna have a relationship that’s normal?” asked Latan.

Kitania took him by the arm. “Where’s the fun in that?”

  * * * *

Rennia shivered as she slid her hand along Ray’s calloused palm and linked her fingers with his. She smiled and then glanced at the preacher waiting to hear their vows.

The clergyman cleared his throat. “Do you, Raymond Mathews, take Rennia Wind River to be your lawfully wedded wife? To have and to hold from this day forward, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others as long as you both shall live?”

Ray stared intently into Rennia’s eyes and then brought her hand up to place a kiss against her knuckles. “I will.”

“Do you, Rennia Wind River, take Raymond Mathews to be your lawfully wedded husband? To have and to hold from this day forward, in sickness and in health, forsaking all others as long as you both shall live?”

Rennia felt a peace settle over her as both her beasts lay down side by side. “I will.”

“Then, by the authority invested in me by the state of Wyoming, I now pronounce you man and wife.” He smiled at Ray. “You may now kiss your bride.”

Ray moved closer, pulling Rennia until her breasts rested against his chest. He studied her face for a moment and then bent to whisper in her ear. “I also take your cat and your wolf until death do us part.” His lips closed over hers, his teeth nipping lightly, before his tongue swept through her mouth.

“Family and friends,” said the preacher. “I give you Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Mathews.”

Ray drew back and grinned when everyone cheered. He hugged Rennia close and then turned her toward the door. “Let’s take this party to Wyoming Wildlife’s Bar. We’ve got some celebrating to do!”

  Epilogue

Nathaniel studied Rennia’s DNA chart and cursed. “I’m going to get you back, little lady. Your chemistry is like nothing I’ve ever seen. I’ve got to get some of your eggs to add to my work.” He looked up when his enforcer knocked on the door. “What is it, Quentin?”

“The Marler kid never showed for his blood work. No one answered at the numbers we have for his guardians.”

“Did you send someone to check it out? We pay them too much money to screw up our schedule. Those tests and specimens have to be in on time, or the experiment is in danger of having to be started over.”

“I’m going to check it out myself. I just wanted to let you know why I’m leaving.”

“Let me know what’s going on ASAP. We need him in for the blood work and his injections within the next seventy-two hours or it won’t be any good. We’ll have to start that section of the work over.”

Quentin nodded. “I’ll let you know as soon as I find out what’s going on.”

Nathaniel watched him leave and then turned on his desk monitor to watch his favorite prisoner. “We’re too close to let things slide now.” He ran his finger across the screen, caressing the woman’s teary cheek. “They’re never going to know what hit them.”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born, and raised in the great southern state of Tennessee. In my youth, I studied nursing, and spent several happy years working in the hospitals there until I branched out into medical management in 1980.

In 1998 I was managing a medical supply house in Chattanooga, when I met the love of my life. The only problem facing me then, he lived way out in Oklahoma. You see, we had met in a chat room!

He romanced me daily with love letters, flowers and phone calls. It wasn’t long before I uprooted myself, and moved west to join him. We married in 1999, and then continued our fantasy romance all over the world. Together we have traveled in almost all of the Continental United States, and taken trips to Canada and China.

I retired from working in 2002 and it wasn’t long before my husband was encouraging me to find some kind of outlet to occupy my time, something that was challenging, and rewarding. I was already obsessed with reading about romance, and I began to think I could probably write a good, romantic story. My husband heartily agreed with me. With that encouragement, I began writing my first book. I wasn’t really convinced that anyone else would find it interesting, but he pressed me to take a chance and send it in to a publisher. To my surprise, it was accepted, and now I’m able to share it with readers everywhere who like a “happily ever after” story.

Today, I’m living in California with my, still romantic, husband of twelve years, and baby boy. Our boy’s name is Bubba, and he allows us to live with him and serve him at his leisure. He’s an eight year old part Bengal cat. I continue to write almost daily, hoping that someone somewhere will get the same enjoyment from reading my stories that I get from writing them.
