Bulletproof
Page 26
Sean shifted back to my side, taking my hand and leading me further into the fray. That was when we hit the paparazzi. The bulbs flashed so bright and fast, I wondered if I’d be able to see again.
“Sean! Over here!”
I dropped his hand and moved back, letting him take center stage, but he turned and pulled me to his side, wrapping his arm around me.
“Got to introduce my woman to the world.” He looked at me.
“But don’t they want photos of just you?”
“Maybe, but they’re gonna get photos of me and my goddess instead.”
I grinned.
“Smile, baby.” He kissed my cheek, claiming me in front of everyone.
Questions were fired our way: curious reporters wanting the goods on Sean Jaxon’s mystery date. He ignored the calls and kept grinning.
“That’s all I have to do? Smile?”
“Yep, it’s that easy.” He squeezed my waist. “Look as though you’re happy to be here, but think about the fact that later tonight I’m going to take all your clothes off.”
I snickered. “Oh really, and what are we gonna do after that?” My lips pulled tight, my smile turning plastic as I kept it in place for the cameras.
“Baby, we’re gonna do the Sean and Morgan dance.”
“Nice.” I chuckled. “I like the sound of that.”
He turned to me, gazing into my eyes as if the world around us didn’t exist. “The best dance in the world. It’s a lifelong one, did you know that?”
I drank him in, loving the seriousness of his expression. “Maybe it is,” I conceded.
“Oh baby, it definitely is.” He winked and then pressed his lips against mine.
The cameras started snapping like crazy, a frantic moment of light and sound, but I didn’t see any of it. As I touched Sean’s face, the flashing lights faded to nothing. Sean and I were wrapped in our own little bubble, untouchable and completely bulletproof.
