Ellipsis - Creators of Six #1

by Jacob White

“Weaver, there is still so much you don’t know. I almost became nothing saving those I loved.”

“Do not treat it as a sacrifice. You saved them so one day you could return and finish what you started. Even now you surround everyone with lies and deceit. You have to see it, Liam, if there is any good left in you.”

“True, I might be tainted, but who still has their children… hmm? Who was the only god to plead and weep in front of the Creators? I was the only one Weaver!” Power filled the room and once again my nose began to bleed. “Do you know what my blessing is, Weaver?”

  “No.”

“I can hold a soul from passing on. So, I had to watch my children simply fall when the creators came. Guess what? They all returned to me. This time around I will not see those empty eyes again, even if it means giving Gibi back his precious mate.”

  “Wait… what?”

“This is a surprise. Gibi doesn’t know, does he? Well, after our little party could you tell him for me? Tell him that his long dead partner has a blessing of the Dark one. Even now, I feel her soul wondering for her body. Too bad my loyal servants buried her next to me.”

“Liam… you can still stop this.”

“Save your breath. I was wronged, and I will have what's mine, a home for my children and a home for the rest of the god's’ children.”

“I won't let it happen. You have to know this.”

“I think you will, considering you turned down my more than generous offer.”

“I have seen your offer, and it is only filled with more death. I cannot accept this, Liam.”

“Well, you aren't going to like my next one so much. You can willingly give me the stone and I kill Anna. Or you get knocked out, I take you with me and I kill Les right in front of your eyes. Then Anna on my way out.”

My world ended. He knew I couldn’t make this choice. I tried to think of every possible ending to this, but I couldn’t find a way out.”

“Weaver… listen to me.” Tears streamed down Les’s face. “I love you so very much.” Liam placed a hand over her mouth.

“Let her fucking go, you coward!”

“Oh, so you choose Anna to die? Just hand over the stone and go back to your precious whorehouse. Or… would you like to hear more from Les?” He let her mouth go.

“Weaver…You know I love you, right?” I was crying uncontrollably now.

“Yes, my love, I know, I know. Please, Liam, what if I accept your other proposition?”

“Tempting but my patience has run out. You need to choose, or I will make a choice for you. Not giving anything away… but it will end up being both.”

“Please, Liam… Please… anything but this! Just take me, we can go, once I know they are safe I will give you what you want… please.”

“Weaver… you will do no such thing.” She smiled at me. “I will see you again.”

  “Okay, then. Both it is.”

“No!” I kept screaming to Les. She only looked at me with love. Her eyes closed with acceptance. I broke into thousands of pieces as if my soul was ripped from me. Blood streamed out of her throat as Liam slid the knife across. She slumped to the floor. The love now was gone. Her life now taken. She was stolen from me. Without thinking, I reached for Gibi’s power.

“How?” Was all he managed to say as magic hurled him out of the glass, sending shards across my face and table. I called forth spikes from the mountain. Aden’s body was still alive as he gripped the blood touched spike through his stomach. His breath left him as four more pierced his body.” I made one look towards Tisen and boiled him just as I did Edmund. I bent down to Les and caressed her face.

“I am so sorry. I did this to you.” I bent into her blood and kissed her temple. I walked passed Tisen’s convulsing corpse. I was going to destroy it all. They will know who they face. I will save Anna.

I ran out the door, instantly killing the three guards that kept watch as I ran down the stairs. Their bodies rolled down the stairs as I ran passed them. Finally, I made it to the lowest floor. I crushed the building that reached above me. I walked out no longer thinking. Blood lust had taken me over.

  “Weaver, don’t do this.”

“You have no say here Gibi.” I walked into the middle of the outpost and lifted my hands once again. Arrows just shriveled as they got close. I reached into that deep well of magic. People were running and screaming, then it stopped. I willed the liquid in their bodies to be ripped out. Within an instant, I had killed hundreds. Women, Children, and Fathers but it didn’t matter to me at this point. Everywhere I stepped, emptied husks laid at my feet. I kept destroying everything my eyes laid upon. Buildings with families still inside hiding from me. Barracks holding sleeping soldiers. Livestock, it didn’t matter. All I remember were the screams going silent as I took their lives from them. I realized at some point people stopped attacking me, now they just ran. I walked towards the entrance of the outpost. I saw hundreds of people running, limping, doing everything they could to run from me.

“You took her from me!” The mountain of ice came down upon them all. They died instantly under the hard rock. Exhaustion began to take me over, but my work wasn’t done yet. I refused to give in. I found the house we were placed in and found a scared, bloody Anna in the corner. Looking to the floor I saw two mutilated bodies.

“Come.” I said but she didn’t move. “Anna, now!” She just looked at me with fear. A look I remember all too well. I saw her shivering in that alley again as she avoided my gaze. I looked down and understood why. My anger seemed to dissipate as I saw that I was covered in blood, hair, and other substances I didn’t know. My tears began again.

“Weaver? Is it you?” All I could do was nod. I couldn’t breathe or think. There was just so much pain that even Gibi’s ring could not keep it out.

“They… Liam… took her… killed her…in front…” I was crying and screaming, the blood lust coming over me again until Anna wrapped her hands around my body.

“Weaver. Dear god’s I’m sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry.” She kept repeating it as I screamed into her body. I became so weak and tired I went limp in her arms.

“Anna, kill me… please. I killed everyone… children… just take the stone and go… leave me to die. I beg you.” She shook her head. “Anna, I want to die. Let me leave this place. Leave me with Les.” Her eyes were wet with tears and filled with pure love and sympathy. I still had one more chance.

“Gibi. Take me from this life. I beg you.”

  “Shhh, just sleep, Weaver.”

“No!” But my eyes grew heavier. “No…” My voice softened.

“Yes, my child. Sleep, and I will send her to you one last time before she is in the afterlife.” After Gibi’s words had come, I almost immediately gave into darkness hoping to see Les one last time.

I was still surrounded by so much darkness. “Les! I’m here! Please! Les!” I continued to scream until the light of Les broke the darkness. She walked to me dressed in a long gown of white as she placed her hands on both sides of my face.

  “Weaver, my love.”

“Les… I'm so sorry… I'm so sorry.” I sank to my knees, clutching her legs.

“Look at me.” She held my cheeks and tried forced me to look at her. I refused so she had to use her hands to force me. “Weaver… I love you so much. I know what pain you feel for my loss. Even now we are surrounded by it, you have to let it go.”

  “I can't… I did horrible things…”

“Then do not leave that choice as it is. Redeem yourself. Now more than ever, I know you are the only one who can defeat Liam. It must be you. Make those lives, my life, mean something. I will see you again. I know what waits for me, but I will be strong until I see you again.” She kissed me when she bent down. She pulled away to place our heads together. “You silly man… even though I am gone, I'm still with you. A part of me lives in that ring. Whenever you doubt my presence, just look at it and remember me. You can do this, you have to. Let m
e go, let it all go Weaver. You need love in your life to accomplish what you must do. Then when it is all finished, when you take your last breath as an old man, come back to me. I will have your bed warm, and I will be waiting in it for the rest of time, if you would have me.”

“I will always have you…” I stood and took her into another embrace and kissed her over and over. I was so scared to let go.

“Weaver, I'm sorry but you must go you’ve used too much magic. Promise me you will live, for me. Promise me, Weaver.”

  “I can’t. Don’t make me say that.”

“Promise me Weaver. As a final gift to me.”

“I promise… but I will see you again. I swear it.”

“I know.” She kissed me, and I felt her fade away through my fingers.

“Please, not yet!” She gave me one last smile as she faded between my fingertips. Then I was alone in my own darkness, but she was right. I couldn’t stay here. Liam will die by my hand, I didn’t care what it took. He will die, not sleep, not remain entombed, but wiped from existence.

  About: Jacob L. White

Jacob is currently 30 years old and resides in Bryan, Texas. He is married and has two noisy children. I started writing in 2005 but never really got past the first outline of a book. Over the years it had remained in the back of my mind of these worlds I wanted to create and share. Not all of you will like them. Some might love them but I hope for each group we can use it as a glance into another place.

Long after leaving the military, I was finally pushed by my wife and loss of sleep to write Ellipsis. It was an amazing experience. I sat in front of the computer and the first draft just flowed out of me. Then… I was able to sleep soundly again. Well, at least until book two needed to be written. I hope you all find my books enjoyable. Just as I had an amazing time writing them.
