  Cassandra

  "What?" I asked.

  "Uhh battle." he said hurriedly and continued, his armor shining due to the light of the glowing rocks around him. He tries to avoid looking at me. Could he have dreamed of something similar to my dream? It was a possibility. What was the nature of our dreams? Why were they were as they were? What was causing it?

  As we continue to descend, we happened upon different colored rocks than before. The white glow of the stones that we had found prior was beginning to bleed into a shade of purple. I furrowed my brow and realized that we had traveled into another pocket of the area, and that had caused the color change. There was a different chemical energy that the stones were feeding off of.

  "Let me take a sample." I said to him and walked up to the stone, grabbing a chunk of it and placing it on my scanner. I scanned the air around us after the hallucination prior to this but with gases this thing was always somewhat inaccurate.

  "What is it?" he asked me.

  "It's.....wow it's Tremetalate. No wonder." I remarked and he raised an eyebrow.

  "What? What's the difference?" he asked me.

  "Tremetalate, it's supposed to give you visions. That must be why we had these visions before and why these stones are glowing purple now, it's because the compound changed. Gradually you can get more and more used to it so the effect of the hallucinations wears off due to desensitization so.....we should be fine." I muttered, tossing the small sample of rock out of my scanner and gazing at him, he seemed a bit relieved.

  "Oh good, for a second there I thought...." he began and I raised an eyebrow.

  "Thought what?" I asked.

  "You think someone else is down here with us? I have an uneasy feeling that we're not the only intelligent life form down here. There could be something more." he says and I pondered the idea. The tree, that artificial structure, there had to be something down here, we knew that already.

  "Well yeah I thought that was clear from the moment we found that structure." I said and he shook his head.

  "Not only that......like someone or somethi
ng is watching us." he observed and I looked around, suddenly feeling a chill run down my spine.

  He did realize how this was making me feel shortly after, however.

  "I don't mean to.....shit. Just forget I said anything and let's continue. I promise you that I wouldn't let anything bad happen to you right?" he asked and I nodded.

  "Yeah I know, I know you wouldn't." I muttered, grinning.

  The purple light of the cavern continued on for quite some time. We travel deeper and deeper and happen upon more of those trees and ponds, they all seemed set up in a way that was...unnatural. As if someone had decided where to put them to maximize aesthetic beauty instead of anything else. I take samples of the rocks where I can, after a certain point I begin to detect a slightly different genetic code.

  "Here." I muttered and walked up to a rock covered in some organisms that glowed a shade of green, he watches as I take a sample and read out the genetic code.

  "This one is just a mutated version of all the moss we found on the surface. They all are and I can't detect any sort of radiation or mutagen around here meaning something or someone has been planting these here." I muttered.

  "We have to hurry and depart before whatever it is claims us." muttered Anthriel.

  "We should have stayed behind. We should have just waited. Now whatever is down here is going to come for-" I began but he gripped my shoulders and shook me.

  "I'm telling you i'm here. Remember my promise? We will make it out of here, we will." he states and I nod slowly, muttering to myself, before following him begrudgingly.

  I hoped he knew what he was doing.

  At the end of the day we find ourselves at a strange but rather welcoming spot of the entire cave. There were a variety of orange rocks around us, their energy derived from another compound, Urel, they all surrounded this shallow pool of water that had a small stream running into it that came out of a hole in the wall.
