Sinful (Restless Nights)

She gazed up at me, a question in those beautiful blue-gold eyes. “Why’d we stop?”
I brushed my fingers through her tousled hair, untangling the mussed locks from when I’d fisted the silky tresses for handholds. My hands cupped the nape of her neck and my thumbs brushed over her cheeks. “Your hair was a little wild, your lips are swollen, and you look flushed.”
She laughed. “So I’m a hot mess.”
It was a statement, but I shook my head. “No, you’re beautiful and perfect. Definitely hot, but not a mess.”
I kissed her one more time before we went into the bar. She slipped away to the bathroom while I ordered another round for us and the boys.
Cole studied me closely before shaking his head. “Did you two have a good talk?”
I smirked at him. “We did in fact.”
He chuckled. “Um-hmm, I’m sure that’s all you two did.”
My eyes narrowed but not with anger or irritation, but in a signal that Cole would get no details from me about anything that had happened. Avery was pleasure and what we did was for me and her and none of his fucking business.
Cole laughed again. “I won’t ask, and I know you won’t tell, so all I’ll say is good for you.”
I was riding a high that I had never come close to before her.
“I will assume she finally asked about Gemma?” Mark questioned. There was a quality to his tone that I couldn’t quite place. He wasn’t judging her, but it still felt a bit cold.
“Yeah, she asked. Just like I knew she would,” I told him.
Mark’s lips quirked and he grunted.
“What’s your deal?” I asked.
He shrugged. “I like Gemma. She’s my friend and while you think you and Avery were doing nothing wrong we both know you were blurring the line. It makes me question her character… and maybe yours a little also.”
My gaze lightened as he spoke. He wasn’t wrong, an emotional affair is just as bad, maybe even worse than a physical betrayal. But his feelings about the situation should have nothing to do with Avery. She had never crossed any lines in our interactions, and she couldn’t be blamed for what I had felt for her while I was still with Gemma. “If you want to judge or question someone, then let it be me. She’s done nothing wrong and I would appreciate you not treating her like she has.”
Mark dipped his chin. “I guess none of it matters since you’re finally acting like a human again and not a stubborn, cranky hermit asshole.”
A smile crossed my friends face and I let out a bark of laughter.
Avery made her way back to us, curiosity lighting her features as she slid into the corner booth next to me.
“What’s so funny?” she asked.
I smiled and shook my head. “Nothing.” I gestured to the shot sitting in front of her. “We were just waiting on you.”
A playful twist lifted her lips as she grabbed the shot and downed the drink. The rest of us followed suit, and we fell into comfortable conversation. Avery zeroed in on James and started asking about Julia and the wedding.
I held back a groan of sympathy for my friend as he started to tell Avery about the flowers his bride has chosen. The poor bastard knew the difference between a Calla lily and an Oriental lily. Okay… so do I, but Julia had included him in every fucking detail. He even had an opinion about the damn dresses her girls would wear.
I slid my hand over Avery’s bare thigh. Her dress had ridden up slightly, enough so that my palm was only inches from her juncture. She glanced at me as James continued telling her about the wedding. I pushed her dress up a little further and brushed my fingers along the soft skin of her inner thigh and over the lace fabric of her wet panties.
The moisture made my cock jump with excitement. Pushing the lace aside I ran one finger along the slit of her silk lips. Her trimmed curls were wet and I knew if I could see them they would glisten in the dim light. I pushed my finger in between her folds and was met with a wet heat that almost made me groan. Slipping lower so my thumb could tickle her clit I teased the swollen bud for a few seconds before sinking two of my fingers deep inside of her.
Her breath hitched and her gaze flicked to me. I smiled, but kept my attention on James as he prattled on about some more wedding related facts. I sunk my fingers deep into her and withdrew slowly, all the while my thumb made soft circles over her clit. I felt when her body clenched and knew she was close. I slowly eased up, holding her right at the tipping point. Her gaze swung to mine and held. I brought my free hand to cup the side of her neck and tucked her head between mine and the back of the booth. Her breathing was a bit ragged as my lips, feather soft, brushed over her ear.
Before I could say anything, she whispered, “You are an evil man. We’re in public, and your friends are sitting here with us.”
I blew against her neck and whispered back, “But they don’t know what I am doing to you. To them it looks like we’re just having an intimate conversation.”
I flicked her clit softly and withdrew my fingers to let them hover at her entrance.
Her lips captured my earlobe softly biting down before her tongue swept over the outer shell.
“Don’t you dare stop now,” she rasped low.
My finger entered her harder this time and my thumb quickened its pace. Sending her over the edge she’d been teetering on.
“My God, you’re wet, and responsive, you have no idea how badly I want to spread you out and lap up every drop of your release.”
Her head tilted away from me tossing her hair over her face to hide behind the thick, dark veil of silk. I felt her teeth clamp down on my shoulder, stifling her whimper as I continued to play her body through her orgasm.
Her hand fell to mine squeezing and trying to pull me away. She lifted her head then and caught my gaze. “You have to stop,” she mouthed.
I smiled and dropped my forehead to hers.
“What’s the matter baby?” I asked in a low almost gruff tone. I was hard as a rock. Her juices drenched my fingers and the sensation went straight to my aching cock.
“If you don’t, everyone in this bar is going to know what you’re doing,” she whispered, her heavy lidded eyes trying for serious.
“Just an intimate conversation,” I whispered back as I smoothed her dress back down her thighs.
Chapter Seven: Avery
Perfect Counterparts
I kept my face partially hidden as I tried to slow my heart and level my breathing.
I took a covert glance around the table. The pinch of concern I had melted away as I noticed no eyes were on me or Jace. It had been wildly erotic having him touch me like that. Where anyone could discover what we were doing. Exhibitionism wasn’t something that had ever turned me on. I would have thought that I would have been furious, but no. I just wanted his hands back on me.
Jace turned to look at me, a flash of something devious crossed over his features as he plastered a devilish smile on his face.
“You need another drink?” he asked, his eyes sparkling with humor.
“I don’t know, Jace, she looks awfully flushed right now. I think the alcohol might be getting to her.”
My eyes drifted to Cole as he grinned like the freaking Cheshire Cat at me. His mischievous eyes flicked between me and Jace. I suppressed a groan and forced myself to keep from hiding my face in Jace’s shoulder.
Jace’s knuckles grazed over my heated cheek. His gaze locked with mine. “You do look flushed. I think it might be time to get you back to the hotel.”
I nodded, my mouth and lips both very dry. My tongue slipped out to wet my lips as I lost myself in his heated gaze.
I heard a soft chuckle from somewhere at our table and I shifted my gaze to see who had made the noise. With little surprise I realized it was Cole.
“Take the limo. Just send it back when you’re done.”
I slid from my seat, self-consciously fiddled with the hem of my dress and tried to force calm through my body. We said our good-byes and I told the
guys it was nice to meet them. It truly had been.
Jace’s hand landed on the small of my back as he led me from the bar.
He opened the limo door and I slid into the seat he’d occupied only a short while ago. My cheeks flamed as memories of me giving him head bombarded my thoughts. God it was… well fantastic. No, fantastic didn’t do it justice. Jace leaned in through the open door.
“I’ll be right back.”
“Okay.” I nodded.
He returned a short minute later, slipping into the limo and shutting us inside. He reached out to pull me to him and wasted little time crushing his lips to mine. The heat and passion had me breathing in shallow pants as his hand grazed up my side to cup my breast.
His breathing was just as affected as my own. He murmured against my lips, “Kneel on the seat and hold the headrest.”
I arched a brow, but there was no way in hell I wasn’t going to do what he requested. I liked the heated need in his command.
Jace moved behind me, his hands sliding up my thighs to push my dress to my waist and hook his fingers in the top of my panties. The lace rubbed against my thighs as he pulled them down my sensitive skin to my knees. I lifted each knee so they could come free of my body. I glance over my shoulder to see him shove them in his back pocket. I couldn’t hold back the small laugh that bubbled up as I watched him. His gaze lifted to meet mine. He didn’t say a word just smiled sheepishly at me. I didn’t question him either. At least I could be sure they wouldn’t be left in the limo when we were done.
His hand trailed up my back, under my dress where he deftly unclasped my bra. His hand slid over my ribs to cup my breast. My head fell forward as a whimper formed in my throat. I heard the tear of foil as he massaged my breasts, alternating between them.
He pressed against my entrance and heat flooded me. My fantasies were replaced with a blindingly hot reality. Any unease or self doubt I had ever held about my worth or my body, was washed away when he murmured my name in a breathless prayer. With agonizing slowness he glided into me inch by inch until he was fully seated in my warmth.
He stalled there for a second, his breathing harsh. I couldn’t take it any longer. I pressed back, my ass rocking against him. His palm on my breast squeezed as his other hand found my hip where he held me tight and began a slow rhythm of thrusts and withdraws. Heat plumed and the whimper I had held in, turned into a deep moan that sounded out through the rocking interior of the limo.
“Harder,” I demanded.
His hand released my breast and took hold of my other hip, where his fingers bit into my flesh and he thrust deeper and harder, fueling my need and desire for him. Every nerve in my body tingled and I was overtly aware of every place our skin touched. I could hear the slap as our flesh came together and I nearly lost it.
Jace wrapped his arms around my waist leaning forward he nipped at my shoulder before lifting me and taking a seat on the plush leather where he settled me on his lap. My heels found purchase on the floor. I pressed my back to his chest and bounced with the rhythm of the moving vehicle as we moved along the strip. Jace pulled the front of my dress down, releasing my breast of the last material that shielded them from his hungry hands. His lips moved over my shoulder and latched on to my neck where he bit softly.
“God damn, baby. You are so tight.” His words were like a drug as they floated to my ear in a deep, husky tone.
I picked up my pace, wanting to push him over the edge. I wanted to hear my name on his lips as passion, lust and need overtook him. Reaching my hand back I grabbed the nape of his neck, turned my head and kissed him hard. My tongue swept greedily over his before I sucked his into my mouth and upon releasing it, bit his lower lip gently. His hands tightened on my breast and his head fell back against the headrest.
“Avery,” he groaned. It sounded more like a plea or a prayer, but it wasn’t breathless this time.
It was intoxicating. I wanted to hear it over and over again.
He grabbed my hips and pulled me down hard, he slid a single finger to my clit and with one pinch of pleasure I was lost. Fire flooded my veins. I felt my muscles constrict and pulse around him as waves of heat pooled and crashed all over every part of my body. Jace grabbed my chin and turned my face to capture my lips in a crushing, bruising and perfect kiss.
My eyes slammed shut and my fingers dug into his hair. The kiss slowed and became something softer, gentler, but was still filled with the passion one finds with their perfect counterpart. The one person who makes everything in life make sense. The one person who knows how to heat your veins and hold you through the waves of pleasure only they can provide.
They were some scary thoughts. I was lost to this man, and I didn’t know if it would break my heart in the end.
He moved to my forehead, where he pressed his warm lips to my sweaty skin.
“You’re fucking perfect. Do you know that?”
I didn’t say anything. I just let a heady breath free. No man had ever thought me perfect. None had ever said it. None had ever made me feel it.
“Avery?” he said my name so softly. My eyes fluttered open and I was instantly entranced by his dark gaze.
“I was just thinking the same thing about you.”
Chapter Eight: Jace
Truths, Lies And Omissions
I was far from perfect, but for her I would fight through hell for the opportunity to try and be perfect. She brought something out in me that I had long ago forgotten and thought was lost. Passion.
Was it a dick thought? Yep.
Sure, I had loved Gemma, but even at the start of our relationship we hadn’t been this combustible.
“We’re not moving anymore.” Her sweet voice drew my attention. And I couldn’t help but smile at the words.
She shook her head. It squeezed at my soul that somehow she could already read me like a book.
“I mean the limo is parked. You dirty man,” she said with a sugar sweet tone.
I lifted her off my lap and laughed as she huffed her objection to the move. I kissed her slowly as I clasped her bra and pulled her dress back up over her chest. She adjusted the skirt while I dealt with cleaning myself up enough to walk through the lobby of the hotel.
“I told the driver to park and leave us be. That we would exit when we were ready.”
She shook her head. “I can only imagine what that poor man thinks of us,” She said, reaching for her purse and pulling her little sweater back on.
“He thinks I gave him a good tip to simply sit in a parking lot like he was doing back at the bar.”
She scoffed and pushed open the limo door.
We reached the elevator and she watched me as I reached out to press the button to which floor I intended us to go to. If she thought that I wasn’t planning to take her back to my room, then she had lost her mind. I hit the 20th floor button and her brows arched.
“You have a suite?” she asked.
“Yep, I do.”
“What if I wanted to go back to my little room?” she questioned.
I closed in on her, my hands landing on her hips. “To get your things?”
“W-what?” she stammered slightly and it warmed my heart.
I reached out and hit the 10th floor button. Where her room was located “We can go get your things, then you can come back to my room.”
Her head tilted. “You want me to stay in your room with you?”
I laughed. “Hell yes I do, I am not even close to finished with you.”
I never will be.
The elevator dinged and opened up to her floor. I followed her to her room.
She had a wry smile as she opened the door.
“It’s a bit messy,” she admitted and bit her lower lip as I followed her inside. I hadn’t noticed the discarded clothing when I picked her up earlier.
I laughed. “Messy? I’d say a tornado came through. What the hell were you doing in here?”
Her hands landed on her hips as I surveyed her room. “I was try
ing to figure out what to wear.”
I grinned at her. “For me,” I stated.
It mattered for some reason. I would think her beautiful in any damn thing she put on. Of that I was sure. However, knowing that she spent her time worrying about what to wear for me, well it gave me a ridiculous amount of pleasure.
She blew out a heavy breath and her hands fell from her hips. “Yes.”
I studied her. She looked conflicted by her own admission. “Why does it look like you feel bad about that?”
“Because I didn’t know then.”
“Know what?” I asked.
This wasn’t feeling right. Something had shifted in her and it wasn’t where I wanted her head to be at.
She averted her eyes as she admitted what was bothering her. “That she was out of the picture.”
I closed in on her, drawing her eyes to me. “You feel bad that you cared what you looked like because you didn’t know I was no longer married?”
“Yes,” she said. All playfulness and coyness were gone from her voice. “I feel guilty for wanting you for so long.”
I cupped her cheek and she leaned into my hand. That was a good sign. “You have nothing to feel guilty about. I was the one who was married and pining for you.”
She held my gaze as she asked, “Was it because of me?”
My heart squeezed, but there was no way I could lie to her. “Gemma found out about you and told me I had to stop talking to you or she was gone. I wouldn’t give you up. I couldn’t, and I don’t intend to now.”
She closed her eyes and whispered, “You shouldn’t say things like that to me.”
"I would have said them a year ago when I first felt them, but I was struggling with my morals and what to do about Gemma. Things had been rocky long before I met you.” She stared at me, that unsure look flashing in her eyes. It wasn’t an easy thing to explain, and I hadn’t been honest with her about my wife. “From now on I refuse to hide anything from you.”
