  “On behalf of Tianna and me, I want to thank you for helping mom make things happen. I am a grown ass man, and you and mom are still spoiling me.” I declared.

  “Timothy no matter how grow you get you will always be our baby,” Shine confessed.

  “Ahh. Damn!” I retorted.

  “You are stuck with us for life. Now, where is my new sister? I am very eager to meet this young woman who has secretly captured your heart.” Shine stammered.

  “Please, Shine don’t start no shit with, my wife.” I threatened my sister.

  Shine giggled.

  “Tim you are worried about me, but I am the least of your troubles!” Shine spat at me.

  “Shine what in the hell are you referring too!” I barked.

  I hoped that this day would not end in a disaster.

  “Nile is bringing Brandy with her.” Shine blurted.

  “I am going to kill Nile!” I howled.

  Nile was also one of my older sisters. Nile

  was 5ft 8 a hundred forty-five pounds. My sister was gorgeous, and all of her friends were more beautiful than her or just as beautiful. I met Brandy through Nile. What a mistake that was on my part. Looks can’t be the only thing that a woman has going on with herself. To make a long story short things dd not work out between us. Brandy turned out to be my worst nightmare in the flesh.

  When I broke it off with her crazy ass Brandy went berserk. The pussy was straight trash, and her head game was way the hell off. I knew that she could never be my bitch or wife, so I let her go very smoothly at least I thought it was smooth. I even sent the bitch a let’s be friends card and flowers, but the bitch wanted my soul.

  Brandy busted all my windows in my car and slashed my tires. I had to get an order of protection against her wild ass.

  All of this happened after I broke up with my ex and Brandy was one of the many reasons why I practiced abstinence.

  I don’t know why Brandy wanted to bring her ass around me today. I swear that if Brandy comes for my wife, I will be going to jail tonight. I don’t give a fuck! I don’t play about my wife.

  I calmed myself down. I did not want to alarm

  Tianna.

  “Brandy will get her ass beat today!” I hissed to Shine.

  “Don’t worry bro I already alerted the twins to be on the lookout. I got some bail money just in case for them!” Shine interjected.

  My cousins Tisha and Tasha always handled all beef when it came down to anyone one fucking with the family. The twins were twenty-five years old and did everything in unison. They both had long hair and were short and petite, but they had big mouths. I never saw nobody talk as much shit as their little asses did. They were about 5 ft 5 each and about a hundred five pounds. Don’t let their size fool you the twins could fight their asses off.

  “I am not worried.” I retorted.

  “Ok then. I am ready to meet my new sister. I hope she is nothing like Nile!” Shine snarled.

  “Do I look like I could deal with someone like Nile for the rest of my natural life?” I smirked.

  “No little bro you don’t, but that’s why we have Tisha and Tasha to get get rid of motherfuckers like that. We only deal with Nile because she is family.

  “Shine you know it is a struggle to keep the peace whenever Nile is present. I wish her the best, but I

  hoped that she would keep her ass wherever she is for the time being.” I acknowledge.

  “Bro a lot of people not just family feels that way about Nile,” Shine mentioned.

  “I won’t let Nile or Brandy steal my joy. Let’s find mom she was with Tianna.” I suggested.

  Shine spotted Mom sitting under a shady tree. Tianna was sitting with her at one of the picnic tables that were in the fairly large yard.

  “Hi, mom.” Shine said.

  “Hello, baby. How long have you been here?” Mom asked Shine.

  “Not long mom. I was just trying to get the children settled. Devin is keeping an eye on them for the moment.” Shine told mom.

  “Ok well, at least you get yourself a break from them. I realize that your boys are quite a handful.” Mom sided with Shine.

  “Tianna this is my sister Shine,” Tianna said softly.

  “Tim I really think that Tianna is going to fit in well with our family. She is gorgeous.” Shine said boldly.

  “Thanks, Sis. Tianna is my true love.” I bragged.

  “Wow. I wish you guys nothing but happiness, love, and prosperity.” Shine stated.

  Thank you so much. Shine you are too kind!” Tianna wailed.

  “Tianna, you are welcome. Mr. and Mrs. Greg congratulations on your new journey together. Tianna welcome to the family. Tim loves you, so I love you too.” Shine approved.

  “Look at our family. It’s expanding very rapidly. I never imagined all of this when Peter and I married.” Mom said with joy in her heart.

  We laughed.

  “Our family has a promising future.” I agreed with my mom.

  “Kandra your food is delicious,” Tianna mentioned.

  “Thank’s baby! There is plenty if you want more.” Mom told Tianna.

  “No thank you. I am stuffed,” Tianna told my mom.

  “Sit down Tim. I will fetch you a plate of food. Everyone should be here soon, and the festivities will begin.” Mom instructed me.

  “I will tag along. I need to eat before my boys notice that I am away.” Shine announced.

  “The joys of motherhood.” I spat.

  I sat with Tianna and waited for my mom to return.

  “I hope that you are enjoying yourself. I knew that my mom and pops would love you.” I blurted to Tianna.

  “Yes, Tim. I am having a blast. I wasn’t

  expecting this at all. I feel accepted by your

  parents and your sister. Do you have other siblings.” Tianna replied.

  “Yes. I have a brother named Luke. He won’t be here he is in Egypt on military duty. I also have a sister named Nile she should be here any minute.” I acknowledged.

  “Tim, you have never mentioned your family to me before why is that?” Tianna curiously asked.

  “It’s nothing personal. We have been dealing with a lot with your dad’s death. I normally speak to my parents twice a week or more and the same with my siblings and immediate family. We are a very closely knit family. I will introduce to my aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws after I get some food in my system. I am starved out.” I explained.

  CHAPTER 14

  SHINE

  I don’t know what’s going to happen when Nile come up in here with Brandy, but I will have my new sister Tianna’s back all the way. The family is always first, and bullshit walks. Brandy can bring her young, dumb, reckless ass to my parent's house with her crazy self and I will dog walk her ass with the twins right on up out of here.

  I wanted the best for Timothy and Tianna, and I will not allow Brandy to fuck up there union with her pettiness.

  “Mom the food is so delicious,” I said as I bit into a piece of fried chicken.

  My dad had grilled ribs, chicken, steak, sausages, and hot dogs. I helped my mom prep the food. I just loved family time.

  Mom made potato salad, greens, red beans and rice, pound cake, and mac and cheese.

  “Thanks, baby.” Mom replied.

  “What do you think of your new daughter?” I blabbed.

  “Today was my first-day meeting Tianna. She

  seems very young, but I must admit that’s she is a lovely young lady.” Mom spoke truthfully.

  “I must agree with you mom. I don’t even think that Tianna is even eighteen yet. Hey, age ain’t nothing but a number. Besides Tianna seem really

  mature for her age.” I added.

  “Yes she is, but my Timothy loved her enough to marry her, so his actions speak volumes to me.” Mom insisted.

  “You are right mom. Timothy is very picky about his women.” I muttered.

  “Shine are you ready. I
need to get this food to Tim!” Mom yelled.

  “Mom I have been standing here waiting for you,” I said glaring at mom.

  “Come on then. Don't be sassing me, girl!” Mom shrieked.

  Mom could be a hot ass mess at times, but I have learned not to let her words bother me. Talking shit was in her blood, and we all got it naturally from mom’s side of the family.

  “Here is your food Tim. Don’t forget to pray over your food before you eat.” Mom insisted.

  Tim prayed over his food. He swiftly woofed down his food.

  “Damn Tim! Why are you eating that shit like that?” I howled.

  “I have been craving this good cooking for a few days now. I just could not help myself.” Tim explained.

  “Tianna please don’t starve my brother.” I joked.

  “Shine trust me when I say that Tim and I eat very well every night. I just think he misses his mama’s cooking. I will have to have Kandra give me some of her recipes and teach me a few of her secrets.” Tianna told me.

  “My wife has been taking good care of me.” Tim insisted as he kissed Tianna on her lips.

  “Eww. I am trying to eat here. You guys need to get a room.” I playfully teased the newlyweds.

  I was so happy to see them show affection towards each other publicly.

  PETER TIM’S DAD

  “Son it is time that you introduce your gorgeous wife to the family. Hurry over here and grab this mic son.” I broadcasted over the mic. “We are coming pops!” Tim bellowed as he grabbed Tianna’s hand.

  I was so proud of the man that my Timothy has become. I am happy that the Lord allowed me to see the day that he found true love. My heart was

  overwhelmed because many families are not

  blessed with obedient sons.

  Tim grabbed the mic from me. I embraced my son.

  “Hello, family. As you all know I entered holy matrimony with this lovely young lady yesterday. I would like to introduce to some and to present to others my wife, Tianna Greg.” Tim announced.

  Everyone was cheering and throwing rice at the beautiful newlyweds.

  “What is the meaning of this?” Brandy screeched.

  “Oh Lord who invited this raggedy bitch?” Tisha howled.

  “I don’t know sis, but I think we are going to have to dispose of the ghetto trash.” Tasha declared.

  “Yes, hopefully, we won’t catch a charge like we did the last time,” Tisha muttered.

  “Right Tisha! I really want some of the wedding cake!” Tasha yelped.

  I notice the twins both stood up. It looked like some shit was about to pop off. I loved my twin nieces. I knew that they never started shit but always ended shit. I turned around and realized that Nile had brought Brandy here to the party for Tianna and Timothy. Now, why in the hell would my daughter do that knowing that her friend was not wrapped too tight?

  “Nile, you know damn well that Brandy isn’t welcome here!” Mom screamed.

  “Calm down mom!” Devin advised as he rushed Kandra’s side.

  Devin was a good man. He was always where I couldn’t be like he had magic powers.

  “Why not Kandra? Tim is my man. He doesn’t belong to this hussy!” She growled.

  “Who are you calling a hussy? You hoe ass bitch. I am Tim's wife, so you better watch who the fuck you talking to before you reck your damn self!” Tianna defended herself.

  Damn, I did not now Tianna had it in her to stand up to a bitch like Brandy.

  “Who is this little young bitch!’’ Brandy barked.

  “Tim tried to say something, but Tianna interjected.

  “Do I need to clean the wax out of your fucking ears? I SAID I AM TIMOTHY’S WIFE! MY NAME IS TIANNA GREG FOR YOUR INFORMATION. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE THAT YOUR IGNORANT ASS WANT TO KNOW?” Tianna bellowed.

  “Married! Tim, how could you marry this ugly nappy headed welfare recipient?” Brandy snarled.

  Brandy had pushed Tianna’s buttons to the limit. The next thing I knew Tianna hit Brandy with a two-piece knocking Brandy to the ground. Tianna

  was on top of Brandy. She was beating the dog

  shit out of the big mouth terrorizing bitch. Tim

  grabbed Tianna away from Brandy before she did

  to much damage. Tish and Tasha dragged the bitch to Nile’s car.

  “Nile you know that you are dead ass wrong for this. I hope that you are happy that your friend got her ass whooped by our new sister. Tianna doesn’t fuck around so tell your unstabled wicked ass friend that she can get more anytime.” Shine blurted to Nile.

  “You must leave Nile. Come back after you drop your friend off at her home. I don’t know why you insist on hanging with low life bitches.” I ranted to Nile.

  Nile did not say a word she just walked away sobbing.

  “Ok family there is nothing to see here. Let’s get back to the celebrating Mr. and Mrs. Greg!” Devin announced.

  “Cake. Cake Cake. We’re ready for some cake!” Tisha and Tasha began to chant loudly.

  Other family members began to chant along with the twins.

  “No cake yet guys. So slow your roll because it’s time for our newlyweds first dance.” Kandra announced.

  My wife looked super sexy today. She had gotten

  her hair done yesterday at the Salon on Merchants

  Road. I loved her grey hairs. She wore a knee-length jean dress with matching sandals. I was happy to share these special moments with her. We were now empty nesters, but our home stayed filled with family, love, and happiness.

  Tianna and Tim danced to Alicia Keyes song “No One.” It was the perfect song for the two lovers because everything was going to be alright. Everyone was singing along.

  After the dance was over Tisha and Tasha were acting a fool again about cake. Those two must have a sweet tooth because I never knew anyone to act the way those sisters were. It didn’t surprise me at all because my brother Joseph was a darn fool as well.

  “Kandra let’s serve the champagne and the wedding cake before the twins set some shit on fire!” I bellowed.

  “Okay baby! We about to get things cracking so that we can dance the night away.” Kandra approved.

  CHAPTER 15

  TIANNA

  This is undoubtedly one of the best days of my life. I have a whole new family. No more grey skies for me. Now that the tables were turned I felt so much better about myself. No more tears as I lay awake at night now that I have Tim.

  The wedding cake was fabulous. It was three tier with a happy couple topped and surrounded with tiny colorful flowers. I fed Tim a piece of cake, but when it was my turn, he smashed it on my nose. It was all in fun though, and nothing to get upset about.

  People were leaving because it was getting dark I never had so much fun in my life. The dancing, jokes, and food were all appreciated. We received plenty of wedding gifts. I was really overwhelmed, but I did not feel lonely but apart from the crowd finally. I would love to move to Eerie mostly because of the way Tim’s closely knitted family showed me, love. Who knew what the future holds. I never thought I would be married and a millionaire at seventeen. I used to be between a rock and a hard place, but things had changed very rapidly for me.

  “Tianna are you ready to go?” Tim asked me.

  Yeah, baby! I am exhausted.

  “Let’s say our goodbyes to mom and pops,” Tim instructed.

  “I will be right there in a minute,” I called out to Tim.

  I stood up in the backyard surrounded by the nightfall, and the starlit sky. I closed my eyes and made a wish upon one of the many stars. My dream wish was that Tim and I would have a love like Peter and Kandra. I realized now that all I ever wanted was to be loved and happy.

  After I made my wish, I opened my eyes and stared at the sky for a few moments. I smiled and walked into Tim’s parent's house to say my goodbyes.

  “Oh, there you are Tianna. I was just about to send Tim to fetch you.” Kandra told me.

 
; “Ms. Kandra I told Tim I was coming. I was just enjoying the cool breeze. I really love how you have your backyard set up.” I responded.

  “Tianna just call me mom. I know that you may be uncomfortable, but it won’t last long. Dear, you are welcome to come here and do whatever you want in our backyard.” Kandra insisted.

  “Thanks, Mom. Tim and I will have to make plans to visit again soon.” I said softly.

  “We would be glad to have you. Wouldn’t we

  Peter?” Kandra snapped.

  “Woman, what kind of question is that? You already know that our home is always opened to all family whether they live near or far!” Peter retorted.

  Peter sounded like a crabby old ass man. He looked weary maybe that is why he seemed so grouchy.

  I walked over and gave him a great big hug. Peter hugged me back. I felt loved.

  “I enjoyed my day here dad,” I said through my tears.

  I had been holding back my tears all day. Peter’s embrace reminded me of Duke, my daddy.

  “What happened? Tianna why are you crying!” Tim barked as he rushed to my side.

  “Nothing. I just miss my daddy. Babe this is going to be harder for me than I thought!” I wailed.

  “What’s ailing Tianna?” Kandra frowned.

  “Mom and Dad, Tianna just lost her dad a few days ago. I just think she is having one of those moments. Grieving is a process, and you never know when it will hit you.” Tim muttered as he held me and kissed my forehead.

  “Baby, you have my condolences. I am so sorry. Please let us know if we can be any help.” Kandra mumbled as she wept.

  “It’s cool mom. Tianna and I took care of

  everything. There is nothing to be worried about.” Tim assured his parents.

  Kandra consoled me. She rocked me back and forth in her arms as she prayed for me.

  “Tianna, let it all out, baby. We all got to leave here someday. Make peace in your heart and allow your daddy to fly high because he is in a better place now.” Kandra whispered.

  “Thank you, Mom.” I whimpered.

  I made you guys some plates to take home. I really enjoyed your company.” Kandra said in a meek voice.
