Gu Hongyi thought for a bit, before she said, “We’ll help the Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace to deal with the Sacred Palace.”

Since the equilibrium had already been broken by Fan Yao, they were naturally more than happy to side with the Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace. This would at the very least put them in an advantageous spot.

Zhou Tai, Lu Yan and the others immediately nodded in acknowledgement.

“Senior and junior sisters of the Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace, we’re coming to aid you!”

The Cangxuan Sect disciples dashed forward, boxing in the Sacred Palace disciples from another direction. Gu Hongyi had retained some level headedness, and thus did not direct the Cangxuan Sect disciples too close to the Hundred Flower Fairy Palace side. This would prevent them from being surrounded if the latter suddenly turned on them instead.

Although the chance of that happening was slim, it did not hurt to guard against every possibility.

Gu Hongyi had already experienced how humans were the greatest danger in the Mythic Utopia. The tamed conflicts in the sect were basically as pure and innocent as white lilies when compared to this place.

The flames of battle spread outside the six color lake as the three groups fought.

The other teams in the area quickly backed away upon seeing this, afraid they would be drawn into the conflict.

However, when the Sacred Palace side saw the Cangxuan Sect join the fight, one of the leaders suddenly looked towards the teams behind them and roared, “Anyone who stands with our Sacred Palace will get the Divine Establishing Treasures on the tree after this matter is resolved!”

This individual was rather quick-witted, and knew that they would surely be at a disadvantage with the Hundred Flowers Fairy Place and Cangxuan Sect joining hands. Hence, he attempted to lure the other factions into the battle. Although they would not play a decisive role, it would at least alleviate some of the pressure from the Sacred Palace.

His words immediately caused some of the teams to stir. The treasure tree in the lake was far too alluring after all.

However, due to what they had seen earlier from the Sacred Palace, some of the teams were still quite hesitant to take up his offer.

“I promise it in the name of our palace master!” The Sacred Palace leader fanned the flames even harder.

The other teams were finally no longer able to hold back this time. They quickly charged forward and began to enter the battlefield.

With the addition of these other factions, the area around the lake grew even more chaotic.

Although it was mayhem around the lake, the majority would cast their gazes towards the lake from time to time. They clearly understood that the true deciding factor was the battle between the chief disciples. The side that emerged the victor would greatly swing the momentum outside.

  ...

In contrast to the chaos outside, the atmosphere in the lake was eerily chilling and still.

Tang Xiaoyan’s chest heaved gently, the fury and frostiness interweaving in her eyes turning her beautiful goose egg shaped face rather dark and stormy. She was sweet and gentle by nature, and this was the first time since they met that Zhou Yuan had seen her so angry.

“Good, I’ve finally had a taste of the Sacred Palace methods today!” Tang Xiaoyan clenched her jaw as she sent Fan Yao a death stare.

Fan Yao remained expressionless as he indifferently said, “I repeatedly reached out to offer an alliance, but you just had to be so tactless. Since that was your choice, you shouldn’t blame me for what happened.”

At the very beginning, he had indeed wanted to ally with the Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace to finish off the Cangxuan Sect first. However, he had not expected Tang Xiaoyan to be so guarded against him, and if things dragged on in this manner, the three groups would end up sharing the spoils equally.

This was obviously not something he could accept.

Hence, since the Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace was being so uncooperative, he could only find a chance to break the equilibrium...

However, there was one thing Fan Yao felt rather regretful about. He had originally intended to launch a sneak attack on Tang Xiaoyan. Zhao Ru was just a brainless woman with a big chest, and they had nothing to fear from her. As long as he could finish off Tang Xiaoyan, he was confident in stopping Zhao Ru from taking any action.

But Fan Yao had not anticipated that Tang Xiaoyan would be so cautious, and maintain a certain distance from him from start to end. This made it impossible for him to act, and ultimately left him no choice but to attack Zhao Ru, who was completely oblivious to his true intentions.

What could he do, when a woman was so gullibly trusting, he just had to do it...

The outcome was surprisingly good. Even if Zhao Ru had not been finished off, she was likely cripled, and was no longer of any threat towards them.

Now that it was two against three, Fan Yao had nothing to fear.

While such thoughts were swirling in his head, Tang Xiaoyan laughed icily and mockingly said, “Cooperate with you? Given your greedy nature, you’ll probably turn on us the moment the Cangxuan Sect is out of the picture, right?”

Fan Yao did not comment, but smiled and said, “Isn’t it rather meaningless to say such things now?”

Tang Xiaoyan icily stared at Fan Yao with eyes full of hatred. Soon after, the frostiness on her face receded as she turned towards Zhou Yuan. “Chief disciple Zhou Yuan and Jin Zhang, I believe we should work together in this situation, right?”

Zhou Yuan returned to his senses at this moment and nodded. “That’s exactly what I hoped for.”

It was naturally good to have one more chief disciple on their side.

Tang Xiaoyan’s figure moved backwards a little, and stood together with Zhou Yuan and Jin Zhang.

Zhou Yuan looked at Fan Yao and smiled faintly. “You’re quite the ruthless one, but doesn’t it seem as if you don’t have much of an advantage in this two versus three situation?”

Fan Yao’s sinister gaze turned towards Zhou Yuan. “Has a single woman given you so much confidence?”

A mocking angle rose from the corners of his mouth.

“Ah well, I guess it’s time to make you pitiful fellows give up…”

His hand patted the spatial bag at his waist, as a flash of red shot out. It appeared beside him, revealing itself to be a standing blood-red coffin.

The coffin was covered in ancient patterns that looked both strange and eerie.

Fan Yao gently patted the coffin, causing its cover to jerk and slowly slide away. Zhou Yuan’s eyes narrowed when the cover fell, while Jin Zhang’s expression changed drastically.

A deathly pale corpse silently stood inside the coffin, with numerous blood-red patterns decorating its lifeless body.

However, a strange and dangerous sensation spread from its body.

Of course, the thing that had made Jin Zhang’s expression change was that the corpse belonged to Ning Mo, whom Zhou Yuan had gravely injured previously!

  Fan Yao softly chuckled.

“The secret technique of the Sacred Blood Hall, Blood Corpse Art…”

  “Please give me your guidance.”

  Chapter 585 Battling Fan Yao

The blood-red coffin sat erect in the air with Ning Mo’s corpse standing within it. A sinisterly strange aura spread, causing the faces of Tang Xiaoyan and Jin Zhang to change.

  Creak!

A bizarre noise sounded from Ning Mo’s corpse at this moment, before it began to move. With slow and rigid steps, it slowly walked out of the blood coffin.

His eyes were ash-white and contained no trace of life. However, an extremely chilling and hair-raising undulation spread from inside his body.

Tang Xiaoyan gritted her teeth and icily said, “You… you’ve turned your fellow disciple’s corpse into a blood corpse?!”

Zhou Yuan frowned slightly, as a look of disgust flitted across his eyes. Fan Yao was truly unscrupulous. Ning Mo was a fellow disciple of the latter after
all, and yet Fan Yao had turned his corpse into this abomination.

Fan Yao ignored their judging gazes, and instead reached out a hand to gently caress Ning Mo’s ash-colored corpse with a slight look of ecstasy in his eyes.

The requirements to create a blood corpse were extremely stringent. Moreover, there was only a brief window to work with after the target’s death to ensure that it would retain some of its strength when it was alive.

He had been quite obsessed with this technique in the past, but never had an appropriate target to use it on until Ning Mo, who had ultimately become Fan Yao’s best experimental material.

After refining, the blood corpse would not be any weaker than Ning Mo when before his death, and if properly nurtured in the future, it may even surpass the former self when alive.

Of course, the amount of resources needed to nurture the blood corpse was so enormous that even Fan Yao would have difficulty bearing it.

“I’m sure junior brother Ning Mo will be very happy to know that he will still be useful to the Sacred Palace after his death.” Fan Yao raised his head and grinned at Zhou Yuan and Tang Xiaoyan.

“Moreover, I believe that the Sacred Palace elders will not have any objections to this matter. After all, the dignity of the Sacred Palace is far more important than anything else, and it’s definitely worthwhile for me to use Ning Mo’s corpse to regain some of our dignity.”

Fan Yao’s scarlet pupils paused on Zhou Yuan’s body, as the smile on his lips grew even more sinister.

“Chief disciple Zhou Yuan, given the current situation, do you still feel that you guys have any chance of victory?”

Fan Yao folded his hands into his sleeves, completely calm and composed. After eliminating one of the Hundred Flowers Fairy Palace chief disciples, the situation had once again fallen back into his control. He did not believe that the other side had any chance in a three versus three scenario.

Tang Xiaoyan and Jin Zhang’s faces turned rather ugly at this moment, clearly also realizing that the odds were no longer in their favor. Although the numbers on both sides were even, Fan Yao was not an ordinary chief disciple.

His strength was ranked top ten even amongst the many chief disciples of Cangxuan Heaven.

As such, Fan Yao only needed to beat his opponent to begin the domino effect that would lead to their crushing defeat.

Upon seeing Tang Xiaoyan and Jin Zhang’s expressions, Fan Yao laughed and said, “Do you regret your decision now, Tang Xiaoyan? Did you really believe that these trash from the Cangxuan Sect would be of any use?”

Before Tang Xiaoyan could reply, Zhou Yuan had already walked past her. He cracked his neck in a bored manner and said, “Why so much rubbish… won’t we know the answer once we fight?”

“Ning Mo basically said the same thing as you previously, and what happened to him in the end?”

Tang Xiaoyan was slightly taken aback as he gazed at Zhou Yuan’s figure. She did not know why, but the unease in her heart slowly began to fade when she saw his confident expression.

  Maybe he was that capable?

Zhou Yuan tilted his head to the side and said, “Chief disciple Jin Zhang and Tang Xiaoyan, I’ll hand Wang Yuan and the blood corpse over to you guys. Leave Fan Yao to me.”

Jin Zhang and Tang Xiaoyan nodded in acknowledgement.

“Be careful.” Warned Tang Xioayan, before the two began to move towards the left and right, moving to their own battlefields.

With a wave of Fan Yao’s hand, Wang Yuan and the blood corpse followed Tang Xiaoyan and Jin Zhang. The former folded his arms across his chest with what seemed to be a smile as he stared at Zhou Yuan and said, “I’m honestly very curious to know why you’re so confident in taking me on alone.”

Zhou Yuan did not answer. With a grasp of his hand, the Heavenly Yuan Brush appeared and swiftly began to grow. Its snow-white tip gleamed icily as it swept across the air.

His presence slowly began to grow at this moment.

  “A Heaven Genesis Weapon huh…”

In the earlier battle, Fan Yao had already seen the strangeness of Zhou Yuan’s Heavenly Yuan Brush. The former raised his eyebrows slightly, as blood light surfaced in his hand. A split second later, a ghastly white bone claw staff appeared.

The ghastly claws on the tip of the staff seemed to stretch forward, a cold and sinister aura flowing along its sharp blades.

It was also a Heaven Genesis Weapon.

When it appeared, the air around Fan Yao turned chillingly cold, as ghastly wails began to echo.

Although Fan Yao had repeatedly talked about how he looked down on Zhou Yuan, there was no sign of him going easy on the latter. Fan Yao was clearly being prudent to prevent any mistakes from happening.

The Heavenly Yuan Brush in Zhou Yuan hands jerked lightly as golden Genesis Qi erupted from his head. One could faintly see a golden python coiling within it, as it reflected behind him to form a golden starry sky.

“The Genesis Qi starry sky phenomenon?”

Fan Yao’s eyes narrowed slightly as he stared at Zhou Yuan and slowly said, “To have such a level at the seventh layer, you are really quite something.”

“However, if you believe that will allow you to act as you please before me, I’m afraid that you’ve made a grave mistake!”

He suddenly slammed the claw staff downwards as blood-red Genesis Qi soared out from the top of his head. Blood-colored light flowed behind him, also transforming into a starry sky.

What’s more, his Genesis Qi starry sky was clearly substantially stronger than Zhou Yuan’s.

Fan Yao’s Genesis Qi foundations was at the very least around the thirteen thousand level, and was clearly much stronger than Zhou Yuan’s ten thousand level.

Outside the lake, numerous gazes were closely watching the face off between Zhou Yuan and Fan Yao. The onlookers could not help but gasp when they saw both chief disciples display the Genesis Qi starry sky phenomenon.

However, it appeared that Fan Yao had the upper hand.

Zhou Yuan and Fan Yao’s gazes clashed above the lake, as concentrated killing intent spilled from their eyes. It was obvious that both individuals were dying to kill the other.

  Rumble!

In the next instant, a dazzling glow erupted from the starry skies behind them. A storm of Genesis Qi violently unfurled as both figures disappeared from the spot.

Mere breaths later, the two figures collided in the sky.

Countless gazes converged towards this location, focusing on the two figures that were clashing like heavenly lightning and earthly fire...

They knew that the fight between these two would decide who would have the final laugh… and regardless of who won, this battle would definitely spread throughout the Mythic Utopia.

  Chapter 586 Hard Fight

  Clang!

In the sky above the six color lake, vigorous golden Genesis Qi accompanied the Heavenly Yuan Brush as it sweeped downwards, and ferociously collided with the white bone claw staff. A clear ‘clang’ sounded, as a ripple that could be seen with the naked eye swept outwards, slightly distorting the surrounding space.

Zhou Yuan and Fan Yao’s gazes were locked together, chilling killing intent sugging within them.

In the next instant, both parties made their move.

Brush and staff shadows filled the sky, pouring out like torrential rain. A series of explosions immediately rumbled in the sky, the two individuals exchanging several hundred blows in the mere span of a few dozen breaths.

Neither side tried anything fancy, both purely relying on their Genesis Qi foundations.

Fan Yao was clearly extremely confident in his Genesis Qi foundations and believed that it was all he needed to crush Zhou Yuan. However, Zhou Yuan was unafraid. Although the number of Genesis Qi stars in his Qi Dwelling was less than Fan Yao, a battle between Genesis Qi was not solely based on Genesis Qi star number...

Though his Omni Serpent Qi was only a grade 6 Genesis Qi. Its quality could match some grade 7
Genesis Qi.

Fan Yao’s blood-red Genesis Qi was also at grade 6, but there was still a substantial gap between it and Zhou Yuan’s Omni Serpent Qi.

Therefore, Fan Yao may have more Genesis Qi stars, but Zhou Yuan was superior in quality.

  Thud! Thud! Thud!

The two fighters exchanged several hundred blows in the sky, the intensity of the battle causing several onlookers to swallow. However, they could tell that neither individual was able to take the upper hand.

This was rather surprising to them. After all, from the standpoint of Genesis Qi foundations, Fan Yao was clearly at an advantage, but reality showed that this not actually the case.

  Clang!

The Heavenly Yuan Brush and white bone staff fiercely clashed in the sky, causing ripples to sweep outwards, before the two figures shot backwards.

Zhou Yuan steadied his body as he stared at Fan Yao. The latter was very powerful indeed. Zhou Yuan had managed to suppress Ning Mo previously with his Genesis Qi alone, but was currently equally matched against Fan Yao.

However, Fan Yao’s expression was clearly much darker than Zhou Yuan, likely not expecting his advantage in Genesis Qi to achieve nothing against Zhou Yuan.

“His Genesis Qi is clearly at the grade 6 level, why is it able to suppress my Blood Demon Genesis Qi?” Fan Yao was rather frustrated. The grade 6 Genesis Qi he cultivated was something that was only available to the chief disciples even in the Sacred Palace. He should have been able to suppress Zhou Yuan even if he also cultivated grade 6 Genesis Qi.

Although Fan Yao was frustrated and unable to comprehend this situation, he was after all a seasoned fighter, and quickly withdrew these feelings. He swept an icy glance at Zhou Yuan, as his hands suddenly formed a seal.

  Bzz!

Blood-red Genesis Qi poured out from his body, causing a bloody stench to fill the area.

Since he could not gain the upper hand with Genesis Qi alone, he would have to bring out Genesis techniques to obtain victory. As the chief disciple of the Sacred Blood Hall, Fan Yao had already spent many years training in the Sacred Palace, and did not believe he would be incapable of dealing with a new chief disciple that had been in the Cangxuan Sect for a few years at most.
