Mia

“Mia?” Her eyes were watery, and she looked like she was ready to cry.

I nod. “Yes, I’m back since it’s finally safe. What happened?”

“The dark mermaids took my father as a way of punishing my people. Unless I go to the sacred area and get the sword of the sea I’m screwed. They took my father as a punishment, too,” she said.

“Oh, damn. I hope he is going to be okay. Is there anything I can do to help you get him back? Maybe team-up like old times since my mom and I have helped you before? I came to you because my friend Layla was poisoned by the corrupt werewolf leader and the only way I can cure her is with the healing solution you have, so maybe we can come to an agreement. I’ll help you get the sword, and in turn I can get the solution as payment,” I said.

She smiled. “Just like old times. I still remember your mom and I teaming up to stop the shark raiders from harming the townspeople. I wasn’t able to get through since there was a forcefield blocking the way and guardians. I needed one of you to help, and I was hoping to see you at some point.”

“I’m not just a witch but a full angel witch, and next to me is Castiel, my Angelmate.”

I flex my wings, hoping they will work underwater, and they came out easily.

Once she saw them she was shocked. “Wow! So it must be you then. There was a legend where someone with wings will break the forcefield and save us, and I wonder if it’s you?”

  I nod. “I’ll help you.”

“Then there is hope, and if we don’t get him back, then our people are doomed. He is my dad. Mom is devastated and is hiding in her room crying so we need him back. If you help us out, I’ll give you the solution and you will have our help in the future in any way we can,” she said.

Angelwitches will save the day, and it’s going to be good to have more allies.

“Then let’s go. No time to waste,” I said.

She smiled, “We need to hurry since my dad’s life depends on it.”

And she got up. It was time to put our plan in motion.

  “Follow me,” she said.

And we followed her. It was time we help her too, and I was happy to, if it meant saving my friend and her kingdom. She took us to a secret place, and we followed her through the castle. It was a nice place colored with all blue. We went room by room until we got to a door.

She turned to us. “This library has a secret passage that will lead us to a path which will mean we will have to fight the guardians before getting the sword. I have clearance to enter along with my family. They know you are coming too. It’s good to see you and have you back.”

“We have your back,” I said.

  She smiled. “Good to know.”

“We will definitely be able to help you,” Castiel said.

We get access to the passage and travel deeper into the cave. It smells like rotten seaweed and fish. I could live without it. But the deeper we go, the creepier it gets and the more the power of the aging sea gets stronger. It’s a heady feeling since it feels like it calls to me. After a few minutes, we stop since the power was radiating off the door, and that is how we knew we were there.

  “Ready?” she asked.

“As ready as we both will ever be,” I said.

She opened the door, and there was a huge-ass, blue force field blocking the way. It was a huge room with stone walls and candelabras throughout the place. It was amazing and I noticed the sword was on a stand behind the guardians. The guardians were skeleton-like figures with swords, and they were wearing tunics. They have dark sockets where eyes used to be and were bony. Yikes. They were guarding the sword, but we had to take down the force field first.

I went up to the blue pulsing mound and then gave it a power ball. It failed and the blast knocked me back. I got up and then went at it again. Fail.

Marsala said, “Let’s try this together, like old times, since it might need witch and mermaid magic.”

  Castiel smiled. “And Angel magic.”

So we all held hands and I was in the middle, and we called our powers. Marsala’s eyes glowed gold, mine were blue, and Castiel’s were green. We all were one as we sent a powerful ball of energy. It broke the forcefield with such force that we had to duck to avoid the blast. It was powerful.

It disappeared and now we had to deal with the guardians. They looked at us when it came down. We were all ready to go. I’ll be using witch fire since it works under water. I also knew hand-to-hand combat since they had trained us for fighting at witch school in case we needed to defend ourselves. I was also small and that helped in battle.

They were immobile until we broke the force field, but then they came to life like our magic woke them up. We charged, all of us side by side, witch, mermaid, and angel. All warriors in their own names. Castiel is a sword person so he had his Angelfire sword ready. He wanted to defeat them like I did. He moved fast when he charged at the guardians and blocked one while hitting another. He was so good at it that he could block them easily and not get hurt. He looked like he was trained to fight, even under water.

I was hurling fireballs at them and my friend even taught me how to fight under water. One of them tried to come at me but I dodged it and hurled a fireball at him, making him explode. I even conjured a sword of my own since I could use one after my coven taught me. Once a leader of the witches is chosen, they have to have a sword fight to the death. I also loved the clash of the swords too, but one of the guardians had me pinned down. The sword was almost to my neck, but the thing exploded since Castiel helped me out. He winked at me and it was back to the battle.

I jumped on one and then chopped him in half all the way down. I decapitated a few since I added a jumping spell to make it more interesting when I fought some of them. They did outnumber us, but it was easier than I thought to defeat them. I loved to fight since it was easier than anything else. Dodge, duck, fireball. And it happened again and again with the dodge, duck, fireball. Castiel just fought with his sword and Marsala used both magic and a sword. It was like that until all the guardians were destroyed. All of them. They were all dispatched, and the sword was free straight ahead. It was a long sword with a merman at the hilt and smooth metal. Marsala went to it and pulled it out. The magic connected with hers and it made it a part of her.

“All my life I couldn’t hold the relic till now and it’s amazing…,” she said.

“It is and now you can get your dad back,” I said.

“I have to do this alone anyway. Since we got the sword I’ll give you the solution so you can cure your friend,” she said.

  “Thanks,” I said.

We made it back to the castle and she gave me the solution. Before I knew it, we were out of there, and it was time to cure my friend with the solution. It was in a blue glass bottle and I was supposed to inject it into her body. We headed to the compound to tell Angeline the news so we could get Ember since she was the one who could get us in to see Rockie.

  Chapter 7

After getting the solution, we headed to the main area of the AngelWitch compound. Back in the main area, we all gathered together with Angeline, Felix, Ember, and Syphon.

“We have the solution so we can see Rockie and cure my friend,” I said.

Angeline said, “I knew you could do it. Let’s get your friend before she runs out of time…”

We gather together and head out. I can finally see the light at the end of a very long tunnel. Finally, I’ll get closure. That way I can move on with my life and help the girls battle evil. In the limo on the way, it was quiet, and I’m sure we were all anxious to see it end. I was eager to get my life back. I really was, and once we made it to Rockie’s Blood we went straight to his office.

  “Good news?” he said.

  “Got the solution,” I replied.

He smiled. “Good. Now let me take you to her since she doesn’t have that much longer anyway.”

He got up and went to his bookcase. He pulled out a book and there was a creak as the door opened. I
t revealed a hidden passageway. We headed deeper in and it was a stone passageway. It led to a room and there she was in a hospital bed asleep. She had dark hair and dark eyes, too, with a tan. Her eyes were closed, and she was hooked up to an IV. I went up to her IV bag and I saw where the stuff goes into her body for the drip. I grabbed a syringe and put all of her solution in the bag. I have helped people in the witch infirmary, and they taught us some medical stuff at witch school for emergencies so we could take care of our own. And once it was all deposited the stuff made her open her eyes. It healed her the moment it entered her system.

She opened her eyes. “Where am I?”

Rockie smiled. “My restaurant in a safe area. You are free from him and we are going to stop him,” he told her. It was a good thing she was safe, and I was happy she was awake and that it was working for her. There was a chance it wouldn't. It did and I was happy since she has had my back more times than I could count. Now that she was cured, we could take him out.

She sighed. “That is good. I was afraid I would have to take the abuse he gave me. I was so afraid since he almost killed me, and I kept getting sick and passing out.”

“Well, now that you are safe, we can go after the leader and put a stop to this once and for all,” Rockie said.

It’s going to be good to stop them. I am happy to see it through.

“He does need to be stopped since I’m not the only one who went through this…,” she said.

“He does, but how do you stop him?” I asked.

“I have to call him out and fight to the death. There is no way around it, and Mia can come with me along with Castiel as a witness,” Rockie said.

“So then let’s go…” I head out with Rockie and Castiel comes with us to be a witness. We get in the car; it was finally coming to a close. The limo ride took a good twenty minutes. Finally, we made it to the place, and it was a big mansion. It was also gated, like the last pack house, since they don’t want anyone just walking in.

Rockie hit the button on the speaker. “I would like to see Dorian, it’s Rockie, the leader of the Wolf Black pack…”

“You are allowed in.” Then the gate opened.

We went in. Werewolves were everywhere, looking at us with disgust. They don’t like angels either, especially us. We walked through the house. We finally made it to the place, and Rockie went in. The main area was a huge room. The leader, Dorian, sat on the throne. He looked at me with hatred. I knew he didn’t like me. I didn’t like him either because he was a wife beater. He made me sick just like my ex. His good looks just got me in a sexy way, and I wondered why all the assholes had to be sexy. He had black hair, black eyes with lashes, and pale skin. He wore a black shirt and black leather pants.

  I glared at the asshole…

Rockie looked at him. “You have been abusing your werewolves under your care, and even abused your girlfriend, which means you broke werewolf code. Never abuse those you have to protect... I challenge you to battle.”

He smiled at him. “I have been waiting for this, and the winner will end up with both our packs. You never wanted to build a super-powered pack like I did. We could have helped the dark angels win and could have been on their side in the upcoming battle.”

“This is Pack law too, to take care of your own, and I’ll be happy to take over and show them what real care is like instead of yours. I wasn’t going to interfere until one of your own came to me almost dead since you wanted to make her a submissive and abuse her like she wasn’t used to,” Rockie said.

“She was supposed to be one of my bred wolf witches and it failed. We can’t use magic. We needed the magic to help us out, and have you forgotten the end of the realm means you need to choose a side? Then again, I accept, since I want to take over your pack and show them what a real man is capable of and not one that wants to sit on the sidelines.”

  Dorian charged at Rockie.

The battle was on. Rockie and Dorian circled each other, and I watched the fight anxiously along with Castiel. I couldn’t take on Dorian myself since it was between pack leaders. I’m also not powerful enough to take on a ton of werewolves, so this was the only way I could see the fight through. This is what I had been waiting for, and he needed to be stopped.

Dorian got in a few good punches and Rockie hit him with one of his own. A few punches backed by Rockie, and Dorian didn’t knock the blow out in time. Instead, he tried but failed. Then Dorian got a good one in too, and they were vicious since Rockie had him by the throat, and then Dorian pushed him away with a kick to his chest. It winded him, but he got up and charged right back. He tried to punch Dorian, and he was faster, so Dorian went down. He got right back up and then went for his throat. Rockie blocked it and they keep circling each other. Rockie charged, and Dorian didn’t knock him away in time and wound up hitting the wall headfirst.

Rockie was wickedly good. Rockie got a lot more in too, and he was advanced since he knew exactly how to fight. Dorian was losing soon enough since he kept taking blows and not blocking them in time. Punch... Punch... Hit... Hit... Hard enough that Dorian flew into the wall again, and it broke the wall too, leaving a nice-sized hole there. There wasn’t any getting up from that. It was the last blow that got him. Rockie went back in the hole and snapped his neck. He won both packs. He won for the both of us. I was there to witness the end of my torment. And finally the truth came out since I was now free of being a target for werewolves and dark angels. It was over.

“All hail Rockie! We have a winner!”

Rockie held Dorian’s lifeless body and tossed it in the middle and it was over.

“Rockie is now the leader. Any objections?” someone asked.

Everyone shook their heads, and some were happy... Dorian was a bad dude. Rockie now leads another pack and we are safe. Castiel and I head back after Rockie gives the pack some instructions. In the car everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Rockie was healing fast and any bruise he had all but disappeared. It was over. Everything was back to normal.

We make it to the restaurant and go to Rockie’s office.

Rockie sat down, beat. “I will straighten everything out. You have my help and both packs for the evil coming. It won’t be easy, and you need all the help you can get.”

“Thanks, and we do. You have also helped me clear my name too,” I said.

“Anytime. I will see you guys soon. Let me know when you need me,” he said.

  “We will,” I said.

  Chapter 8

Back at my apartment, I look around, and I pack up my apartment for good. There is no point in staying here due to the memories. I will stay on AngelWitch island and help with finding the other girls. Everything has changed, and I’m finally at a place where I can leave the hell of department stores for good. Castiel is on the island taking care of stuff, and he will come over when I get off my shifts. I took a wine glass and poured a drink for old times’ sake. I was drinking to celebrate and not because I was a miserable, lonely retail worker. I finally have someone who cares about me, and our love gets stronger every day. It’s a bond unlike any I have felt before. I love it, and I plan on being happy with him forever.

  THE END FOR NOW!!!

  Chapter 9

  Chapter 1 Angeline:

I can feel your emotions like bees buzzing in my head. I try not to meet your eyes since the moment I do I can feel what you feel. Your anger, impatience, everything. And I can feel the way you look at me with pity the moment I put on my retail uniform. I can also control the way you feel too, and since you came at me in anger due to me not being able to work on your watch, I swallowed it and replaced it with calmness. Take today for example…

…I was near the end of my shift at Kyle’s today, and I was cleaning the counter since it needed a good cleaning. The jewelry was practically sparkling in the lights in the case. It was finally free of greasy fingerprints. Luckily, all the front end registers have people which means no calls for me. It was finally time to see if there was stuff to put a
way at the fitting room, and I went to go there when a customer walked up. The customer was an older woman with white hair, grey eyes, and wrinkles everywhere. She worked a floral print top and blue stretch pants. She came up to my counter and said, “I need a battery in my watch.” She took off the watch and handed it to me.

I looked it over…It wasn’t one we carried, in fact, it was one of the more expensive ones. Bigger than my paychecks combined.

“I’m sorry ma’am, but since it’s not a Kyle’s General store brand, we can’t work on it due to liability issues,” I said.

And she glared at me. “I have had it done before here, and this is an expensive watch. I don’t want to take it to a jeweler.” The anger radiated off her so badly I had to take a step back. I’m an empath after all. I could also swallow it and feed off it if I wanted to.

I stood my ground. “We can’t work on it since it’s not one we carried, and if they have worked on one, then they lost their job because of it. I said no.”

And since she was acting that badly to me, I decided to take it away from her and influence her since I didn’t want to keep arguing with her. The emotion of anger was like a little red ball swirling around, and I took it into me. I replaced it with the blue ball of calmness.

She relaxed and said, “Okay, I will just take it somewhere else then.” And she walked away….

I sighed, taking off my nametag and gathering clean clothes. My apartment is my place to unwind and get away from the world. Another day was done, of this job from hell at Kyle’s General store. The hot water of the shower soothed my sore muscles, but it did nothing for the goop that ran off me in clumps going down the shower drain. Clumps of negative energy residue leftover from the customers at my job. The shit that gets sloughed onto me day after day, of working in a man-made prison of manual labor. Or hell. And I’m a witch, but I don’t know what kind yet.
