‘I will be ok if we can work together on this, I can get an idea on the difference in the spell and see what it is.?’ There was a pleading in his voice to Aura.

Aura could see he thought that what he had to do was very important for them to know and she could see he was very determined to do it. ‘Ok I will keep back and also as a double check I will get WhiteStar and Shylyn to pull us both back if it draws me in as well.’

Angel breathed a sigh of relief when she agreed to this. Now I can try and see what’s in the spell that is drawing me in. It’s not the magic of the spell drawing me in but the need to know what the difference in the spell is. It is me that wants to go right in to the pattern and see what the difference is. I’m the one who is drawing me into the spell to the exclusion of everything else.

Now Aura can pull me back if I get too rapt in it. Now I will just stick my head around the corner to see the pattern and see where the Renegade is standing performing the spell. This spell is one that works as the spell is being woven and so it must be right for it to work properly. But he is not doing it properly for there are gaps in the pattern and this is the only reason the old spell is still working.

If the Renegade was to fix all the little areas that are disrupting the pattern then it would work better. But he is hindered in that the pattern is so complex he can’t have it all in his memory. He would have to have it written down somewhere like a pattern used for weaving mats. With the pattern so complex he would have papers all over the place.

Then there is the fact he can’t see the pattern and has to rely on his memory of the pattern he is after. That is why there are so many areas in the pattern that don’t work. He is so involved in the weaving of the spell and keeping it working against the old spell that I will be able to study deep into the pattern of the spell and see where the difference comes from.

Angel took some deep breaths and then drawing on magic from the others he gently looked deep into the pattern trying to see what was different about the spell. He knew it was old but what was the magic originally used for. He could see the original pattern had been for something completely different and not for what it was now being used for.

As he went deeper into the pattern he started to see what the spell was originally used for. It had been a spell made to hold things together, something like the old spell holding the school to the mountain but not quite that way. It was more like holding a group of things together so they would not fly off.

Where the Renegade found it from was anyone's guess, but found he did. Now he was trying to make it do the opposite of that and make it repel away. If he could get it into the old spell which he has done then he could get it to start making the old spell repel itself and anything it held away.

The Renegade was not doing it right for there were too many mistakes in the pattern to work properly. That is the only thing saving the old spell and the school at the moment. But it could still do the damage if he gets it better, and he was starting to do that. As he looked at the spell he could see little mistakes being fixed but there were so many of them.

Then a thought come to him that he did not like, for the Renegade does not need to get it perfect for once it was big enough then parts of the old spell would fall apart and anything stuck to it at that point would fall apart. He could see they only had a little time left before it would be starting that process. With enhancing the healing in the old spell it would also give them a little time but not much.

Now he needed to find what was so different in the spell that has been drawing his attention. There was something so different in the spell; he had seen the spell was like in ways to the old spell but then the Renegade has been using different magic to change it. Not Renegade magic.

This Renegade had found a magic that was totally different to anything anybody would have seen. It was nothing like their magic and from what he knows the Renegades are just like them except they just have different objects in life. So that means their magic would be like our magic.

Now he needed to see what the difference in the magic is and see if he can tell where it comes from and how a Renegade can be able to use it. Angel could see the magic would be very hard for any of their wizards to use. Which means that Renegades would have the same problem except this Renegade does not have that problem?

Angel delves a little deeper into the different magic and is suddenly repelled back out of the spell. He pulls his head away from the door with sweat pouring down his face as he leans up against the wall.

‘Angel are you ok what happened, I followed you so far then you seamed to go very deep into the spell and all of a sudden you went flying past and I was tugged along with you. What happened did the Renegade feel you in the spell, if so you better get away quick?’ She felt his fear as she spoke to him and could see he was starting to shiver.

Angel just leaned against the wall for the moment before he spoke to Aura. He slowly relaxed and the shivering slowly stopped. ‘I’m ok and no he did not feel me in the spell, he is to enrapt in what he is doing for it is using a lot of his magic to create this spell. No it was something I found in the spell and I need to go back in there, now.’

‘What’s in there that you need to go back for, if it was strong enough to knock you out, won’t it do it again?’ She could not understand him wanting to go back in after it pushed him out.

‘No Aura it did not push me out, I pushed myself out for what was there I did not like, but I need to go back and see it again and quickly for the longer I take in going back the harder it is going to be. I must go now.’ He knew she would not like it but he could feel she will keep an eye on him this time more closely.

He went in deep again very quickly this time as he wanted to be in and then out as soon as he could. What he had felt in there repulsed him so much, but he needed to see it again to try and understand the nature of it.

He went deep to the point again where he had pushed himself back out for what he had seen deep down in the spell was something he had never come across before. He needed to see it again to make sure of what he had seen there in the different part of the spell.

What he was looking at was the magic changing the spell to make it do the opposite of what it had originally done. As he got to the point of where he throw himself out he managed to stay just a little longer before he went flying back out again. The same thing happened again and Aura could feel him shivering again and also feel the sweat that was running down his face again. Aura was going to get him to go back to the others before he did something to himself.

‘Aura its ok I’m going back to the others now as I have seen all I want to see here. I’m ok it’s just what I saw down deep in the spell was something that I never would have thought possible.’ He was shaking as he spoke in his mind to Aura and she could feel him doing it.

Angel slowly made his way down to the others in the room under the Renegades. He entered the room and the others came over to him straight away and crowded him wanting to know what he had found. He now had to explain what he had seen in the spell that he had thrown himself out of twice.

Before he was going to tell them he needed to be sure of the Renegade first. ‘First we need to be sure of the Renegade and see if he is still working the spell. Can one of you just check him?’

Shylyn nodded to Medwin as Shylyn and Maive checked over Angel to see he was alright. Medwin drawing on WhiteMoons strength let his magic move up to the spell upstairs just to see if the Renegade was still working on the spell. He found he was still performing the spell but found the spell was weakening.

The Renegade was getting weaker with using his magic so much, for he had been at it from the start of the attack on the school and possibly when they had first opened the portal. If he had been doing it from then he would be starting to get very tired and would soon have to stop.

Medwin come back to the others and explained what he thinks will happen. ‘I think he will have to stop soon as he is running out of strength for he has been
doing this from the time the portal opened and that is a long time to keep working on a spell. It would not help with us using our magic to help the healing powers of the old spell.’

The girls were still keeping an eye on Angel as Medwin explained what he thought. Angel looked at him nodding as he had listened. ‘I think you right he will have to stop soon and that will give the old spell time to repair itself. The spell he uses is one that must be kept working for it to have any effect on the old spell. If it stops then the old spell will try and repair what has been damaged.’

Medwin looked at Angel before he spoke and Angel looking back knew what he was about to ask. ‘What did you see in the spell that forced you out of it, was the spell that strong it could push you out?’

‘Yes tells us what happened in the spell Maive and I would like to know, how bad is it?’ Shylyn was starting to look worried as Angel was holding back from telling them what he had seen deep in the spell.

Angel looked at them and knew they needed to know what he had come across in the spell bad enough for him to push himself out and twice. As he was about to explain what he had seen they all felt the ripple again in the magic. The old spell was giving them another warning.

Angel gathered his magic and sent it up above to the spell and the Renegade finding him still working the spell but he was weaker but it was the spell that had changed a little. He could see the pattern was a little more whole than before which meant the spell would be working on the old spell better.

Angel gathered all their magic to him and sent it to the old spell outside. He felt along it till he came to the hole where he found it bigger. The healing spell was not able to keep up with the damage that the spell was doing to it. He called in the dragons’ magic and tried to reinforce the healing spell around the hole. It seamed to be working again and was starting to push back against the Renegades spell.

He did some more reinforcing and then they heard a yell from up above and knew the Renegade had picked up on what they had just done or at lest seen the healing spell fight back after he had been winning. They were sure he had not picked up they had done it; well they hoped he had not.

Angel then went back to what they had talked about before and was about to tell them when Aura and all the other dragons came into the minds. ‘There are three more dragons just coming into land on the Renegades deck and are going into join the other dragon there. There are three more Renegades coming to see the one upstairs. You must stay quite and then leave?’

They stood still and listened, not hearing anything they went over to the door and Angel stuck his head out the door and listened. He could hear steps coming up the stairs and quickly pulled his head in and closed the door. He quietly pushed the bolt through and they waited.

They could hear the Renegades talking to themselves as they came up the stairs but not what they were saying. They listened and heard them stop at the door above and could just hear some voices. One of the voices was very commanding and they felt it to be the Renegade who was casting the spell.

Angel and the others used their magic to feel the spell up in the room above, only to find it had been stopped. The Renegade had stopped the spell when the others arrived but with them there he will have the four of them now to cast the spell and that will make it stronger.

Suddenly they heard them up in the room casting the spell again and quickly using their magic felt the spell to see how strong it was. To their horror they could feel the spell was now very strong and getting stronger as the main Renegade got to enhance his spell as he cast it.

Angels little group using their magic went out to the old spell and the area around the hole just hoping the healing spell would be able to hold them back. They found their hope dashed as the old spell started to peel back. Then they could see other little areas just starting to do the same. It was spreading and there was nothing they could do to stop it.

Medwin Asked Angel what he had seen in the spell? ‘Angel tell us what happened when you went into the spell that pushed you out.’

‘I went deep into the spell to see what the difference was in it, for there was something so very strange about the spell and the magic in it. I got to where I could feel the magic, the strange magic and what I found was Evil. The magic is just so evil that anything it touched would make it hard to fight. That is what is changing the spell and making it fight the old spell and the old spell has not got a chance.’ He looked at them and they could see on his face the fear he had held back from them.

‘It is now time to fight the Renegades, now we fight or we die for they will not stop until the Wizard School is in the sea. We are the only ones who can stop them and we must do it now. The time has now come to free the Renegades dragons; we must end this now.’ Angel moved to the door so they could go and confront the Renegades.

  The Final Battle Begins

They slowly climbed the stairs up to the room the Renegades were in. They could feel the magic in the air as they slowly got closer to the room at the top of the stairs. As they reached the top, there came another ripple in their magic.

This ripple was a lot stronger; it felt like the spell was crying out to them for help. Angel moved to the door and poked his head around the corner of the door to see where they were. As he looked he could see the main Renegade with his back to him and the other three were spread out around the room but all looking at the main Renegade. He was the one controlling the magic in that room.

Then it struck Angel the three other Renegades could see the spell the main Renegade was casting. He could now see it with his normal eyes and not through the magic he normally uses. Looking at the other Renegades face he could see the amazement in their eyes being able to see the pattern of the spell.

With them being able to see the spell they are now able to fix the areas that are not very good. As they repair one little patch they can feel the spell getting stronger all the time. Angel was wandering how the Renegade was able to do that for as far as they knew no one was able to do that except them.

Angel pulls his head back and moves back to the others where he tells them. ‘The Renegade has somehow come up with a way of seeing the spell just like we can. With him being able to do that the other Renegades can now repair the patches the main Renegade has missed. This allows him to keep building the spell up and making it bigger so that it affects the spell quicker.’

‘What can we do, the ripples that we feel are getting more urgent all the time. They are coming quite often now. We need to do something and soon, but what?’ Medwin looked at them, his face unable to hide his fear.

Shylyn looked at them, knowing what she was going to say would put them all at risk. ‘It’s like you said when we left the room we are going to have to fight the Renegades and now. We have to go to the door and just fire as many energy balls as we can and then run for the deck.’

Maive nodded her head as Shylyn finished. ‘We must do it soon as I have a feeling we don’t have much time left. Angel it’s up to you as you are the one who can control the magic better?’

‘Ok we do like Shylyn said and just hope we can knock at lest one of them off in that room before the rest come storming out the tower after us. Now I want you three to fire as many energy balls at the three normal Renegades, while I fire at the main Renegade. With luck they will not have come across the new energy ball. If I can keep him busy shielding himself, you will be able to get a lot more shots off at the others. Let’s do it?’ Angel looked at them and they all looked back at him. Their smiles were a bit weak and they knew it.

Angel moved back to the door with the others following. He indicated with his fingers were they would go. As he looked at the Renegades he made sure none of them were looking at the door. When he was sure they were not looking he indicated to Medwin and Maive to cross to the other side of the door.

Soon the four of them were ready with two on each side of the door. Angel looked again and looked back at his friends. He gave a nod and they did
the same back to him, they were ready as they will ever be. He looked just one more time and gave the nod, he didn’t yell as he wanted to surprise the Renegades. They needed all the edge they could get.

Angel held up his fingers and started to count down by dropping a finger as he counted in his mind. As he got to his last finger they summoned up there magic and built the energy patterns. As Angels last finger went down they all moved into the open doorway and fired their spells.

Angel knelt down and fired his spells at the main Renegade hitting him. The Renegade went flying back against the wall as the energy ball hit him. Angel had another one heading for him but could see the Renegades shield was up in time to block it. The first one had hurt him but not enough to stop him.

There was a look of shock on his face as the energy ball hit him, knocking him back against the wall of the tower. He was very quick to recover and when he seen the next one about to hit he had his shield up in time. He looked at the person who fired the shot and could see he was only a kid. The look he gave was one of pure evil as he tried to get up.

The others had been able to get at lest three shots each off at the other three Renegades, knocking them hard against the back wall. Their three shots hit them hard and they had not been able to get their shields up. They were lying on the ground and it looked as if they might be dead, when there were some groans coming from some of them.

Angel had still fired more energy balls to keep the main Renegade busy enough so he would not be able to interfere. But he didn’t think he would be able to keep it up much longer. The others decided to fire some more before they could recover, as there was some movement from them.

They got another two shots each before some more shields come up. This decided them it was time to head out onto the deck were they will carry on the fight. They all turned and ran down the stairs as they heard the main Renegade bellow at them. They were very sure he was not very happy.
