He looked at Gavrie and noticed he could see the girls were not going to last much longer. Medwin then tried to pull his magic back from Angel but found it did not want to come back. It resisted coming back and then he started to panic as he didn’t want to get stuck.

Gavrie looked at them and walked around the room to see what else was here but could see nothing of use. He was looking past one of the girls when he noticed she was swaying and could see she would not last that long at all. He needed to bring them back now without delay. Going into the centre where Angel was he looked to see if there was anyway of getting them out of there.

He could see Medwin looking at the girls and there was a look of panic in his eyes as he looked around at them. Gavrie walked over to Medwin and spoke. ‘Medwin is everything alright; the girls are swaying and will soon collapse if we don’t get them out of this soon.

‘I can’t get Angel to pull out, I’ve told my dragon and she has let Aura know who is having trouble trying to get in touch with him. We need to get him back very soon or we are going to be in trouble. Our magic will not help us as we have given the use of it to Angel.’ Medwin was looking at the girls and Gavrie could see the worry in his face.

‘Medwin if I go and tap him will that bring him around or will it shock him?’ Gavrie looked at Angel as he spoke knowing he would have to do that to try and get him back.

‘I don’t know, but maybe you could give him a message with your magic and see if he can answer. It is worth a try, as I don’t think I can stand here for much longer.’ Medwin moved off one foot and on to the other as his muscles in his legs started to give out.

Gavrie moved to the side of Angel and gently touched his fore head with just one finger. He did not want to shock Angel and lose him full stop, so he had to be very careful. Gavrie slowly let his magic awareness take over his mind and let him seek out Angel. He was not going to let anything happen to him as his family was so special to him.

Touching Angel very gently he let his magic awareness move to where Angle had gone. He found nothing in his mind and moved out to see if his mind was still in the crystal or the spell. Touching Angel at the start was very hard for him for he was not sure if he would be doing any harm.

Angel still delved deeper into the old spell trying to see what was being hidden behind it. There was a nagging feeling at the back of his mind as he tried to see. Ignoring it he moved at a different angel to look at the spell and hope that he might be able to see it.

The feeling he had was getting stronger and was starting to pull him from the spell. Fighting harder so he could find what was hidden he moved his perspective of the spell again and there just for a second he could see another spell, then it was gone. This time as he looked there was no hint of it.

Trying all different angels and perspectives but still it was gone and he had lost what he had almost found. He found the tugging feeling again and tried to ignore it but it was starting to get persistent. Finely he gave up and started to move back out of the spell and head back to the others. He found following the tugging led him out.

As he moved back he turned once more to have a look at the spell again and found that a lot of the gapes in it had been fixed. There were a lot less of the pattern in disarray now as the spell healed itself. The crystal was good for enhancing one magic and allowing one to view such a large spell.

They might have need of the crystal again at some time in the future so they must keep an eye on it. It was defiantly more powerful than the other at the school. Suddenly there was a big pulling on him and he moved back to his body and just stood there looking at the crystal.

He turned and found Gavrie standing beside him looking at him in a strange way. It was a look of someone who has found something so wonderful. That’s how Gavrie now thought of them, because they where different to all the other wizards that have been around for a long time.

Angel looks around at his friends and then into his mind comes Aura and she is very happy to see him. ‘We thought you had gone to deep like last time and we got your headmaster to try and find you. Your friends could not hold on much longer and needed you back. We are glad you are back with us now.’

‘I’m ok and I’m sorry that I stayed in there to long but there was something there and I just could not leave till I had found out what it was. But it’s good being back and this time the old spell did not try and drag me deeper into it. I think with you all linking to me that gave me an anchor to hold me back.’ He went over to the window where he could go to Aura and give her a hug.

Medwin come over to join him as the others followed. ‘What was the crystal like this time you went into it?’

‘This time I tried to control it and not it control me, it was hard but with you lot being their behind me and being my support it made a big difference. It let me see the whole pattern of the old spell. It was like a picture and I could see all the bits that had been damaged and spreading. I was then able to go closer and start to mend the big areas and set our healing spell on the small areas.’ He sat down before carrying on. ‘I was about to come out when something in the old spell caught my eye. I seen something in behind the spell, it was if another spell was hiding behind that one. I tried moving around to see it but the old spell would just cover what it was. Then I lost it completely and you lot were pulling me out. Thanks for that, I was getting so wrapped up in the spell that I would still be in there now.’ Angel looked at them as he gave a big sigh, as he just relaxed.

‘It’s all over Angel we won the spell is fixing itself and we beat the Renegade we can now relax and get on with learning magic again and being with our dragons.’ Shylyn gave WhiteStar a big hug as she spoke.

Medwin and Maive were dancing about their dragons as Shylyn spoke of their wining. Angel looked at them and felt happy for them; he would not spoil it for them just at the moment. What he had seen when fighting the Renegade did not let him feel that way.

Gavrie looking at them with their dragons and was amazed at what they had accomplished in the short time they had been here, and there is going to be some talk on how they come to have dragons when every other wizard can’t go near one. Speaking of which they have not introduced me to them.

‘Well now that things are starting to settle down don’t you think it time you introduce me to your dragons?’ Gavrie having moved closer to them as he spoke.

Angel got up and was about to when he decided up here was not the place. ‘Come not up here shell we go down onto the deck where it will be easer to do. You can ride with me down to the deck and I will introduce you.’

They climbed back up onto their dragons and they lifted into the air and down to the deck below. Angel climbed down and walked over to his friends leaving Gavrie to get himself down. ‘Gavrie these are our friends so please come and meet them. He indicated for Gavrie to go to Medwin first.

Medwin had a proud look on his face as he introduced his dragon. He brought Gavrie up to WhiteMoon. ‘This is WhiteMoon who is a part of me as I am apart of her. We are linked to our dragons.’

‘WhiteMoon I am pleased to meet you, I have never been this close to a dragon with out a Rider there to control the dragon.’ Gavrie looked at her as he was about to move to Shylyn when he got stopped in his tracks.

He stopped for into his mind came a voice of a female. ‘Thank you Gavrie Angel has told us Dragon Rider dragons do not talk. We find this very strange and would like to find out one day why this is so. It is nice meeting you.’ WhiteMoon had moved her head down to resting it on the ground as she spoke to Gavrie.

Gavrie was taken back as the voice left his mind. ‘That’s all right it was nice talking to you.’

He moved on to Shylyns dragon and as he approached a strong male voice come into his mind. ‘Hello I’m WhiteStar Shylyns friend, and please come closer I do not bite.’

Gavrie did as he was invited moving closer to where he could talk to him better. ‘I have never been able to stand this close and not have a dragon try and bite
me let alone talk to me. I am pleased to meet you WhiteStar.’

‘I would if possible some time like to sit and talk with you about magic and other realms.’ Moving back as he finished allowing WhiteFire to bring his head close to Gavrie.

‘I am WhiteFire, unlike my brother I would like to talk about the Dragon Riders and their dragons. Do you think it would be possible?’ There was a twinkle in his eye as he spoke. Maive just stood beside her dragon and smiled.

Gavrie just stood there and could not believe he was talking with dragons. ‘I think there might be a way that could be arranged, for we have to do something about what’s happened here. But I will see what we can do.’

Gavrie walked up to Aura and stood in front of her. She moved her head down to him. ‘My name is NightAura, thank you for bringing Angel back to me. He is a part of me I can’t lose, thank you.’ Gavrie looked at her and gave her a bow.

Angel walked up to Gavrie knowing there were things that had to be sorted out. ‘I think Headmaster we need to keep ourselves apart from the rest of the wizards and Dragon Riders for the moment.’

‘Why do you say that, you’ve just defeated four Renegades, this everybody needs to know. This is something joyous and the council needs to know about your dragons?’ Gavrie’s face was showing a bit of worry.

‘Come let’s go and sit by the deck edge and talk for there are some thing’s you need to know and the others need to know this as well.’ He walked towards the edge of the deck not bothering to look and see if he was being followed.

Angel got to the edge and sat with his feet just dangling over the edge. Medwin, Shylyn and Maive were there before Gavrie leaving him a spot beside Angel. Their dragons come behind him and waited for Gavrie to sit before they all put their heads down just behind their friends.

The Fight Is Only Just Beginning

As the others came and sat down he waited till Gavrie had settled himself down beside him. Angel sat there for a moment before he spoke. ‘You might be wandering what I am talking about. What I never told you Medwin, Shylyn and Maive was what I saw in the spell.’

Medwin looked at him and there was a puzzled look on his face as he spoke. ‘But you told us you saw something hidden behind the old spell?’

‘That is not the spell I am talking about, it was the one the Renegade was using to destroy the old spell. What I saw in there, I told you I saw evil but that not all as the other Renegades came at that point.’ He stopped and looked at them to see if they were listening. Finding them all looking at him he cleared his throat and carried on. ‘I told you I saw evil in the spell and that is what knocked me back. It was the shock of seeing the evil that was altering the spell so it could attack the old spell.’ Stopping again as what he was about to tell them was something he had been thinking about and how to tell them.

Gavrie looked at them and couldn’t think what they where talking about. ‘What spell are you talking about Angel and what did you see in it?’

‘The spell was what the Renegades were using to destroy the old spell holding Nirvana to the mountain. It was a very old spell like the one holding the school to the mountain. The Renegade was altering it so it would attack the old spell which it did slowly, till he was able to work on it better.’ Talking a breath he moved his hand behind him to feel Aura just at his back. He could feel her trembling as he did so.

‘It’s alright Angel I’m here and with you. I know you saw something in the spell but I was unable to see it as I was outside your mind at the time. Tell us what you saw for if it has sacred you so much then we all need to know?’ Aura moved her head closer to him as she spoke just to reassure him.

‘I told you there was evil there in the spell, but this was so intense the shock of seeing it, that’s what, threw me out of the spell. This was just pure evil and it was changing something wonderful into something so horrible. I just could not believe it was possible; I have never come across evil like that. Now this is the bit that you will not like Headmaster for this will change things now and forever.’ He stopped and looked at Gavrie as he said this last statement.

‘What is so life changing from what you have just achieved?’ Looking at Angel waiting to hear what he had to say.

‘The magic changing the spell was evil, it has an evil pattern to it and a wizard could not cast a spell like that. It is beyond our wizards magic and totally different, you would have trouble even trying it. Renegades are just our wizards who went bad, now what does that tell you?’ He looked at them moving from one to the other to see if they had got it yet.

They all sat thinking there for a short time and looked back at Angel with no comprehension on their faces. They had not picked up on what he was saying so he was going to have to spell it out to them. Aura looked at him and he could see the glint in her eye as she had come to the same conclusion he had.

‘Aura has worked it out but looking at you lot I need to spell it out. There is another race behind the Renegades using them for their own needs and that is our destruction. He was so different to them in his magic when he was attacking us. The spells might do the same things but it was the way he cast and built those spells.’ Looking at Gavrie as he told them he waited to see the reaction from him.

Gavrie sat and thought about what Angel had said and was still having trouble coming to that same conclusion. ‘He could be a very powerful Renegade who was their leader by being the most powerful. I just don’t know, if his magic is that different why they don’t just outright attack us. Why hide and direct others to do their dirty work?’

‘Let’s put it this way, would you when you are fighting another group that has more wizards than you, throw away twenty wizards, without a second thought. Then almost do the same again very soon after. They were food for the creatures as he knew their dragons would not fly away when they could not hold the portal open any longer. He knew he was sending them to their death just so he could set his spell up.’ He looked at his friends and could see they believed him and what he was saying.

Gavrie looked at Angel and over and over in his mind he was thinking on what he had said. He was right about throwing away twenty wizards and their dragons just so he could work his spell. To get rid of the wizards which would not have worked as they would just get away in their bubbles before the Nirvana fell? He wanted to get rid of the school and all the decks; this would disrupt the teaching of the students and inconvenience the teachers.

Angel has got a point with that and he would know what the magic was like when he looked at the spell he was casting. But who would the other race be and where do they come from, I will need to look at the library and see if there is anything in the special books that are hidden around it.

‘If what you say is true then we need to alert the other wizards and the Dragon Riders. They will need to know what they are fighting against and they need to know they have two groups to fight one who is hiding from everybody.’ Looking at Angel and seeing the cold determination on his face in what he believes.

‘Ok you are now thinking there is a third race who wants us gone and is fighting and hiding behind another group who wants the same thing. Now go one step more and you think if they have some in the Renegades why not the wizards.’ Now looking at Gavrie he could see Gavrie’s’ face suddenly go white as he thought on what he just said.

Angel’s friends and dragons looked at him and they went white with the dragons going a light pink in the eyes. They would now not know who they could trust and there was no way of knowing who was good and who was bad. Gavrie’s look turned to one of misery and what could he do now.

‘What do we do now with the Renegades being infiltrated and there being the possibility there might be some in the wizards, they might even have some normal spies in the Dragon Riders. What do we do now?’ He looked at Angel and knew this is what he had been waiting to see.

‘We can’t tell anybody what you saw here today and we must work to find away of finding any that have infiltrated the
wizards and see if there are any spies in the Dragon Riders. The only ones I would trust in the Dragon Riders is my mum and brothers but I don’t know about the wizards.’ He was now starting to think he might get somewhere with them knowing about the third group.

Gavrie sat there thinking about all the wizards he knows and his friends any of which could be from this evil race. ‘I just can’t think of who might be one let alone trying to find others.’

‘Headmaster what about kids growing up with you they would be ok it’s the ones who come from out of the way and who you never seen grow up. There you will find some who are to be trusted.’ Angel had heard the despair in Gavrie’s voice as he had spoken.

Thinking of all the kids he grew up with who are around and in the school now, or close by. There were a few he could say were ok, this was not going to be easy so he would have to think about it before he told anybody. But Angel was right with his mother and brothers, they would be safe and I think they need to be here with them now.

They will get quite a surprise when they see what Angle and his friends have got. Also it would be good for Medwin, Shylyn and Maive to have some one around who can fly dragons and show them how to care for them. I will send for Tish and her sons and I will do it now.

There is a way Gavrie can call a Dragon Rider and that is with a spell, it will call them to him where ever he was. He could call any Dragon Rider just so longs he has met them before. He will call Tish now and wait for her to come, so I will just cast the spell, and now we will wait.

‘Angel I have made a decision and that is to call your mother here now to talk this over. We need to tell somebody else and she is the best one to tell now, she can then get your brothers to come and stay here and show you how to look after your dragons and it would be good to have some adults around looking after you. Now we just need to find a reason why you are not at school for you need to be with your dragons?’ He got up and moved back into the middle of the deck to await Tish.
