“Don’t even think like that, she just a hoe and I needed a release, nothing more. So she was out of line to step to you.”
“After that ass whoopin I doubt she’ll ever do it again.” Neciey chuckled.
Mykell was watching them from a distance and was jealous because Q was touching her in such a way. Kya began kissing his neck and asked him if he was coming home tonight.
“It all depends on how you act.” he responded.
Chapter 3
It had been three weeks since Mykell had seen Neicey and he had pushed her to the back of his mind because he had to meet with his Puerto Rican connect so business could return back to normal. His son moved in with him at his house in Oaks Park, in the suburbs. He was on his way to pick him up from his grandpa when he thought back to when he had last seen Neicey leaving the cookout with Q.
Mykell chuckled to himself.
“She can have her fun for now, but I’ma lock that down.” he thought.
When Mykell pulled up to his dad’s house, he didn’t notice Neicey’s Benz parked across the street but he unlocked the door to find his son playing a game with Neicey. Mykell just stood there and watched for a minute before he spoke.
“Wassup lil man?” he said.
“Hey dad.” MJ said without even looking up.
Reneice acted like he wasn’t even there.
“Hey ma.” he said to her.
Reneice just rolled her eyes and kept playing.
“I see how she wanna play but I got something for her lil ass.” he thought.
“MJ go upstairs and let me holla at Neicey real quick. I’ll come get you when it’s time to leave.” he told his son.
MJ did as his father told him.
Neicey got up also and tried to walk away, but Mykell grabbed her and pinned her up against the wall.
“So you just gon act like a nigga don’t exist huh? I don’t like that.” he said starring her in her eyes.
“And?” she said with an attitude. “I don’t have to acknowledge yo presence, you’re not my nigga remember?”
“Yet, smart ass,” he replied.
“Mykell let my baby girl go!” his dad said walking into the living room.
“Thank you Pop-Pop,”smiled Neicey.
“No Problem baby,” Noah said.
As Neicey walked away, Mykell hit her on the ass. She stopped in her tracks and gave him an evil glare.
“Girl quit acting like you don't like it and be nice and fix ya man a sandwich.” He said boldly
“Maybe you forgot, but I’ll be happy to remind you once more. My name ain’t Kya and you ain't my man.” She said walking away.
Noah just shook his head at the two of them. Knowing her feistiness turned his son on.
“That’s your future daughter- in- law pops. She just don’t know it yet.” He said laughing
“I ain’t marrying you nigga!” Neicey yelled from the kitchen.
Mykell got up and went in the kitchen. He leaned up against the counter staring at her. “Ain’t you supposed to be at school?” He asked.
“No nosey, I don’t go back til september, why?” She replied.
He just looked at her.
“Come here,” he said softly.
She ignored him.
“I said come here!” He said a little more aggressively and it turned her on.
Reneice walked over to him and he pulled her into him and palmed her.
“Dead that smart shit and that attitude, now. You ain’t runnin shit here, thats all me baby girl,” he told her.
Mykell took her iPhone out her back pocket. “Unlock it,” he said.
She did what he asked. “Now when you see my name pop up on that screen you better answer,” He said before he stuck his tongue down her throat for about two minutes.
Mykell walked out the kitchen leaving her there to catch her breath.

Later that night, Neicey was laying in her bed watching The First 48 when her phone started buzzing. It was a text.
Daddy: Open the door
This nigga is something else she thought before she got up. She went downstairs and opened the door for Mykell. His hat was pulled low over his eyes, but she could still tell that he was high because his light brown eyes were low and glassy.
“Why you dressed like that? You got company? If so, get rid of em,” he said.
The only thing she had on was boyshorts and a tank top.
“How you gon tell me how to dress in my house and why you here anyway? Shouldn’t you be with Kya..” She said as he walked past her and went straight to her room.
Reneice followed right behind him. He kicked his timbs off and laid his hat on her dresser.
“What I tell you bout that mouth? Now shut up and come to bed,” he demanded.
She climbed in bed as far away from him as possible with an attitude. He pulled her close to him and kissed her soft lips.
“I’m nobody’s sideline. I’ma either be the only one or leave me the fuck alone.” She stated seriously.
“Already done, now hush,” he said. She just loved his take charge attitude but she wasn’t going to tell him that.
“I hear that hot shit.” She said having to have the last word.
She laid there for a while thinking what about this man that she was so drawn to. He had a no nonsense attitude and that just made her like him even more. Reneice was serious when she told him that she refused to be a sideline. If she couldn’t be the only one, she didn’t want him at all.
The next morning Reneice woke up early because she and Lani had a “girls day” planned. She didn’t want to wake Mykell so she slowly crept out of bed. She showered, brushed her teeth and was out the door by 9:30.
Reneice meet Lani at the beauty shop by 10:00. “Hey boo!” Lani greeted her best friend.
“Hey mami, wassup?” she responded.
“Girl nothing. Just been laying low trynna stay cute,”Lani said.
“I hear that boo,” Neicey laughed.
Rodney, Neicey’s hairdresser, met them at the door.
“Hey chicas!” He said, waving them in.
“Hey fabulous,” they greeted in unison.
When Neicey sat down in Rodney’s chair, her phone rang.
“Hello.” she answered.
“Why I ain’t seen yo face today?” Mykell asked.
“Because you were still asleep when I left,”she explained.
“Where you at?” He questioned.
“The hair salon,” she answered.
“What you doing after that?” He asked.
“Getting my nails done and before you ask, I’m going to the mall after,” she said getting impatient.
“Who you getting sexy for?” He grilled.
“Are we playing 21 questions or something? Last time I checked, I was grown.” She said getting annoyed.
“What I tell you bout that attti--”
He didn’t get to finish his sentence before she hung up on him. She hadn’t answered to a nigga in three years and he was the only one, besides Pop-Pop, that she felt obligated to answer to. He called right back but she sent him to voicemail and turned her phone off.
“Dang girl, who that trynna play daddy?” Lani asked
“Ugh yo brother.” She said, rolling her eyes.
Not shocked Lani asked dryly “Mykell?”
“Yes girl, his ass came to my house at 11:00 last night and gon send me a text talking about ‘open the door’ I was like seriously,”she said.
Unbeknownst to them, one of Kya’s cousins was in the shop taking in all this information and sent her a quick text.
Kya had been blowing up Mykell’s phone all day. She hadn’t seen or spoken to him since he left her house in the middle of the night the night of the cookout, which was almost a month ago. She had been messing with Mykell on and off for about seven years. She had been trying to get pregnant by him before he got locked up, but he wasn’t a fool. She overlooked the fact that he got somebody else pr
egnant because he always came back to her. But ever since this young bitch came in the picture, he wanted to act funny. She never went this long without seeing him, not even when he was locked up, and she refused to lose him to a little girl. She would do whatever it took to keep her man. By any means necessary.
Chapter 4
Neicey was up making herself something to eat before she went to work. She hadn’t seen or heard from Mykell in two weeks and she actually didn’t care. She hated the way he made her feel so she wanted to stay far away from him as possible. Quamir was the closest thing she ever had because back in her hometown of Grand Rapids, her brother and his friends had boys scared to approach her. She even went to her prom with one of her brother’s friends, which wasn’t a problem since she had a crush on him anyways. They had her so sheltered but at the same time they had her spoiled. They also taught her everything she knew about niggas and how they operate, that’s why she never tried to catch feelings. Quamir was the first and she didn’t plan on Mykell being the second.
She was dancing around the kitchen with the music blasting singing along with J.Cole and Missy Elliott. She didn’t even hear when Micah and Mykell came through the door. Micah turned the music down then went to find Neicey.
“Mack I told you about messing with my music! Don’t get hurt,” She yelled, knowing it was him because he was the only one that had a key to her house besides Lani.
“You ain’t gon do shit, but ain’t you late for work?” He asked looking in the refrigerator.
"Nope, I got a new job and today is my first day. I don’t have to be at work til 1:00,” She answered while putting a plate of food on the island for him.
“Where mine?” Mykell asked walking into the kitchen.
“At Kya house,” She rolled her eyes.
Micah chuckled.
“What I tell you bout that?” Mykell asked.
“Yall need to stop playing and just make it official.” Micah finally spoke up.
“Mack, yo brother want me to be a side bitch and I’m not going for that. I already told him if I'm not gon be the only one then he need to leave me alone, and he clearly left me the fuck alone.” She said while fixing Mykell’s plate.
“Man gone with all that bullshit. You had that nigga Q over here the other day, or should I say night. So what the fuck was that about?” He asked getting angry.
She just laughed and shook her head.
“What’s so funny?” He asked, getting mad.
“I’m laughing because you stalking my house now? You ain’t even got a whiff of my pussy yet and you already stalking.” She laughed again.
“You wild.” Micah laughed.
“First off I wasn’t stalking shit, I got too many bitches to be trynna stalk yo lil young ass. Second, I came to chill with yo lil stubborn ass!”
“Well if you got too many bitches then why you so worried bout me? Like I said leave me the fuck alone!” She yelled before she rushed out the kitchen.
“Man what the fuck is wrong with her? Her ass is too damn stubborn for me.” Mykell said.
“She’s just scared because she really feelin you, and she's not used to that shit because Q was the first nigga she ever really messed with. So she don’t know how to control her feelings right now,” Micah told him.
“How the hell you know?” Mykell asked.
“I’m her big brother and she talks to me about everything lil nigga, that’s how I know,” Micah answered.
They sat there and ate the rest of their food talking about nothing when Reneice came down the stairs 10 minutes later. She was wearing some short orange shorts with a tank top that said Hooters. Micah and Mykell just stared at her as she put their plates in the sink. She turned around and seen the crazy looks on their faces.
“What?” She asked innocently.
“I don’t think that job is the one for you.” Micah said
“Why not? What’s wrong with Hooters?”
“Look at what you got on, that’s what's wrong with it.” Mykell said
“OMG! Yall cut it out, all I’m doing is serving food, not giving out lap dances. But anyways I gotta go, don’t wanna be late on my first day.” She said giving Micah a kiss on the check.
When she tried to walk away Mykell grabbed her arm and asked “So I don’t get one?”
She hesitated from a second then tried to give him a kiss on his cheek but he turned his face so she could kiss him on the lips. She just shook her head and headed towards the door.
“Mack, if you leave before I get off don’t forget to lock up.”
“Got you baby girl” he told her.
Reneice was having a good and fun day at her new job. Her boss and the other girls were nice and fun to be around. The costumers were nice and tipped well. A man came in to celebrate his 21st birthday and wanted Neicey to sit on his lap while they sung happy birthday to him. She was so busy flirting with the birthday boy that she didn’t even notice Mykell and his homeboys walk through the door.
The hostess seated the men. Mykell was looking around for Neicey when he spotted her on some man’s lap smiling. The waiter came over to take their drink orders. Mykell wanted Neicey to be his waitress so he asked the girl.
“No disrespect ma, but I would like for the girl over there to be my waitress.” He said pointing to Neicey.
She said no problem and went over to Neicey.
“Hey Neicey, the table over at table nine wants you to wait on them,” she told her.
“Oh alright.”
Neicey walked over to table number nine and was shocked to see Mykell.
“Hey yall, Reneice and I’ll be your waitress for today. What can I get you guys to drink?” She greeted.
“A big glass of you would be fine.” A light skinned dude said.
“Man what the fuck I tell you before we got in here?” Mykell said irritated
“My bad man,” the dude said.
“Anyways come here.” He said pulling Neicey onto his lap. He whispered in her ear “What time you get off?”
“8:00” She said.
“Aight, go get me yo house keys and I’ma meet you at the house,” he ordered.
She was about to respond when the birthday boy and his crew walked up.
“Thanks for everything ma, we really appreciated your services and you started my birthday off right. So here go yo tip.” He said handing her a crisp one hundred dollar bill.
“No problem and no need to thank me, it’s my job. But thanks for the tip and Happy Birthday once again.” She said grinning extra hard.
He smiled then they walked away. She turned around and Mykell was frowning.
“Why you looking like that? She asked getting off his lap and rushing to the back before he could say anything.
“Damn man, she bad but she look young as hell.” His homeboy Russ said.
“I know, but shit I can train her.” Mykell told him.
“She don’t even seem like yo type. She was different then Kya’s rat ass.” Russ said seriously
“That’s why I want her," he stated.
Neicey came back with their drinks and her key.
Later that night Neicey and Mykell were watching a movie when out of nowhere Neicey told him what was on her mind.
“Mykell I’m scared,” she stated in a low childlike voice. He looked at her and asked her why.
She bit her lip and looked down at the floor without answering him. He lifted her chin with his finger and turned her face so she was looking at him.
“Talk to me,” He said.
“It’s just, I mean...I,” she stammered before she took a deep breath and spoke her mind.
“I never really had feelings for anybody before. I mean Quamir was the first one that even came close, and when he slept with Rhonda I felt crushed because I was really growing feelings for him. And you see how that turned out. But you, you make me feel something different and I’m not used to it. I’m really not trynna go there with you on that type of level because I know
you’re still fucking Kya, and if not her then somebody else. I’m not ready to give myself up like that, so I think it’s best that we just be friends and chill like we been doing. Because we’re clearly not ready to be more than friends," she explained.
He just sat there for a minute taking in everything she just said. He knew she was still young and a little naïve, but he still wanted her. He would do whatever it took for her to be his.
“Come on baby girl, why won’t you just give me a chance? Nobody’s perfect, but if you’re willing to try so am I,” he told her calmly.
She didn’t respond verbally. She just leaned over and kissed him passionately.
“So ma, tell me about you,” he said.
“What do you wanna know?” She asked.
“Whatever you feel like you want to tell me,” he responded.
She took a deep breath.
“Well I lost my mom when I was 11 to Hepatitis C, which eventually caused her livers to shut down. I never knew who my father was so when I lost my mom my brother raised me until I was 16 when he got locked up on gun charges. When he got locked up, his homeboys took care of me until I moved out here. Well, I guess they never stopped taking care of me because they still send me money every week. I’m in college studying to be a lawyer so I can help out people in my brother’s situation,” she told him.
Mykell just sat silently listening to her. Then he finally spoke.
“So the money you get every week is why you live in this house and why you driving that Benz?”
“Yes, pretty much,” she said nodding her head.
“Then why do you choose to work if you get money so easily?” He asked trying to feel her out.
“I work because I don’t like sitting on my ass. I’d rather get up and work for mine. I refuse to live off anybody, if I can get out and get it, why not do it?” She answered matter-of-factly.
He was impressed. He’d never met any female that would rather work when they get money so freely. Not even Kya. She would rather lay around all day and spend his money.
“So what about you?” she asked trying to get into his head and figure him out
“The less you know, the better,” he said with a smirk
She hit him with a pillow and shook her head.
Talking about her brother made her realize she hadn’t heard from him in a week. That could only mean one thing, he got himself into trouble. Reneice and her brother both had some very bad tempers. She figured she got it from her father because her mother was so sweet and gentle. When she was younger her teachers used to always suggest anger management, but she refused to go. She thought that meant she was crazy so she didn’t want to go see a shrink. She just knew that her brother had gotten into a fight and was sent to solitary confinement, which was the only time he wouldn’t call her. All she could do at this point was pray for him and his safety.
