Just His Type (Part One)

Page 3

by June, Victoria

"You are a flirt," Adam murmured against the side of my mouth; he took a step backward toward the living room and took me with him in the process. "Can we find that more comfortable spot now?"

We ended up in my bedroom, although looking back I'm not sure when or how. In between dizzying kisses Adam had me stripped down to my bra and panties with dextrous efficiency in less time than it took for me to notice the chill in the room. He shed his t-shirt and I stared open-mouthed at the network of dark, swirling tattoos which crossed his arms and shoulders. I'd never seen anything like them before; they were beautiful.

"I had a good hunch about these," Adam teased, running a finger lightly across the swell of my breast above my bra. "It's so nice to be right."

My giggle was muffled by Adam's insistent kisses; his hands were everywhere and it was making it hard to concentrate. His long, lean fingers definitely knew what they were doing and all thoughts of resisting flew from my head the minute he found my nipples. My toes curled as I moaned loudly.

  "Amazing," Adam whispered.

  I giggled. "What is?"

He shrugged nonchalantly and I watched the tattoo which wound up his bicep and over his shoulder ripple as his muscles moved; it was the sexiest thing I'd seen in a long time. "You. These," he pinched my nipple playfully; the small hurt shot pleasure straight to my belly. "That you're letting me do this."

I laughed again, running my hands through the short stubble of his hair; it tickled. "I'm a little amazed that you want to do this."

Adam looked at my quizzically. "Why wouldn't I?"

"Most guys don't," I offered, suddenly feeling stupid for admitting my insecurities to a virtual stranger, even if we were practically naked together. "I mean, I'm not the type of girl that guys typically go for."

"Why the hell not?" Adam's voice was gruff; he sounded almost mad.

"Well, I'm short, and I have glasses and freckles, and well..." my voice trailed off uncertainly; under Adam's scrutiny I felt a little foolish. "I'm not exactly the tall, blonde stunning type."

Adam snorted rudely; the sound made me smile sheepishly. "Look Lilly, I don't want to hear another word about it. The second I saw you at Mac's I wanted you. So what if you don't look like that Rhiannon friend of yours? Some guys really don't mind that, present company included. In fact, I'm glad you don't look like her; I told you I have an unholy weakness for redheads. And I was right about your breasts…"

I laughed as his voice wavered and he palmed my breasts and proved his point; the heat of his hands was amazing. "So now what?" I asked breathlessly.

"Now I take off those cute little panties of yours," Adam growled lowly, the look on his face mischievously sexy. He picked me up with a lightening quick swoop and dropped me unceremoniously on the bed, ignoring my gasp of surprise at finding my feet off the ground. My panties were off faster than they'd ever been, and I had to throw back my head and laugh at the craziness of it all. Adam shucked off his jeans with a dramatic flourish and I tried not to stare at the promising bulge in his bright red boxer shorts.

"You're gorgeous," he purred as he crawled up the length of the bed to position himself between my thighs. "I want to see every inch of you."

I was nervous, more nervous than I could ever remember being with a guy, but Adam's touch was gentle as he spread my legs and he held my gaze for a moment before he

lowered his dark head to my auburn curls.

"Adam," I squealed with shock as his tongue met my wetness; it had been so long I'd almost forgotten how good it felt. "Oh my God!"

"Want me to stop?" Adam asked concernedly from his snug position between my legs.

  "I didn't say that," I gasped, half-scared to continue, half-scared to stop.

Adam chuckled and the warmth of his breath against my dampness sent a shiver straight through me. "Whatever you want Lilly; that's what I'll give you."

I let the offer settle into my much fevered brain. I wanted him: that much was obvious. And what I wanted was pretty obvious too; if he didn't put his mouth on my again I was going to scream and when I told him so the look on his face was priceless.

His growl of pleasure was a deep rumble in his chest, and I couldn't keep air in my lungs when he complied; I moaned loudly and propped myself on my elbows to watch as Adam took his obvious enjoyment from me.

Enthusiastic and skilled; and I didn't want him to ever stop. The frantic lash of his tongue against me pulled me ever closer to the edge, and Adam knew every trick to get me there quickly.

My orgasm was a wondrous rush of sensation and noise; it took me a little more than a moment for reality to sink back in.

  "Uh? Adam?"

His dark head popped up from between my legs, I giggled at the wicked grin on his face.

  "Yes?"

"Do you think you could take those boxers off now?" My voice wobbled.

Adam's smile was electric and he obliged me with swiftness while I sat back, open mouthed.

Bingo. I grinned like an idiot.

"What?" Adam looked worried and this time it was me smiling at his groundless insecurities.

"Nothing," I smiled coyly. I reached from him, wrapping my fingers eagerly around his scalding length; we moaned in unison.

"It's not nothing," Adam ground out petulantly through clenched teeth as I acquainted myself with him.

"No, it's not," I giggled, testing his girth with my small hands. "It's lovely."

Adam snorted. "Lovely? Don't think I've ever heard it called that before."

"Can I be honest?" I asked, enjoying every twitch and moan Adam made as I stroked him; he nodded wordlessly. "I was a little worried it would be pierced or tattooed."

Adam's chuckle was coupled with a groan. "Sorry, haven't gone that crazy yet. Do you not like the tattoos?"

"I wasn't sure at first," I confessed. I traced one curving black line over his broad shoulder. "But I think they're beautiful; sexy too."

Adam reached forward and caressed the rounded swell of my hips; I hadn't realized how much I'd missed his touch until I felt it again. "I'm glad you like them," Adam smiled slowly as my touch grew more ardent. He tilted his head back and groaned loudly; I grinned.

"I think you'd better stop," Adam gasped, halting my attention with his long fingers. "This is nice, but it wasn't what I had in mind."

"What did you have in mind?" I laughed, amazed that I could sound so flirtatious; an hour with Adam and I felt like a new woman. Adele and Rhiannon had been right: he was exactly what I needed.

"You." Adam leaned in and licked my nipple; I giggled. "Me." He ran a line of kisses up to my neck, biting softly. "Some very naughty positions." I could feel his lovely erection pressing against my thigh; I sighed happily. "And about four hours," Adam's voice was low and quiet in my ear. "What do you say Lilly?"

Every bit of me was trembling and there was a blazing heat in my belly which was completely new to me. My breathing came out harshly and sounded very loud in my quiet bedroom. I nodded, my throat too dry to speak; I felt once more like I was floating outside of myself watching this crazy thing happen to some other lucky girl.

"Good," Adam growled reaching for my curls, running his fingers through the wetness he found there. "I want you so badly."

I smiled through the fog of my arousal, all thought focussed on the small bud of my clitoris, which Adam stroked slowly. I could feel the rushing build-up of another orgasm approach.

"Please," I whimpered, writhing under Adam's practiced touch. "Please."

Adam leaned forward, covering me with the solid weight of his body; my hands clung automatically to his shoulders, fingernails digging into the swirling lines that painted them. "Please what, Lilly?" he asked huskily, biting the soft edge of my ear. I shivered.

One glance in his brilliant green eyes told me Adam was as anxious as I was, as turned on; yet he'd left the decision up to me. I could feel the solid heat of his erection resting against my curls; impatiently I wig
gled against it and was rewarded with a sharp intake of breath from Adam.

"Please Adam," I whispered, my voice wavering with a combination of nerves and excitement. "Fuck me, please?"

His answer wasn't a word so much as a growl; swiftly he angled his hips as I spread my thighs further apart. When he plunged deeply into me we both moaned loudly. I clutched his shoulders so hard I wouldn't have been surprised if I drew blood.

"Oh my God," I groaned, feeling every inch of him move within me; it had been way too long, but even my excellent memory couldn't conjure up a past experience this good.

Adam paused, rising up on his strong arms to watch me from above as he found a rhythm which made us both groan. "You feel so amazingly good," he murmured, watching me as I watched him. "You have no idea."

I laughed, relishing each deep drive he made, loving the way it felt when he pulled back again. I knew my orgasm was close and there didn't seem to be any sign of Adam slowing down any time soon. I was starting to think he was just about perfect.

"Adam," I gasped, unsure of what I wanted to say but knowing I had to say something.

"Lilly," he rumbled deeply in his throat.

  "I- think I'm going to…"

Adam increased his pace and I wailed loudly as my orgasm crashed brightly against the back of my eyelids.

"Good girl," he purred, not letting up on his tempo; I could feel my muscles contract wildly around his hardness and wondered vaguely what it felt like from his point of view.

"I think it's your turn," I murmured, wrapping my legs more securely around him, feeling him go that much deeper.

Adam chuckled. "I think so too. I wanted this to take longer." He looked sheepish.

I smiled, reaching up to stroke the dark lines criss-crossing over his arms. "Next time."

Adam lowered his head to my neck, biting roughly as he drove harder into me. "You mean I get to do this again?"

"Yes please," I gasped, finding it suddenly hard to breathe.

"Wait," Adam groaned, and he rolled on his back, taking me with him. I sat upright, the sudden change in altitude making my head spin. My weight settled me down further on Adam and we moaned in unison. "That's better," he teased, reaching to play with my distended nipples. "I like that view."

The feeling of his hands on my breasts rushed straight to my loins, the tingle of my last orgasm had died away and was quickly being replaced by the next one.

I couldn't believe how much better it was being on top, watching as Adam's green eyes widened with disbelief of his own. I threw back my head and laughed, riding him for all it was worth.

"Sweet God, Lilly," Adam ground out through clenched teeth. "Remind me to thank whoever taught you that."

His grip on my breasts tightened and my breathing grew more ragged, interspersed with noises I don't think I'd ever made before. I wanted to reply, to tell him it had never been like this with anyone else, but my mouth and brain had stopped communicating with each other. Instead I rose and fell steadily, urging him with my body when the words wouldn't come.

I was aware of every pulse of his body when Adam peaked, could feel every inch of him inside me as he emptied himself; my own muscles contracted and throbbed and our cries echoed each other. I slumped down, my head in the crook of Adam's neck; the dark stubble across his jaw scratched my forehead.

Adam wrapped his arms around me, holding me in place against the dampened warmth of his chest. The ripples subsided slowly before eventually dying away and still the two of us were silent.

"Should I go?" Adam asked roughly after a time.

I drifted back slightly from the edge of sleep on which I was balanced. He was warm and solid and I didn't want to move. "No," I Mombled drowsily.

Adam kissed the top of my head, shifting his weight so I slid down to nestle against his side. I was vaguely aware of the slowing of his breathing as he followed me into sleep.

  ********

When I woke the next morning, lazy and replete, Adam was gone. There was a hollow gnawing in the pit of my stomach until I found the note he'd left on my bedside table.

Working the lunch shift. Pick you up at 3. I owe you one. A.

Turning, I buried my head in the warmth of my pillow and smiled.

  Chapter Three

The phone rang not long after I got out of the shower. Hastily, I threw on my robe and answered, strangely disappointed to be greeted by Rhiannon's bright hello.

"Is he still there?" she hissed softly as if afraid he'd hear her.

"No," I laughed, feeling guilty for wishing she was someone else calling. "He had to work."

Rhiannon's giggle was infectious and reminded me sharply of how little we'd really changed since our university days. "Did you…? I mean, how was it?"

"Yes and amazing," I supplied laughingly.

  "Omigod," Rhiannon squealed. "Details!"

I shook my head even though she couldn't see me over the phone. "I think I want to keep this to myself for a while."

There was a silent pause on the other line. "That good huh?" Rhi asked after a time.

I laughed. The warm feeling in my belly hadn't dissipated yet and somehow I knew sharing every little detail with Rhiannon, even if she was my best friend, would lessen the experience. What happened between Adam and me deserved to stay between us.

"He's picking me up at three," I said instead.

  "For what?" Rhi asked.

  "I… I don't know," I admitted sheepishly. "The note didn't say."

"Note?" Rhiannon's voice was edged with hesitation. "He left a note?"

"Yeah," I said slowly. "It said he had to work and that he'd come back and pick me up at 3."

There was another pregnant pause. "O-kay…," Rhiannon drawled slowly.

"What?" I didn't like the uncertainty in Rhi's tone.

"Well Lilly…," she sighed. "I don't want to upset you or sound like a bitch, but take it from me they all have to work the next morning; they all leave a note."

Comprehension dawned on me. "You don't think he's coming back?" I sounded accusatory.

"Well, it's possible he might," Rhi offered quickly. "But honey, I think you need to be prepared for the possibility that he might not. Did he leave a number?"

"No," I admitted, feeling small. I didn't even know which restaurant he worked at, never mind his last name. "I've got to go," I Mumbled.

"Lilly, sweetheart," Rhi crooned. "It's okay. You can't take this personally. You got what you wanted and he… well… I guess he got the same thing. Trust me honey, that's how this game is played. You can't get your hopes up over these things. Now you have a good story to tell at Girls' Night; I'm proud of you for thinking outside your usual box. You did have fun last night, right?"

"Yes," I said softly. My stomach was turning in somersaults and it had nothing to do with the beer I'd consumed the night before. For an instant I hated Rhiannon; this had been her idea. I'd approached Adam at her urging and it was her damn fault.

"Just take a nice long shower, have a cup of coffee, and take it easy today," Rhi offered brightly. "I'll call you later and maybe we can go shopping or something."

I agreed automatically, feeling a wave of shame wash sickeningly over me. I hung up as Rhiannon was saying goodbye and had to sit down until the dizziness passed.

She was right, of course. Rhiannon had had a million one-night-stands, she knew the protocol; I knew nothing about it and had been taken for a fool. I buried my head in my hands, ignoring the cold spread of my still-damp hair against my neck. Stupid, that's what I was. Stupid for thinking last night meant anything, stupid for believing every word that came out of Adam's mouth. Stupid for thinking there had been a connection between us when all it had been was a hook-up, plain and simple.

The phone rang again, making me jump. I stared blankly at it and let it ring until the answering machine picked up and Adele's cheerful voice filled the room. I didn't hear what she said, didn't particularly care; it w
asn't him calling.

I put on a pot of coffee, got dressed, and performed the many little pieces of my morning routine which needed to be done with a robot-like efficiency which frightened me if I thought too hard about it.

I floated through the apartment unseeingly before settling down on my window seat with my coffee to watch the traffic trickle by. Lucy Maud, my cat, jumped up and curled herself comfortingly around my feet and the two of us watched the morning in silence. I was tired, my thighs ached, and I was maybe a tiny bit hungover, but more than that I was heartsore. Outside, two robins flirted and sang on a tree branch; inside, I tried to block out their happy noise.
