“The Eye of Longfellow!” Sophia cried out in alarm. She looked at Logan and said, “I thought you said your grandmother’s necklace only allowed you to see when a vampire of your family’s line was about to attack a human! You and Peter were the last of your family line! How can we be seeing this? Did Peter have a son?”

Logan shook his head. “A vampire is considered to be of the Longfellow line if he was created by being bitten by a Longfellow. This vampire must be one of the ones Peter created!”

“Can we stop him?” Michelle and Clyde cried out together, pushing past the stunned officiate who was rendered speechless with shock. He took one look at the four people surrounding him, noticed that three of them had the dead-white skin and sharp fangs of a vampire and fainted right onto the floor.

Logan ignored him and said to his friends, “The necklace only shows vampires in a very small circumference of vision, so he must be nearby! If you hurry, you can stop him from hurting the boy!”

Sophia grabbed her ring and said, “Fit the missing jewel into the empty setting on the necklace and you will be instantly transported to that location!”

“Not so fast!” Logan said, removing the necklace from around his new bride’s neck first. He kissed her lovingly. “We don’t want you transported there along with them. Michelle and Clyde can handle this vampire on their own. We have more important matters to attend to.”

She knew that Logan’s grandmother had a potion that would make the officiate forget all that he had seen that night and helped him administer it to the man, and then took him home, where he would wake up as if nothing had ever happened. By the time they returned to Longfellow Castle, Michelle and Clyde were already back and cheerfully reported that the boy had been saved and the guilty vampire had renewed his vow to stay away from humans now that he knew he was indeed being watched by Logan as he had promised.

“I think it’s time we considered changing our honeymoon,” Sophia said to Logan, with a mischievous-looking smile.

Logan looked at her curiously. “I’m happy to change our honeymoon any way you desire, but I thought you said you weren’t worried about your job, so why do you want to change it?”

“Oh, I’m not worried about my job, so I think we might want to make our honeymoon even longer than just a month,” Sophia said.

“Even longer? Where do you want to go?” Logan’s eyes flew open wide with happy surprise.

Sophia grinned. “A lot of vampires were released out into the world the night we fought Peter. I have a feeling they could all use some reminding that they’re being watched and need to remain accountable for their actions. It would be an unforgettable and exciting way to spend our honeymoon. What do you say?”

Logan kissed his new bride. “Anytime I’m with you, it’s unforgettable; but I have to agree your plan sounds great. We couldn’t do it alone, though.”

The newlyweds looked over at their friends and saw that Michelle and Clyde were in full agreement. Hand in hand, the four new vampire hunters set out on a quest to track down all the vampires of the Longfellow Line, till death do they part.
