  “You loved me that day.” Cain kept the joke going.

  Miriam decided to fill them in as Flannery came back to her seat. They laughed and threw more jokes at me, and I did my best to try to ignore them. It didn’t work. And I didn’t care.

  Fuckers.

  Family.

  And I wouldn’t change that for anything.
