‘He knew me,’ John said very seriously. ‘He would have thought I betrayed my profession.’
‘Whereas only now can your profession come to full bloom,’ she insisted, boldly and with truth.
‘Oh Sarah, Sarah, I adore you!’ he whispered. ‘I shall love you and you only, to the end of my days.’
