Only To Me (Secrets of the Past)
Page 11
He dropped his head and exhaled loudly.
“What happened to you while I was gone?”
I could feel the anger rising in his voice so I stepped away and sat at his side. Without me in his hold his fist clenched into tight fist, and his jaw flexed as tried to hold his tongue.
“If he did anything to you Anna, I swear I’ll hunt that son of bitch to the end of the earth, and bite his head off myself.”
His voice came out low and harsh through his clenched teeth. I grabbed his hand and kissed his palm.
“The past is the past Christian, I have you now and that’s all that matters. I thought I had lost you and I vowed I couldn’t be with him, but now that I have you, that’s all I need, that’s all I want.”
I kissed his hand again, when I felt the tension easing from his body. He was calming down and that’s how I needed him. An angry Christian wouldn’t do anyone any good and in our world anger could cloud your better judgment.
I relaxed on the bed and threw my legs into his lap.
“How about a foot message.”
He smiled at my attempt to lighten the mood and begin rubbing my feet. I closed my eyes and let the weight of my body sink into the bed.
Chapter 19: Lovers and Dreamers
I was burning up, and I wanted to be touched. From behind me I could feel his lips on the back of my neck as we swayed slowly from side to side to our own music. His hard body was pressed against mines as one hand caressed my breast and the other wrapped around my stomach. I placed my hands on his, and followed his every move. In the heat of the moment his hands were all over me and the white satin slip shifted with each move. His hand crept slowly down my leg making its way to my gap. With a quick motion I turned to stop the next move only to jump awake from my sleep. I forcefully threw the blanket off me. My body was burning up and sweat rolled down my arms.
This wasn’t the first time Eric’s presence hijacked my dreams, since we last saw him, but that was a skeleton I kept in my personal closet. I was fuming from the thought of his hands on me, and the fact that my body betrayed me and enjoyed the wet dream. I ran my hands up my arms to wipe away the sweat. I figured a shower would ease my mind and allow me to forget about what was happening to me.
It was still dark outside, so little light showed through the room. The alarm clock read 5:27. I knew the sun would be up soon so I eased my way to the restroom. I felt unbelievably tired, as if a weight was holding me down. I turned the shower nozzle to run more cold water than hot, and stepped into the shower. If I was a frying pan, steam would surely bubble and sizzle from the heat I was giving off.
I didn’t feel like me anymore. I absolutely had no idea what was wrong with me, it was as if my body was sending me subtle warnings. I showered and let the water run over my skin until my fingers were pruned and wrinkled. I wrapped the towel around me and stepped into the room. To my surprise Christian was hunched over sitting on the bed in his pajama pants. His elbows rested on his thighs, his hands were clasped together under his chin, and he stared down at the floor. He didn’t move as I inched closer to him
“I can feel everything you feel Anna.”
He didn’t bother to look at me as he spoke, so I eased my way between his legs to stand in front of him. Instead of taking me in, he stood up and I stepped back to give him space. I wanted to cry, I knew if my own emotions were bothering me this much, then Christian feeling what I felt was heartbreaking. I stepped back a bit further and leaned against the wall. My heart was beating against my chest so cruel I wanted to throw up. It wasn’t fast or unnerving but solid and heavy. I wrapped my arms around myself, as if the hold of my grip could comfort me enough to breath. Christian stood in front of me, and placed his hands on the walls. He looked at me with his blue eyes as if searching for something before speaking.
“I can feel every nightmare… every fear, and every Goddamn time he appears in your dreams Anna.”
He growled a bit at the end of the sentence but I couldn’t focus on his anger. I tried to push him away from me to escape his eyes but was lightly pushed against the wall. I was surprised when his hands grabbed my face and his lips crashed into mines. Instinctively I kissed him back for a moment before pushing him away.
“What are you doing, you should be upset with me”
He took a step closer to me grabbing my hips and lightly pushing me against the wall.
“I”
He kissed my cheek
“Could”
He kissed my neck, and I sloped back a bit to give him further access.
“Never”
He kissed my collar bone, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.
“Be upset with you.” As he finished the sentence he grabbed my thighs and hoisted me up around his waist. Our lips crashed into each other again, and I tugged at his hair. There was no need for him to use his hands to hold my weight so he ran them up and down my body.
He kissed my neck again as his hands released my towel. I didn’t object to his swift movements, I wanted him, and I wanted him bad.
“Is this ok Anna.” He asked in between kisses, and I closed my eyes with fear and anticipation.
“I’m ready Christian. I want you to know it will always be you.” My voice was hoarse with pleasure, and came out as a seductive whisper. In a swift motion the towel was on the floor and we were on the bed.
I opened my eyes and noticed his pants were already off. One hand caressed my hair, while the other kept his massive size from crushing me. He placed gentle kisses on my chin before looking into my eyes. I placed my arms around his neck in approval, and brought my lips to his. In the midst of our kiss I could feel him enter me, and a light gasp escaped my lips. I could feel both pain and pleasure as he gently stroked, in and out of me.
We sat in the tub together as Christian nestled me against his chest.
“Are you ok, I didn’t hurt you did I.”
He spoke softly and smoothly behind me. I kissed his hand, before shaking my head no. I leaned back into him and closed my eyes reminiscing about what had just occurred only an hour ago. I smiled at the tender memory. He was a gentle giant, and aside from the soreness I was happy. Losing my virginity before marriage was definitely not planned but I was ok knowing that it was Christian, and we would be together.
Chapter 20: Dark Figure
The sun begin peeking through the trees so we decided it was time to get out the tub. Christian turned the shower on and the warm water ran over our bodies. He lathered the towel and begin washing my back. I flicked water back towards him and he grabbed me around the waist playfully biting at my ear. I turned to face him and he kissed me causing me to press against the cold tile.
I grabbed his waist and pulled him closer to me.
“I knew you couldn’t get enough of me.” He joked, and I flipped him so that I was the one dominating our actions. I pushed him into the tile, kissed him, and pressed my breast against his chest. He was getting aroused and I chuckled.
“On the contrary, I think it’s you who can’t get enough of me.”
I stepped back and looked at his wet, and heavenly figure. He gestured towards his erect penis.
‘Seriously Anna, that’s totally unfair.”
I chuckled and stepped back into his arms, allowing our tongues to dance. My wet hair swayed against my butt, as his fingers caressed my scalp, and my fire and ice returned.
He quickly released me when the bedroom door opened and Amarogs voice floated to us in the bathroom. Although he stood at the bedroom door he didn’t have to speak loudly for us to hear him.
“Couldn’t wait till the wedding huh.” He chuckled, as Christian shook his head, and I blushed embarrassed.
“I’ll be out soon Uncle.”
The door closed soon after and Christian looked at me
“Don’t worry, we’ll pick up where we left off later.”
With a quick wink he left me in the shower and entered the room. I continued to let the water run over my body as I w
ashed myself.
Christian was gone, so I quickly dried myself and braided my hair into a thick braid. I grabbed a short sleeve black tea dress that fell mid-thigh and paired it with black canvas pimsolls before dressing and bouncing down the stairs. A group of sentinels, Lucas, and Mr. Alexander were in the dining room, so I greeted them and made my way to the kitchen. Sara happily prepared breakfast with the help of Charlotte and my mother. I greeted everyone cheerfully and grabbed a slice of bacon.
“Ah, ah, ah, there is something different about you little girl.” Charlotte mused out loud.
I blushed and sat at the table.
“Where’s Christian.” I asked before she could embarrass me and out my secret.
“He and Amarog are in a meeting.”
“Isn’t it a bit early for business” I questioned chewing the last bit of bacon.
“You know how men are when it comes to business.” Charlotte shrugged “I can’t hold Alexander’s attention when his mind is on the shop. I looked at the wall clock. It was only 7:45 and the sun was still settling into the sky. I decided against going to his office and decided a walk through the garden would settle my mind. I couldn’t get the thought of last night off my mind. I ran my fingers over my cheek and down my neck as I thought about his touch. The sun was warm against my skin and the view of the world in my eyes, at this very moment, was breathtaking. I didn’t think it was possible to fall harder for Christian than I already had, but us becoming one quickly changed that. I strolled slowly through the garden until the house disappeared from my immediate sight. I was lost in my world of love, and nothing could change that.
When I saw the dark figure, eyeing me, my heart skipped a beat, and fear careened through my body. I was stuck, unable to move, or yell for help. Eric stood no more than ten feet away and I was directly in his sight. I took a step back and he threw his hands up in front of him in a cautious way.
Before he could take a step, Christian jumped in between us, and relief washed over me. He was in his massive wolf form, and low growls rumbled from his chest. I was sure he would kill him, right then and there. I honestly wouldn’t have objected. Our time together was still fresh, and it was being threatened by the monster who vowed I would be his. I was sure he wouldn’t stop until he had his revenge, and he was here to kill Christian.
“I’m not here with malicious intent.” He said taking a step forward causing Christian to snarl. “If I wanted a fight, I wouldn’t be here in my human form. I have information I think you may be interested in.”
I was still in the same spot behind Christian listening to what Eric was saying. I couldn’t believe he was here, in front of us, offering information. I hadn’t noticed the woman who approached me from behind until her hand raised and Eric was thrown back across the garden with an invisible force. He tried to stand but with a flick of her hand, he flipped across the grass. The woman was middle aged and beautiful. She had straight, brown hair and big dark eyes. She was young but biologically could be the mother of a grown teenager. She wore a long dark bohemian style dress, a light blue jean vest, and caramel brown pumps with a small heel. She was a small woman, but obviously powerful.
“Why are you here?” She demanded, and the accent of her voice came out thick with a Spanish tongue.
He coughed a bit and spit a small amount of blood from his mouth as he sat on the ground slapping the dirt from his hands.
“Nice to see you to Ariadna.”
“Answer the question, Eric.”
I was obviously missing something. I didn’t know who this woman was and why the two spoke to each other informally. She stood beside Christian and in front of me, as Christian huffed defensively.
“You of all people should know why I’m here Ari.”
Christian shifted back to his human form, and faced me.
“Go to the house Annalise.” He demanded
“I’m not leaving you.”
I’m sure my bold and discomforting demeanor caught him off guard, but I couldn’t deny the fight in me. I wouldn’t stand by as everything I loved was threatened.
“Annalise I’m begging you, go inside, I can handle this.”
“No, Christian.”
I was determined not to leave and I made that clear by the low growl that came from my throat. He huffed again at my defiance before turning back to Eric.
“I’m tired of your games, why have you returned.”
“Maybe you should ask Ariadna” he said tilting his head “she seems to be keeping a few secrets from you.”
Christian snarled.
“You are no brother of mine mongrel.”
“You know, Christian, I’ve learned quite a bit in my absence, and I think you’ll be quite interested in what I have to say.”
“Speak.” He demanded of Eric but he continued to leave us all in suspense.
“How about we move to a more formal setting…and you put on some clothes.
“How about you to tell me what you know before I kill you.”
I was growing tired of this entire conversation and interceeded Eric’s answer.
“You are not welcome here, so get on with your information and leave.”
He took a daring step forward at the boldness of my voice, and glowered at me.
“That’s far enough Eric.” The lady called Ari spoke as she raised her again to threaten him.
He huffed and clear his throat.
“I’m not here to cause trouble, I only ask that you invite me in for a drink before I proceed.” He cocked his head to the side a arrogantly. “If not then I believe I have just wasted my time, coming here.”
When no one answered, he turned and was about to depart.
“Wait.” Christian said defeated, and turned back to us with a smile.
Christian looked at me and mumbled a silent apology. I couldn’t be upset with him I was just as curious, and I knew that as Alpha, sometimes unwanted sources could save your life. He walked up to me and kissed my temple before whispering in my ear.
“I promise he’ll be gone by nightfall.”
I nodded my head and he looked at Ari.
“Take him to Amarog, we’ll meet you inside.”
She looked at Eric and scowled.
“You must have an angel by your side.”
He smiled and walked towards us. In passing he smirked at me.
“You’re looking quite radiant today Anna.”
I blushed, and Christian growled. Christian pulled me closer to him, wrapping his arm around my waist. We walked behind Ari and Eric into a side entrance because of Christian’s nudity. The rest of the house had no idea Eric was here and for the time being we decided it would stay that way until his departure.
Chapter 21: Mate For a Mate
We made our way through the dark hallway that led straight to Christian’s office. Inside, Amarog was still in the office. He didn’t react to our entrance and continued to stare out the window. Eric made himself comfortable on the burgundy chair, and Ariadna walked to Amarog and placed her hand on his back. They spoke quietly for a brief moment, before she turned to look at Christian. I stayed by Christian’s side as he pulled his black denims up. I stood behind him and wrapped my arms around myself. I could feel Eric’s eyes watching me intently so I was careful not to look in his direction.
“Before we proceed, Ariadna, this is Annalise, Anna, Ari.”
She quickly walked towards me and grabbed me in a hug.
“I have been waiting a long time to meet you young lady.”
I didn’t know who she was so I had no idea why she was so excited to meet me. But before I could respond to her gesture Eric spoke sarcastically.
“Whenever you two are done making love over there, we can get to more important matters.”
We both scoffed offended and Christian shot him death glare.
“Watch yourself Eric, you’re still an unwelcomed guest here, and….
“And yeah, yeah you won’t hesitate to kill me” He interrupted.
Have you ever thought to ask yourself why I would risk my life to come back here Christian?”
Ariadna slapped her hands on the desk, and Eric jumped up in defense.
“Don’t do this Eric, not now.”
“He has a right to know Ari. You’ve been a sneaky little cow, and since I have a natural right to be Alpha just as much as he does, I think it’s time he found out the truth.
She sighed in frustration, as Christian and I stared bewildered at the conversation.
“What is he talking about Ari.” He asked with a low growl.
She placed her fingers on the bridge of her nose and sighed. Amarog looked at Ari, and nodded. I stared uncertain at what I was hearing, and Christian’s voice rose again with a low growl.
“Somebody better start talking, NOW.” We both looked at Ari but she turned towards the mini bar, obviously needing a drink. The tension in the room was so thick it was almost palpable.
“These are the people you trust as your counsel.” Eric scoffed. “It seems your aunt has been keeping secrets from you Christian, and to make a long story short Silas Ravini.”
“Don’t you dare say my father’s name!” Christian’s hostility was growing and everyone could feel it. Standing right behind him, I could feel the heat of his body as hot as the sun on a summer day. The only thing between him and Eric was the desk, and based on the heat of his body, Christian could attack at any moment.
“As I was saying, Silas Ravini was not the honorable man you thought him to be.”
Christian jumped over the desk so quickly neither of us saw it coming. In a flash he had Eric pinned against the wall by his neck. Amarog grabbed him forcefully and pulled him back.
“Calm down, it isn’t worth son.”
Eric stayed against the wall apologetically.
“I didn’t mean to offend you brother, as much as I hate to admit it, he was my father too.
Christian broke free from Amarogs grip, and turned to look at him.
“DID YOU KNOW?”
“I suspected as much. Isabelle never said, so I couldn’t be sure.”
Christian punched the wall, which caused a crack in the stone.
