You’ll have to read the book to find out what I mean by that.

  Introduction

The first four volumes in this series are available in two flavors—the Luke Young books, which are contemporary romance and the Ian Dalton books which are erotic romance. The Ian versions contain more explicit language and scenes and are each about 10% longer than their Luke counterparts. Starting with book five and now in book six, I’ve decided to release just one version with Ian Dalton expanded scenes included. In this combined edition, you can either choose to read the expanded more explicit scenes or skip them.

With either version you’ll get the same amount of drama, romance and comedy, but by reading the Ian scenes you’ll get a bit more of the erotic play-by-play. When you reach one of them you’ll find a note, which reads—“Click here to skip over the Ian Dalton expanded scene.” Either read on or simply click to easily move to the next chapter— it’s your choice. Please note that the Ian scenes are filled with more explicit language and sex, and are not for everyone— by skipping them you are missing none of the story.

I’m really excited to be bringing you this sixth book in the series. It’s been more than a year since I last wrote about this crazy, fun and amazing group of characters who share far too much with one another. In fact, no dare or topic of conversation is taboo with this close-knit group.

I’ve really missed them and hope you have too. But if you don’t know the gang, you don’t necessarily need to read all the earlier stories to enjoy this volume since I’ve included a summary of the other books below. Even for those who have read them all, this summary is a great recap.

Book 1 - Friends With Partial Benefits

Jillian Grayson is nearly forty and has a big problem. She’s a best-selling romance novelist who suddenly can’t write a chapter without her hunky male heartthrob suffering E.D., an S.T.D. or even worse. And it’s all because a cheating husband, messy divorce and a string of bad dates since then, has left her uninspired, jaded and creatively blocked.

Brian Nash is a twenty-six year old college senior, an avid tennis player, unlucky in love and the roommate and best friend of Jillian’s son Rob. He’s dating an ex-ballet dancing co-ed, named Natalie, who can keep one leg on the floor while the other is pointed straight to the ceiling and she can hold it there for as long as necessary… She has him wrapped around her finger and she likes it. After Natalie breaks his heart, Brian agrees to accompany Rob home to Miami for a much-needed break from pining over his super-flexible dream girl.

Once they reach Miami, Rob is sidetracked by his long-time girlfriend Laura’s unexpectedly demanding carnal needs. Left to fend for himself, Brian is immediately attracted to Rob’s surprisingly young, beautiful, smart and available mother who’s just as much a tennis nerd as he. Jillian is smitten with the brokenhearted tennis player as well, and therein finds new inspiration to write. Their attraction grows on and off the court and fighting it becomes more and more challenging.

After nearly giving in to their feelings, the horny pair decide during a marijuana-induced discussion, that they just can’t be together. They hatch a plan to be FRIENDS WITH PARTIAL BENEFITS with three seemly perfect rules to define the boundaries. They spend one amazing night exploring the possibilities, but with the next morning comes the clarity that a F.W.P.B. relationship, although really, really fun, is a really bad idea.

When Brian and Laura discover Rob and Natalie have been sneaking around behind their backs they both go ballistic. After Brian’s macho reaction, Natalie sees him in a newly confident light and she begs him to take her back. Upon returning to school together, Brian discovers Natalie is somewhere between a spoiled brat and psychotic, and he sneaks back to Jillian to see if they still have a chance.

Victoria Wilde is Jillian’s same-aged best friend who’s been alone since the tragic loss of her husband to a brain tumor two years earlier. It wasn’t until she discovered her husband was cheating behind her back that she found the courage to move on and in the process develops a live-life-to-the-fullest, wild and sexually adventurous attitude.

  Urged
on by Victoria, Jillian lets go and behind her son’s back, begins a torrid love affair with the man thirteen years her junior— one that exceeds both their expectations. After graduating, Brian returns to Miami and asks Jillian to marry him. Book one ends with Jillian pondering that question.

Book 2 - Friends With Full Benefits

As Victoria sets her sights on her first monogamous relationship in more than two years, Jillian struggles to find the right time to break the news to her son about her secret romance to his best friend, Brian. When Victoria’s new man isn’t up to the challenge, she’s sent into a mild depression and when Rob’s mother’s secret literally slaps him in the face, he’s devastated and the two fall into bed together on a lonely night.

Brian has his own issues introducing Jillian to his off-the-wall, super-strict parents. During a trip home, Brian’s parents don’t attempt to hide their contempt for the older woman pursuing their firstborn son. In desperate need of a break from the insanity, Brian and Jillian escape with Brian’s younger and innocent brother, Jim, on an overnight trip to Atlantic City. Jim’s lucky both in and out of the casino, and his purity ends up being the only thing in the red. Returning to the Nash residence, the three discover an eye-opening secret about the Nash parents that sends them all scurrying back to Miami. Once there, Victoria, who’s in desperate need of a casual relationship, finds Jim to be just what the doctor ordered. But when Jim comes on a little too seriously Victoria sends him back to college with instructions to forget all about her.

Jillian agrees to marry Brian. She also completes her new romance novel based on the true events of her relationship with Brian and his wacky experiences with the off-the-wall Natalie. Told by her agent that she has the necessary legal clearances to do so, she releases her book and moves forward planning a dream destination wedding in St. Barts.

When Victoria develops second thoughts over her dismissal of Jim’s feelings, she visits him at college and finds he’s head-over-heels in love with Caroline, the girl he met in Atlantic City. On the plane ride home, Victoria feels sick, both mentally and physically, and discovers she’s pregnant. Book two ends with Victoria unsure if the father is Jim or Rob while still harboring the secret from Jillian that she slept with her son.

Book 3 - Friends With More Benefits

As Jillian and Brian’s wedding date nears, the blissful Jillian is only slightly bothered that her just released novel is only mildly successful. The same can’t be said for her ruthless agent, Albert, who secretly makes Natalie aware that she’s the star of the show. Hoping for publicity to drive sales of the book, he plants a bug in the ear of the super-flexible ballerina that a financial windfall might be in her future. After Natalie files a lawsuit claiming defamation and that her likeness was used without her permission, book sales sky rocket. Then in a final act of shameless publicity, Albert delivers Natalie to St. Barts to make the wedding slightly more interesting and, to ensure maximum exposure, he arranges for it all to be captured on film. Although the outdoor beach wedding is disrupted by not only the unwanted guest and a sudden rain storm, Jillian and Brian tie the knot.

When Jillian learns that not only did Victoria sleep with her son, but that he could be the father of her baby, she’s thrown for a loop. Later when the truth is revealed, everyone except Jim’s girlfriend, Caroline, is relieved to discover that Jim is the baby’s father.

After witnessing first-hand how much in love Jim and Caroline really are, Victoria considers that, along with their age difference and her inability to commit as she makes the difficult decision to push Jim away for his own good. Book three ends with Jim returning to Caroline, Victoria sobbing in a bathtub clutching her growing belly and the newlyweds giggling and looking with trepidation upon Victoria’s wedding gift— a sex swing installed in their master bedroom.

Book 4 - Friends With Extra Benefits

This volume opens with Jillian and Brian trying out the sex swing, Jim and Caroline growing even closer together and Jillian and Victoria plotting a little practical joke on Brian. (Throughout the series, Brian finds himself in a number of embarrassing situations— some of his own doing and some courtesy of the clever and imaginative Victoria.)

After a slightly embarrassing deposition where security photos of a nude Brian were threatened to be released (and there was definite shrinkage), the wacky trial begins. During the proceedings Natalie’s antics continue and include an attempt to seduce Brian, lying under oath along with a smattering of witness tampering. When the jury reaches a verdict in Natalie’s favor, but with an award much to the defenses liking, Jillian is both relieved and overjoyed.

Complications with Victoria’s pregnancy lead to Jim and Caroline returning to Miami and an early delivery for baby girl Kaylie. After Kaylie requires life-saving surgery, Victoria and Jim reach out to one another for comfort and in the process the attraction between the two of them is rekindled. Everyone is relieved when the surgery is a success and the prognosis for the baby is for a full recovery. Months pass with Victoria and Kaylie thriving while on their own and Jim and Caroline return to school to finish their senior years. The story comes to a close with Jillian and Brian watching the baby for the night and discussing having one of their own. Fueled by champagne, Victoria, Jim and Caroline grow a little too close while relaxing in the hot tub and after a crowded night of passion; Caroline slips away leaving a note and leaving the new parents to contemplate their future.

Book 5 - Friends With Way Too Many Benefits

This volume is my absolute series favorite—you’re doing yourself a disservice if you skip this book—just sayin’. But here’s the recap. The story opens with Jillian, Brian, Victoria and Jim playing a naughty game of Scrabble. Then after watching a movie starring Brian’s favorite actress, the famous Amanda Joseph, Jillian makes fun of his leading lady crush and after a comical discussion, the two agree on their celebrity free passes.

As Jim and Victoria learn to live together and raise their new baby, he proposes marriage. Then after she agrees, the two makes plans to meet to pick out a ring.

A call comes in from Jillian’s agent delivering the news that interest in adapting her novel for the screen is heating up. As luck would have it, the A-list actress Amanda Joseph is the studio’s number one choice.

As Victoria is waiting at the jewelry store for Jim to join her to pick out the ring, she receives a call that he’s been in a car accident. He’s only a little banged up, but this event along with the tragic history of her first husband’s untimely death, are screaming to her that just maybe marrying her is bad luck. Victoria calls off the wedding.

Natalie, with a new stage name and coming off her Playboy centerfold, is living in Los Angeles in the Playboy Mansion and looking to expand her horizons as an actress. Upon seeing news of Jillian’s greenlit film, she’s hell bent on doing whatever she can to win the role she was born to play. She seeks out, Paul Ford, the film’s good-looking single director and her plan begins to take shape.

Meanwhile Jillian and Brian attempt to make a baby and after months and months of failure the two seek medical help. When a disaster at the fertility clinic leaves Brian once again naked and humiliated, but this time in-front of a construction crew, the desperate pair decide to take a more relaxed approach to conception.

The film’s production begins and Natalie secures both a personal relationship with Paul and a spot as a body double on the film. After some complicated scheming she finally lands her role in the film and once Jillian finds out she, of course, goes ape shit. But when dailies of Natalie nailing her part are viewed by all the producers, even Jillian has to agree she blows away her troubled predecessor.

The gorgeous, but just a little off, Amanda Joseph shows up on set and while having trouble with her tennis trainer discovers Brian is more than up to the task. The two begin working together with Jillian’s semi-reluctant approval. This is just about the time that Jillian discovers she’s finally pregnant.

The night of the movie wrap party, Jim onc
e again asks Victoria to marry him, but he does it in such a charming way that it leaves her laughing and unable to say no. The two decide on a Vegas wedding. After the wrap party, Amanda Joseph seeks out Brian at the tennis club and she attempts to seduce him in the locker room. As Jillian stops by the club to deliver the news of their friends’ upcoming marriage, she overhears Amanda’s brazen effort to corrupt her husband. She’s moved by his impassioned rebuffing of the A-list actress as he sings the praises of his gorgeous and pregnant wife.

Book five ends with the two couples heading off to Vegas. There Victoria and Jim tie the knot and Jillian receives a call from her doctor that she’s not only expecting, she’s expecting twins! There she finds out that Rob’s girlfriend Bridget is pregnant too, and with it the bittersweet news that she’s going to be a super-young grandmother.

And now on to book six!

  1

Jillian stirred awake and glanced at Brian as he slept in the king bed in their luxurious hotel suite. She didn’t understand the appeal of sleeping in a king since he seemed so far away from her and she liked to be close. She much preferred her queen bed at home. Their feet always seemed to be touching in the morning and he has such soft, adorable feet, for a guy anyway. The previous night she learned she was pregnant with twins. She had just come to terms with the idea of one baby and now this bomb was dropped on her— two babies at her age. Wow, this was going to be a whole other thing. Sure it was a blessing, and it was going to be amazing, but she remembered how difficult Rob was when he was born. If she ended up with two Robs, she thought, well, she didn’t even want to think about it.

Taking a deep breath, she sat up in bed and let the covers fall from her naked breasts. Brian had given her that fantastic rub the previous night and they ended up going to sleep without doing it. They were just too tired and he’s never too tired to do it. It had been a long day—flying cross-country to Las Vegas to attend Victoria and Jim’s wedding. Not to mention all the drinking he had done and discovering he was going to be the father of twins, and the step-grandfather now that Rob’s girlfriend, Bridget, was also expecting. That seemed like an awful lot for a twenty-nine-year-old man to take all in one day.
