  TEACH: You got a hat?

  DON: No.

  TEACH: Do you have a piece of paper?

  DON: Bob . . . ?

  TEACH walks to counter, takes a piece of newspaper, and starts making himself a paper hat.

  TEACH: He’s all right?

  DON: Bob . . . ?

  TEACH: Is he all right?

  DON: Bob. . . ?

  BOB (waking up) : What?

  DON: Come on. We’re taking you the hospital.

  TEACH puts on paper hat and looks at self in window.

  TEACH: I look like a sissy.

  DON: Go and get your car.

  Pause.

  TEACH: Can you get him to the door?

  DON: Yeah.

  Pause.

  TEACH: I’m going to get my car.

  DON: You gonna honk?

  TEACH: Yeah.

  DON: Good.

  TEACH: I’ll honk the horn.

  Pause.

  DON: Good.

  Pause.

  TEACH: This fucking day, huh?

  DON: Yeah.

  TEACH: I know it. You should clean this place up.

  DON: Yeah.

  Pause.

  TEACH: Good. (Exits.)

  DON: Bob.

  BOB: What?

  DON: Get up.

  Pause.

  Bob. I’m sorry.

  BOB: What?

  DON: I’m sorry.

  BOB: I fucked up.

  DON: No. You did real good.

  BOB: No.

  DON: Yeah. You did real good.

  Pause.

  BOB: Thank you.

  DON: That’s all right.

  Pause.

  BOB: I’m sorry, Donny.

  DON: That’s all right.

  Lights dim.
