  “What?” Castiel said in shock.

“You take that back right now, you pathetic piece of shit. Michael wasn’t a…one of those.” He motioned his hand toward Castiel. “I said take it back!” Lucius said and pounced on Raffy’s cage.

“Or what, asshole?” Gabriel growled out. Cass, Raffy, and Lucius turned in his direction.

“Welcome to the party, big brother,” Castiel snickered.

“Wish I hadn’t drunk all the liquor though.” He sat up and grabbed his head. “My brain feels like it was sucked out through my cock and I was rode hard and hung up to dry. Damn, when did we move to a cave? And what happened to all the pretty boys? Not these ugly fuckers who wouldn’t know a pussy from an ass if you gave them a map.” Gabriel smirked and winked at Castiel, causing him and Raffy to start laughing. “I wish my mate would have warned me he wanted to get down and dirty with the whole BDSM thing. I would have loved for him to cage me up and make me his sex slave, but this is a little ridiculous. When I get my hands on his cute tight little ass, I’m going to spank it for hours until he begs me to fuck it,” Gabe continued with a mischievous smile.

Micah, Raith, Papa Angel, and Gabe all started laughing.

“Stop speaking you disgusting―” Lucius started but Gabriel cut him off.

“That’s what Michael used to say to the Hammond boy all the time when the guy would stop sucking him to talk about their feelings,” Gabriel snickered.

“Oh shit,” Raith said and laughed again.

“Don’t you dare try to blemish your brother’s good name,” Lucius spat out.

“The only good thing about Michael was his name. I’m surprised he was shot while on his knees sucking off his lover. I always thought he was too selfish to give someone else a suck. Such a waste. You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced a nice hard fucking up the ass. The things my sweet baby can do with his cock are mind blowing.” Gabriel hummed, then chuckled.

“You sound like Taylor, brother,” Castiel laughed.

“You sure fucking do, Gabe. Very nice, cousin,” Micah said and slapped him on the back.

Gabriel raised a brow at Castiel. “Oh, yeah? Thanks, I take that as a huge compliment. I’m so glad he’s rubbing off on me.” Gabe snickered. “And he does love to rub off on me, if you know what I’m saying? That mate of mine is a wildcat in bed, out of bed, in the shower, in the car. He is my heaven on earth. The things he can do with his tongue would make the gods themselves roll over and show their bellies.”

Castiel and Raffy burst out in laughter as Gabriel continued. Lucius just stared at him in horror. “Maybe that’s what you’ve been missing all your life, Luci. A nice hard fucking up the ass. Seeing as all four of your sons turned out to be gay, maybe the nuts didn’t fall too far from the dick. Is that it? Is that why you pushed us so hard to be what you think a man is supposed to be? You been hiding your homosexual tendencies your whole life, Luci? Living with such enormous sexual tension must be exhausting. Maybe Brighton and Malachi can help you with that? I know for a fact that old Brighton there loves a good cock. Maybe they can both show you all the things they did to your son for five years as they raped and tortured him?” Gabriel said the last part with a coldness so deep it could freeze Antarctica for a year as he stared his father in the eye.

Lucius stared him down with eyes filled with hatred and disgust. “How dare you speak so crudely in my presence. You ungrateful lit―”

“Ungrateful? What was I supposed to be grateful to you for? Let’s see, all the beatings you gave me? All the horrible names you called me? How about all the times you ignored me and acted like I wasn’t even there, or that you had wished I were never born? Or how about when you turned my big brother against me and tried to turn Cass against me? Am I supposed to be grateful for that? Or how about when you kept our mother locked up in her room our whole lives and never let us see her? You only used her for sex when you wanted to have another child. That poor woman spent her whole life locked in that room alone just waiting for you to come and get her pregnant. So, did she really die while giving birth to Raffy or did you kill her because you were finally done with her? Huh, Dad? And what about Raffy? Huh? Are we supposed to be grateful that you never told us we had another brother and then you abused him his whole life and then sold him to these two twats so that they could abuse him and rape him? What exactly is one thing I should be grateful to you for? Wait, I know. Thank you, Lucius. Thank you for being such a worthless father that we ran from you as fast and as far as we could. Because of that, Cass and I went on to have a great life and I was lucky enough to find my true mate and he is the most loving, most amazing man I have ever met. So, for that I am grateful to you, Lucius.” Gabriel spoke tightly.

“Good for you, son,” Papa Angel praised and squeezed Gabe’s shoulder.

“You are an abomination. You will rot in hell for the way you live—” Lucius said but was cut off by Castiel.

“We were created by the gods just the way we are, so therefore we cannot be abominations. You say we’ll rot in hell for being gay because it’s a sin, but what about all the things that you have done that goes against your Christian beliefs? The Ten Commandments and all? How many of those have you broken in your life? I believe that it is you who will spend eternity in hell for what you did to Raffy alone, not even counting what you did to Gabe or to me. And we both know what I’m talking about don’t we, Father?” Castiel said the last part with an evil look in his eyes and a sneer in his voice. Lucius straightened up as if he were slapped in the face. His face went pale and his eyes wide. He quickly covered it up and turned away.

“Do whatever you want with all of them. They are not my sons. I must leave now so I will be back at the pack in time,” he spoke tightly and exited the cave.

“I should have killed him when I had the chance. If I had, none of this would have happened,” Papa Angel said, his voice filled with anguish.

“And as Kia said, Dad, then none of us may be where we are today. Or with our wonderful mates,” Micah replied.

“I remembered then,” Cass said absently. “I said that because I had a brief flash from that day by the stream. I suddenly knew what Michael had done to us. That Lucius condoned it. But when we returned home, I forgot. How do you forget something like that?”

“Now the healing can begin. It’s time, mate,” Kia said and clasped Cass’s hand. The cave distorted and swirled, then suddenly everything went black.

  Chapter Thirteen

They had all been under for so long that Shay was starting to get worried. Hell, he started an hour ago, now he was at freaking Defcon One. Some of the others had gone back to bed, but Taylor, Jesse, Christian, and Raffy stayed. After a half an hour, they had been joined by Aaron and Rory. Every twenty minutes they kept asking the same questions. Were they okay? Why was it taking so long? And Shay kept answering the only way he could. It would take as long as it needed for them to see what they needed to see, and yes, they were all okay. He could feel all their emotions, but especially his mates. There were times when he felt each of them get extremely sad or heartbroken. Once, he felt them all fill with wonder at the same time. But the worst was the pain and anguish he could feel coming from each of them. Then there was the red hot rage that consumed Micah, Papa Angel, and Raith a time or two, that had Shay not been sitting down already, would have brought him to his knees.

A small smile came to his lips as the emotions swirled through him and he felt a great sense of pride wash over Papa Angel and Micah.

“Why are you smiling?” Rory asked.

Shay met his gaze. “Micah and Papa have filled me with a feeling of pride,” he answered honestly. Which he had no choice in even if he wanted to lie.

“What does that mean?” Aaron asked.

“I can feel each of their emotions as they have been experiencing them and right now I feel great pride from both of them.”

“What about my Gabriel? Is he okay?” Taylor was worried, biting his nails and pacing
, but he stopped to look at Shay hopefully.

“Yes. They are all okay. No harm has come to any of them. Well, not physically.”

“What the hell does that mean?” Christian asked with a growl.

“It means as I have said before, they cannot be seen or heard by anyone where they are, so they cannot be harmed in the physical sense, but the things that they may see, can hurt them emotionally, mentally.”

“Do you know if they’ll be back soon?” Jesse asked.

“I’m sorry, but no. Wait…I feel…despair, coming from Castiel, and he is ready to leave. He doesn’t want to be there anymore and I can feel Kia agreeing. I sense him wanting to pull them home.”

They stood there staring at the ones who had astral projected with Kia and entered Castiel’s dreams. After another minute, Micah, Raith, and Papa Angel’s eyes all fluttered, then slowly opened. They each looked around, their eyes guarded, but as soon as they realized they were back, that look fled and was replaced with relief, then suddenly changed to anger and sadness.

Jesse moved to Micah and wrapped his arms around him as Micah stepped back, releasing his touch on Kia. Raith did the same and opened his arms as Aaron and Rory grabbed onto him. Taylor placed a hand on Gabriel’s cheek and looked up into his face, waiting for him to return, his eyes filled with concern.

Gabriel’s eyelids twitched, then began to rise. His eyes opened and his gaze locked onto Taylor’s immediately. Taylor sobbed, and wrapped his arms around his mate, holding him tight. Gabriel slid his arms around Taylor’s waist returning the embrace, and he buried his face in Taylor’s neck as his body shook.

Shay’s eyes welled with tears as he felt the pain in Gabriel radiate off him, and Shay turned his attention to his own mates, his own worry filling him. Kia drew in a deep breath and his eyes opened. He looked around, then his gaze landed on Shay. Shay could barely breathe with the amount of sadness and pain he saw in Kia’s eyes. He was now terrified of what he would see when Castiel awakened.

Kia looked more tired than Shay had ever seen him before. His skin was ashen, he had dark circles under his eyes, and his lids looked like he was fighting hundred pound weights that were trying to close them.

Castiel moved, and Shay and Kia looked down at him at the same time. Their big mate’s lids lifted and suddenly an extremely large lump formed in Shay’s throat and he couldn’t breathe. Castiel met his gaze, then it shifted to Kia, before Castiel closed his eyes and took a deep breath, then slowly released it. Castiel sat up and rubbed his hands over his face, and as he pulled them away, his eyes opened and he saw the others in the room.

“What are you all doing in here?” Castiel whispered, but then his eyes filled with panic. He looked around at each of them before his head snapped in Kia’s direction and he looked at him imploringly.

“Castiel, son,” Papa Angel started as he took a step closer.

Castiel turned his head to meet Papa Angel’s gaze and suddenly his eyes filled with anger as understanding hit him. “No. There is no way. Do not tell me that you all were actually there.”

  “We were, son,” Papa answered.

Castiel again looked at all of them, his gaze stopping at Gabriel. Their eyes locked. Gabe gave Castiel a sad smile, and Castiel’s head snapped back in Kia’s direction. “You brought them into my dreams?” he demanded. Kia’s already worried face turned to a different kind of worry as tears filled his eyes and he nodded.

“I thought it was just dreams and they were a part of it. I didn’t realize they were actually there. Why? Why would you do that? You had no fucking right.” Castiel spat through clenched teeth.

“It was time―” Kia began but was cut off.

“You had no right! Those are my dreams and only for me to see, so stay the hell out of my head,” Castiel yelled as he pushed to the foot of the bed.

“But they weren’t dreams, mate, they were memories, and it was time to―”

“Even more of a reason for them to not be there,” Castiel sneered, his face filled with rage.

“Kia was doing what he is supposed to do, Castiel,” Shay said. “He was helping you to heal.”

“Did I ask him to? Did I ask him to bring everyone into my head like a damn freak show? Was I even given the choice, or did Kia do that all on his own?”

“Cass, you need to calm down. It’s okay, little brother,” Gabriel said calmly as he stepped closer.

Castiel’s head spun around in Gabriel’s direction and they stared at one another silently for a few minutes. “I never wanted you to know,” Castiel whispered in a broken voice.

“I know, Cass, but I needed to know. We both need to face what happened and begin to heal,” Gabe replied.

“No. You were fine, Gabe. You stood up to him and by doing that you have been able to move on with your life. But now this…no. You should have never seen that.” Castiel jumped from the bed, not concerned about his nudity.

“Castiel,” Kia whispered, the sound more of a sob.

Castiel looked back at Kia, his eyes filled with sadness. “I love you, Kia.”

Shay could see in Kia’s eyes that Castiel’s words filled him with happiness and hope, but his next words brought Kia crashing down as his eyes filled with despair. “But how can I ever trust you again?”

Castiel shifted into his large wolf and padded to the door. He pressed his nose into the wood, then pulled back, and the door popped open. The wolf pushed his snout into the small crack and used it to open the door wider. He looked back at Kia, then Shay, before running out through the door.

Christian stood and took off after him, with Papa right on his heels. Shay looked over at Kia and immediately slid closer, engulfing his other mate in his arms, holding Kia close as he began to cry.

“It’ll all be okay, Kia. I promise. I’ll make this right,” Raffy said, then stood and left the room.

“We’ll all make this right, Shay, Kia,” Micah said. “We’ll do whatever we have to do to help Cass and the both of you. I know Cass doesn’t understand yet. The wounds are too fresh now after what we just witnessed. But I know Cass, and once he has time to think everything through, he’ll be kicking himself in the ass for saying what he did. Thank you, Kia, you were right. Even if Cass can’t see that right now, you were right. We needed to know the truth. We needed to see what happened. Only hearing about it wouldn’t have been the same. We needed to see it for ourselves, to see everything that happened, hear every word that was spoken, and feel what everyone felt. We needed to see the true monsters that Lucius and Michael really were. Now we are more prepared to help Cass and Gabe heal and move on.”

  “Thank you, Micah,” Kia cried.

“I agree with Micah,” Gabe stated. “On everything he said. Cass is the most forgiving, understanding, and loving person I know. He’ll come back and beg for your forgiveness. But I would like to thank you, Kia. I didn’t remember any of that. And as you saw, most of it I had no idea was happening, but I did need to know.”

“Are you sure, Gabriel?” Kia asked.

Gabriel stared at him for a moment, then nodded and gave Kia a sad smile. “Yes. And I’ll be okay. It’ll take some time, but my sweet baby here will help me.”

“You’re damn right I will,” Taylor said and took Gabriel’s hand. “Always, my love. Come on, man of mine. Let me take you back to our room and you can tell me all about it.” The duo turned and walked from the room.

“What can we do for you?” Raith asked.

“Nothing, thank you.” Shay replied. “Right now, Kia needs to sleep. Traveling like that always takes a lot out of him, but bringing all of you with him, I’m worried it was too much on him.”

“I’m fine, Shay, but you’re right, I’m really tired.”

“We’ll go and let you two get some rest, but if you need anything, please let us know,” Jesse offered.

  “Thank you, Jesse, we will.”

Micah moved closer, his eyes full of concern. “Maybe we should stay with you. Make sure you’re
all right. Shay’s right, Kia, you look wiped out.”

Kia gave Micah a sad, watery smile. “Thank you for the offer, Micah, but I’m sure after a good eight to ten hours of solid sleep, I’ll be okay. If I shift it will be even better.”

  “Well, okay, if you’re sure.”

“I am, but thank you again.”

“All right. Come on, let’s leave them to rest. Goodnight, and thank you again, Kia,” Micah said before he took Jesse’s hand and led him out of the room. Raith and his mates followed.

Once they were alone and the door was closed, Shay turned to Kia, cupping his cheek. “Are you sure you’re okay, love? You really don’t look good.”

“Well, thanks,” Kia chuffed as he lay down.

“I don’t mean it like that and you know it. I think that journey was too much for you. You took too many in with you and you have never done that before.”

“I do think I just need some sleep, Shay.”

“And what about our mate, and what he said?”

“It hurt when he said it, but he was right. I made that decision for him and I never should have done that. I did what I did because I knew it needed to be done. I won’t apologize for it, though. Castiel never would have agreed to them witnessing what we did, but I fully believe it needed to happen for not only him, but for all of them. And I believe Micah and Gabe when they say Castiel will get over it and come back to apologize, because I know what a wonderful man he is. I saw what he did to protect those he loves and he loves us. And I know you want to know everything and talk more to make sure I’m all right, but honestly, love, I just want to shift and cuddle up with you, then sleep for, like, two days.”
