With her head resting on his chest again, she gazed dreamily through the glass doors leading to the balcony. She noticed the sun had set away from them, leaving a golden glow in its place, which meant the moon would soon begin its ascent into a clear night sky right before her eyes. How unique that they built their homes to face the direction in which the sun and moon rose. Most of the mansions she'd 235

been in had their main rooms constructed to face the sunset. She had always preferred stargazing and moonlight over the harsh light of day.
Savion's beautiful home was spacious and bright with elegant furniture upholstered in fine white linen placed throughout the rooms. Not what she'd expect from a man who drank blood from her neck. At one point she had deemed them glorified vampires. Yet knowing them, she realized that though the blood-dragons craved and fed on blood for select advantages, they were genuine souls just like her. Except for the immortal aspect—but soon she would be joining them in that area, too.

Feathery caresses on her arms woke Summer from a much-needed rest. She gazed up sleepily at Savion, who looked like he'd never left her side.
"I must have fallen asleep in your arms." A relaxed smile curved his lips. "You needed to sleep. I'm glad you were able to let down before our ceremony."
"How long have I been out?" She glanced out the door at a dark sky, brilliantly sprayed with twinkling stars.
"About five hours. It's almost midnight. Time to get you dressed." He brushed loose strands of hair from her face. "I cleaned your clothes while you slept." She frowned slightly. "Now they won't smell like you again."

"After the ritual we can take care of that." He winked mischievously. "Perhaps even finish what we started the last time I put those on for you."
"Ooo ... I like the sound of that." She let her hands glide over the rippling muscles of his chest, then down to the leather waistband of his black pants. "Are you wearing these tonight?"
"Yeah. Is that good with you?"
"Oh, very. You fill out leather jeans better than any man alive. Will you wear the sleeveless black shirt that zips up the middle? I love how the hem stops just below your navel then dips behind your sexy thighs. The clothes you find are so very unique ... and hot!"
He smiled modestly. Even so, she saw delight sparkle in his vivid blue eyes.
"I'll wear anything you like, love." His lips touched hers. Silky hair brushed her cheeks when he leaned over. She took a deep breath—taking everything about him into her soul.
"I've invited Miles and Kacie to serve as witnesses along with Page. They are a very well-grounded couple. Possibly the most spiritual pair on the island. I want to be sure there is no doubt in anyone's mind that you officially belong to me. Reece has respectfully asked to be excluded. He is riddled with guilt over letting Ciara get out of hand. She was in his charge, and it's embarrassing to a man when his woman behaves as she did."
Summer asked the dreaded question. "Will Blaze be there?"

He didn't hesitate. "Yes. I especially want him to watch. Don't worry. Page has him under control. She rang me while you slept. Blaze will not cause you another moment of distress."
"I'm not worried. I'm with you now." She sat up, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I didn't get to tell you everything that happened."
"Page told me most of it. We had a nice long chat. You'll have plenty of time to fill me in on the details. She said you chose her as handmaiden."
"Of course! Once you and I seal our blood, Page will be free of Blaze, right?"
"Yes. He'll have no recourse but to let her go. When a woman seeks to leave a man who has been feeding on her, she must find another domain willing to give her asylum or leave Dunalino forever. A marked woman without a guardian creates utter chaos here, and we never force them to stay bound against their will."
"But that's what Blaze was going to do." Savion stroked her hair and kissed the top of her head. "I know, love. He was out of control. He'll pay the price for his crimes." Scooping her off the sofa and into his arms, he carried her back to the bedroom. "Now let's get you ready. The moon is high. I want your bite."
Her insides tightened at the thought. She stared up at him as he leaned over her with both hands braced on the bed. In teasingly slow motion Savion removed the blanket, unwrapping her like a fragile gift. Soft, sensual lips sought her kiss. Sliding her hands into his hair, she gently sucked his 238

tongue into the moist recess of her mouth, making him groan with desire. Gently his lips trailed along her jaw line, then down her neck over the swell of her bosom. She sucked in a sharp breath as he continued the tantalizing trek downward. Memories of their first morning on the island tugged at her mind. The day she had pleasured him in the most intimate way—something she'd never done before knowing him. And now—he was preparing to return the same deep affection. She intensified her grip on his hair as waves of heat inundated her. His mouth felt deliciously warm, pulling her over the edge of passion until her body defied her.
"Sav..." She gasped when he didn't let up. Shudders coursed through the depths of her soul as he lovingly took her where no man had ever taken her before.
"I love you, mon coeur." Smooth. Irresistibly sensual. His voice floated over her sweetly. Slowly he slid up to face her.
"I've tasted you in every way now."
"Yes." She could barely catch her breath let alone speak.
"We have but one step to take for absolute consummation."
Her mouth began to water as his thoughts filled her mind. She licked her lips in excited anticipation.

Miles and Kacie bowed down as Summer approached a canopy that had been erected at the water's edge for the ceremony. Their sudden veneration took her by surprise. White candles placed in the sand surrounded a red blanket under the sheer, lacy covering. Waves tumbled ashore 239

beneath an enchanting full moon, leaving white froth just below the canopy as they rolled back out to sea. What looked like a billion stars sparkled in a perfectly clear, night sky. Nature itself appeared to be celebrating their union, casting warm streaks of moonlight down upon them.
Page moved towards her with an elated smile. She bowed her head reverently, then looked up. "Allow me to braid your beautiful hair, my lady, so it does not get in the way." Their display of respect made Summer realize how significant this ceremony would be to Dunalino. When Savion had first told her what she would become, she couldn't fathom the vast magnitude of his request. The day he asked her in that seductive voice, "Will you receive me?" she never imagined her life had just begun.
When Page finished plaiting her hair, Savion lightly placed her arm over his and led her under the canopy. Their three friends stood just outside, watching with approving expressions. Behind Page stood Blaze, looking very pale and drawn. His eyes held no emotion as he stared at her. He appeared to be numb. Summer could only hope that Page's venom kept him in a constant state of torment. Savion slid a protective arm around Summer's waist and addressed their small audience.
"You may speak to my lady at this time if you so wish." Kacie stepped forward and presented Summer with a white rose. "When I saw you for the first time, I knew Savion had found his heart. Though we haven't had the opportunity to become better acquainted, I hope that will change now that you consider Dunalino your home. Page spoke of your 240

courage and how you protected her from a horrible fate. I speak for Miles and myself when I say we are deeply honored that you have accepted your calling as the First Lady of the Blood."
>
"Thank you," Summer said with tears in her eyes. Kacie's heartfelt words made her feel welcome among the people. Page smiled sweetly, her green eyes sparkled with open gratitude and love. "Summer," she began. "It didn't take me long to discern your pure heart. Dunalino can be a wild place to be, and you've proven that even under the worst circumstances, you'll prevail. I can never thank you with words for setting me free." She knelt down before her. "You are brave, intelligent and loyal. My brother couldn't have chosen a better life-mate. I offer you my loyalty in return as your handmaiden if you will accept me." Summer took Page by the hand and helped her up. "I could have never survived the challenges of the past few days if it were not for you. Of course I welcome you into our home
... as my handmaiden ... and as my dear friend." They stared at each other for a tender moment with tears sliding over glistening cheeks. Then Summer reached out and gave Page a sincere, cordial hug. Page dabbed her tears away as she stepped back. The time had come for Summer to seal her blood with Savion's. She turned to face him as Page, Kacie and Miles held lighted torches—waiting.

Summer's body quivered standing in front of him. He wore her new favorite outfit of his—the black leather pants and sexy, zip-front shirt. As required, she had donned the charmed stage clothes after placing the purple pick back into the front jeans pocket. A shimmery black, halter-style chemise covered her breasts. Cropped at the waist, the elegant fabric left her midriff exposed to flaunt a dazzling, bejeweled waist chain. Savion's gentle hands rested at her waist. The energy between them had peaked. His lightest touch sent an ache of desire to her innermost being.
"I've waited so long," he murmured. Tender lips touched hers before trailing around to her neck. One hand moved over her hips—the other swept up her back to pull her against him. She felt his need in a crushing embrace. Without hesitation her head dropped back, offering to him what he craved: her body ... her soul ... her blood. A smile traced her lips when he bit down, puncturing her delicate skin with razor-sharp teeth. Sweet pain! Mindblowing pleasure!
Fervent sucking on her neck catapulted her body into frenzy. She clung to him, suddenly not caring that they were not alone. All that mattered was receiving him in every possible way. She slid a hand beneath the long shirt to rake her nails across his back, while the other glided into his hair, holding his mouth to her neck as he took her higher. A soft cry escaped her as spasms racked her body in need of 242

release. Licking her lips, the taste of her own salty sweat filled her mouth. One leg swung around the back of his thighs, entwining their bodies as she shuddered against him. When he lifted his head the enthralled expression painted on his face blew her away. His tongue swept over those sensually pouted lips with a delicious smile, making her burn with the longing to taste him.
Savion recognized the heated look. It was the same fire he'd seen the night she pleaded to bite him ahead of schedule. The night he almost lost her—his heart. Still intertwined with her beneath a perfect moon, he gripped her shapely thighs and lifted her into his arms. Immediately her long legs enveloped his waist and locked behind him, nestling the hard bulge straining against the leather between inviting thighs. Once she was securely wrapped about him, he moved one hand into the thick of her hair beneath the long, golden braid. Tenderly he eased her head back far enough to gaze into hungry, sultry, eyes—wild and deep like the ocean.
" Mon coeur," he whispered. "Take my blood." Their lips met. Her sweet tongue did a thorough exploration of his mouth, creating a swell of desire in his groin. You're such a vamp to tease me so! He sensed her smiling inside with delight. Slowly she broke their heady liplock to let her luscious mouth leave a trail of tender kisses over his face, then his neck. She nipped and sucked at his skin, seeking her select point of penetration. Her luscious nibbling sent tingling sensations down his spine, followed by a streak of fiery heat through his veins. Anticipation of her bite 243

spun him into a state of rapture—suspended between ecstasy and sweet agony—barely able to maintain control. Only this time he knew she'd take him home. Her intense trembling and erratic breathing indicated she had also reached her breaking point.
"I love you ... Sav..." Sharp teeth eagerly bit down, piercing the vein in his neck. A sudden gasp as the sensation hit. Her body tensed in his arms—momentarily stunned by his power as blood surged into her mouth.
A staggering wave of pleasure drove him to his knees. Taking her along, he slid to the blanket lain on the sand without interrupting her lockdown. The painful scar left by Nahtosha instantly transformed into the love-bite of his woman. Sweet, sweet release!
Summer straddled his waist ... bent over him ... sucking the open wound on his neck like the blood-dragon she'd become.
Senhora Do Sangue! My Lady of the Blood!
Their heavy breathing filled his ears as they became one in the most incredibly passionate encounter Savion had ever experienced. He released himself unto her—giving everything in his heart—to the woman who had become his.

Meet Elliot Love
Since I can remember, reading and writing have served as escapism for me. I grew up on a farm where life was hard, leaving very little time for dreaming. Somehow in between school and work I found time to create my own world with words. There is a hidden rainbow of dreams for those who can write their way into other worlds. That secret place carries me through the storm of life.
In 2007 I lost my oldest daughter. Coping with that level of grief has been at times, unbearable. In addition to that, I suffer with a chronic physical condition called Meniere's Disease. It's not transmittable but it does make life hell at times. I believe that my optimistic spirit and faith in God is what keeps me going.
My three dogs have been wonderful therapy. I rescued them in 2001. They get me up and keep me moving. Writing has become a "life-force" to me. I penned my first novel in 2006 and haven't stopped since. When not immersed in the thrill of creating a new world ... I feel lost. So I keep writing
... and will continue doing so until the end.
