  Reaper: Chapter 1

  MICHELLE

“All right… I got a question for you, Michelle.”

  “Shoot.”

She leaned forward in her seat and started giggling to herself before she could even speak.

  “You and Declan…” she started.

“Oh, this will be interesting…” the woman next to me said.

  “Keep going,” I said.

“Tell me, Michelle. What do you do when you really wanna get him off?”

  “…What?”

I would have thought she was joking but then again, Gina was always joking. She was so young and carefree. I couldn’t remember the last time she took something serious.

You could tell the kind of woman she was just by looking at her. Her shirt was about two sizes too small for her tits. Her makeup was always perfect. Her raven black hair made her pale skin even more noticeable.

She stayed leaning forward in her seat, an eyebrow arched as she waited for my response.

“Oh, come on!” she said before I could respond. “Are you really ashamed about talking about your sex life with me? We’re all friends here.”

I turned to the woman next to me. Anna gave me a shrug as she chuckled softly to herself. I guess it was to be expected. Anna would be the one who would enjoy me getting needled about the personal details of my relationship more than anybody else.

“Where’s this coming from?” I said to Gina.

“I’m just curious,” she said with a shrug.

“No, you’re not just curious. It’s not just the drinking either. You don’t ask another woman about her sex life out of the blue.”

Gina leaned back in her seat and took another sip of her bottle of beer. She sighed a deep breath and the giddy smile she had left her face.

“I’m just running out of ideas,” she said.

“Running out of ideas?” Anna asked.

“Dorian and I have been together for a long time now. A few months.”

“And now you’re having trouble in the bedroom?” I said, an eyebrow raised in curiosity.

“I’m not having any trouble at all,” Gina sighed. “Believe me, Dorian can satisfy me just by taking his clothes off. Somehow, I think he’s in even better shape than when I met him.”

  “Then what’s the problem?”

“The problem is I’m running out of ideas on how to satisfy him. There are times when he comes home and he’s completely exhausted. Working at the fire station. Spending time at the clubhouse. Then he still has to find time for the gym. I just… I just wanna satisfy him. Really satisfy him, you know?”

Dorian was the youngest member of the Black Reapers. It made sense that he’d get with a woman like Gina. They were a cute, young couple. While Gina was as wild as a woman her age should be, Dorian was straight as an arrow. He was the only man in the MC without a criminal record.

“If Dorian’s the man I think he is, I’m sure he’s just happy being with you,” Anna said.

“I know he is,” Gina said. “We are happy. But I wanna get him off. I wanna make his toes curl and his muscles tense so that he forgets about whatever shit might be on his mind.”

  “You’re overthinking it,” I said.

  “Am I?”

“Yes. Guys aren’t complicated. Their dicks get hard and they come. That’s it.”

“You have a way with words…” Anna said.

“It’s the truth,” I said. “Men might pretend like they’re complicated creatures but they’re not. I’ve been with Declan long enough to know that. When he’s had a long day, all he wants is the release that only I can provide him.”

“That sounds like you’ve got a pretty loveless marriage,” Gina sighed.

  “Ha!”

Anna burst into laughter. I turned and glared at her but she kept laughing. I wasn’t bothered by her though, considering all of us were friends.

“Take my advice,” I said, turning my attention back to Gina. “Dorian deals with a lot of shit. All he needs from you is a reminder that you’re his. Be there for him.”

“That doesn’t sound very interesting,” Gina sighed. “Maybe we should try anal…”

Anna laughed even harder. I rolled my eyes and sighed even though I knew I should’ve expected as much from a young woman like Gina.

“What about you?” Gina asked Anna. “What do you do when Jon gets in his mood?”

“What do I do?” Anna replied. “I don’t do anything. Jon does most of the work.”

“But what about when he’s tired and he’s had a long day?”

“That doesn’t usually happen. But Jon’s pretty willing to lay back and let me do all of the work. Of course, it just gets him riled up and he starts putting his hands on me. He does this thing where he puts his hand around my throat… It really gets me going.”

“Oh, tell me more,” Gina said, leaning so far forward on the couch that I thought she was gonna fall flat on her face.

I got up from my seat before Anna could go into the inti
mate details of her sex life with the VP of the club.

“Excuse me, ladies,” I sighed. “I think I need some fresh air.”

Anna and Gina continued their conversation in the living room. I stepped out into the backyard and inhaled a deep breath of the crisp air.

It was another late night in Ivory. The stars were out without a cloud in the sky. The atmosphere was so peaceful that it made you forget about whatever it was you were thinking about. Ivory was like that in a lot of ways.

I listened to the backdoor open and someone step outside. I turned and saw Katrina move right next to me. She bounced her daughter in her arms as she looked up into the sky.

  “You all right?” she asked.

“I’m doing just fine,” I said. “Gina’s had a little too much to drink.”

  “How can you tell?”

  “Now that you mention it…”

I thought about it for a few seconds then we both started laughing.

“…I don’t know,” I said. “That’s just how she is.”

  “She’s great, isn’t she?”

“It’s good having her around. She’s got a lot of energy. I feel like that’s lacking in this town. We need more women like Gina in Ivory.”

I turned to Katrina’s daughter. A newborn baby never failed to put a smile on my face.

“Bella’s gonna be a good one, too,” I said.

“I hope it’ll be a long time until she becomes a woman. I think she’s just fine the way she is.”

“Here… Why don’t you hold her? I can use a break.”

I took Bella gently into my arms. I rocked her softly back in forth, my face close to her so I could look right in her eyes. The baby stared back at me, her eyes wide and full of wonder.

“Thanks for doing this,” Katrina said.

  “Doing what?”

“Hosting us. The old ladies of the Black Reapers. Anna. Gina. You. Me. It’s like we’re our own little club.”

“It’s my pleasure. Believe me. I was beginning to think the other boys in the club would never settle down. I’m glad they all found someone that’ll keep their dicks in their pants.”

  “Yeah…”

My attention was focused on the baby in my arms. After a few seconds, I noticed that Katrina was silent. I looked up and saw her staring off into the distance with her hands in her pockets.

  “Katrina?”

She waited a few seconds before responding.

  “Yeah?”

  “Is… something wrong?”

  “No,” she sighed. “Nothing’s wrong.”

  “But?”

“But there are times when I worry about Blake. I know what it means to be in a club. I’ve been around clubs all my life. I knew what I was getting into when we got engaged. But—”

  “I get it.”

I smiled softly at her, already knowing what she was thinking.

“I know exactly how you feel,” I said.

“How do you do it?” she asked. “You’ve been with Declan for so long… How do you not worry?”

“There are times when I do worry. Those times don’t come very often but when they do, I remember the most important thing.”

  “What’s that?”

“My husband is an amazing man. He’s a Black Reaper. There’s no reason for me to ever be worried because I know there’s no problem he can’t solve. The same goes for Blake. It takes a special man to wear that patch. Blake is special.”

“I suppose you have a point.”

“Let me ask you this. Do you think there’s anything more important to Blake than you or Bella?”

“Of course not,” Katrina said, shaking her head.

“Then there’s nothing for you to worry about. He’s a good man. He’s a good father. He’ll be a good husband.”

  “Yeah…”

Katrina giggled softly and shook her head. She blinked her eyes like she’d suddenly regained her senses. It was a bit of relief to see the smile come back to her face.

“That’s what this is for,” I said. “We’re all here for each other. You. Me. Anna. Gina. We’re all in this together. And I want to spend as much time around Bella as I can before she grows up.”

I looked down at the baby in my arms gently and tickled her chin. She cooed softly with a big smile on her face.

  “Michelle…”

  “Yeah?”

“How come you and Declan never had any kids?”

I thought it was a curious question but considering my husband and I had been together for nearly a decade, I suppose it wasn’t that strange.

“I don’t know,” I said with a shrug. “It’s just something Declan and I never got around to. With him busy running the club and me managing the clubhouse—”

“What? Are you telling me you two aren’t having sex?”

“First Gina and now you, huh?”

“I’m just wondering,” she said with a laugh.

  “I know, I know.”

My attention was focused on Bella as Katrina waited for my response.

“I don’t know. Maybe I’ll talk to Declan about it when I get the chance. Enough about the men though. Tonight is about us. We’ll deal with club business later.”

“I suppose it’s a good idea to have some fun while the boys are out on their own. What do you think they’re up to?”

I looked up into the sky. I didn’t have to think long about it.

“I’m not sure,” I said. “Another boys night out. Something stupid, I’m sure. They’re club members. They have to be who they are. But the one thing I know is that it’s not anything you need to worry about.”

  Reaper: Chapter 2

  DECLAN

It was hard to imagine guys like Nate still existed in Ivory. Maybe I was just hanging around people who were too fucking old. He was a red-haired, green-eyed kid who looked like he’d just finished high school. Actually, I think that was the case with him. The guy was so young I could call him ‘kid’ without it being an insult.

It didn’t matter that he looked like his mother had just given birth to him though. He was enough of a man for me to respect him. It didn’t matter how big his muscles were or what kind of record he had. I had to test him to see if he was really worthy of wearing the patch.

  “Drink up, prospect.”

I slammed my mug of beer to his then chugged mine down. I dropped my empty glass and watched as he gingerly took a sip from his. I eyeballed him just when it looked like he was about to stop and he finished the rest of it with a big gulp.

“There you go,” I said as I patted him on the back. “Nothing like a beer to get your night started. How old are you, anyway?”

  “Twenty-one,” Nate replied.

  “Plenty old enough.”

  “Thanks… Uh…”

  “Just call me Garnet.”

  “Thanks, Garnet.”

He smiled at me, his eyes wide like he was grateful for my approval.

I guess that shit came with the territory when you were the president of an MC. Considering Nate was only a prospect, I couldn’t blame the guy for watching his mouth around me. But there was a fine line between kissing someone’s ass and showing respect.

I put a hand on his shoulder.

“Listen, kid. You don’t need to suck my dick. I’ve got an old lady for that. I’m almost a decade older than you but if you wanna make it with me, you gotta treat me like an equal. Treat every man who wears that patch like an equal. That’s how it works around here. You get patched-in full, you’re a brother.”

I moved my hand down and dug my index finger into the patch on his chest. It didn’t matter that Nate was just a prospect. The Black Reapers patch was the envy of every man in Ivory. When they saw the skull, they knew that was some shit they had to respect.

“I just wanna thank you,” Nate said. “It really is an honor to be wearing the patch.”

“You’re not wearing the patch yet. But if you keep your nose clean and walk a straight line, you’ll get th
ere.”

  “Thanks for the opportunity.”

“Don’t thank me. Thank Ghost for vouching for you. He’s a brother. I trust the man with my life. If he thinks you’re capable, then I do.”

Ghost was the VP of the club. The guy was a sage. I trusted his judgment more than I trusted my own.

  “Where is that motherfucker anyway?”

I looked around the bar and searched the crowd.

Finn’s was as fucking wild as it always was. It was kind of annoying but you got used to it. The smoke that made shit hard to see. The stink of perfume from whores trying to become old ladies. The old leather that hadn’t been washed in weeks from some of the filthier clubs.

That’s not even mentioning the patrons themselves. Every asshole in the place looked like he had a bone to pick. Alcohol and assholes who had their own kutte were always entitled. Shit, I understood that better than everybody. Of course, I was a fucking Reaper, so that shit was more forgivable.

The conversation was loud, so I wouldn’t be able to hear anybody I was looking for. It was easy to get lost in a crowd like this.

“Do you want me to go look for him?” Nate asked. “I think the rest of the club might be in the back. There’s some poker game going on with the other club members—”

“Nah, don’t worry about it. I need to talk to you, anyway.”

  “Sure. What’s this all about?”

Finn’s was the last place to have a good one-on-one conversation with anybody. But if Nate couldn’t handle a place like this on a Friday night, then he wouldn’t cut it as a Reaper.

“Listen, prospect. I just wanna make something clear to you. If you’re in, you’re all the way in. A hundred percent. No sticking your toe in the water to test it. You gotta jump right in.

“You wanna get patched in, you gotta listen to everything I tell you to do. Your loyalty is to the club. You know why that is?”

  “Why’s that?” he asked.

“Because if you’ve got the club’s back, then we’ve got yours. Everybody else has got everybody’s back. It’s better than looking out for yourself. I can’t imagine where I’d be without my brothers. We all look out for each other.”
