He looked down at her with enough love in his eyes to last a lifetime. ‘I do what I must, madam.’
‘That you do,’ she murmured. She tilted her head up so that she could kiss him lightly on his scar. ‘Oh!’ she exclaimed. ‘Oh, my goodness.’
‘What is wrong,’ he asked, his arm instantly around her. ‘Are you sick?’
She smiled. ‘I…I am wonderful.’ She took his hand and pulled it tighter around her waist so that his palm rested on the slight swell of her belly. ‘But our child is restless.’
A look of startled wonder transformed his features. ‘Our child,’ he murmured. ‘Yes, I…I feel a kick.’
‘Another toast,’ Ravensford announced. ‘To the future Earl of Perth.’
Lillith smiled. Perth beamed.
‘Or the future Lady Amelia Beaumair, for that is what we will name a girl,’ Perth said.
‘To our child,’ Lillith said simply.
‘To our love,’ Perth replied, kissing her.
