Captivated Heat

“To what?” he asked, his tone guttural.

“To taste my pussy,” she said, smiling shyly, glancing up at him through her long, dark lashes.

“You were a virgin then,” he said correctly.

  “Yes, you were my first.”

She hadn’t seen him move, but suddenly his fingers were teasing her clit, parting her folds and slipping inside her.

“Damn, you’re wet.” He pulled his fingers from her body and sucked them clean. “And you taste so fucking sweet.”

He lowered his mouth to her knee and kissed a trail down the inside of her thigh. Spreading the folds of her sex, he flicked his tongue over the sensitive bead and slowly sucked until she was writhing in his hands. When he pressed two fingers back inside her pussy, his mouth fastened gloriously to her clit, she shattered into a million pieces.

When the spasms of her release subsided, he brought her into the water and held her. She reached down between them and felt his thick shaft. She wanted to feel him inside her. She craved everything and desired more.

“Wait,” he told her. “I’m not wearing a condom.”

  “I don’t care. I’m on the pill.”

His muscles locked up, staring at her. “I’ve never been with a woman without protection before.” He paused, holding her closer. “I only ever wanted to feel you that way.”

A fluttering moan parted from her lips as he let her sink down on his cock. He carried her over to the steps and sat down, letting her possess his body. She pumped her hips, riding him slow and easy, feeling him deep inside her. She let her head fall back, the pleasure of their union almost too much to bear. He reached between them and teased her clit. Then it hit her, the blinding wave of her orgasm. Damn, he knew how to fuck her, how to give her everything she wanted.

She wrapped her arms around him, her body vibrating. She felt his cock pulse inside her womb and knew he was coming. For a long time, they embraced on the steps of the pool.

When the night’s exhaustion had finally caught up to her, she eased back to look at him. “I’ve missed you, Daniel. I’ve missed you so much.”

He tenderly kissed her. “I’m sorry I screwed up. You will never know how much I regret doing that. I’m crazy about you, Sammy. There’s never been anyone who’s ever meant more to me than you.”

She kissed him back and moved off his lap. Moving up the pool steps, she extended out her hand. “Come to bed with me.”

He took her hand, but didn’t stand. “Are you sure?”

She knelt down and pressed her lips to his. “I’m sure.” With a smile on his face, he followed her, drying off before slipping between the sheets of her bed.

Turning off the light, he whispered, “I could have you again, you know?”

Grinning, a burst of warmth filled her heart. “Dream about me,” she told him. “Dream about us.”

“That’s exactly what I hope to do.”

  Chapter Seven

“Are you planning on sleeping the day away?” Daniel whispered into Sam’s ear. As much as he hated to wake her, he wanted to spend the day with her, talking and doing the things he’d missed over the last several years. “I can think of so many other things to do today than sleep.”

She groaned, cracking open her eyes for a moment to smile, and then, she covered her head and rolled over to avoid him. “Go away,” she muttered.

He laughed. “Now, that’s not a very nice thing to do.”

Her voice muffled by the sheet, she said, “If I’d have known you were an early bird, I would’ve told you to go home.”

He reached under the blanket and fingered the crease of her ass, dipping between her legs. She parted them enough for his hand to fit. “For some reason, I don’t believe you’d really want to send me home.”

She laughed, rolling to her back. “I can’t help it if you’ve tricked my body into liking the things you do to it.”

“There was no tricking involved,” he said, grinning. “It’s all skill.” She shook her head, her hair splayed across her pillow. “Damn, you’re absolutely beautiful.”

She narrowed her eyes and once again covered her head with the sheet. “I have bed head. You must be drunk or need glasses.” She growled as he tried to pull down the sheet. He won. “No one is absolutely beautiful when they wake up in the morning,” she pointed out.

“You’re not just anyone,” he reminded her, brushing the backs of his knuckles over her cheek.

“I already slept with you and agreed to let you speak,” she said, laughing. “You don’t need to flatter me, too.”

He wasn’t saying anything that wasn’t true and he hated that she was resistant to his compliment. He rolled off the bed. “Get up. I’m taking you to”—he looked at his watch—“lunch.”

She rose up on her elbows, the sheet slipping down to reveal her mouthwatering breasts. Her berry-colored nipples more appetizing than actual food. His cock pulsed.

Before he did something like take her again, he headed out of her room, repeating, “Get up. Get dressed.”

He paced the living room for twenty minutes before she appeared. She’d showered and dressed and was wearing dark blue jeans, a black tank top, and her black leather riding boots. Then his gaze followed a trail from her spectacular body and locked on her eyes. She was watching him.

“What?” he asked. Her expression was curious.

She shook her head as if noticing she’d been busted for staring at him. She had. “Nothing. You ready?” she asked, grabbing her leather jacket and helmet out of the closet. “Are we taking your bike or mine?”

“You don’t mind riding—” The expression was “bitch”, but he couldn’t seem to get the word out. Instead he said, “Princess?”

She laughed. “We can take your bike. It’s been a while since I’ve ridden with you anyway.”

He dug his key out of his pocket. “It’s a good thing my brother kept up on it. It would’ve been a waste for it to just sit in his garage.”

Sam stopped, turning back to face him before stepping outside of the front door. “Jason and I—we both took turns riding it once a week to keep it from just sitting. It would’ve been a shame for such a beautiful machine to go to shit just because you abandoned it.”

He reached out to take her arm before she turned away from him. She had humor in her eyes. “Thank you,” he said, closing the distance to kiss her. “Thank you for everything.”

“Don’t thank me. I tried to get Jason to give it to me. I was planning to drive it off the nearest bridge, but he convinced me it would be more fun to ride it.” She laughed. He shook his head. “Besides, I think the damn bike missed you. The day I decided to launch it into the lake, the wiring harness went to shit. Couldn’t get the damn thing to turn over.”

  “Good thing for shitty connectors.”

She patted his chest. “I think the bike hoped you’d come back home to it and it didn’t want to be a rust bucket when you did.”

She headed for his bike and slipped her helmet over her head. His chest squeezed tight, knowing just how much he’d missed everything in his life, especially Sammy. He saw a chance to be what she needed and thanks to the doctor he was seeing, he knew he wasn’t going to fuck it up this time. It might take a while to work past the demons that haunted him, but he saw a light in the future, one he was destined to capture.

“Um, I thought you said we were going to lunch,” Sam said, staring out at the lake.

  “We are,” he said confidently.

She scanned the area. No food. No nothing. The only thing at the park was them. School was in session. Most people were working this time of day. What did he plan to do, jump into the lake and catch fish with his bare hands and eat them raw?

“I’m not sure I follow you.”

He chuckled. “Hop off,” he instructed and she did. Then, he put the kickstand down and they both removed their helmets. “I ordered takeout.”

“Who the hell delivers to the lake?”
/>
He laughed, taking their helmets and placing them on the seat of his bike. “Trust me. You’re going to love this.”

As if by magic, a car was headed straight for them. A sweet little Asian woman popped out of the car with a big smile plastered on her face. She was holding a bag. The smell of Chinese food assailed Sam and she pursed her lips together to keep from smiling.

Sam couldn’t believe what he had done. He was recreating their first date. Her heart skipped, dancing to the mesmerizing beat of the love that she still felt for Daniel.

He paid the woman, grabbed the bag of food, and headed back to Sam. “Lunch,” he cheered, holding the food up in a gesture that screamed “told you so”.

She folded her arms over her chest, her eyes narrowing on him. “I see what you’re doing.”

He tried to look innocent. “Who, me?”

  “Yes, you.”

He grinned and moved to the nearest picnic table. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. I wanted to have a nice lunch with you where we could talk and get to know each other again. This made for the ideal location.”

“And the fact that it’s very similar to our first date is just a coincidence?”

He opened his mouth, feigning surprise. “It is?”

She smiled. “You know it is.”

He moved toward her, collecting her in his arms. “And what a wonderful date that was. I took you out for Chinese food and brought you here. If I remember correctly, it was the first time you let me touch your boobs and French kiss you.”

She shoved against him. “You make it sound like we were kids.”

“We were, Sammy. Eighteen and twenty are kids.” He cupped her cheek, brushing his thumb over her skin. His eyes were warm and inviting. “It wasn’t long after that that we…”

His words trailed off, but she knew what went unspoken. She’d been in love with him since the moment she’d met him and her need to be with him consumed her. Teasing him at the pool had been her need to show him just how much she trusted him, wanted him. He was the one who sparked such emotions in her, raw and passionate. She swallowed hard.

“I remember,” she whispered. “But we’re not kids anymore, Daniel, and a lot has changed between us.”

“I know.” He took hold of her hand and led her to the table to sit down. “Let’s enjoy a little lunch. I bought several different things in case your taste buds have changed.”

  “Nope. I still like everything.”

  He smiled. “Good. Me, too.”

Daniel sorted out the food and Sam’s stomach rumbled. “I guess I’m hungry,” she told him, smiling as she grabbed the fork he offered her.

“So when do you work next? Jason told me you were off tonight, but I had so much on my mind I forgot what he said after that.”

  “You spoke to Jason?”

He nodded, swallowing down the bite of noodles he’d taken. “I had to find out how much time I had with you today. I wanted to know if this was a good idea or one that would only have you watching the clock. I know how important Iron Horse is to you.”

“So how long have you had this planned?” she asked, trying the sesame chicken.

“Since you were so beautifully displayed for me at the side of your pool.” He grinned, glancing down at his food. “I couldn’t help but feel a bit nostalgic, and I thought this would be a fun way for us to reconnect.” He looked at her. “Was I wrong?”

Heat filling her cheeks, she shook her head and took another bite of food.

“Good. I was hoping that would be your response. I’ve got to admit, I was a bit nervous you might get upset with me.”

She grimaced. “Why would you think that?”

He put his fork down, holding her gaze. “I’m treading on unfamiliar water, Sammy. I’m trying to make amends for what I did. But we’re not the same people we used to be and even though I know what I want, I still don’t know what you want. I don’t want to do something that makes you regret giving me a second chance.” He took her hand in his. “I honestly can’t believe you are.”

She shrugged. “Well, you do have a nice motorcycle.”

  “Thanks.”

“It would be such an awful thing to let a machine like that go to waste.” She sighed. “And you’re not bad to look at either.”

He grinned, biting into his cheek. “Good thing for that.”

“No shit,” she muttered, her eyes rounding.

“You’re something else, you know that?” he told her, his voice deep and filled with humor.

  “I’ve been told that before.”

  “Oh, really? By whom, exactly?”

A rush of warmth flooded her body as she stared at him. A wave of jealousy flickered in his eyes. “Would you really want to know?”

After a brief hesitation, he said, “No. Not really. I’m just thankful they aren’t around now.”

  “Who says they aren’t?”

“Woman, you’d’ better stop teasing me.”

She stuck her lower lip out in a mock pout. “Oh, what’s the big bad military man gonna do about it?”

He leapt up from his seat and before she could scurry away from the table, he had her twisted around, bent over the table, his groin pressed against her ass. She squealed as he pinned her arms behind her back.

With his mouth at her neck, he rasped, “I’ll show you exactly what this big bad military man can do, if you want. Would you like it if I tore those jeans off that cute little ass of yours and paddled you? Maybe you’d like it better if I fucked you good and hard. Oh, I know how much you like my mouth on that sweet little pussy. The screams of passion alone will deter any man from thinking he has a chance with you.”

Her pussy throbbed as he spoke to her, teasing her with things he knew would have her panties soaked. Their chemistry was unmatched and she would welcome every single thing he said.

“This was never our issue, Daniel,” she told him, her nipples piercing into the hard table. “Sex has always been good between us.”

He released her, pulling her into his arms, chest to chest. “It wasn’t always just sex for me. I could spend hours talking with you. Your voice, eyes, everything about you captivated me, drew me to you.”

She pressed her hand to his cheek. “I wish it had been enough then.”

“I was different. So were you. We’re older now, wiser, even. Reminiscing about the past only proves how good it was and how good it can be again.”

“I agree. We shared more good times than bad. I want”—her heart thumped hard as she confessed—“you, Daniel. I want you. I always have.”

He crushed against her, pulling her so tight in his arms she struggled to breathe, but she said nothing. It felt too good to let go. Then he moved back enough to kiss her. His lips pressed to her cheeks, nose, lips, and eyes, everywhere he could touch.

“Oh, Sammy, baby. You’ve made me so happy. I’ve waited so long to hear you say that. I want you, too. It’s always been you for me.”

She breathlessly laughed. “No more surprises, then. No more up and making decisions without me.”

“Never. Never again.” He held her, cradling her in his arms as if it were the only thing he wanted to do.

  “Now what do we do?”

He looked at her, his eyes glistening with happiness. “We talk.”

  “About?”

“Everything. Your life. Your career. Your dreams.”

She grinned. “This could take a while.”

“That’s okay. I’m not going anywhere.”

  Chapter Eight

“Well, smack my ass and tickle my nipples. You look happy,” Zerina said, eyeing Sam curiously. “Why exactly do you look so happy? And why did you call in sick yesterday and the day before that? Was it beauty rest you were getting or something else that makes a woman’s skin so radiate?”

“Yep, she was having wild monkey sex with Daniel,” Brynn chimed in, stepping behind the bar. “It’s written all over her face. She’s practically wearing a sign
that says, “I rode the Iron Horse.”

“Oh, hell, yeah,” Zerina snapped. “That would make a fantastic T-shirt.” She looked at Sam. “We need to sell those. We could make a fortune.”

Sam shook her head, unable to contain the blush that tinted her cheeks. “You two need so much help.”

“Are they right?” Jason asked, pulling up a barstool across from Sam. “Are you and my brother working things out?”

Sam glanced around the room at the faces of her friends and realized she couldn’t keep her happiness contained. She didn’t want to. She hadn’t called in sick ever and one marvelous day with Daniel had ruined her. She didn’t even want to come to work today, but Jason said he wasn’t going to be able to cover.

“Why are you here? You said you had a business meeting.”

His brow quirked. “Were you thinking of calling in sick again?”

  Yes. Her brow furrowed.

He raised his hands to deflect her irritated glare. “I’m on my way now, but heard your cheery voice and had to see it for myself.”

“See what?” she asked, folding her arms over her chest.

“What you look like happy.” He winked. “It looks good on you.”

  She smiled. “Thanks.”

“By the way, whenever you’re done with my brother, could you send him home? I’d like to talk with him.” Jason stood to leave.

“What do you mean? Wasn’t he home this morning?”

He shook his head. “Not that I saw. His bike wasn’t in the garage. I assumed he was with you.”

She frowned. He was supposed to have gone home early this morning so she could get some sleep. They’d spent hours talking and making love, and she’d been exhausted. If he wasn’t with her or at home, where the hell was he?

As Jason left, she couldn’t help but be consumed by those feelings that he wasn’t being honest with her again. Gripping the edge of the bar, she realized she had to stop doing that, had to stop assuming the worst. If they were going to make this work between them, she had to keep from letting those old emotions creep back into her mind. As unsettling as it was that he hadn’t done as he’d said, she was going to shove down those feelings and wait until tonight when she saw him. There was probably a very good reason he hadn’t gone home, one she couldn’t wait to hear.
