Speaking of… Chase traced his thumb along Larke’s cheek. She was three months pregnant and it would only be a matter of time before their daughter started asking questions. “Do you think we should tell the kids when we go out?”

Larke drew in a deep breath. “Ronan won’t understand, but I hope Alicia is excited.”

H snorted. “She will be, if we do it inside an ice-cream shop.”

Larke laughed and laid her head on his chest. “I think you’re the one who one wants ice-cream but keep pretending it’s our little girl.”

Chase cupped the back of her head and gently lifted it from his chest, forcing her to meet his eyes. “Maybe. But you forget, angel. You’re still the sweetest thing I ever had or tasted.” He kissed her then. “I love you, Larke.”

“I love you too,” she murmured. “I’ll always love you, Chase.”

He grinned at her as they turned their heads to see their two kids staring at them. Alicia had her head cocked to the side with a funny grin on her face. Ronan was beside her, making a sour face. “You guys kiss too much,” Alicia said, making a face to rival her brother’s.

Letting out a low growl, Chase scooped his daughter up in his arms and started kissing her face. She giggled and twisted in his arm. Soon, he handed her over to Larke, who did the same, while he turned Ronan sideways in his arms, covering the toddler’s face with kisses. The little boy wriggled his way to rest his head on Chase’s shoulder. He sighed and said, “Daddy, I love you.”

And just like that, his heart expanded and his life felt completed, filled with happiness. With Larke he’d found everything and more than he’d ever dreamed of having. Life was all good.
