Alastair (Ghosts of Ophidian Book 2)

Theo was pleased to note that the drug-dealing bum was discovered to be a servant of the Pli about a week after they left and was “put out of commission” as his mother so eloquently put it. It would be a long time before the Oort Station would ever recover from the damages done by the sheol weed and by the slow abduction of Earth ships over the past several years, but Theo believed it would be possible.

Mutt returned to the Oort Station demanding a direct line to the head of the Space Command, making sure to use every colorful swear word he could think of. Siang Lee accompanied him as he stormed down the pier demanding the heads of every leader in the Space Command, but the ship’s owner didn’t seem as concerned about his ship as Mutt. When the Commander of the Oort Station greeted them, Lee simply introduced himself as the owner of the ship that shut down the source of sheol weed and the abduction of the Earth vessels. Mutt turned to the Asian man as all the attention was turned to a hero. His mouth agape, he was finally at a loss for words.

Alastair was still being detained as a war prisoner, but he would not be held in a cell during his stay on the Oort Station. Too many people wanted to meet with him and with enough pain medication in his system; he was able to talk about the past with his old friends. He would most certainly be intensely interrogated by the courts back on Earth, but he couldn’t be charged with any crimes, as he was clearly not in control of his faculties for the last several years. The decision would then be whether to risk a surgical removal of the brain implant. That would be a decision for Alastair, Theo, Marisa, and yes, Jill.

  Note from the publisher:

We at Superluminal believe that Kindle books shouldn’t ever cost more than 99 cents. Why? Because once you own a Kindle, it’s no longer possible to pick up discount books at yard sales, thrift stores, or outlets. This means that the only advertising we offer (since we’re not raking in the BIG BUCKS) is word-of-mouth which can be best expressed through Amazon reviews.

As often happens, when we hated a book, we might be quick to write a scathing review on Amazon (and this is understandable at times), but if we loved it, we simply smile and move on to the next book. Please, if you loved this book, write a kind review on Amazon to tell others.
