Hunter froze and looked at his mom in shock. "No, it can't happen that fast.... can it?"

"Apparently. Congrats, Daddy." His mom laughed and gave him a kiss on the cheek before picking up her bags that she'd set by the front door. "See me out Hunter, or I won't leave."

"Okay, I'm coming!" Hunter said, helping her grab the other two bags and taking them out to her car. Trying to decide if he should tell Misty his mothers suspicions, he wasn't sure he believed her entirely.

"I love you Hunter, I hope she makes you extremely happy. Also, I bought you guys some pregnancy tests. They are in the drawer in the guest bathroom. It's a three pack, so you can take more than one if you need proof." Giving her son a quick hug, she smiled at him then slid into the car, getting ready to leave. "I'll miss you. Let me know how things are going or I will come visit you again."

"I promise, I will let you know what's going on." Hunter muttered as he shut the door and waved goodbye. He was still feeling the shock his mother telling him she suspected Misty was pregnant and was trying to figure out if he should tell Misty now, or wait until morning.

Going upstairs, he stopped long enough to grab a bottle of wine that he'd bought just for tonight and grabbed two glass. Stopping on the stairs, he realized if she was pregnant, he couldn't take the wine to her. If he drank it and didn't let her have any, he'd have to explain why. Leaving the glasses and bottle downstairs, he went upstairs and realized he had to talk to her.

"Misty?" He asked and then stopped dead in his tracks when he entered the room. She as laying on the bed, naked except some lace thigh stockings and a garter. He just blinked at her and almost forgot what he was going to say.

"Did your mom finally leave?" She asked, and cringed. "I don't mean I don't like her, but I want you all to myself for a while."

"Yes, she's gone." Hunter said and gently shut the door behind him, before walking over to the bed to sit down next to her. He reached out and put his hand on her leg, looking at her for a moment.

"Where is the wine? I thought you were bringing some up? Not that I need any alcohol to have a wedding night, but I wanted to make a toast." Misty asked him and sat up, her breasts bouncing up and down as she kneeled next to him on the bed.

Hunter couldn't help but watch the perky large mounds jiggle all over the place and then looked up at the amused expression on her face.

"My mom thinks you're pregnant." Hunter hadn't meant to blurt it out just like that, but he got so distracted by her naked round curves that had him almost drooling, he just opened his mouth and it came out.

Misty almost laughed until she realized he was serious. "How is that possible?"

"Well, when a man and a woman..." Hunter started to say and she pinched him gently.

"I get how a baby is made. What I mean is, how would it happen so fast, and how would your mom know?" She said, her eyebrows coming together showing her confusion on her face.

"Same way that any other animal would be able to tell you're pregnant. Smell of the hormones changing. I guess she has a sensitive enough nose she could smell it on you." Hunter said and shrugged.

"Is that why you left the wine downstairs?" She asked him, blinking at him, her mind reeling trying to decide how to handle this situation if she was indeed pregnant. Being pregnant could change a lot of her plans and she wanted kids, but she thought she'd have more time. A baby right at the beginning of a new marriage could make life a little difficult.

"Yes. We could know for sure. My mom said she left some tests for us in the guest bathroom." Hunter hesitated. He wasn't sure he wanted to know tonight. "Honestly, I'm fine skipping the wine, having you test in the morning, and just spending our wedding night about us. Not all the possible stress of babies or the future tonight. I know you though, if you won't be able to relax and focus. I'll go get the box of tests for you now."

"She was so sure about it she bought us tests?" Misty said blinking at him in surprise.

Hunter nodded, and then pulled Misty onto his lap. "Either way, one more night won't make a difference. I want to spend my wedding night focused on my wife. I was going to wait until morning to tell you, but it just slipped out. I'm sorry."

"I will test in the morning, we can skip the wine tonight, I spent all this time getting to this point of having our wedding night, and were finally alone. I don't want to think or worry about anything else right now. Make love to me Hunter." Misty told him, wrapping her arms around his neck and pressing her lips to his. Her large breasts rubbed against him, teasing him.

"I love you Misty. I know I told you already, but I just want to tell you again." Hunter told her and cradled her in his arms. Forgetting about all the other stuff, he kissed her. Her fingers worked on the buttons of his shirt and he let her. Right now all he could think about was being inside of her warm body, smelling her delicate skin, and hearing her moans of pleasure.

"I love you too, Hunter." Misty said as she pushed his shirt off his shoulders and then slipped off his lap to lay back on the bed. "Get naked and come here."

"I thought you'd never ask," Grinning, he took off the rest of his clothes and joined her on the bed, running his hands up and down her legs he rubbed the lace of her thigh highs. "You are a man's wet dream. Curves in all the right places, no shame in what we do together. I love it."

"You make it easy to feel beautiful." Sighing when his hands slipped between her legs to touch her more intimate folds, she spread her legs wider, giving him more access. "I love when you touch me like that."

Misty reached down to grab his cock, stroking him hard as he played with her. He always made sure she got off too, she loved that about him. He was an unselfish lover and her pleasure seemed to excite him. It was erotic to watch him get more aroused the more she moved and wiggled and moaned.

Hunter closed his eyes for a second as the pad of her thumb rubbed over the tip of his cock gently. She wrapped her hand around him, squeezing him tightly. Enjoying the feel of his thick girth in her hand. Slipping a finger inside of her, he quickly had her hips arching up in rhythm to his stroking. His thumb rubbed against her clit, sending shudders of pleasure up her spine as he brought her closer to orgasm.

"Cum for me, Misty. I want to see you in the throws of passion." Hunter told her, grabbing her hand off his cock, holding it tight with his fingers, focusing on her pleasure. "Push against my hand, I can feel your walls swell up against me, swallowing me, squeezing."

Misty groaned and relaxed against the bed, focusing on what he was doing. As he described what he felt from his side, she could feel her body doing exactly what he said. It had her so hot that she was about to cum all over his hands. Spreading her legs wider, he bent his head down between her legs and put his mouth against her clit. Licking and sucking her, he twisted his fingers in and out of her as he let his mouth take her over the edge to an explosive orgasm that had her holding her breath and her entire body shaking.

Before she could come down from the orgasm, he started to build another one, and then pulled his fingers out, placing his cock against the opening of her folds and thrust himself deep inside her. Kissing her, he took her over the edge again a few moments later, his body pushing her against the soft mattress underneath her back.

He made love to her most of the night. Every time they would rest, he'd wake her up to another orgasm and start all over again. By morning, they were both exhausted, and Misty was a little sore.

Hunter finally let her sleep, but he didn't sleep. He just watched her rest, with a satisfied smile on her lips. He was content.

When she awoke a few hours later, he'd managed to doze on and off a little, and he stretched out. "Do you want some coffee and breakfast?"

"That would be lovely," She watched him get out of bed and get a bathrobe, tying the belt around his waist. She was a little disappointed because she liked watching his tight butt walk away from her, flexing with each step. When he grabbed a second robe from a hook, he tossed it to her. She got up and put it on.

  "If
you're going to go cook, do you think I should stop by the other bathroom and... use one of those tests your mom left behind?" She whispered to him, eyes widening as she considered the possibilities.

"I think you should. I'll go make us some food, but I warn you, no matter what the results are, I plan on bringing you back to bed and starting all over again!" Hunter told her with a grin.

"I'm actually a little sore," She said shaking her head. "At least let me get a bath in to soak all my muscles first."

"Can I join you in the tub?" Hunter said as his brows went up. He pictured her wet, slick body in the water. His tub was big enough for them both, and he could picture her riding him in his mind in the water. The erotic, wet fantasy had him growing hard again under the bathrobe.

"Think you can keep your hands to yourself?" Raising a brow at him, she was pretty sure that if he was in the tub with her she wouldn't do much relaxing.

"If I must," He looked so disappointed she almost started to laugh. Getting up she followed him out of the bedroom, and took a right down the hallway while he went left down the stairs. Knowing the test waited for her, she felt a little sick to her stomach.

She watched him disappear into the kitchen from over the railing before walking into the bathroom. Finding the box with the test kits, she read the directions and pulled out one pink test. She took the cap off and sat on the toilet. Peeing on it, she pulled it back out after a few seconds and put the cap on it. She set it on the counter and waited. Flushing the toilet, she stood up and washed her hands and face. She picked it up and slipped it into her robe pocket, not wanting to face it yet. She went back to the bedroom and brushed her teeth and carried it downstairs to the kitchen.

"Did you test?" Hunter asked her as he fried up some bacon and eggs. He was busy putting toast in the toaster, and grabbing plates and juice cups.

"I did, but I didn't look at the test yet, it's in my pocket. You can look when you're ready and tell me the answer. I am not sure I want to face it alone." Misty said and walked over to him. Putting her arms around his waist, she leaned her head against him for a moment and closed her eyes.

"This test doesn't change anything Misty, you know that right?" Hunter told her gently as he searched her pockets for the test.

She nodded and then shook her head no. "It could change a lot." Confused, she wasn't sure if she wanted to know the test results at all, feeling a temporary moment of wanting to stay in denial either way, she almost asked him not to tell her the truth.

"I meant between us. I'll love you, cherish you, have your back and be by your side, even if you have swollen ankles and a belly with my child in it. I'll still find you beautiful no matter what, and our relationship can survive the change. Our relationship will last forever. A child only needs us for a few years. It will be okay." Hunter said, reassuring her. He didn't fear having a child with her, in fact he was almost hoping she was pregnant. He'd had time to warm up to the idea over night and was excited at the possibility.

"I'm more worried about how I'll handle the change, rather than our relationship. I've always been so focused on myself, and where I was trying to go. I never stopped to think and watch someone else grow." She admitted and then felt guilty. It's not that she wouldn't want too, but sometimes she wondered if she'd know how. She'd never had a mom really to show her what to do.

"You'll be an amazing mom either way Misty, I promise and what we don't know, we can learn as we go. I'm sure any children we have will forgive us if we aren't perfect." He told her grinning. Pulling the stick out of the back, he looked at it and then looked back at Misty. "Do you want me to show you, or tell you, or leave you not knowing?"

"You might as well tell me," Sighing she mentally braced for the two choices, unsure how she felt about it. Part of her almost thought she'd be disappointed if it was negative. She'd had time to dream about it last night, and while it was scary and overwhelming, the idea had started to grow on her.

Hunter turned the test around so she could see the two pink lines on the test. "I'm assuming this is positive?"

"Yes." She whispered, staring at it and instinctively brought her hand up to her belly as she thought about her future baby. "Oh my god, it's real."

"It's real." Hunter started to laugh and then hugged her tight. "This is going to be a whole new adventure."

"That's the understatement of the century." Misty muttered, taking the test out of his hand and staring at it in shock. Just because she saw it, doesn't mean it made it more real to her automatically. "Looks like we're in for whole lot of new life experiences."

"I can handle it." Hunter promised her.

Misty looked up at him and then smiled, her body relaxing. "I know. You seem to be able to handle almost anything. With you by my side, I know we'll get through this together."

"Good, now let's eat breakfast, and I promise not to tell my mom that she was right, at least for a while until you're ready." Hunter said as he took the food over to the table and set it down.

"I appreciate that. I have a feeling your mom would turn right back around and not leave until the child went off to college." She admitted as she sat down to eat breakfast.

"Don't you dare jinx us." He told her and then paused his fork half-way to his mouth. "She just needs a boyfriend to keep her busy. That would keep her out of trouble."

Misty grinned at him. "Sounds like a plan, you should get right on that."

Hunter nodded and ate his breakfast. He was happy. He'd started off not knowing where he wanted to go with his life, and now he'd found his plan, his future, his beautiful mate.

  He had no regrets.

  Chapter 1

  500 years later, Present Day

Peter dropped a file on Jason’s desk. Jason was glaring at his computer, looking like he wanted to punch the screen. Jason was not good with electronics and despite being hundreds of years old, he routinely missed the old days. Hacking and slashing with sorts and claws. Days of guns and cell phones had him cranky. Peter routinely gave him crap for being an old man.

“What is this?” Jason asked him, picking up the file and flipping it open. He briefly scanned it, but the information didn’t entirely sink in at first. He could see it was a new case file, but he wasn’t sure what it was for.

“Our new assignment. We have rumors that there’s a dark force drawing magic from some of the portals in Central Park. The witches are working on controlling it, but the demon portal is active and trying to break free. Someone is messing with the balance of magic that keeps the portals locked.” Peter told him and rubbed his goatee.

Jason looked at his friend and for a moment, appreciated how long they’d been together. Hundreds of years later, and they were still best friends. Peter had stood by his side when his mate was murdered, held his hand through burying her, and eventually pushed him out of his depression to start living life again.

Peter knew that signs of dark magic could signal the return of the dark fairy that had killed his mate hundreds of years ago. The shock that slid over Jason’s face, showed Peter he’d considered that too when he was looking at the file.

Revar Blight was from the Elven realm. Half fairy, and half warlock, he had used dark magic to leave his realm and come here, hundreds of years ago. During the war between shifters and magic users, he’d picked a side and worked on causing devastation for people who lived on Earth. Humans were the only non-magic users of any sort in any of the realms, and over the years, all super naturals had eventually bonded together to protect the humans from all the other realms.

Revar had wanted to open up the demon portal and bring complete destruction to humans. No one knew why he hated humans so much, but he’d killed Jason’s mate over five hundred years ago to recharge his magic crystals in order to force open the portals.

No one knew what the Demon Lord had promised him in return for his cooperation in opening up the portal, but they knew he couldn’t have been acting alo
ne. Over the years, there had been minor disturbances and an occasional demon had slipped through. But not an army.

The type of power being mentioned in his new assignment would require the cooperating of the witches and shifters together to stop whatever this new force was, and it definitely reeked of Revar’s signature.

“What does our boss want us to do?” Jason asked Peter, he loved to give Peter crap. Peter’s twin sister was their boss, and Penelope never let him forget that she got the job. After living for hundreds of years were females didn’t have equality, she finally got to lord herself over them for a change. She was making up for it too. She rubbed her brother’s nose in it a lot.

“She wants us to investigate, and make sure we fill out all our paperwork. Apparently the international board is irritated with us for not bothering to communicate with their human resources when supernatural business is going down.” Peter rolled his eyes, “I don’t get why humans need to know everything. It’s not like their guns are going to help against dark magic.”

“No, but it makes them feel like that have some control over things in their world. Go easy on them,” Jason told him. He had sympathy for the humans. They had to rely on super-naturals for protection against other super-naturals and it was a hard pill to swallow sometimes. He knew what it was like to feel helpless when it was his loved ones that were at risk, and knew what the loss was like.

Peter had never had a mate, nor lost a family member. He knew what it was like to lose pack mates and friends, but his closest, most intimate relationships were all still intact.

“Do we have any of our hellhounds to scout the magic?” Jason asked. The hellhounds were excellent at sniffing out the source of magic. They could even pinpoint the different signatures from the users and could often identify what magic came from which individual. They’d been invaluable at sniffing out good from bad magic users over the years. Jason didn’t entirely trust the hellhounds, though they were well trained, a single bite from them and it was agony. Their bite was poison, if you were lucky enough to survive the bite, you’d suffer while your body fought the poison off. They had to be careful using them around humans because humans almost never survived a bite from a hellhound.
