“Your butler might be able to help.”

“With cooking?” Again, McBride felt he’d lost the thread of their conversation. He was tired and unable to focus on anything other than his three hungers.

“No.” Easton laughed. “With my milking.”

“I don’t think he’s programed for that, but I have a valet who might be.” Given the strange things his father and his companion, Jonas, had done together, McBride wouldn’t be surprised to discover that his valet doubled as a sex toy.

“Can we see about it now? I am sorry to be so pushy, but I am in some distress.” Easton had been squirming in his seat since he sat down. McBride had thought he was anticipatory about the reception of his cooking, not the needs of his body.

McBride had sympathy for him, as he knew what it was like when he had not found release in several days. Again, his gaze wandered to Caleb’s house. The lights were on and the drapes were open. As best as McBride could tell, Caleb was at the table near the window, but he couldn’t see what he was doing.

  “Sir?”

“Ah, yes. Let me have him meet us down here.” McBride called for his valet using his implanted communication device. The unit made a small lump behind his right earlobe and was activated by touch. When the valet wasn’t working, he stayed in the closet in his father’s old room. McBride had chosen a smaller and brighter room on the opposite side of the house. There was something so depressing about the room where his father and his companion had shared their perversities. McBride had only been in there twice. The first time was when he inherited the house and inspected all the grounds. The second was when he was looking for clothing for the new thralls since his slammers couldn’t go into town. That was the time when he’d learned about the curious and illegal shenanigans of his father.

Once the valet arrived, McBride explained the situation.

“You wish for me to milk him?” Since the valet’s face was fashioned of preformed metal, he made no expression of interest or displeasure.

“If that is something your programming allows for, I would like you to do that for Easton.” McBride didn’t want Easton hurt. After questioning the valet, it turned out he was programed to offer that type of service as part of his duties. Curious, McBride asked him when in the world he would be called upon to do such a thing? The valet explained that if the man he served was going to an event where becoming aroused would be embarrassing, he would be milked beforehand so that he would be less likely to have an erection during the festivities.

  “Thank you for explaining.”

“I would be happy to provide this service to you should you ever be in need.” The valet bowed.

“I’ll keep that in mind.” As fascinated as he was, he simply couldn’t imagine taking the edge off that way when he could arouse himself and find a thoroughly satisfying release with his own hand. Again, his gaze wandered to Caleb’s house. His last epic climax had been with Caleb, and he already hungered for a repeat. Forcefully, he turned his attention onto the valet. “Where will we do this for Easton?”

  “Come with me.”

Easton and McBride followed the valet into the large washroom on the main floor. McBride was curious about the procedure, but he also wanted to make sure the valet didn’t damage Easton.

Since Easton was already nude, the valet had him place his cock on the edge of the sink and hands on the countertop that held the fixture.

“Relax, please. I assure you I am adept at this procedure.” The valet patted Easton’s shoulder in an effort to comfort him, but the gesture looked oddly empty to McBride.

“Sorry. I think I’m overly excited to finally have freedom from this gnawing pain.” Easton drew a deep breath and leaned forward, which lifted his buttocks up, putting his tight bottom on display. McBride knew whichever brother he ended up with, Easton was going to make one of the Morgan brothers very happy.

“Hold still, please.” The valet then inserted the index finger of his left hand into Easton’s ass. Presumably, he shot a mild electrical charge into his body, stimulating his prostate. After a moment, Easton released a rather copious amount of cream into the sink.

  “All done, sir.”

“Thank you.” Easton smiled, and the tension fled from his body.

The valet washed up his hands and cleaned the sink. “Should I tend to him daily until he is given to his slammer?”

“Yes. But I wish to be present to observe.” McBride wondered if he could have the valet perform such a service on Caleb. Would that make him more docile and receptive? That really wasn’t the problem, not anymore. The problem wasn’t with Caleb at all, but with McBride himself. Without even trying milking, McBride knew that wouldn’t cure him of his inappropriate longings for his slammer, or vice versa. It wasn’t just sex or blood hunger. Something much more primitive drew him to the eldest of the Morgan clan.

Once they were finished with the procedure, McBride and Easton ate a decent meal, and then McBride instructed the butler to have a room on the second floor prepared for Easton. As soon as he was settled, McBride exited the house. All day he’d been trying to ignore his blood hunger, and he knew that was not a good idea. Denying his thirst could lead to overfeeding. He still blamed himself for Ollie’s wan appearance. When he glanced toward his house, he saw the drapes were drawn and there appeared to be no lights on within. Maybe all he needed was a good night’s sleep. As McBride looked around at the other houses, he realized the only one with lights on was Caleb’s.

McBride considered waking one of the other brothers, but he didn’t want to. He kept moving toward Caleb’s house no matter how hard he tried not to. Before he even passed the stocks in the center of the street, Caleb opened his door.

Irritated, McBride considered turning around and going back to the big house, but he knew he would never sleep unless he fed. What kept him intrigued and moving forward was the fact that once Caleb opened his door, he left the doorway. It was a curious invitation that McBride found himself moving toward.

When his feet hit the porch, he drew a deep breath, and he smelled Caleb. Light sweat, but it was mixed with that spicy soap he favored. Something about the combined essences pushed deep into McBride’s brain. His teeth began to itch and his balls ached. He’d eaten a full meal, but he discovered he was still hungry.

Stepping into the house, McBride was stunned to find Caleb sitting at the table with his head lowered and his neck bared.

  “No fight?”

“I want a thrall.” Caleb looked through the black strands of his hair. “I would happily take the one you brought today.”

McBride imagined Easton leaning against the sink with Caleb working his finger deep into his backside. Easton wasn’t soft against the porcelain, but hard, rocking his cock against that cold fixture while Caleb pumped him into a spectacular release. Once he was drained, Caleb would part his legs, step into him, and sink his massive prick—“He’s too small for you.”

“Is he?” Caleb lowered his gaze. “Will they all be too small for me?”

McBride knew what he was asking, but he played as if he didn’t. “You’ll get yours in turn.”

“Right. Youngest first.” Caleb sighed. “Will you drink?”

“Stand up.” McBride closed the door and turned off the lights. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust, but eventually he was able to see Caleb’s outline. Something, a candle, perhaps, flickered back in his bedroom. Golden light caressed his form, making him seem ethereal somehow. The blood hunger he’d been denying all day surged forward, making his mouth water. “Strip.”

Dutifully, Caleb unfastened his shorts and let them pool around his ankles. McBride swallowed hard when he realized Caleb’s cock was standing at full attention, just like his own.

“Have you ever been milked?” McBride wanted to call the question back, but he knew it was far too late.

Caleb shook his head, causing his beautiful hair to tumble around his powerful shoulders. Golden backlight turned the black strands deep m
aroon, making him now seem like a god. When McBride drew another deep breath, Caleb’s essence pulled him closer.

  “You know what it is?”

“I’ve heard of it from Bailey’s thrall. He’s very talkative in the field.” A lusty grin crossed Caleb’s face, making McBride tense.

  “Tell me you didn’t touch—”

“For the last time, I’m telling you, swearing to you, promising you—I will take a blood oath if I have to—to make you understand that I will not touch my brothers’ mates.” Caleb sounded utterly annoyed and frustrated that he had to reassure McBride of this fact multiple times. “They are, as you said, far too small for me. I would only have to grasp them in passion once and they would break.” Caleb lifted his head and his eyes met McBride’s. “But why even bother with this charade? You’ll never get me a thrall, and we both know it.”

“I’m getting all of you mates as quickly as I can.”

“Not me.” Caleb shook his head, fanning his hair around his shoulders, making McBride so hungry to touch him he shivered where he stood.

  “I’m doing everything I can.”

“Just admit that you want me.”

“I want your blood.” That was the only thing it was legal for him to admit to. “Sit down.”

There was a moment where Caleb looked to argue the point, but ultimately chose not to. He sat. McBride moved behind him. Gathering up the length of his hair, he moved it to the other side, exposing his neck, but before he let go, he allowed the silken strands to slip between his fingers. His hair was soft and scented with something masculine and seductive.

“Aren’t you going to milk me?”

Into McBride’s mind came the image of Caleb bent slightly over the table with McBride working his finger in and out of his tight hole until Caleb made that wicked whimper of surrender. After watching him splatter against the table, McBride would grasp his hair, pull him upright, and then sink his teeth into his neck as he sunk his cock deep into his ass. The moment was so clear and sharp in his mind it was as if it had already occurred and he was simply replaying it.

“I want to watch you.” Toying with the scar made Caleb squirm in his chair. It was very similar to the way Easton had behaved at dinner. “Wrap your fist around your cock, Caleb. Stroke yourself slowly while I watch.”

Caleb did as instructed. With a quick glance out the window to ensure their privacy, McBride worked the fasteners of his trousers apart, took his cock in hand, and stroked in time with Caleb. When they reached the peak, McBride bent and bit him. While he creamed against the bronzed skin of Caleb’s back, Caleb spurted against his own belly.

Finally, McBride felt sated. He tucked himself away as he licked the wound on Caleb’s neck closed. Before he knew what was happening, Caleb turned and kissed him. It wasn’t brutal, hungry, or base. It was as soft and welcoming as McBride’s own bed after the longest day. When he pulled back, their eyes met.

Caleb held his gaze and swore, “I don’t want anyone but you.”

  Chapter 5

Ollie didn’t want to leave Jonas alone in his house, but he knew if he didn’t report for work, McBride would get worried. Leaving his shades drawn would make him suspicious, so Ollie reluctantly opened them. Jonas swore he would stay in the back of the house.

“All I really need is a bedroom and a bathroom,” Jonas assured him, forcing a smile that didn’t get anywhere close to his eyes.

“But you will go mad from boredom.”

“I will think of all the things we will do once you come home.”

Ollie had grinned at that, but as soon as his repetitive chore of planting seeds started, his mind drifted into how he could make his relationship with Jonas work. Turning the issue over and around in his head didn’t help him push through to a solution or make the day pass any faster.

As the sun beat down on him, he lifted his hat and brushed his sweaty hair back. Ollie looked around at his brothers, wondering what they thought about while they worked. Sometimes they talked, but lately everyone had been quiet. Well, everyone but Ferris. Bailey’s mate was happy no matter what he was doing, and that joy seemed to radiate into Bailey. Oftentimes, the two of them worked side by side and talked the whole day through. Ollie had been envious of their bubbling laughter, but now he felt a different kind of jealousy. Bailey and Gannon could bring their mates out to work by their sides in the field. No matter what happened, McBride would never allow Ollie to do that with Jonas. Even if McBride didn’t realize who Jonas was when he saw him, one of his brothers, probably Caleb, would know exactly who Jonas was. Since Caleb hated Jonas, he would tell McBride all about him, and then McBride would have to send Jonas away.

Ollie’s heart hurt so desperately tears came to his eyes. If Jonas couldn’t stay, what would happen to him? Jonas no longer had any money since he’d sold everything and put the funds into Ollie’s account. In Jonas’s mind, this made Ollie his master. To Ollie, it only meant his love was utterly destitute. Still, the funds were Ollie’s. He could do whatever he wanted to with them. He would give everything back to Jonas and then…

  “Watch him go.”

“What?” Caleb lifted his head and focused on Ollie.

  “Nothing.”

“Are you sure you’re better?” Caleb moved a little closer.

  “I’m fine.”

“Then why are you all bundled up?” Caleb wore only a pair of shorts because he said he loved the feel of the sun on his skin.

“Too much sun makes me itch.” Ollie wore trousers, a long-sleeved shirt, and a wide-brimmed hat. He tried to minimize the glare since it gave him headaches.

  “You’re wearing a scarf.”

Ollie had forgotten all about that. Since he was a lawman, McBride was a keen observer. He noticed subtle changes in his slammers. He didn’t think it would be too long before McBride realized that Ollie had a new scar on his neck. What amazed him was that Caleb was just as observant.

“I don’t want the sun on my neck.”

“Right.” Caleb nodded, but he kept looking at Ollie.

  “Stop it.”

  “I’m just happy for you.”

“You are?” Caleb could be harsh, but he had moments of amazing kindness toward his brothers. The problem was that Ollie never knew which way the wind was blowing with Caleb. He was an enigma.

“The new thrall McBride bought yesterday looks very handsome.”

“Oh. Right.” Another problem added to the big pile Ollie already had to deal with. He hadn’t wanted to be rude, but if that thrall had entered, Jonas would have been exposed. How in the world was he going to put McBride and the thrall off another day?

“Since you’re better, you’ll have your first taste of blood tonight.”

  Ollie nodded.

“But that’s not true, is it?”

“What?” Ollie jerked his gaze off the tidy row of seeds and up into Caleb’s eyes. The sunlight made them glitter, harshening his features with stark shadows under his high and wide cheekbones.

“Didn’t Jonas give up his neck for you?”

Ollie stopped breathing and almost passed out. How did Caleb know?

“I saw how he looked at you. I know he hungered for you. When he left, I told him if he took you, I’d hunt him down and kill him.”

“Damn you!” Ollie shot to his feet. Now he knew the real reason why Jonas had left him behind. “Why couldn’t you have just minded your own damn business?”

Caleb rose and loomed his superior height and weight over Ollie. Despite the fact that he was much bigger and could easily break Ollie in half, Ollie attacked him. “I could have been with him if not for you!” All his anger, frustration, and fear came pouring out as he swung wildly at his brother. He got in a good hit or two before Caleb dropped his shock and hit back, but rather than decimate him, Caleb put a massive hand on Ollie’s chest and pushed him, tripping him over a hump of dirt.

Sprawled out on the ground, Ollie discovered the sharp landing had knocked the wind out of hi
m, but it had also put a quick end to the fight. As he gasped for breath, he realized Caleb had taken pity on him. A second blow could have killed him.

“I didn’t do it to hurt you.” Caleb was shaking, but it was clear that he had no intention of hitting Ollie again. Something, or perhaps someone, like McBride, had gotten Caleb to exercise some self-control. “I didn’t like Jonas taking advantage of you.”

And now Ollie knew that even if he overcame all the obstacles that were already in his path, there would always be more. Caleb would never stand for Ollie hooking up with Jonas. Rich, poor, destitute or not, Caleb would never warm up to Jonas. Even if Ollie got McBride to accept the illegal liaison, Caleb wouldn’t. If all of the men on the farm weren’t willing to help Ollie and Jonas be together, their relationship was doomed before it went any further than it already had.

“Why do you hate him so?” Ollie managed the words through gasps.

  “He used you.”

  “He loves me!”

Before Caleb could answer back, the other brothers and the two thralls surrounded them. Ollie shook off the offered hands and climbed to his feet. To prevent the fight from escalating, Ollie moved to a different row and continued to place the seeds in a tight line. He looked back over his shoulder, surprised to find Caleb looking at him. That he considered him wasn’t what was so odd. It was the look on his face that surprised Ollie. Caleb’s expression was one of pain. Did he feel badly for hurting Ollie? Or perhaps he felt sad that Ollie loved a man he could never have.
